Everytime I am at Santa Anita Mall, I have to come into Nordy. I love Nordy! I love shopping here, so does everyone else at home as well. I recently discovered their buy online and pick up in store. By all time, the best thing ever also the worst. Now I am constantly shopping online at work and swinging by the mall to pick up my beloved items right after work. Oh, online shopping also allows me to earn cash back! I bought: - Shoes ( I love buying my (kids) Uggs here! Always in stock!) - Purses & Wallets - Make Up (for self & ask gits) - Clothes (found a very nice dress to attend a wedding in a few weeks) - Accessories Customer service is for sure rated 5 stars all across, every single sales associate is very friendly, nice, and helpful. This place is a dream land for me. They have many things I would love to buy and many things that I know I can not and will not buy because of the price. But for the store in all I consider this place very nice and friendly service. The bathrooms are kept very clean that is a plus in my book and the store is kept very tidy and if you don't know where anything is at you could ask a sales attendant and they will assist you. I went here today to go and buy some socks that I am very happy about because there selection on it is very wide and there are many different types of socks for different types of shoes. I've been shopping here for years, but lately the atmosphere has changed. I noticed they started locking up the handbags on display. What is going on? Their events are still great. Beauty trend show, Anniversary sales, 1/2 Yearly sale...but by far CRN is the best time to shop. Earn extra points for shopping, free drinks and snacks while you browse sales that are not open to the public yet! Getting a Nordstrom card is totally worth it just for CRN! Sales associates are great. If they sell it online, they can send the item to your home or to the store for FREE. They still have the best return policy! Today I went shopping for my mother's bday gift, Nordstrom Santa Anita is Always my go to place. I took my five year old son with me to help me pick out a gift, after walking around Nordstrom for about 2 hours I purchased my mom a gift for over $2000. My son asked if we can stop at the kids shoe department and get a ballon. He asked for two balloons a blue and a green one. The girl working there KARY BUTLER, told us he can only have one. She brought out a green one. My son started crying for a blue one. Usually I would tell him no and leave the store but today he was such a great sport dealing with my shopping and I spent a good amount of money so I asked her if he can please have a blue one too. She said "no our policy is only one". So I asked to speak to her manager. She goes to the back and I hear her laughing with another employee. I waited for 10 minutes and I said "helloooo" loud enough for her to hear she doesn't come out until 5 minutes later To tell me her manager isn't answering. 5 more minutes pass and her manager comes, I ask him for a blue ballon while holding a green ballon in my hand and he tells me yes right away. I called customer service when I got to my car and they told me THEY HAVE NO SUCH POLICY OF ONLY ONE BALLON, they told me that her giving me two balloons wouldn't have been a problem. I also spoke to the Manager that gave me the second ballon and he also told me THEY DIDN'T HAVE A SUCH POLICY EITHER!!! I know it's just a ballon I get that, but the fact that I am a frequent Nordstrom customer and spend quite A lot of money there monthly I found the way she treated me and my son was really rude. She was rude, snobby and apparently a liar. She acted as if the second ballon was going to be deducted from her paycheck. KARY BUTLER you shouldn't treat people the way you treated my son and I today. Remember frequent customers like myself allows you to have a paycheck. Without us customers Nordstrom wouldn't be in business. I asked her for her name and she gave me the rudest reply I was so shocked. I've never had to deal with this type of customer service in my life and I'm quite surprised it was at Nordstrom. I am a Nordstrom VISA card holder and I made my husband open a card at Nordstrom too, that's how much I enjoy shopping there but after this experience i don't know if it's worth spending the extra money especially with the customer service I dealt with today. Placed my anniversary sale orders online within the first half hour on day 1. I chose the option to pick up items at the store. Within hours I received email notification that portions of my multiple orders are ready to be picked up at the store, and a couple items got cancelled because it is no longer available. I went to the store to pick up the orders the next day, I was only handed 2 items. The curb side service guy told me they don't have anything else ready for me because they got 1000 orders yesterday and he sent me away. I called the store back questioning why did I received email confirmation for store pick up on 15 items, and only received 2 items that was not even listed as ready pick up. Alison (the only helpful person today) then found the rest of the items and told me it's ready so I drove back one more time to pick them up. After picking up the items, I browsed through the store a bit, and I saw the items that were marked cancelled from my original order are actually available in the store, and they have tons of them!!! This is extremely upsetting, someone is not fulfilling the order or updating the store inventory properly!! Even the ladies at the customer service counter were not able to provide information on the list of items that was actually ordered on my account and they were not able to tell me which ones are in the store, in transit, confirmed, or cancelled. What the heck is going on?!!! I thought Nordstrom has superb customer service, the service I received today is beyond BAAAAAD! read more

