I came last week to shop the unexpected early access anniversary sale, at first I stopped at the Jo Malone counter -- a sales girl was there who seemed very reluctant to help me. Every sample I picked up to smell, she didn't seem to say anything or ask if I needed help. Then there was a trio of Mom, daughter, and aunt who spoke mandarin whom came to test the Jo Malone fragrances, and this sales girl was ALLL OVER THEM. Is it because I spoke English?! Then, I asked about the exclusive Jo Malone sampler set deal for Nordstrom cardholders -- I forgot to bring my card that day, I asked if she would be able to look it up (I would know this, I've shopped here a lot), her words exactly: " you need to go upstairs to customer service and ask them to look it up for you. Then you come back down here to shop." Hmmmm, skeptically I did it anyways because I wanted the customer service personnel to hear about this. I waited in line at customer service center, the ladies were very kind! They were confused as to why I was even sent there in the first place! However, they still helped me look up my card, they told me that "NO SALES SHOULD EVER TELL ME TO DO THIS, all sales department can look up your card the register and call!" I said: "I know, i shop here a lot, but I was intrigued as to why that girl told me to do this and I wanted you guys to confirm my thoughts." Sadly, I don't know her name (I remember her face though -- so Nordstrom, if you ever contact me I can point her out at the store). Shoe department customer service is meh. Don't want to be mean, but it's an honest feedback off of my multiple [ personal ] experiences. Before and during covid. Often times the sales people don't put any effort to help a "poor looking" person like me. That's the vibe I get when I shop there. I'm not rich but I love shoes and I mainly shop at Nordstrom shoes department because of my small feet. Only Nordstrom carries size 4.5, 4. Thank you Nordstrom for carrying these sizes. First off I will start with... I was a manager at Nordstrom for 4 years back in the day when customer service was still alive. I have been buying the same bras at Nordstrom for 5 years every anniversary sale. The brand has gone from a third party brand and then Nordstrom started making the same bra under their own brand Halogen.... now they are Caslon. This year they changed the straps to where you can't adjust them too much which is not really helpful for those who have to buy bigger cup sizes but need tighter straps. I went in to see if their alterations could sew the straps to make them tighter since they have changed the style. $10 a bra to fix. I was shocked. I asked to talk to the LOFT ( leader of the floor ) who gave me a line of crap. I won't be going here again. I haven't go to Nordstrom since Covid. Today decided to go lunch with one of my good friends and stop by Nordstrom downstairs at the dress shoes area. My friends bought three dress shoes for her son. The lady name "Evata" cashier (look middle eastern or arabic her accent) according to her. I asked her name cus she had such bad attitude to be work at Nordstrom. Never smile, give us items kinda throw at us, and we asked questions she answered with an attitude like don't bother me. Are you serious?! We spent money here to pay for your salary. This used to be a great store but in the last 4 to 5 years it has had awful customer service. I have been shopping at this store since it opened and I loved it. Then, slowly things changed and it has gone down hill. I had a problem with a large purchase I made. Up to this point I really never have had a problem here. I tried to resolve it with the department manager but was unsuccessful. She told me to contact the store manager so I did but she would not return my calls or emails so I could resolve the issue. When I finally tracked her down she basically accused me of being in the wrong and had a very nasty attitude. I asked her to check my history so she could see I was a good customer with no issues up to that point. She really didn't care and said I could return it but the whole thing just put a nasty taste in my mouth. At that point I stopped shopping there and I don't even walking through the store. I am disappointed in this Nordstrom's. For men's clothing, they have a limited selection of the men's collection. I think that I would rather go to another larger Nordstrom's like the one in Costa Mesa or in San Francisco. By the way, they do not have G-Star here as the G-Star website indicates it does. One salesperson said that they didn't have it and another salesperson said that they have a very limited selection. BTW, I looked where the salesperson said it would be and it was not there. The first salesperson didn't care to help me so I was not too happy about that. He was too busy trying to chat with his coworker. I started the trip to Nordstrom to see what their policy is about their own brands; I heard from a COSTCO patron they have a life-time warranty. After showing my unusually torn Nordstrom shirt, the saleswoman spoke with the manager, and was able to provide me with a similar shirt at no additional cost. She even said if the material is not to my liking, I can return that one as well! I am convinced that Nordstrom is the best Department store for quality and customer service that I'm aware of. All these years, I've been afraid to shop the store because of price, but that went away immediately, once I found they stand behind their merchandise, 100%. read more

