No better place to scout for shoes than Nordstrom's. Lucy wasn't in a mood to try on, but I tried a few pair of sandals and bought two. One pair of black backless strappy sandals, and another pair of gorgeous silver slip on sandals with a rhinestone toe ring. Fun!!! This store is so much nicer than the store in the Glendale Galleria. I needed some T-shirts and missed the semi-annual sale last weekend, so I thought I'd stop by a see if anything was left on the sale racks. Note: I am not a shopaholic for those of you who read my reviews. Most of the time I go shopping I never find anything. Today was one of those days. First of all I would like to say how pleasant the sales people are in the Point of View Department. It so refreshing to be approached by pleasant, helpful sales people who are not pushy. They see you holding stuff and they offer to put in a dressing room. Pros: 1) Nice sales people 2) More inventory than most Nordstrom's 3) Not as crowded as most Nordstrom's 4) Easy and free parking in an exterior lot. You don't have to deal with parking in a structure or getting stuck behind other cars waiting for a spot. You see the whole lot and it is just easier to scope out a spot. Cons: 1) If you happen to go on days when a horse race is scheduled at the track there may be some traffic issues. 2) Traffic on the 210 heading east bound from Baldwin is a nightmare after 3:00 p.m.. Gotta stop by Nordy's when coming to Westfield Santa Anita/Arcadia. I would prefer this store over the Glendale store normally. Great Nordy service, good brands not for everyone. Great return and exchange policy makes you really happy to shop here. Had some issues with my shoe after about 6 monthes and they just took it back and gave me a new one on the spot. This kind of service does not exist anymore. Great parking, covered and uncovered by parking structure. They even have valet if you need it. read more

This is the worst Nordstrom for customer service. I went to return a Christmas gift with the receipt, the original form of payment was cash, and they wanted to give me a gift card. I explained that it was bought with cash and I would like the cash back. The employee needed to get a manager, manager stated that he can only give store credit even with a receipt, he said new policy. I asked to speak to another manager and then (Ashley ) stated that that's the policy and this one time she will give me my cash back. I didn't mind getting the store credit, it was just they way they come at you. Like they are doing you a favor by giving you your money back. Very rude and unprofessional! read more

I would like to give Christina from Tom Ford cosmetics 10 stars she has amazing customer service and went above and beyond to help me in the Dior cosmetics department cause there was no one there to help me. Christina explained the difference types of foundation and face powder and matched me with the best color that works for my complexion. She has a lot of patience cause I wasn't sure about the blush color I wanted. She was not pushy and again she went above and beyond to help me. Excellent customer service. I love that when you buy a suit, they tailor it for you and I love getting handwritten cards from the sales person later asking how I enjoyed my purchase. This the Nordstrom that is nearest to my house. It's a slightly smaller one than some others (like Glendale, The Grove or South Coast Plaza), so it has less selection and a fewer less brands. One noticeable difference for me is the lack of Fidelity Denim. Nordstrom has the best return policy, so I try to buy more items here rather than other department stores. Although, I am not a big shopper. I usually go to Nordstrom with my friends who like to shop. The best time to buy items from Nordstrom are during their sales, which happen a couple of times a year (June and December for guys) or the Annual sale in July. Buying stuff online from nordstrom.com is also an excellent way to save and you can get free shipping and free returns. Xie Xie! read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. By far the worst shopping experience I've ever had. This is not an exaggeration, and it's not just the santa anita location, it's Nordstrom in general. Found some earrings online to purchase, the button to purchase literally said "pick up tomorrow" right next to it. I go to pick it up, and they said "no it's not here will be here tomorrow", managers said there is fine print hidden that says if you order after a certain time its the day after, yet I pressed a button that said "purchase now pick up tomorrow". Decided to have them ship it to my house, the woman I spoke with said they would do it Monday and I would get confirmation, never heard from them so I called on Tuesday and nothing happened, they didn't ship it. I asked for a confirmation so another woman sent me a receipt that had NO INFO on it, no tracking number or anything, literally a blank receipt that said $0 with no product. Not even my name on it. So after a couple more hours of getting hung up on and being placed on hold, I finally was able to get the store manager on the phone. She took care of everything and sent me a tracking number etc. But wait, that's not it...ready for the kicker? The earrings, or earring I should say arrived. It was literally ONE earring. Going back to check the site in tiny fine print on a bullet point, about 4 bullet points down it says its ONE earring, not a pair. Not to mention is was super tiny for $200. Nothing but deceit and BS. Screw this place, will never shop here again. read more

