The atmosphere was calm and respectful, and the staff was wonderful. Helen did my scrub and did an excellent job (on the harsher side, which I loved). The gentleman at the front desk was very polite and friendly. I immediately recommended this place to my group chat and will definitely be back. I really enjoyed this spa. It was my first time at a Korean spa. The spa was co-ed, so my husband got tag along. We got a couples relaxation massage. The massages are deep. My husband loved it. The massages are a little rough, so I asked for them to be a little softer. But, I'm kinda a baby with massages, like I don't book deep tissue type of massages. The masseuse went on top of my back on all fours lol. I started laughing when she did that, she started to giggle too. I told my husband she was so petite I didn't mind it. The spa areas were very clean and aesthetically pleasing. I didn't bring a bathing suit, so I couldn't use the co-ed area which looked so peaceful and relaxing. The spa offered shorts for men, so my husband utilized the co-ed hot tubs. He said he was the only person in the co-ed area and men's side. In the women's area, where they had the hit tubs, women are nude. So, it's a little stressful at first because I never been to a spa where people are nude. But, I eventually got comfortable and enjoyed the hot tubs. The women's are that had the clay room, salt room, and sauna required robes. That area was so relaxing. Came on a weekday morning which is much quieter and rooms/jacuzzis are smaller in comparison to some of the other Korean spas I've been to (i.e. IrvineSpa, KSpa in Buena Park). This is great if you want it quiet. Not a place you come with a bunch of friends that want to socialize. $3 validated parking for the Central Plaza parking garage right across from it. Came when they had 50% off admission which was $25 but seemed overpriced if you are a guy. Pros: -Unlimited Reishi mushroom tea. They also have water and coffee everywhere. -Large sized towel, robe, slippers in the locker. -3 jacuzzis (Himalayan salt, alkaline, citrus) , wet sauna (love that it's like a fog/mist and not shower sprayers!), dry sauna, and 3 specialized rooms (Infrared, salt, and mud room w small heated balls which was my favorite). All was great, but wish there was a cold pool in the women's area too. Cons/Room for improvement: -Though they now have a clothed, co-ed section, it is underwhelming. -The jacuzzi was warm, not hot. -There was a waterfall pool but was very shallow and also just warm. -Cold Plunge is a 5 ft. deep pool that had a rickety ladder to get in/out of. It would've been nice if it had a seat. -The wet and dry saunas were off and took a while to turn on, but never got hot. My guy friend gave feedback on the men's locker room: -no restroom inside -no sinks inside - no sit down showers which the women's side has If I were a guy, I wouldn't come just for the spa as it just feels like a side amenity. A now CO-ED day spa in Koreatown, Spa LA is a large underground jjimjilbang with a bevy of different treatments and saunas. My wife and I visited on a weekday, with the service and sessions being good. Spa LA recently finished a large renovation/expansion resulting in the opening of a co-ed in early 2026. Previously, it was female only, with my wife/daughter coming for a mom/daughter spa day when we were still living in Santa Monica. This time, I wanted to treat my wife to a Simply Classic Body Scrub ($125 for one hour) and Mini Facial ($85 for 30 minutes), booking it on-line. They open at 9:00 am, so figured we could come a bit early for the appointments starting at 10:00. We took the train, and it was an easy walk from Normandie station on the Purple (D) Line. Once entering, the check-in desk is right in front. The attendant could be doing a tour, so need to wait until they come back. There are specials to reduce the price a bit and the knowledgeable front staff (Angela) helped us to apply what was applicable. The main one (follow them on Instagram) was to get 20% off a full facial for my wife, which also resulted in my entrance fee being reduced by half ($50 drops to $25, with wife fee being waived since she was having a treatment). The facial change required changing of the reservation times and esthetician availability, but it was no big deal (so must have good availability of staff for same day changes). You pay first with credit card, allowing a tip to be added later (though like most places, cash is preferred directly to the provider). We were both given locker keys that went around our wrists, and then Angela gave a tour of the underground facilities, focusing on the co-ed sections that I would use. Swimwear is mandatory for the co-ed sections, with the female section being exclusively no-swimwear (provided robes only, and au-naturelle in the spas). I was the only person (besides my wife) using the co-ed facilities during the 4 hours I was there. This meant 1). I could take pictures to post here 2). I could imagine the whole quiet place was mine, definitely making the $25 charge worth it for me. The spa closes at 9 pm, so one could spend the whole day if one want to. The male locker room was a typical set-up, with my locker containing slippers (so no need to bring your own), light robe, and towels. There is a large common area where they intend to put in a light snack bar in the future....for now, it is pretty barren. The centerpiece of the area is a foot-deep waterfall fountain, where you can lounge. I really liked the constant sound of moving water that it produced. There is a very large deep whirlpool and cold/ice water plunge pool (no thx). The steam sauna was fully prepped, with enough steam to make visibility non-existent...I could only last about 4 minutes at a time there. The dry sauna was pleasant, but not particularly hot, with the machine not producing much heat (the controls are out of the customer's hands). There are filtered water stations everywhere, private bathrooms which were nice, and cold water showers to rinse (before and after). Phones ARE allowed, with a decent private Wi-Fi (ask the attendant for the password, since cellular doesn't work down there). My wife went to the female section after checking out the co-ed area, and later told me the female-only area has a lot more facilities/treatments, including many different types of pools: akaline, citrus, mineral. As for the treatments, my wife later told me that both the esthetician (Michelle) and the masseuse (Helen) were very skilled, and took their job very seriously. My wife likes whole body scrubs in general, and knew what to expect. As for the full facial, it ended up being a bit too painful for her, so thinking if she does it again, a mini one would be more appropriate. read more