I love the service in Nordstrom, but they need to figure something out with the Longchamp store, because we loved this one bag but it was a floor item, and since it was a big purchase, we wanted a brand new leather handbag from the box, so we were given two choices, either to buy the handbag as is with the ripped and torn card inside of the bag, or order from the website to ship home a brand new one. We were lied to when we chose to buy from the online shipping to our house. After two weeks of ordering it, we did not receive a tracking number so we went in to ask the sales person, Julian for the tracking number, where he disappeared for 10 minutes to return with a tracking number on his phone. He then said that it would ship from the Costa Mesa Longchamp location. After refreshing the page for a while, the page stated that it was shipped from Baldwin, which is where the Longchamp store that we paid for the bag was. We ordered an online bag to ensure that it was brand new and that was what Julian and all the sales associate at Longchamp in Nordstrom promised us. But when we received the bag, we checked the bag to then see that it was the exact same bag that we tried on in the store. We were lied to and deceived just so someone can make a sale. We were more than happy to buy the floor purse, but it was the fact we were given choices to then be lied to about where the bag came from. Will not be buying from Longchamp in the mall again. I grew up shopping here considering I used to live in the area. I often come back to the mall because it's one of my favorites and I like to "come back home" every once in a while. I get tired of the crappy sales people (not all) who walk around pretentious and snobby here. I had my daughters jeans that I had purchased, hemmed from the seamstress. I came in the store to pick them up and the older lady at the counter there was actually pretty rude. She let my daughter try them on, although when we were finished and I tried to be polite and flag her down and tell her "thank you", she completely ignored me, wouldn't make eye contact with me. Although, I was literally on the other end of the counter staring at her. So I walked away, Then I tried to talk to two other male employees that were busy yacking to each other about their personal problems. I tried to go up to them and thank them. They would not stop talking about their problems out loud. I couldn't believe that they thought their drama was more important. It seems like if they're not making commission on you they literally don't care about you. This is not the first time I've had encountered rude judgey employees at this Nordstrom. I'd rather have a really nice salesperson that is there with excellent customer skills then some sales person that's trying to look relevant and hip to the Nordstrom brand with zero CS skills. Usually, I would ignore it, but I've had it. My 17 year old won't even shop in the teen department anymore because she says the employees there are rude. read more

I was in the mens department and was looking for a velvet blazer knowing Burberry had one. I asked what came to be the manger of the mens department for assistance. He rolled his eyes and passed me off to a new associate that had no clue. If I'm asking about a Burberry blazer obviously cost isn't an issue but he kept repeating it was expensive. I said ok, and he advised me they did not carry it. I checked out the whole department and low and behold I found it. That's when the associate found me and again repeated it was expensive. I finally said yes it's expensive because the quality it superior to anything else you have here. This Nordstom is relatively new and has a nice selection of items in each section. The staff is more friendly and upbeat than other locations and the store always feel clean and not cluttered. The shoe department has a nice carpet that is hard to push a stroller through, but feels great on bare feet. After having a long conversation with corporate customer service and the store manager, we decided to return the men's suit and sport coat. I still had my own suit to alter which they graciously offered to reimburse the cost had I decided to go elsewhere. I really do enjoy shopping at Nordstrom so I decided to just get it done in store. Nicholle and Zarik the tailor took care of me and the customer service was fantastic. When I came back two weeks later, it took quite a while to track down my suit. Unfortunately the same sleeve issues happened to my suit but it was a pressing issue which was resolved. My pants had to be taken in at the waist but whoever did altered made a crooked seam so the pants have to be reordered. We'll be back next week as we reordered the men's suit and sport coat based on this visit's awesome customer service. read more

The Santa Anita Nordstrom has gone through a major upgrade!! They now carry a lot of high end lines and exclusive brands for men and women. They sell Jo Malone, too! Its a great fragrance only found at Saks and Neimans, but they have it at this location! They also have a wonderful cafe with very reasonable prices. This is probably one of the nicer Nordstrom Stores in the southern California Area. If you are looking for a great Nordstrom in the Pasadena or SGV area, this is probably your best bet! read more

This has been my go-to Nordstrom for as long as I can remember, since it's the closest to me. As a child, I came here with my mother, and now alone (unless I drag Craig P. with me hehe). Nordstrom is my favorite department store and continues to be, with their competitive pricing policies, great sales, and customer service. My two favorites things about Nordstrom is their price matching and very lenient return policy. With that said, I'll write about my most recent experience involving price matching in the handbag department. First, a little back story: I've been lusting after the Alexander Wang Rocco/Rockie for the last six years. I had a $300 gift certificate with Shopbop.com and was saving it to use it to purchase the bag. After much contemplation, I decided I wanted the bag with rose gold hardware, which Shopbop didn't have. Thanks to ShopStyle.com, I found the exact bag on sale at AzaleaSF.com for $595 (regular price is $850), but it was sold out. I realized Nordstrom could do price matching... Their price matching policy is a little tricky and there are tiny loopholes that some salespeople are willing to take or bend a little. Most customers usually do price matching on shoes, which both Craig and I have done. For shoes, some SAs say size and color matters, some say size and color doesn't matter. It really depends on who you get. I suggest if you get a no the first time, it doesn't hurt to ask someone else again at a later time. Helia helped me and was a complete doll. After waiting for some time, he told Helia that they would price match Azalea SF, which meant I could purchase it for $595, saving almost $300 (including tax)! I was told that Nordstrom won't do a price match if the competitor's item is sold out, but they made an exception for me, which I'm so grateful for. Helia was also able to track down a Le Pliage in a sold out color for me and did two follow-up price-checks for a MBMJ Delancey weekender that I also purchased from her to see if I could do a price adjustment. I love that Nordstrom is the epitome of luxury, and their goal is to always try to keep their customer happy, and help them save lots of money! They have amazing sales and policies to help lessen the damage on our wallets, without sacrificing quality or service. read more