I came here looking for a pant suit to wear at job interviews and with the help of awesome sales associate, Kathryn, I was able to walk away with a suit purchase that was reasonably priced and looked sleek yet professional. Kathryn was extremely attentive, personable, and made sure I was satisfied with the final pick of the pant suit, also giving honest feedback about how the pant suit looked and if it was too long, too short, and if it needed to be hemmed a tad on the jacket sleeves. Since I have a petite frame, she searched extensively for black slacks in sizes 0 and 2, aiming to find the same shade of black to match the jacket's hue. The blazer jacket was on sale, but the pants were not, however I received exceptional customer service at my most recent visit here and plan to come back soon to look for a white Oxford style shirt to complete my pant suit. This is one of the better Nordstrom stores in the San Gabriel Valley area and the customer service has only improved over the years at this location. read more

I was browsing on Nordstrom.com for a bag to bring to an upcoming work event. I finally narrowed down my options and selected the bag on Saturday evening. Due to the timing of my work event, I chose the "Buy & Pick Up" option. I arrived at Nordstrom on Sunday morning and went to the Handbag department on the 1st floor. The associate told me that I had to go to the designated area on the 2nd floor. I didn't recall getting an email with instructions on how to pick up my order. In any case, I took the escalator upstairs and was greeted by an associate who asked me for my first and last name. There were racks / shelves with the orders placed in alphabetical order. The handbag was already placed inside a Nordstrom shopping bag so I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. Overall, I love the convenience factor! It was an un-bag-gettable experience. This may not be the biggest or most impressive Nordstrom in LA, but it's by far my favorite. I've found so many gems here, shoes, clothing, bags, everything. The customer service is honestly the best. I came in yesterday looking for a replacement backing to some Monica Vinader stud earrings I bought a few years ago, and they miraculously had the exact backing. The gal didn't give me any trouble about seeing a receipt, she was just genuinely excited that she helped me find what I need. I also found a great pair of AGL boots, on sale, and in my size, which is unheard of. ALSO, pro-tip: they have buy-2-get-one-free mascara events a few times a year, and I just happened to be out of Diorshow ($30 a pop). The sales woman advance-ordered them for me since I was a day early for the sale. That's honestly a steal! No more paying full price at Sephora. Also, I had the absolute best conversation with the woman. Another thing I love here is that the girls who work in lingerie are super duper knowledgeable about lingerie. It sounds weird but underwear is complicated and personal, but I've never gone wrong after taking recommendations from the sales girls. The employees that work here have some of the worst customer service skills I have ever come across. Every time I go in and ask for help, they either ignore me or help someone else that looks like they will spend more money. This is why people would rather shop online these days. I came in specifically for sandals and the girl helping me gave me the wrong kind and the wrong size. They are always out of stuff and act super bothered when you have questions. I have lost count of the times I have been to this Nordstrom and the staff are sales in the clothing are usually friendly. This review is solely for the staff in the pickup area. Over the last few years I have only used the pickup service 4 times and 3 out of the 4 was horrible. The last two times were a complete joke. I walked up and the associate asked for my last name and I said my last name. She looks at me and goes NO YOUR LAST NAME as if I did not know my own last name. I proceed to repeat the same last name and said that was the last name. The associate next to her said oh I remember yes I saw her box came in earlier with that last name. No apology, and the other associate hands me my item so I just leave. This last time I went to pick up my items. The associate Scott asks me what my last name is. I told him the last name. He said what are the items? I said I think a dress, shirts and something else? (I couldn't remember if the associate I ordered from a few days ago shipped the items to me or did a store pickup, since she did whichever would get it to me the fastest.) He comes back with one box and he opens it and it was only the dress. I said oh I believe there are some other items missing. He tells me oh I don't have X-ray vision I can't see what's inside the box. I said well I didn't say you have X-ray vision I'm just saying that there is still some items missing. He said "it's a joke" in a sarcastic manner. He goes and comes back and said no there's nothing else. I said I'm pretty sure there is as I have the confirmation it was delivered. He comes back with a small box and says oh they placed the box somewhere else and well I don't think there's much inside since the box is so small. He opens the box and there were two shirts. I took the two shirts and put it in my bag and proceed to leave and I can hear him saying something behind my back and laughing to another associate. I know I have another item which was a pair of pants to pickup, but I didn't even want to bother picking it up anymore after that experience. read more

