Pause has a very clean facility and the private rooms have both infrared sauna and ice bath. The yoga sauna gets more hot than the others. The atmosphere is very tranquil. They also have magnesium pods and offer IV therapy. Everyone is very nice. I recommend Pause if this is your kind of thing. read more

I recently tried the plunge and sauna session at Pause, and absolutely loved it! The plunge equipment is very clean and easy to use. I had no issues getting in or out of the plunge. Their saunas are lovely, with bluetooth hookups as well as lighting hookups. I love that the rooms are separated for privacy and that there are showers in each room. Plenty of sauna-based services I've used did not have showers available. Definitely a plus! The only thing I'd change is the source of heat from the saunas. I feel like an infrared option would be amazing! Devante was the worker who prepped me for the plunge & sauna. He was extremely helpful! Will definitely return! Tried float therapy for the first time a month ago and went again last weekend. Pause is very clean and all the staff were helpful. I was walked through the timing, the process and what to expect for a first timer and off I went. They have two different options - one where you climb in to a smallish 'egg' and then a bigger/taller room. I actually liked the smaller one better but realize some people may have claustrophobia so the other option might be better. You can adjust the light and music depending on your needs and then drift off to your happy place. The surprise to me was that this experience really helped my neck decompress and for the price was better than going to a chiropractor. If nothing else a cool new experience if you haven't tried and it made me remember the old movie Altered States. read more

This was an interesting experience that I have been looking forward to. Although there are two different locations-this one and West Hollywood (and soon to be third SouthBay area)-the current two have slightly different offerings where Venice has light therapy, but West Hollywood has cryotherapy. Venice won out this round because even though both have float pods, only Venice has a float 'room', so this is where I knew I wanted to be. When I walked in the door, there were a couple people in front of me checking in but I didn't have to wait long. Nick greeted me as soon as he finished with another customer, and he was happy to show me around the premises, in addition to answering any questions I had that he didn't address already. If you're in this float chamber area (Float Three), note there is a baby step to the shower so you don't go stumbling into the wall. Otherwise, this is a rather tight space, so make sure you hang all your stuff so it doesn't get wet from the shower area, or when you get out of the tank (even with a towel on the floor outside, you'll make a mess). Rinsed quickly, put in my earplugs (they have a fresh pair laying there right by the door), then lowered myself into the salt water. It is quite slippery, so hold onto the door handle if necessary. Initially, it was odd adjusting to natural buoyancy (I hope I used that word correctly here), and I could hear the trickling of water from somewhere as the spa music eventually took over. I almost felt 'lifted', which is the best way to describe the experience. During this time, I shut off the lights, then eventually the music as well to have complete sensory deprivation, which I found to be the most relaxing. If I bumped into the lower side of the tank during my float, it was fun to push back up; just make sure you keep your arms above your head so you don't go crashing head-first into the opposite wall. If you're small like me, there is quite a lot of space to float within. The only thing I was concerned about was if I would hear the 'announcement' to get out once my time was up. I did begin to get a little restless since you really do lose track of time in there, but I heard a voice patch through eventually which gives you a few minutes before you evacuate the space. As I showered all that salt off, the water does recirculate which was cool to watch. As I pointed out before, this is a tiny space, and it gets HOT and HUMID in there due to the obvious: water. Bring loose fitting clothing; as putting on skinny jeans/leggings will feel absolutely disgusting after. I even cracked the door open as I dressed, but it wouldn't stay open. No hair dryers (although West Hollywood seems to have them), and they only had one towel/washcloth in there. Thankfully I had brought my own hair towel after reading some reviews here so I was prepared. I went to the sitting area right outside across from the LED light therapy room, and it felt refreshing and much cooler there after being in a confined space. Incense was burning, but there wasn't any tea, and quite frankly, I was too warm from the experience overall so I didn't really need it. Checked out with the same friendly guy Nick from before, and a receipt was emailed. It was $69 for my first float, then it's $75 on subsequent visits. I enjoyed my time here, and look forward to visiting their other locations. read more

I only tried the contrast therapy here (sauna and cold plunge), and I can't speak as to the other services, although we found the staff friendly and the premises clean. As for the contrast therapy, we got what we booked, i.e., a large room containing a sauna, a cold plunge, and a shower. The only reason I'm giving 3 stars instead of 5 stars is that the sauna didn't get very hot. The likely reason is that it's an infraredsauna, and they just don't get that hot. It's a shame, as the whole point of contrast therapy is to get really hot in the sauna, then really cold in the cold plunge, and repeat. That being said, the sauna still reached around 160 degrees. Not in the 180 to 200 range I was hoping for, but still pretty warm. If they upgrade the saunas here, the contrast therapy will be amazing! read more

