A bit surprised by all the hyper positive reviews. If this had been my first float experience I'm not sure I'd ever have gone back. Instead of the egg-shaped pods, Float clinic has little rooms which I thought looked roomy and interesting based on the photos. The good: * I do like how you can step directly from the shower into the float tank. The tanks are fairly roomy, I'm 5'8" and felt I had a decent amount of room. * the bathroom was clean and equipped with hair dryers * the lobby is cute and inviting * friendly staff, good overview of the float process The meh: * my float tank door didn't close all the way, and my room light didn't automatically turn off which was distracting. I eventually got out and flipped the switch * salt wasn't fully dissolved, tank maybe a little oversaturated * I actually prefer the elliptical pods, I found the corners distracting * shower curtain was gross, I wish they just had like a half wall which would be easier to clean * there was caution tape in the shower and the frame around the door of the tank was popping off - just didn't look that nice. * just the one bathroom and the hairdryers are in there so you hold up the toilet if you use them - would be nice if there was a separate space for this * the place I usually go has thoughtful touches like little packages of Vaseline to cover any small scrapes so the salt doesn't burn, hot tea available, other little things - Float Clinic didn't have those, was pretty bare bones. Final verdict: for me, this was just ok. I've had a much nicer float experience at my usual spot and now I'm spoiled. Glad I got a float in while I was in town but wouldn't return. read more

I've tried a few different float locations and this is my favorite. Once I had a few floats, I found that the standard sixty minutes at most places is too short, and the ninety minutes here is perfect. I'm also quite large (6'3") and the larger floating pools here work better for me than the smaller pods at most places. Once I'm centered and motionless, I'm not constantly bumping into the sides. The online booking system is easy and convenient and the office is responsive and helpful. They've recently started offering other services -- infrared sauna, holotherapy, cold plunge, massage -- though I haven't tried those yet. But if you're going to become a habitual floater, this is the place to do it. read more

I was a regular here many years ago and always had a great experience. Things seem to have gone downhill since then. First, I arrived for my appt and the receptionist was sitting on the sofa with a whole bunch of computer (?) equipment. He got up to check me in and ran down the "usual" info then went to ready my room. This was my first opportunity to look around. I noticed not one cabinet door was correctly hinged and the doors all hung at odd angles. A quick screw driver could fix these. Tiles were broken in the shower and the storage door was wide open in my dressing area. Not at all the spa vibe I've experienced here in the past. I was (as usual) told the music would fade out when my session began. I never heard any music. Inside the tank it was super muggy and almost had a musty odor which obviously caused me some anxiety. After a while I just opened the door to the tank a bit to get some fresh air. What I forgot was "DON'T TOUCH YOUR EYES!"- I got some salt in my contact/eye and it was excruciating. I climbed out of the tank and was going to just shower and call it an experience. I flipped the light switch- nothing. I sat in the muggy air for 15 min. Decided I would use this time to meditate. When the session was over he came and rattled the door handle ( I had locked it) and told me the power was out and to use my phone flashlight to shower. I'm wondering if this explains no music at beginning and the muggy environment overall.) I finished dressing and came out to the reception area and he was on the phone. Made ZERO attempt to pause the conversation and close me out. ZERO. I am not used to this kind and of "care" when coming to such an establishment. I was the only client. He had one job- take care of me and make the best of the situation. But. No. I looked at him in his phone and said "you have my card right?" and walked out. Tried my first ever float Sunday. It was a different experience. Parking is street parking garage only. Ac was out so it was warm in the building. When you check in for the first time they give you a run down. Get checked into the room shower, float, shower, go home. I'm a bigger guy I felt the water could've been about an inch or two deep and it would've been perfect. The room next to me the client didn't show up so half way through the float I'm guessing the attendant was filter and cleaning the room. So I got pretty distracted from the relaxing feeling I was feeling in the first half. I have 2 more floats left since I bout the 3 for $150 first time deal. This place is amazing. Let's start with Christian, he gave me all the necessary instructions and more information on the benefits of floating. It was obvious he was a pro and confirmed when telling me he has been floating for over 5 years. I went in on an early appointment so I was able to pick my room (they have 3). They are all clean and equipped with everything you need for your floating session. I'm a little afraid of the dark, but they gave me a little ball