The perfect Korean spa doesn't exis--- Let me preface this by saying I'm something of a K-town spa connoisseur. They're affordable, fun, and the perfect escape from a busy life. I've been to a bunch of others (Olympic, Hugh, etc.) and so far, this one is my favorite. Maybe I got lucky by being there at 10 a.m. on a Monday, but there was hardly anyone else in there. Literally I had an entire hour without anyone else in the wet room. As a person who intensely dislikes chatty Cathys and wants my spa time to be an oasis away from social demands, this was heaven. So quiet. I also liked that there were three "warm" pools to choose from (of varying temperatures), two of which had nice strong jets. I didn't bother with the co-ed area (on the recommendation of the staff!). The steam room was also nice, not too hot and with a very mild eucalyptus scent. I personally don't like "red" (infrared) rooms (if I want to sit and bake like a potato, I'll just go outside--it's summer in L.A.), but I loved the "clay" room--so cozy and warm, and not as hot as the Himalayan salt room (I only lasted about 7 minutes in there). The "Ion" room is really just a normal room temperature room, but the sound of running water makes it a nice place to rest & cool off. I wish there was a cold plunge, but honestly, everything else was so good it wasn't a big deal. I also had a massage with Rose. In the vein of K-town massages, the massage had a lot of pressure, but I like that. It's not a good massage if you don't feel it the next day, is all I'm sayin'. I always feel rubbery and loose afterwards. She also asked me at various points if I was OK or if it was too much pressure--always appreciated. A+ massage. There wasn't any food there (if you're hoping for a cafe, it's unusual for K-town spas to offer anything, especially on weekdays), but they had free coffee, water, and mushroom tea. Also, make sure you park in the garage off Mariposa, because it's only $3 with validation. I accidentally went into the wrong garage and it was like $6 for the 15 minutes I was parked there. I enjoy coming here for a routine scrub and massage! Their facilities are very clean and their amenities rooms are a delight to utilize. I typically go there during the weekdays, and it is usually not so busy it feels like I have the spa all to myself! My only recommendation I have for Spa La would be having simple products for use in the area with the hairdryers and mirror area, i.e., moisturizer, hairspray, mouthwash etc. Otherwise, I am eager for my next visit. read more

I went on a Saturday morning and parking was easy at the lot right next to the Spa. It's nice because the spa will validate for 6 hours and there are lots of good restaurants within walking distance! The spa itself was clean and peaceful, the early morning was not busy at all with only 2-4 more people present. There are three warm-hot soaking pools, one steam room, and one dry sauna room. I wish they had a cold plunge pool because I do enjoy going between the hot and cold temperatures, but I just rinsed off with a cold shower to get a similar effect. The dry rooms were warm and quiet, the clay ball room was my favorite. I also got a refresher facial and it was surprisingly painful and not as relaxing. The aesthetician really used her nails to scratch my head and squeezed my head/pressed certain focal points of my neck and face with a lot of pressure. My cheeks were sore for days. I will not be getting a facial again, but if you want a very strong massage of your face/head then maybe this is for you...I would come back and maybe try a massage, but the staff was friendly and the facility was clean! read more