This is a review on my online/in-store experience: I ordered a men's money clip as a gift via online and the process was seamless. I requested my item to be ready in-store so that I could have the gift sooner. The order was ready within less than 24 hours and I signed up for text messaging so I knew right away when it was ready. However, my main complaint was the presentation of the item. I ordered a Tumi money clip and it came solely as a clip with a white generic Nordstrom logo paper bag. No packaging whatsoever. It looked like it was a sample product... no original box, nothing besides a clip shoved in a bag that you would get if you made copies at Kinkos/Office Depot....yet I paid full price for the item (one of my major no-nos as a shopaholic). The appearance was distasteful and I was honestly ashamed to be giving this as a gift. One of the service representatives agreed that it should have been better presented, and he wrapped it up, found the Tumi packaging and the issue was resolved after a visit to the Men's furnishing area. I have to agree with Diana Q on this one. Whatever you do, dont go to the Bobbi Brown counter. She has to be talking about the same two women that also have been there the past 3xs Ive been at their counter. At one point there were 3 women behind the counter, 2 doing nothing and 1 helping a customer..I stood there staring at them for at least 10 mins, I waited until that one girl was done and then she just walked away. I said 'excuse me, can you help me?' and she said, no, one of these girls can help you. Then the other two girls were gave a look like, oh! we didn't know you were standing there. Went there to get shoes today, was standing around for at least 15 mins looking for someone to help me get a size but no one bothered. I noticed two salespersons were just idling and talking. Caught my eyes a couple of times but neither bothered to step up and asked if I needed something. They carried on with their conversation like tomorrow is going to end. I walked off to another section to look for someone to help but this one salesman was busy with another customer so I walked back to where I was and finally found someone. For someone that should be teaching customer service to her employees, she sure is doing a better job of teaching them that yelling and talking down to customers is what the norm should be. As I was speaking to her employees about things, she tells me that I am distracting them from working and that if I'm going to talk to go stand somewhere else and do it. I told her I was shopping in the department and she responded with "Oh really?, I see nothing in your arms" I then got very upset and left the location. I was here last night purchasing a watch. I went in and new exactly what I wanted. Well I knew the style but was indecisive about the color. I was helped by Raquel. She was so sweet because I was taking my time and couldn't figure out if black or gunmetal was better looking. When I finally came to my decision, I asked her for a new watch and not the one on display. She searched her locked drawers and even called a different department looking for the watch and could not find it. She checked the system and it showed that it was in stock so she checked the back one last time and found them! Even though she went out of her way to look for the watch I wanted, I still wanted one that was brand spanking new in the original box it came in with the plastic film on the watch, extra links in the box, with some kind of pamphlet and these watches didn't have it. She mentioned that they do have it but the way it gets shipped to them is different from the way it gets shipped to customers. She recommend me placing an order and it will arrive in a few days. So even though I didn't get to leave with watch in hand, I really appreciate her customer service skills because I felt like she went above and beyond to make me happy and she had a smile on her face the entire time. I also wanted to add, I wasn't the only customer she was helping. She was also dealing with a Gucci Rep. at the same time and one other lady but I felt like her focus was on me. I told her since I was still deciding, she can help the others out. Which she did but she checked on me frequently. So she placed my order and it should arrive in a few days! I'm the type that already knows what she wants coming into the store, so it takes a mere 5 minutes for the entire transaction to finish. Granted, there were three other ladies around the counter, but only two of them had already been helped! Another woman (in her 40s) approached the counter and was instantly greeted. Stood there for about 10 minutes before I was helped (and it was a 3 minute transaction). I'll be taking my Clinique purchases elsewhere. CHANEL: Came in last week to check if they had the Fall nail colors in stock. The rep said they'd be in next friday. Stopped by the following Friday and YES SCORE THEY WERE THERE! I've been shopping at this location for some time now. On this day I wanted to look at purchasing a high end stroller. As I began looking at some of the models that were on display I noticed a girl who was aligning some clothes on a nearby rack. After about 5 mins I see her waking over to the strollers with a customer who had a question. I assumed that after her conversation with this gentleman she would acknowledge us and ask if we needed any assistance. After her interaction she walked away clearly seeing that we were hands on with strollers pulling them off the display stage. This is business as usual here as of late. I've walked through the mens department without any greeting from employees for years now. Weeks back I wanted to purchase a designer wallet and I had to search for help. I don't know why I'm continue to shop at Nordstrom, I guess I'm looking for the service I once received from this reputable department store. As a matter of fact about a year ago I wanted to purchase a YSL cologne and the girl who worked in mens fragrance was not interested in helping me. When I walked over to macy's the lady's who were more mature and professional helped me sample the different YSL fragrances and sold me! As soon as I picked up the shoe, she ran to me and asked me if I needed any help in a way where it sounded like she wanted me out of there because I was messing with her stuff. I kindly replied that I needed a size 5 1/2. She lets me know that these boots are $798 as if I couldn't afford it. I wanted to look at them anyways. She brought them out in a size 5 and sat next to me when I told her I would like to check them out on my own. She sat with me almost the entire time and asked me if I knew about the brand and etc. I told her not much, but I've been doing research and have been wanting to purchase a pair. Especially since I found they were $598 Nordstrom's website. She replied that the brand never has any sales so she doesn't know what website I was looking at but I'm telling you, they are on the Nordstrom website price matched to another. In the end I didn't purchase the