that lights up and changes colors to bring into my chamber. Long overdue review ... I learned about the float clinic from a gift certificate that was given to me last Winter. At first I wasn't really sold on going even after hearing my friends enthusiastic experience, but it was a gift and I knew eventually it would disappoint him if I didn't go. I'm so glad I did! I have recently started on a float journey. This is the best place I have been! It was clean, private and has good vibes. I love that the tanks are quite large so your elbows don't really bump against the walls. They also provide a pillow that makes the float experience soooo much more comfortable. The rooms are nice, clean and calming as well. My sensory deprivation was wonderful. I would've liked my water and air a little warmer as I run a little warm. So sometimes I could feel the water and air cooling a bit. But, that didn't stop the complete loss of all the other senses. There was no odor (chemical smell~awesome), complete darkness and ear plugs to help with any noise. The gentle music slowly brings you back the plane of manifest (planet earth...lol) and then you exit into a wonderful shower. Get dressed and enjoy the week while you're still floating! This is one of the BEST therapies I've done! I enjoyed my experience thoroughly. It's beyond worth the money. For me, 90 minutes is a perfect amount of time to float and feel rejuvenated. This was my first time floating. It was amazing. It's funny because I was nervous to try it. I have severe anxiety and mild claustrophobia, but as soon as we walked in ( I did a session with my best friend) Christy was there with a huge smile on her face and a unique and bubbly personality that just took my gitters away. They offer a 90 minute session for $45 dollars andiI believe do a vet discount, which is cool. The building itself was immaculate, clean, soothing and pristine. The decor is washed in soft blues, teals and whites. All very relaxing and very inviting. after all the paper work was done and we talked about any ailments we might have, Christy showed us to our rooms, which again were very clean and welcoming. she explained the whole process and let us get on our way. I watched a ton of videos for at least the last month trying to get my mind right for it and it is like watching a training video on sky diving, no matter how many you watch nothing is like the actual experience. I held a membership for 10 months and loved it. I love the calm atmosphere and clean space to prep before and after a float session. I didn't visit for a few weeks after an ear piercing but it wasn't a problem because the floats do not go away when the month ends with a membership so I used it when ready. I really enjoyed how easy it was to sign up and also cancel the membership when the time came due to moving away. I highly recommend this place for the experience. I loved the music that comes on to note when your session has concluded and the motion sensor lights outside the tank ensure you have the ability to be in total darkness only when you want it. I got salt water in my eyes once and their quality of care is great as they provide a fresh water bottle and hand towel resting inside the tank's door handle. I absolutely love this place. Super clean and really relaxing. Also their technology of their equipment to clean the tanks are top! This is my fave place to go to every week now. I started in February and I love this place compared to other float tanks in LA. The other float tanks I visited felt a bit uncomfy and creepy.. and this one feels like home, cozy and just perfect for my purpose to come here. The other tanks I tried in LA are those pod things and honestly it was okay but i feel like of o have to close the pod, not for me. So coming here as my first experienced floating was the best first experience for a new floater. I was not enjoying the other places so this is my fave spot. Anyway, health benefits... it helps me understand my body more. Specially if I have been training and moving.. And suddenly my muscles are in pain... I feel like coming here has been a relief. To begin.. parking was a breeze! The lobby is exactly how it was pictured online. Pretty clean and comfy. The attendant was polite and friendly. Since it isnt my 1st float he didnt have to explain what will happen. There are 3 rooms and i choose the lighter stone room. Couple of things that i wish that was present...flip flops, more towels, a scented room, an outlet. The chamber was obviously dark..blue. i didnt shut the chamber door. I thought there would be colored lights inside but nope. The filtration system was LOUD but by the time i finished showering, the noise stopped. There was no music to get you started so it took me longer to drift off. My float was 90 minutes and i woke up before then and had no idea if i went over my time. So, this was my first time trying this type of meditation: Sensory Deprivation. -Long story short: I recommend it. ~_~ -Short story long: An appointment online or via telephone is necessary as they only have three sensory deprivation tanks and 10am, 12:30pm, 3pm, 5:30pm, 8pm, 10pm appointments, so this is definitely not a walk-in clinic. They offer a 90 minute session for $45 dollars and have a Veteran's discount too! How neat and considerate is that? -What to take? Just you, yourself, and