Nordstrom is known for excellent customer service, but I really have never experienced that. I have only experienced average or subpar. There have been a few times when I have come to the half yearly end sale and would find that I would be overly charged. One example is when my mom purchased a pair of shoes for $75. When we got home, she removed the sticker on the back of the shoe and found another tag underneath it with a $60 price tag... how disappointing. I think the prices during the half yearly end sale are still a bit high for some of their items and so I rarely purchase anything from Nordstrom nowadays. One thing I do like about Nordstrom is their selection of wedding dresses on line and in store (not this location though, only selected store locations have it). I am appalled at the direction this store is taking...I walked in there on Sat the only day the mall is open till nine when the weather is cooler and found the shoe department separating the designer shoes with a drop cloth curtain so no one could go in there unless they knew they could afford 1k shoes or more...the rest of the shoes were in the aisles and their prices are stupid. the atmoshere is very negative and no one is friendly...arrogant rich customers are the only ones that get attention...macy's is my only store I will ever shop again...everyone I know that worked there has retired because of the sad shape the store is in...macy's is a real person's store where you are treated with respect and given great deals on just about the same things expecially at topanga plaza super macy's. read more

I had no issues returning the five pairs of UGGs that I received from my online order, but I was also able to cancel the other two pairs that I decided I didn't want since they wouldn't get here until after Christmas. I used to really enjoy shopping here but lately I feel like I am so easily over looked. I went to stop by the MAC counter and nobody wanted to help me. I had to ask at another counter if there was anyone who worked at Nordstrom that wanted to make a sale. They directed me to the MAC counter but could also see that I wasn't being helped. They apologized up and down but when I asked the associate for some help, they had NO CLUE what I was talking about. I was looking for a particular blush color. They had NO idea that it was a blush. I told them it was a blush but they coldly told me that they didn't think that I knew what the product was or that maybe I had the name completely incorrect. Gee, thanks. Way to encourage me to want to work with you. Yes, insults. That's wonderful. I ended up going through their drawers of products on my own and wasn't able to find the product that I was looking for, although they had one on display. Forget it. I ended up going to another few departments at the store. I was still over looked. I was passed up in the shoe department. I was ignored at the Chanel counter for makeup stuff. I was ignored in the kids shoes. I was given the evil sort of side eye in the hand bag department. It was NOT a good day. I wasn't dressed like a slob at all. In fact, I was wearing what a lot of other shoppers were: jeans, clean air max, a simple open cardigan with a plain t-shirt underneath, and my hair pulled back and ready to do some shopping. I just went to Nordstrom for first time since pandemic hit. I ordered online for in-store or curbside pick up. As a Thank You of epic proportion, customers who do curbside or in-store pick up get a free coffee or hot cocoa every day through December 31, 2020. That's bananas because their coffee is SO good. I love Nordstrom but I felt very violated by my experience here with a teller (Alexis) at the jewelry section. She made it very apparent that she was worried that I was going to steal an item that I had been looking at. Do you know how uncomfortable it is to have someone breathing down your neck, obviously pulling items away from your reach, not even trying to make conversation with you, but just watching as if you were going to steal something. She also searched me down for a tag that wasn't even on the necklace in the first place. I couldn't even enjoy browsing for more items. I did end up buying what I had came for but that sale was absolutely of no help from her. I understand that's your job, but at least do it discreetly. It's very rude. read more