***Update*** I received a phone call from the Store Manager who apologized for the experience and said she will work with corporate to resolve these issues as customer service is extremely important to them...much appreciated! One star service today at Nordstrom. HIGHLY disappointed. If you shop at any Nordstrom or know anyone that does, please read below. ***When visiting any Nordstrom store for a return or exchange my advice is DO NOT LET THE CASHIER RUN AS AN EXCHANGE if you are planning on getting a different color/size etc. Make a return and a repurchase. A lot of times the cashiers automatically just process the transaction as an exchange*** ***Did you know that when you allow Nordstrom to process an exchange, even though you receive a new item, there is NO WAY to track the "proof of purchase" of that new item on a Nordstrom credit card, debit card or any other form of payment? Any bank card, Nordstrom Card or Nordstrom Debit card will show the original item has been returned, but it will not show that it has been repurchased/exchanged. So there is no way for Nordstrom to track the proof of purchase of the exchanged item unless you keep your receipt or sticker with bar code. You would think that if you have a Nordstrom debit card OR Nordstrom credit card, they would be able to track your purchases...NOT IF IT WAS EXCHANGED, it will only show a return! I found out the hard way, I went to exchange a pair of shoes that I was having a difficult time finding the right size. It took me two exchanges to finally find the right one, the shoe was not running true to size nor breaking in the way it should have. It took three employees, one manager in charge, to look over all of my purchases within the last 6 months, even though I told them it was only within the last month that I exchanged the shoes, and over 30 minutes of my time to in the end have to eventually walk away still having to deal with the exchange at another time since the store manager told me she would not exchange my shoes due to them not being able to find proof of purchase....I ended up being so frustrated I just bought the shoes in the correct size and was left to deal with the exchange once I found my original proof of purchase sticker on the box which I inadvertently left at home. The whole reason I have a Nordstrom card is to avoid the scenario of lost receipts/misplaced box, etc...I assumed the luxury of having a Store card would be to track every purchase or exchange but I learned something new today. I found out after I got home and found my original proof of purchase that it is the Nordstrom system accounting error due to the aforementioned "exchange" that caused them not to find proof of purchase on my Nordstrom card, they only ever saw the return. Shouldn't the manager in charge of the store have known enough about how their system works to have stepped in and remedied the situation? Nope, we both discovered this when she finally processed my exchange hours after I left the store, and the worst part, she did not even apologize for the inconvenience or her assumption that I "could" have purchased the shoes somewhere else even though I swore up and down that I made the purchase at Nordstrom. I wonder how many other Nordstrom shoppers have experienced the same type of incident? Hopes this helps someone out there. I regret giving this particular store my business today given the situation, but I really wanted those shoes! Have already called N Corp office on this one, they need to get this fixed as this is a huge inconvenience for loyal shoppers. read more

Nordstrom hired him when he was 84 years old, and he has been working 6 hour days at Nordie's for 13 years now. His bright outlook on life and glowing attitude is downright contagious. By example, he teaches us that a healthy brain = a healthy body. You ROCK, Mr. Ted :) we love you! I am an ultra-super-duper Nordie's fan. Depending on if they carry it, I will almost ALWAYS buy whatever it is I'm looking for from Nordstrom. Why? Because: - If I find it elsewhere for cheaper? Nordstrom will price-match! - If I can't find it in stock at my local store? This Nordstrom usually has great service. This must be one of those rare bad customer service moments, or maybe its just that one person. So I was with my mom in the shoe department trying on some shoes. For some reason, none of the shoes my mom tried on had prices labeled on them. My mom decides to buy two pairs and asks our sales rep, Kathleen, what the prices are. For the pair of Franco Sarto, she said it was on sale for $80. For the pair of Via Spagia, she just said it was on sale. When we get to the cashier who rang it up for us, everything Kathleen told us was WRONG. The Franco Sarto was not on sale AND it was not $80, but $90. The Via Spagia was NOT on sale at all. This sales rep definitely needs to do more homework in learning about her shoes and the prices!! After NOT winning at Santa Anita Racetrack next door, Laura D and I ventured into Nordstrom. It was in their shoe department that I realized this: EVERYONE is a winner here! Laura got a great pair of black sandals, and some AWESOME sparkly silver thong sandals - perfect for summer! The shoe guy was super gracious, and even though there was nothing that interested me personally, I'm always happy when I witness a great purchase!