you. They provide all the necessary items for a pleasant relaxing time. (Towels, earplugs, shampoo, lotion, cotton swabs, etc). -What's the setting like? Very spa-like, with bright, clean colors all around. Easy to the eyes. Once welcomed in, you get to choose one of the three rooms. They're pretty much all similar, just different colors. I very much enjoyed the ample showers! The stone shower floor felt amazing too (Wish I had a shower and not a tub sometimes). -What's the process? Well, the attendant there will give you a run through but if you want to hear it from me: You shower to remove all oils, get into the tank then, 90 min later you come out and should shower again, get dressed and done. The tank part; well the amount of epsom salt in the tanks is sure to have your body increase buoyancy so you'll have no problem floating. Shut the door, lay out and make sure you don't get any water in your eyes---that will burn. Trust me, I would know. Ha! Then, let go. In complete darkness, all your senses will be deprived. Just you and your thoughts. If you think you'll fall asleep at any point its ok--beautiful sounding music will slowly emerge to remind you when your time is up. Loved the music! It made me feel alive. Everyone's experience will be different, but if I can give any advice (because you bet I will recommend it) I would say, don't go there with any expectations. Experienced my 1st floatation this Saturday, May 2nd, for my birthday and it was nice. I agree with other comments; Establishment is very clean. The receptionist was very polite and gave us full instructions on what to do from beginning to end for first time "floaters". She also gave recommendations from others on certain things to do while floating ie; positioning of the hands/arms. Was given a tour of the location including all 3 of the private rooms. Room #2 is best due to interior ( That's the room I selected ) I must say this. I am African American and I know how my women can get when it comes to their hair. Lol !! Wearing a swimmers cap is NOT going to prevent your hair from getting wet, wearing a weave or not. If you do not mind getting your hair wet then go for it but if you're totally against it and don't feel like dealing with the hassle of your hair, this is NOT for you. I had to put that out there. Other than that, the actual experience was nice. Make sure to wash your body and hair off thoroughly when you're done. What an amazing place and a truly profound and accessible experience for all. I showed up for my float and spent a few moments chatting with the owner, Albert, who gave me the basics as a first time floater. I have always wanted to try Sensory Deprivation Tanks, but hated the idea of getting into a capsule or coffin. This place has these amazing float rooms which a guy like me at 6'2 could easily stand up in made the experience a breeze to step into and get comfortable really fast. I believe everyone's experience in the tank is their own, but my takeaway is that this was the fast-track to profound inner meditation. The first thing we try to achieve in meditation is how to silence the outer world to focus on the inner. Within 30 seconds after lying down in the tank, this is very clearly "taken care of" already. I struggle with chronic pain and chronic fatigue and I heard sensory deprivation could help relieve symptoms. Because I have some fear around small spaces and I have a larger body I did a lot of research to find a place that provided ample space and foot clinic best the rest. The shop has three completely private private rooms. You walk into a bathroom which has a toilet and a shower with plenty of room to change clothes. Then there is a small door you open to go into your personal floating space. The actual floating experience was difficult for me. My thoughts kept racing and the time seemed to move soooo slow. About five minutes before my time was up I had to get out of the floating area because I couldn't take the darkness anymore. But they explain before you go in that the first time can be challenging. This location is super clean, the staff is helpful and takes their time helping clients feel comfortable. So if you are looking to try this out I encourage you to give this place a try. read more

The lobby is nice and all rooms are nice except room 1. The float tanks are comparable to other good places I've been. The music volume was nice, that I enjoyed. The pillows for the neck are a bit bulky and it hurt my neck. I wish it was smaller and more even/flat. I have a neck injury so it hurt the whole time but I just dealt with it. My body felt good though. My float was amazing. 90 min is just right. I always felt like an hour wasn't enough at other places so that part they got right. The conditioner in the shower area smelled really good and it made my hair soft. The shower head is amazing. The thing that I did miss that other places do have is ear drops, full size mirror to help change, and the ring for the head rather than blow up pillow. They do offer water, that's nice. You can also choose to have your float with or without music. Everything was clean when I was there and that is also important. All in all this is a very nice solid place to float and if you live close by I highly recommend going here. read more