I don't know where to start. Came into the Nordstrom store in my neighborhood. An older lady, Anna in the handbags area was very nice and greeted me after she was done with a customer. I ask her about a discount that Bloomingdales was having. She was accommodating and i was able to help assist me in what I was looking for. She proceeded to help me, but was unsure about the discount and proceeded to ask her area manager. A few moments later, a younger Mexican lady came over and asked about my inquiry. I proceeded to show her not only the live sale Bloomingdales was having until 9/26. She turned and said that she couldn't honor what their competitors could do for their customers and said there are many rules that do not fit their price match policy. I kept it professional and left. To all NORDSTROM SHOPPERS, please check BLOOMINGDALES, SAKS FIFTH AVE and NEIMAN MARCUS for their percentage off before purchasing anything from these crooks. They are the absolute worst in culture, value and customer service. This is truly a disservice to all former, present and future clients of Nordstrom. 1 star for the Eyewear Dept. when Sandra is working. I usually have good experiences with this location and their various departments. I went to this location and had an interaction with the Sales Associate, Sandra. She was seemingly friendly and approached me about any questions I may have had. I expressed to her I was looking for a specific pair of Chanel sunglasses you had carried a couple seasons ago. She asked me to send her the photo and product number, and so I did. This was when we had exchanged phone numbers. She said she would reach out to their Chanel vendor and text me if they DID have the sunglasses in stock and she would place the order for me. Not expecting it to be available (considering it has been several seasons now), I left the store. Less than an hour later, Sandra had texted me "Yes I am able to order this pair of the chanal sunglasses. We have a few left in our fulfillment department. They are $455." I was shocked and of course was going to buy them. I appreciated her reaching out to me so quickly. I immediately texted her back photos and the product number just once again to confirm these were the available pair. She confirmed and said "Our Chanal vendor replied yes that is the exact pair we can order for you." Should have already seen this as a red flag when she couldn't even spell Chanel correctly. The next day, Sandra gave me a call to confirm my payment. Up until this point, she has been very responsive, texted me back right away (8AM even when she is not working) and has just been communicative - I loved that, good customer service, or so I thought. Then she placed the order over the phone and I realized I wanted to use my 2x points on this purchase and my $10 note (I had forgotten to ask). I texted her back and no response. I followed-up the next day, no response. If the answer was no, she could have simply told me and that's fine. Again, followed up and she said she had applied my double points and had a $10 gift card ready for me. Ok, were you not going to tell me if I never followed up again? I did not want a $10 gift card, I wanted it applied to the purchase. If it could not have been done, she should have just left it. I checked my account for days and saw the order had still not shipped. Finally, I received an email from Nordstrom saying this order is canceled because the product is no longer available. As unfortunate as this situation is, I understand there may be inventory issues; however, I do not appreciate Sandra informing me verbatim, per her vendor, there were a FEW left at the distribution center. I am starting to think there was never the pair to begin with, and Sandra just simply wanted to complete the sales and knew it would not render. Not only am I disappointed in this oversight and somewhat manipulative tactic, I also do not like how she handled the situation. She was so responsive BEFORE, DURING the sale, but immediately AFTER the transaction, she stopped engaging. That to me, is NOT good customer service and demonstrates her lack of sincerity. As a loyal Nordstrom customer, I expected a lot more as I have always received excellent customer care, and this to me was shady business. As a new parent, all the stroller options could seem overwhelming. When I was pregnant, we would stop by the stroller section every time we were at a Nordstrom. The representatives knew nothing about the strollers. I really thought it was the norm until I came to this Nordstrom and meet Jesse Sanchez. He is so knowledgeable and friendly. He knows all the features and guides you through the different stroller options. I was so surprised by how helpful he is. I would totally recommend going with Jesse if you're overwhelmed with all the stroller/car seat options. He is amazing! read more

I have never been treated poorly at a Nordstrom EVER. This was my first visit to this location. Never again! From the moment I walked up to make an exchange on a designer handbag, the sales lady was AGGRESSIVE and RUDE. I was kind and polite as I always am. I said and did nothing to warrant such unacceptable behavior. First, she tried to tell me that returns/exchanges cannot be made for designer merchandise. What? Since when? It was 100% that she was inept, inexperienced and inconvenienced that I came in about 45 minutes before closing. She asked me if I would like to speak to a manger and said to the manger, we have a "situation," as if I am some criminal. She behavior was appalling and absolutely unacceptable for a Nordstrom employee. I didn't even want to complete the transaction at that point. I will take my business to a different Nordstrom. I should have listened to the other reviews. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT SHOP AT THIS NORDSTROM. She had to call a manager SINCE SHE DID NOT KNOW HOW TO MAKE AN EXCHANGE. She wouldn't know designer if it hit her in the face. She was unbelievably rude and unprofessional, I left there in tears practically.
