The atmosphere was calm and respectful, and the staff was wonderful. Helen did my scrub and did an excellent job (on the harsher side, which I loved). The only thing missing is food options -- hope they add some in the future.

My husband loved it. The massages are a little rough, so I asked for them to be a little softer. But, I'm kinda a baby with massages, like I don't book deep tissue type of massages. The masseuse went on top of my back on all fours lol. I started laughing when she did that, she started to giggle too. I told my husband she was so petite I didn't mind it. The spa areas were very clean and aesthetically pleasing. I didn't bring a bathing suit, so I couldn't use the co-ed area which looked so peaceful and relaxing. The spa offered shorts for men, so my husband utilized the co-ed hot tubs. He said he was the only person in the co-ed area and men's side. In the women's area, where they had the hit tubs, women are nude. So, it's a little stressful at first because I never been to a spa where people are nude. But, I eventually got comfortable and enjoyed the hot tubs. The women's are that had the clay room, salt room, and sauna required robes. That area was so relaxing. The clay area was my favorite.

What a unique experience. I can easily spend 4+ hours here…read more I arrived on a Tuesday at 6:30pm and it wasn't that crowded. Upon arriving at the front desk, they give you a spa outfit, some towels, and a wristband. The wristband unlocks your shoe locker and your separate clothing locker. The hot tub area is fully nude whereas the common areas are clothed. I went to grab some dinner and had the croaker fish. The service was fast and easy. The food is a little pricey but their meals came with a lot of bonchon so it made up for the cost! After dinner, I checked out the charcoal room, ice room and salt room. All the rooms were clean and had plenty of space for relaxing! Finally, I had a body scrub appointment at 8pm. I booked the scrub with Jenny and it was an experience! For those who never had a korean body scrub before, you have to soak in the hot tub for 20-30 mins. Then your masseuse will call your name and bring you in the side room. Then you lie on your back on the table and get the ultimate scrub down! I felt so much lighter after the scrub. My skin tone was even and felt baby soft. Then she also give you a cucumber facial and wash your hair for you! My hair was super silky and smooth. They have dyson hair dryers in the women locker rooms which made it easy for me to get ready. Then, when I was ready to checkout, I brought the clothes and wristband to the front desk and I was out of there!

However, an employee named Minwoo stepped in to help, and he really stood out. He seemed like a manager, not necessarily by title, but because he was noticeably more professional and kind than the other front desk staff. He carefully went over each of my reserved services and explained how to prepare and where to go in a very clear and easy-to-understand way. It made the whole experience much smoother, especially for a first-time visit. After using the sauna, I spent time in the co-ed jimjilbang area, which had a relaxing and authentic atmosphere. I also received a skincare treatment and an acupressure service, and both were very satisfying. Later, I had a meal at the restaurant with friends, and we went up to the rooftop to get some fresh air. The patio area was nicely set up, and the cool breeze made it a perfect place to relax and unwind. Overall, it was a very solid experience, and I would definitely come back, just maybe during a less busy time.

I love how many different sauna rooms they have--each one has its own vibe, from super hot and detoxifying to calm and relaxing. It's easy to spend hours just rotating between them, soaking, and cooling off without ever getting bored. The hot baths are especially amazing after a long day. Everything is kept really clean, and the space feels well taken care of, which makes a huge difference when you're trying to relax. The vibe is lowkey and peaceful, not pretentious at all. Also, don't skip the food. Eating Korean comfort food in a robe after sweating it out just hits different. Shoutout to Minu as well--super kind and helpful, which made the whole experience even better. Perfect spot for a solo reset day or even a chill hang with friends. I always leave feeling refreshed, lighter, and way less stressed. Definitely worth it.

You could tell she was very thoughtful with her touch and technique throughout the entire session. She was quiet, professional, and gave the perfect amount of pressure during both the massage and scrub, especially on the pressure points. Everything flowed so smoothly and felt incredibly relaxing. My 1.5 hour massage honestly felt like 2 hours in the best way possible because I was so relaxed and immersed in the experience. My skin felt incredibly soft and rejuvenated afterward. I especially loved the hot honey milk she poured and massaged into my body. It felt absolutely amazing and made the experience feel extra luxurious and calming. Although Hugh Spa is on the smaller side, it still has enough amenities to enjoy and unwind. The only thing I wish they had was an ice bath, but they do have an ice room which definitely helps. Also, the front staff was very sweet, welcoming, and kind from the moment I walked in, which made the experience even better. Thank you Hugh Spa for finally making me believe in massages again. The woman doing my treatment (unfortunately didn't catch her name) was amazing and the overall experience was incredible. Before my scrub, I spent about 30 minutes in the steam sauna, which I'd definitely recommend because it helps prep your skin and gives you the best results from the scrub. The body scrub itself was definitely an experience. If it's your first time, don't go in expecting it to be super relaxing because it's pretty intense and certain parts can feel rougher than others. But the results are absolutely worth it. My skin has honestly never felt so smooth and soft. All of the dry, dead skin was completely gone afterward and my skin felt unbelievably clean, hydrated, and refreshed. The spa itself is a little smaller than some of the other Korean spas I've been to, but it was still very clean, nice, and had all the essentials like the sauna, Himalayan salt room, and other relaxation rooms. Spa entry is included with your treatment purchase, and you could honestly spend the whole day there if you wanted to. There's also a traditional Korean kitchen inside that had really good food. Overall such a fun experience and definitely worth trying at least once.

My friend and I booked the Goddess package, which is the most complete. You arrive early to soak in the hot tubs (which were not as hot as my last review indicated), and then are taken back to the wet massage area. After a very thorough scrub and wash, you are massaged, and you also have your hair washed, and they do an anti-aging face mask. It was about $220, which is a little more expensive than I remember, but that's about an hour and forty-five minutes of service. I did feel like if I went back, I'd probably try one of the shorter services. You don't have to have cash for a tip, because they put the tip on your bill, and you can pay with your credit card. I didn't hang out in any of the saunas, just in the mood for a hot tub. They did have a nice, tranquil outside area as well. Also, they had a cafe that had some snacks and water, and also a sign saying you can order food. I didn't get the name of the person who did my service, but she was great! She was very friendly.

Olympic used to have mugwort soak, places to scrub yourself and to get to know the community. They had mats readily available to lie in the heated floor and the best broccoli dish at the restaurant. And they were $30 foot a simple soak. You learned to whisper, shower before dipping, and to put up long hair while getting to know about Korean bathing culture. It was a ritual experience. No more mugwort, scrubbing stools, or mats, or restaurant. Now it's $60 to go to a place with seemingly Caucasian women's silhouettes on all the literature, Costco granola bars and plastic wrapped fruit. There was obviously a strategy in changing the business model to cater to rich white ladies. I can't be mad at them for wanting to make a buck. But now it's less homey Korean spa and more whitewashed and sterile. Again, you do you. It was just a big change in vibe and cost. The new ice room and patio are fantastic. They kept the buckwheat tea. It's still sparkling clean. But for the new price, the trade off is not worth it. I'll go to another K spa that enriches my body, and desire to be a student and supporter of the Korean community.
