This Dollar Tree recently took over the spot where the 99 Cent Store used to be, right next to Spirit Halloween in a plaza with plenty of parking. The layout and even some of the products feel like leftovers from the previous store. What's also odd is that there's another Dollar Tree just across the street at Buena Vista Marketplace, which has a slightly bigger selection.
I came here specifically looking for Halloween decorations, but they barely had any, which was disappointing. This location is smaller than most Dollar Trees, so their selection is a bit limited. For instance, the greeting card section was completely empty. While this might be due to it being a newer store, I expected more variety.
They do carry the usual Dollar Tree essentials--cleaning supplies, arts and crafts, home décor, party supplies, and food--but not as much as the larger stores. There are some Thanksgiving decorations and a lot of Christmas themed items.
There are some hidden gems here. For instance, there were Harry Potter themed Pop Funko's for only $5.
The service, however, was surprisingly good. The cashier, who was also stocking shelves, was friendly and efficient, which was a refreshing change from the poor experiences I had at the old 99 Cent Store (where I encountered rude and even racist service).
Overall, this Dollar Tree is convenient if you're nearby and need something quick, but for a wider variety, I'd recommend heading across the street to the other location. It's a decent store, but definitely still getting settled. read more