Today was my first time doing a flotation session and it was a great experience. I have heard many great things about the health benefits of sensory tanks so I've been wanting to experience one for a long time. I was worried that my height, 6'3", would mean I was too big for the tank but that was not the case. Ian was also very polite and walked me through the whole experience and what to expect. They offer many services but today I booked the sensory tank to recover from some long, recent hikes and workouts. They selected the pod for me and I was able to fit in it although if you are 5'9" or shorter it would be especially pleasant because you would touch the edges less as you float around. The water is extremely dense with salt so you don't need a pillow you float right on the top. I suggest turning off the lights and music as floating in darkness and silence is transportive. Make sure to keep the ear plugs in the entire float session and keep a hand towel inside the tank on the handle in case you need to wipe your face. Also another bonus that after you get out your skin is especially smooth. As I was showering and finishing up I can verify that the machine cycles the water through as I watched it work. Overall great experience and I plan to try it again in the near future. read more

Ugh I'm so bummed to have not loved it here! I did a 1 hour contrast therapy with my boyfriend which was really great. I was a little surprised by the lack of amenities for the cost. For instance, they don't have a place to fill up a water bottle which is a must for using a sauna. There is a spot to shower off after but it's super bare bones - there is no body lotion, bath mats, wash closets, face wash etc so getting dressed afterward was a pretty unpleasant experience. The most disappointing part was that one of the staff members walked into our room half way through the treatment. We were both butt naked so that was pretty unfortunate for us. We mentioned it to the front desk gal when checking out and she just laughed and said it was an accident. I love doing fancy stuff and anything wellness related but you can get a day pass for $100 to Hume down the street where they have a full gym, sauna, steam room, cold plunge, fully stocked shower and locker room. I would totally come back and do the float experience but I wouldn't come back for the contrast therapy. read more

I went in a few months ago (Nov 2023) for the salt bath and I was disappointed. Once I was inside the bath the music wasn't working. It was no way to get the front desk as by that time you are naked. Also I kept getting salt in my eyes and it get super stingy so I had to go and shower 2.3 times to rinse my eyes out. It was only a small towel to dry off. I was bummed out because I got a gift card from my friend for my birthday and I was expecting something really relaxing as I heard of Pause for a while. It was the location in Washington Blvd. I wish the front desk was explaining how it works better and check in at some point. We had an appointment at 7pm and was able to get parking in the front. As before, the staff was great and got us in the pods on time. Gave us a quick explanation and we're off. The first Float session I had was years ago (not Pause) and they made us watch an intro video with testimonies about "finding the real you". Haha. I mean, I didn't get that, but I was definitely relaxed during and long after the session. The staff makes you feel comfortable and this location is clean and well furnished. Worth checking out! I was highly disappointed with this place. I purchased an extremely expensive packet of NAD+ from them. After having a severe back injury that left me laid out for 8 months, I reached out to them to continue my NAD+ treatments. I was told my "packet expired". Contrast therapy was a great experience. I planned this as a date with my boyfriend to try something new. I booked a room which has a cold plunge tub (way smaller than an actual tub), sauna room, and shower. Love that it's private. We arrived about 2 mins after our appointment time (note: there is only street parking and it's a very busy street), signed in and signed waivers. Our room wasn't ready so we had to wait about 10 minutes until the hostess brought us to our room. It was $100 for an hour and $30 for an extra person. She set the timer in the sauna to 70 minutes to make up for the 10 minutes we waited which was nice. You also get 10 minutes to shower after the timer is up. The sauna was super clean and comfortable. It only got up to 143 degrees. I personally would have liked if it got hotter. They recommend you do 10 minutes in the sauna and 2-4 minutes in the cold plunge depending on your experience. This was my first time doing a cold plunge and it was one of the most unique feelings and experiences I have ever had. When I did my first round in the cold plunge, it felt like I couldn't breathe for the first few seconds I was in the water. I have never felt my body go into shock like that but after a few seconds of my body realizing I'm okay and willingly doing this myself, I was able to catch my breathe and feel just how cold the water was. There was also a very distinct chemical smell I remember not liking. My brain felt like it was in flight mode telling me to get the heck out of there but the mental fight against that is worth it (after a few rounds). I was shivering intensely and lasted only a minute. Not sure if it was my bones but there was this deep aching pain all throughout my body that was very unpleasant so I got out. Also another shock. My body shook for about 30 seconds after getting out and going into the sauna. My second round was a lot better. I didn't lose my breath this time and lasted 2 minutes. I could not have done it without pep talking myself the entire time. Yeah there are physical benefits to the cold plunge but I was very much looking forward to the mental challenge of forcing myself to endure something hard. Third round was by far the best. I lasted 4 minutes. After the 3 minute mark, I stopped shivering and I definitely felt a shift. It felt like my body stopped resisting. I felt calm as my body stopped shaking. Once I passed 4 minutes, the aching pain came back and started to feel unbearable so I got out. The water temp was 53 degrees Fahrenheit. CON: one major con about this experience was the size of the cold plunge tub. I'm 5'5" and could not stretch my legs out all the way. My boyfriend is 6'3" so it was impossible for him to sit on his butt in the tub and he was disappointed by that. It's about half the size of a normal tub but deeper than a typical tub. The shower is pretty big and the soap smells divine. They provided 4 towels, 2 wash cloths, makeup remover wipes and cotton swabs. We checked out after our session and were on our way. Do not come here! Worst customer experience and they are stealing money from customers. Backstory: I bought a 10 pack for sauna and plunge, and after me going a handful of times they told me I was done with them. I wasn't counting exactly how many times I had been there so I trusted the information was right. They asked if I wanted to buy another package (this time a 5 pack) since I had finished them. I agreed. Come to find out that apparently I HAD NOT finished my 10 pack and they just sold me an unnecessary package. I told them I didn't need the extra package since the information they gave me was wrong. The manager Jackie kept insisting that I must have bought the 5 pack since it was on special after I told her 10 times that I bought it because they told me I was done with my 10 pack. She kept repeating herself and I asked her if she could just convert the packages to IV drips since they gave me wrong information. She refused. Clearly they must not being doing well if they are lying about packages being up when they aren't and aren't willing to convert packages. Donated the money to them as a charity act since apparently it's operation isn't doing well. read more