Just got back from an amazing day at Spa LA! I'll admit, I was a little nervous when I heard they switched to a co-ed format, but no worries, there is still a women-only section. I arrived around 10 AM and it was pretty quiet, maybe six other people total. Staff were walking guests through the new co-ed area, and honestly, it's beautiful. I would come back just to hang out there. The co-ed section allows bathing suits, but the women-only area is still no-clothing. While I was there, I noticed staff constantly cleaning and checking temperatures, which I really appreciated. I got the Simply Sugar Scrub and it was amazing. I didn't catch the name of the woman who did mine, but she was so good, totally worth the money. They also have an $85 scrub-only package if you don't want a massage or hair wash. The only downside was a group of ladies talking loudly, but I did see a staff member ask them to lower their voices. Tip: If you're a bigger woman like me, you can ask for a larger robe! read more

I loved the vibes of this spa! It was super relaxing. I have never been to a Korean spa so it was a bit of a culture shock. I got the Lavender Scrub and it came with a facial, scalp massage, body scrub, and regular massage. I almost fell asleep with how peaceful it was. My friends and I enjoyed all of the sauna rooms and baths. My favorite was the clay room I underestimated how deep it was. They offer free coffee, tea and water in the lobby. Additionally, they have an area to blow dry your hair and do makeup etc after enjoying the amenities. The only downside is that near the end of our visit we noticed roaches in the entrance to the saunas. :(((( read more

It was a confusing to get to at first, the address routed me to the Bank of America on Wilshire which was incorrect, once I walked around the block - I found out where it was. I wish there were more detailed instructions on the website on how to get there. Check in was easy, got my own locker and was given instructions on where to go downstairs. It is on the bottom floor, so no windows. The service was amazing! I booked the Aphrodite with Wendy. I would come back just for that! I also really liked the mushroom tea that was provided in the sitting area. I didn't get a chance to try out all the rooms but was thankful they marked each room by order number. I was originally looking for a massage place when i came across this place. I was so glad i did! I tried the basic facial and added a neck massage. The massage was great, they don't prick but i felt rejuvenated. My neck/shoulder pain improved a lot but did not totally go away. It was only 15 mins of neck massage so, i thought it was good. The price was fairly reasonable - I paid $120 total for both. You can add the tip when you pay or bring cash; i opted for cash since I wasn't sure what kind of service they will give. Worth every penny! Parking is not an issue since right across the place. Since I just walked in, I wasn't prepared to use the facility, Looking back, I should have. Place is super clean. I've been here a few times before and it seems cleaner now than on my last visit (which is a good thing). This spa is basic and not unlike many of the neighborhood spas I found in Korea, small and efficient, not lush or posh. The 3 "hot tubs" of varying temperatures were all comfortable, too bad one isn't hotter and one isn't significantly colder. Various rooms for detoxing and cooling down include; mud clay ball room, himalayan salt room, infrared sauna, negative ion room, dry hinoki sauna, steam sauna. I booked a facial massage for $175 for my mom (on mothers day) We had an early appointment and was one of the first people to arrive there at 9am. They gave us our key & showed us where to go downstairs. My mom opened her locker.. and there was a ROACH in it. I alerted the cleaning lady, and the people upstairs. I requested for top lockers at this point. So they kindly made the switch for us. After that, we were trying to relax and enjoy it but no one killed the roach. They just closed the locker. My mom and I are very OCD especially about roaches. So after she finished her facial we just rinsed off and left immediately. Definitely will not be back. I managed to snag an appointment on the weekend and went by myself bc a Korean body scrub is a solo adventure unless that's a bucket list item with your friends. Do not do this unless you're comfortable being in your birthday suit in the pool area or if you aren't wearing your glasses. I didn't have my glasses on most of the time so that made this even easier. You get a key (shower, towels, and slippers), hop in the shower, and then you have the option of the steam or sauna, jacuzzi of varying degrees and benefits, and the all the detox zones. Follow the first timer guide depending on your chosen treatments and try their homemade reishi tea, I would dilute it if you're not a tea drinker. Turn off your phone and turn it back on if you get the SOS signal. There's a co-ed area but I did not go into that side. We were led downstairs, given lockers, robes, slippers, and shown the different amenities. We loved the detox rooms. We both had the Cleopatra in Honey massage. It was the best experience of a treatment ever. I've never done a Korean Spa treatment before. Wow, this was my first time at a Korean spa and... I left feeling better than ever. The sleep I had that night might've been the best sleep of my life lmao. I got the Seaweed Detox (appointment was around 3p and I arrived around 1:40p to fully experience all the jacuzzis and sauna rooms before heading into my treatment. I loved that this was women only, so I was automatically comfortable. I will note that it has been awhile since I've been to a public gym (which was my last experience with freely being naked and around other naked people lol) but honestly, Spa LA was such a judgement-free zone and for that alone, I appreciate it. There are plenty of showers and everyone gives each other enough space to shower, get dressed, etc. (unless your lockers so happen to be right next to each other.) Ruby was the one who performed my Seaweed Detox and just wowwww - she definitely knew what she was doing! It came with the body scrub, seaweed body wrap, massage, light head massage, mini facial massage, face mask - it was well worth every penny. I'd definitely try to do this as a monthly treat! Who doesn't love a spa day?! We decided to try this place out after searching Yelp for a good spa while we were visiting the area. What we liked the best about the Yelp search were the prices! You can get a good massage or facial for well under $200. And they have more amenities than other spas including co-ed cold plunge and jacuzzi. This place used to be only for women and has only recently become co-ed. The reason I gave 4 stars is mainly because there were some amenities only available to women such as the Himalayan salt room, mud room and negative ion room. The deep tissue massage I got was amazing it was well worth the price and I felt amazing afterward. This is a spa I would definitely come back to. read more