What an incredible experience. I suffer from anxiety disorder and have panic attacks that send me to the hospital. I heard about floating through KCRW. Yup, the radio. I looked up my nearest float center and this place popped up. I am incredibly surprised and relieved that my experience was so great. The lady at the front desk was very sweet. She took the time to answer all my questions, told me what to expect, and gave some helpful hints as a first time floater. The place is immaculate! I think it is better kept and better looking than some spas I've been to in Vegas! I think everyone is going to have a different experience when you go in to float. Because of my anxiety it took several minutes for my mind to shut up and just focus on my breathing, but when I finally did... my muscles relaxed, I stretched a bit and oh my goodness my bones were cracking lol! It felt great! Again, because of my anxiety I was afraid I was going to fall asleep and not hear the music. Be not afraid! The speakers are inside the tub and the music is so relaxing it made me just want to stay in there floating longer. Even the water pressure is great in the shower. I loved it. A friend who had always wanted to float here recommended this place. We were both first-times. We came here together, and had a great experience. The facility was clean and quaint, and the experience was very relaxing. The woman at the front desk answered all of our questions and was very helpful in instructing us what to do beforehand. I wanted to mention that I have "fashion" color in my hair which is semi-permanent, so I wore a swim cap to avoid leaking in the tank. I think I will have an even better experience when I come back with normal color hair (haha) so the swim cap won't "take away" from the experience. Amazing experience overall. The facility is very clean and tidy, and the lights and music help create the perfect peaceful ambiance before your float. This was my first time floating, and honestly I was pretty nervous but David (one of the owners) helped reassure me that this would be a positive experience and made sure that I felt totally comfortable and safe before I entered the tank. They really go out of their way to make sure that you get the most out of the process. Initially, the tank was intimidating and for the first thirty minutes it was a bit difficult for me to become fully relaxed, but Once I started focusing on my breathing and let go of the fear (tips David gave me before I went in) it was one if the most amazing experiences I had ever felt in my life. Just complete bliss. I was able to completely shut down and relax, and the time flew by. It also did wonders for for my sciatic pains. This is HANDS DOWN the best isolation tank place in the LA Area. Take it from a very experienced floater, (since early 90s) if you want to go deep and be able to get the full experience, this is the place. Here is why. 1) Real Isolation Float Rooms. This place has real Isolation Rooms, they are dark and silent inside. They are also huge so you have a lot of space and air, and are made of fiberglass, not BPA Vinyl plastic bags like some other float centers. Other float tanks tend to get very humid and hard to breathe in, and also are just tanks not a whole room for you to float in. 2) The ventilation is amazing and the air quality inside is excellent. Other tanks tend to get smelly, humid, and the air is hard to breathe. The humidity collects on the roof of the tank and can drip down on you. VERY Annoying. 3) Professional environment and staff. This place is run by professionals not by people who wear sunglasses at night, everything is top notch clean and professional. At float clinic they have everything you need, all you have to do is just show up. They also stock nootropics from a few brands. My favorite is Alpha Brain from Onnit. I also suggest you try it. There is a big difference between a plastic no skimmer float tanks and clean fiberglass float rooms. This was my first float, and my first experience with a float clinic. This was all around an awesome expierience. The person working the clinic was very thoughtful, through, and and set the tone for a great float. The environment is very relaxed, and everything is very clean. Personally, I think floating is something everyone should try. This isn't simply sitting in a bathtub, this is like being in outer space. The sensory deprivation is incredible. You enter a relaxing personal shower room, amenities provided,Earplugs are worn, you have a private, sound and lightproof float tank (very roomy). The water is temperature controlled to your body's skin temperature. Floating in this "amniotic fluid" you basically can't feel your body. Not seeing or hearing , you relax into an out of body experience. After an hour soft music is played inside the tank, you exit into your personal shower room, using organic shampoo and soap, shower off the salt water, and relax in the lounge to re acclimate, drinking provided bottled water. I will so do this again, and highly recommend it. This is a great place to have your first experience. -what I felt: Amazing. Once I allowed my body to relax and be supported solely by the water, that's when the "ride" started. I could not tell even that I was in water or not. I felt like I was slowly rotating head over heels, then felt like I was flying upwards. I noticed that I was slowly letting go of my body and the relaxation was incredible.