I had such an incredible float here yesterday! It was my second float overall and it was a really tremendous experience. The facility itself promoted a really peaceful atmosphere which I think is so important! The front desk staff were calm and friendly and I spoke with both Gray and Shawn afterwards who were lovely. It's super clean and when the time came I was taken to the float room where I was able to shower and then go to the float tank. I chose the larger room and not just the pod because I like a bit more space. The tank is supremely clean and the lights and music were easy to control. I was able to sink completely into the experience and no kidding had an unexpected spiritual experience. At first I heard my heart beat a lot (feels like I'm back in the womb!) but then that subsided and it was just blank. Felt like I was in outer space in a way. My neck decompressed and popped briefly (free adjustment!) And that's when the spiritual experience started. I saw flashes in my mind of a deceased family member who assured me all was well and I felt a way that I can't remember feeling since I was really young. It felt like the purest youngest part of me. It was amazing, truly. Like a complete spiritual reset! I left feeling so serene and really restored. After my nervous system feeling so sedated it was honestly really rough getting back out into LA traffic haha! I highly recommend this place and I will be back. It took me places I totally did not expect and brought me back to center. The endorphin boost was undeniable as well and I really can't remember the last time I felt this good. I hate to do this because I've been coming to Pause since it opened, but on my most recent visit I was disgusted by the condition of the water in the pod. It was dark yellow, like urine. It looked like sewage, though it didn't have a smell. When I asked the nice lady at the front desk what the heck was wrong--the water has always been crystal clear in my past visits--she said it was probably oxidation and not to worry. Unfortunately when you're submerging your naked body in water, you really need that water to be sanitary. Whatever is causing this problem, it isn't sanitary. If it really is oxidation, they should clean out the tanks more often or replace the filters so customers (who are paying a lot for this treatment) don't have to be subjected to this. I checked the other two pods that were open and they both had the same dirty water. I'd advise anyone going here to ask when the last time the water was completely changed in the pod before they float. Are they inspected by the health department? Is there any kind of certification from any agency that the water has been tested to be clean? I don't know. And to be fair, the other half dozen times I've visited, the water has been clear. But this just blew me away. read more

Downside is that two of their rooms smells like sewage (maybe it s temporary?) And their cleaning crew doesn't seem to be doing a very thorough job. Came here for a 30 minute infrared sauna and a cold plunge and even though this is not the four seasons hotel or the Bellagio in Las Vegas experience this facility is very clean and the attendant/front desk manager Stephanie was very helpful and accommodating and professional she gave me a quick tour and she threw a Big bag of ice in my cold plunge because I want it exceptionally cold so that was very cool of her..... I did the 30 minute infrared sauna....stayed in there for about 15 minutes & got all sweaty and then jumped in the cold plunge for about 2 1/2 minutes and then jump back into the infrared sauna and then jump back into the cold plunge and then jump back into the infrared sauna.... and then took a shower.... most importantly the facility is very clean and the service is very professional so I bought me some more visits and I will definitely be back so thank you for the great service and see you soon..:) read more

I sprained a muscle in my neck somehow and was in pain for days. A few friends in the neighborhood had recommend Pause Infrared (and cold plunge contrast therapy). I was a bit hesitant to try the cold plunge but I did try the infrared and my neck felt 90% better after the 30 minute session and 100% by the next morning. Overall the experience was very positive. I was assured this place was super clean and disinfected after every use ( they are booked out daily so have hundreds of people naked in these rooms) I was ending my 30 minute session and was about to shower and saw a this nasty black bushel of hair ( I'm blonde !) stuck to my body from their "clean towels" absolutely disgusting!!! I brought it up and they just said that's gross... I also had a 10 pass that I purchased during the pandemic. as I'm walking out of my last session they charged me 40 dollars for a 30 minute session as my pass was up.