I usually go there for the sauna and steam room, but I also very much enjoy and appreciate the clay room and the Himalayan salt room; they're so relaxing and help me reset. -- but they also have excellent treatments and massages if you ever want to treat yourself a bit more. Spa LA is the only one that truly lives up to my standards. I go about three times a week now and it never disappoints. They recently opened a co-ed area too, which is perfect for couples or friends who want to enjoy a spa day together. The co-ed side has a sauna, steam room, hot tub, and even a cafeteria -- everything you need for a full, relaxing day. Unlike traditional Korean spas, this one primarily focuses female only services (males can book massages), but they are planning to expand with men's section in the future. I had a body scrub, and it was excellent, thorough and refreshing as new born skin. The basic scrub package was $125, which included a full-body exfoliation, hair wash, and mini facial; which is a good rate compared to Spa Palace. While it doesn't have all the amenities of larger spas, the quality of service makes it worth a visit. read more

I had a really soothing and relaxing time the lady who walked us around was so sweet and really nice! The tea is really refreshing! I loved the steam room despite the first time going in was slightly overwhelming from all the steam but the smell was so relaxing I wasn't sure if it was eucalyptus but it was so nice! Took myself on a little staycation and wandered into this women's Korean spa on a whim. Even though I've been to a few before, let's be honest there's always that "wait... I'm really about to be naked with strangers?" moment. Spoiler: you get over it in about 30 seconds. Once you've showered, slipped into a robe, and stepped into the Himalayan salt spa, all you'll be thinking about is how fast your stress is melting away. The place is basically a choose-your-own-adventure of relaxation: dry rooms, wet rooms, and plenty of spots to detox, sweat, and recharge. I treated myself to the Refresher facial, which was less "fluff and pamper" and more "life reset." Every pore on my face got a deep clean while my lymphatic system was massaged into bliss. I left with skin so fresh I swear it had its own personality. I'll be back for facials on repeat and yes, the V-steam is next on my list. Shoutout to Nadia at the front desk, who gave me a tour and all the insider tips (like the $2.99 parking for six hours perfect if you want to grab food after without stressing about your car). Everything's numbered, so you can easily wander from sauna to spa to lounge without feeling lost. Don't forget to take a moment and indulge in a cup of immunity boosting tea between rooms. Bottom line: it had been way too long since I truly relaxed like this. Do yourself a favor ditch the overthinking, ditch the stress, and just go. I rarely leave reviews, but my experience at SPA LA was poor enough that I feel others should know what to expect - especially since it caused my friend a sciatic nerve injury. My friend received a deep tissue massage, and the masseuse was not only extremely fast but aggressively rough. She even stepped on my friend's back in improper positions, which resulted in sciatic nerve displacement. This has caused long-term pain and ongoing injury -- she is still dealing with the effects. What made it worse is that the spa never reimbursed us, never offered compensation, and never even called back despite us reporting what happened. This level of negligence is unacceptable. Amenities - Below Standards The amenities were extremely sub-par for the price. The robes provided were cheap, thin, and visibly stained -- genuinely unpleasant to wear. The waist tie wouldn't even hold because the fabric was so flimsy. They also only provided one small, thin towel that wasn't even enough to dry off properly. At reputable spas, you're given fresh towels before and after treatments. Here, they reused the same towel we used to dry off prior to our service, instead of providing a clean one. That alone reflects a lack of care and hygiene. At the hair-drying/get-ready station, the brushes were filled with old hair. There were no antibacterial sprays, wipes, or UV sanitizing tools anywhere in sight. For a spa, this level of cleanliness (or lack thereof) is extremely disappointing and honestly unsanitary. "Simply Classic" Treatment Review While the oil used during the treatment was pleasant, almost everything else was far from relaxing. The body scrub cloth was far rougher than what higher-end spas use, and the scrubbing was so harsh that my friend had skin literally peeled off during her session. The massage component felt rushed and careless -- at one point, the masseuse was pulling my hair while "massaging" my scalp. To top it off, my shampoo and conditioner weren't even rinsed out properly. I had to take an additional shower afterward just to get the product out, which completely defeats the purpose of the oil treatment. DO BETTER!!! Between the poor amenities, lack of hygiene, rough and unsafe service, and zero accountability after causing a real injury, this was not worth the time or money. Went here for my birthday. Treat myself with relaxing spa and massage. I really enjoy this spa place. They have different hot jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. They also have different rooms to relax after going in jacuzzi and sauna. They have signs where to start. I really enjoy the massage even though it's kinda hard but I needed because my neck and traps are very tight and there's knots. Also, if you're looking for place to go with girl friends this is really great. Definitely coming back here. Parking is not free but they validate. It's hard to look for street parking so it better just to pay for the parking. read more