boots there because of the service and the way that associate made me feel. I would not want to spend my money where my money is looked low upon. I've been coming to this Nordstroms forever and ever. It's funny how there's always an Asian person working within reach so you may fare fine without speaking English if you're Asian. No other Nordstroms can boast this feature, except maybe the one in South Coast Plaza. The service has always been exceptional. It's Nordstroms. I found out today from the shoe department that they price match. What's funny though, is that it doesn't really help. What they have in stock are items that are brand new, "in" for the season. My bf wanted to get the Sperry Gold Cup Top Siders in the Sahara color. I looked online and no one has it for under the price of $160, so it was purchased for that price. My bf's mom liked the Sam Edelman Felicia ballet flats in nude leather. Yup, no one has it for less than the offered price of $100, so full price it was. But the best find of all today was my Baby G watch in clear pink jelly. I've seen these watches years ago, and haven't seen them since. I wanted them so badly, I even thought of buying them from sketchy websites, where authenticity and warranty were questionable. I'm so glad we all stopped by this Nordstroms today. So, as I said, their price match guarantee doesn't really help except give you the peace of mind that you're getting quality items that people are willing to pay exactly what you're paying to get them. Note: If you don't already have a Nordstroms account, open one. If you spend $100 on the day you open the account, they will send you a $20 Nordstrom Note (it's a gift certificate) within two weeks. I am very disappointed today when I encountered the RUDEST employee I have ever dealt in my entire life! I don't think I will be shopping here at this Santa Anita Nordstrom ever again! They don't know how to handle customers with class, dignity, and basic human respect. Here's my story: Went to customer service tonight to sort out my previous Nordstrom reward points because I have spent roughly 2k in the past few months and only shown 50 points in the system. I was greeted by a roughly 60ish grandma, after entering my basic info and was told that she can't find any additional reward points impatiently and tell me to walk away! Her attitude was like, I'm about to go home it's 8:45pm and she should shut up and go home! At the moment I was so pissed and ask my hubby to help me out! I felt very insulted by the taller man who had orangey/blonde hair. I was shopping for a Burberry purse for my mom as a Christmas present. Since I work at a restaurant nearby, I was wearing my work uniform (so i guess this meant that I looked like I couldnt afford anything). I was standing next to this lady -- whom that orange haired man immediately offered so much help to-- versus me, who received no acknowledgement at all even when I was there before her. That customer ended up going to the kate spade side and I ended up wanting the Burberry purse. Since I felt that the orange haired associate was being judgmental of me, I pursued the purchase with a different associate. I have been shopping at this store for 30 years...the prices used to reflect those that the average person could afford...in the last few years all basic products have switched to high end designer things like that of Topanga Plaza...I used to enjoy buying a new swim suit and cover ups every year...they carry very little of what they used to and it is all in the athletic apparel dept across the way...I think even the cafe is open only six hours and the service is not the same...the reality is this store is not what it used to be...I shop at Macy's now which is much more friendly and has clothing and shoes for the middle class person...not just the ultra rich. read more

I had what I thought was a pleasant experience with Nora at the La Prairie/La Mer counter a few months ago. I came to restock on some of my staple beauty items. She told me that if I spent a little more then I would receive a complimentary La Mer facial in June. So I decided to spend a little more than $1,400 and she was able to schedule me in. A couple weeks later she had texted me some promos La Mer was having, and she continued to do so every week, sometimes twice a week, for a month. About a month out she asked me if I was interested in any of the promos going on. I had told her that since I had already stocked up on all my skincare products a few weeks prior through her that I didn't have any current needs. Thats when she told me that if I did not make a purchase than she will cancel my complimentary facial she had scheduled me in for. I then told her that was bad shay customer service, I felt duped and asked her not to text me promos in the future. She texted me promos AGAIN a couple weeks later to which I told her that if she texted me again, I would write this review. So here I am. I am actually shocked that Nordstroms, in general, would have shady business practices like this. read more

The girl said since the store that my sister purchased the items didn't put a tag on the back of price I wouldn't be able to get full credit. Then she proceeded to ask for my ID. She basically made me feel like a criminal. Always friendly staff when you come to this Nordstrom. I've shopped in most departments - shoes, make up, accessories, jewelry, Encore, lingerie, and even eaten at the Nordstrom Cafe. Everyone is accommodating and friendly, so you do feel like you're getting a more upscale shopping experience. Only knock on this store is the majority clientele are just rude. This isn't the store's fault, and they do try to deal with it well. Doesn't stop me from coming in - I just try to adjust my times to early morning or evening. read more

I went there with my daughter to purchase her baby stroller, there was a specific Limited edition NUNA stroller that was a Nordstrom exclusive she was looking for she found it here, once we got there the customer service was awesome !!! Brenda in the baby department helped us, we were so happy because we are level 4 Nordstrom card holders and we were able to purchase it and instead of it costing $1099 we got it on sale for $798 and it's beautiful, trendy and classy.