Spa LA is a great place to relax and unwind. The overall atmosphere is clean, calming, and well maintained -- perfect for resetting and taking a break from everything. I especially loved the facialist, Michelle. She truly has magic hands and made the experience feel extra special. That said, my only downside was the difference between the women's and men's sides. I brought my whole family as a treat, and while the women's side had plenty to enjoy, the men's side felt a lot more limited with fewer rooms and amenities. Because of that, the guys didn't enjoy it as much, which was a bit disappointing. I'm glad we went on a weekday and were able to take advantage of the half-off pricing, which made it more worth it. Overall, the girls all had a great time and would definitely come back, but the guys said they probably wouldn't. read more

My first time here! Now they are very hidden.I thought my uber driver dropped us off at the wrong spot and was ready to dispute a charge. I ended up calling them because my appointment time was coming up and i didn't want to be late. I called and spoke to Angela who was very delightful and, sweet on the phone made me feel better, and told me no worries they will see us soon. I had to call her back because me and my mom couldn't find it, it turns out they are in the back where the parking garage is. After we found it and walked in baby I was stress. I needed the massage more than ever now lmao. I told Angela thank you so much I was stress I couldn't find it. Again, Angela was super sweet and nice I was ready to start my massage. She gave us directions and showed us to our lockers. The ambiance of the spa is very relaxing and clean. They even have where you can take a photo if you like me and moms took advantage of it. I had Sarah for my massage and it was wonderful I couldn't even get up to get my facial. I was so relax and high on that massage. Next time I'll do the facial then my massage. Cyndi was the one who did my facial afterwards I looked so bright and relax. I would definitely come again it was a huge experience for me and my mom. We went here as a group of 5 girls to celebrate my birthday on a Monday. It was definitely the experience I was hoping for except I could have used a real firm massage. My skin was def exfoliated. I felt like a dead fish getting de scaled - I mean that in a good way. The only complaint I have is that it was really cold in between the periodic hot water being thrown on me while I was having the treatment done. I booked a Swedish massage for 1:00pm and arrived at 11am to enjoy the sauna / spa first Pros: there was no one really there so, it was nice to enjoy the clay room and red light sauna alone. The citrus bath was my favorite. Cons: the hot water for the showers were broken. We were not informed prior to paying. The massage started at 1:20. The massage was deep tissue, not Swedish. The only soft pressure was this weird tapping on my butt, making slapping sounds. It wasn't a wet room massage but I was still completely uncovered for a portion of the back massage, aside from a towel on my neck. At the end of my massage my chest/breasts were massaged...I never had a masseuse touch me like that...so I just froze up. Then the envelope for tip had a red heart on it. Fantastic experience at Spa LA! From booking appointments (which we called as we had questions) to the end of service, all was seamless with great customer service. We enjoyed the co-ed area first (jacuzzi, sauna, etc.) and then went our separate ways for body scrubs. I truly enjoyed the women's facilities as the area was clean, relaxing and had everything you may need. You do receive a key to a locker when you sign in so all your belongings are stored away safely. To top it off -- the body scrub, massage and hair wash experience was perfect!!
