This is HANDS DOWN the best isolation tank place in the LA Area. Take it from a very experienced floater, (since early 90s) if you want to go deep and be able to get the full experience, this is the place. Here is why. 1) Real Isolation Float Rooms. This place has real Isolation Rooms, they are dark and silent inside. They are also huge so you have a lot of space and air, and are made of fiberglass, not BPA Vinyl plastic bags like some other float centers. Other float tanks tend to get very humid and hard to breathe in, and also are just tanks not a whole room for you to float in. 2) The ventilation is amazing and the air quality inside is excellent. Other tanks tend to get smelly, humid, and the air is hard to breathe. The humidity collects on the roof of the tank and can drip down on you. VERY Annoying. 3) Professional environment and staff. This place is run by professionals not by people who wear sunglasses at night, everything is top notch clean and professional. At float clinic they have everything you need, all you have to do is just show up. They also stock nootropics from a few brands. My favorite is Alpha Brain from Onnit. I also suggest you try it. There is a big difference between a plastic no skimmer float tanks and clean fiberglass float rooms. When you are in a deep state the last thing you want is some random smell and random sweat drop of humidity waking you out of the deep state you worked so hard to get in to. read more

This was my first float, and my first experience with a float clinic. This was all around an awesome expierience. The person working the clinic was very thoughtful, through, and and set the tone for a great float. The environment is very relaxed, and everything is very clean. Personally, I think floating is something everyone should try. This isn't simply sitting in a bathtub, this is like being in outer space. The sensory deprivation is incredible. You enter a relaxing personal shower room, amenities provided,Earplugs are worn, you have a private, sound and lightproof float tank (very roomy). The water is temperature controlled to your body's skin temperature. Floating in this "amniotic fluid" you basically can't feel your body. Not seeing or hearing , you relax into an out of body experience. After an hour soft music is played inside the tank, you exit into your personal shower room, using organic shampoo and soap, shower off the salt water, and relax in the lounge to re acclimate, drinking provided bottled water. I will so do this again, and highly recommend it. This is a great place to have your first experience. -what I felt: Amazing. Once I allowed my body to relax and be supported solely by the water, that's when the "ride" started. I could not tell even that I was in water or not. I went for the first time yesterday and I have to say it's my new thing! I was apprehensive because it's not only knew to me, but so different than what I expected. Christian helped me and he's really professional and very helpful. He walked me through everything and answered my questions, I was super nervous and he told me that was normal for my first time. Everything was clean, quiet, and serene. I love the layout of the rooms and they are spacious so if you're wonderingly it'll fit a wheelchair or anything like that, it surely will :) I took my shower, got in, and just relaxed. I didn't sleep but I was sooooo relaxed and my body was super free. You feel like you're floated literally. The time is amazing for the price! It was better than a hour massage honestly. A few times I got freaked out knowing I was in the dark but I was so relaxed my body wouldn't let me get scared or tense lol it's really a great experience. It is a top-notch and upscale facility with very fair prices! David is very friendly and professional. He will give you tips on how to get the most of your experience. It does take a little while to get used to. You're in a room with no light and sound and you're floating in 12 inches of water that has 800 lbs of salt dissolved in it. The water is heated to skin temperature. There is very little external stimuli. For the first 20 minutes I was trying to get used to the funkiness of no sensation. After that then I started to relax and just give into the water. There was so much internal dialogue to quiet down. With no external stimuli there is nothing but you and your thoughts. Physically there is no stress and no pressure on your joints and muscles. "You're literally floating like you're in outer space. The challenges that your muscles have memory of trauma of life's experiences they begin to melt away.".- Dr Darren Weissman Joe Rogan said it takes 2-3 times to experience the full benefits of a float tank. I just had my first float last night, and I can't WAIT to come back! As a holistic leaning, sufferer of lower back pain (severely herniated disc) and shooting sciatic pain, it killed me last week when I had to break down and take muscle relaxers and pain shots just to not be in tears all day from my recent flair up. I found out about Float Clinic at the exact right time, and decided I'd give it a try. Within the first 5 minutes of being in the tank, I could literally feel my spine decompressing as I lay there. It was like having a chiropractic adjustment. I was able to clear my mind and focus on my body working to heal itself. First experience using a float chamber, and couldn't have asked for a better facility and staff. David (one of the owners) was there and took his time out to give us the low down on what the float would be like. The float environment was comfortable, clean and effortless, that allowed me to get into a relaxed state which made the experience even better. 90 min goes by in what seems like an instant, after which I felt light as a feather and refreshed both mentally and physically. All ... and I mean ALL ... of their reviews are 5-star, so I presume my review will be trashed outright. If so, it's a testament to their attitude about disabled customers. It was recently mentioned to me, via Facebook, about a place called the Float Clinic on Torrance, California. Well, let me tell you: don't go there if you have a disability! First of all, they don't understand HIPAA (and its patient information protections are) at all: what you can and can not ask. Second, they DO NOT want anyone with a disability to come near the place: they're scared of you (tone of voice, questioned asked, and, my questions avoided). Third of all, if you get the male on the phone, he spends more time interrupting you than listening to you. Lastly, if you tell them you are dissatisfied with them and their treatment if you is, they spend the next hour calling your number ... but don't leave messages (like normal people do); they just call and call and call. I obviously don't want to talk to them right now ... but they obviously don't care. Now, I have to consult an attorney YET AGAIN to see about potential HIPAA and ADA violations .... Don't go near the Float Clinic! read more

This was a cool experience. I recommend giving it a whirl. David was super cool. A great ambassador in explaining how this 'floating' thing worked. We went at night. 8pm (me and my boyfriend). I thought it would be a nice relaxer at the end of the day. The reception area was very relaxing...and in the back, where the tubs were, we had three different rooms to choose from. Nice and clean. It is a very individual experience. I can see how everyone experiences it a little different. I would do it again. I think I will throw the neck pillow David told me about, into the float tub next time as my neck got tired and stiff after about an hour. Surprisingly even floating, my neck is still cranky. Went here on Saturday night; Really cool experience. Rooms are really clean and they come with shampoo, condition and lotion for after floating as well as ear plugs, towels, & a water bottle So basically you go into the room, rinse off, and then go into the tank naked and close the door after you get inside - very easy to do. The interesting part was that you can't tell if your eyes are open or closed b/c it's so pitch black. I saw a few colors and a random memories came up out of nowhere. P.S. Ladies bring a brush for after. Not sure if I'd do it again, but defn glad I tried it. read more

I recently read about sensory deprivation in a documentary and I immediately wanted to try it out. This place did not disappoint, first you take a calming shower in a nice bathroom that looks like it could be in a high end spa then you hop in the spacious sensory deprivation tank and just let your mind wander. I am a little claustrophobic, but I got used to it after a couple of minutes then I started enjoying the experience After 90 minutes, they play some relaxing music to signify your time is up. Take another cleansing shower and back into the world feeling much more refreshed. read more

First time floating, and was ready to relax. Upon entering we were greeted by an amazing lady ( Christy), she was not only enthusiastic, but very clear as to what to expect. Without her personality and amazing enthusiasm to make our experience enjoyable it just wouldn't have been the same. The decor is clean, relaxing and pleasing to be in. Second time floating first time at this location. Given that this was my second time I did enjoy it here more since I knew what to expect. Everything was simple but the essentials were there. The tank's water temperature and humidity was also better controlled in this tank compared to my previous soak at another place. I didn't feel the need to wipe my face from the humidity and the size of the tank was just big enough to not feel cramped but small enough to not feel like you are in a dark vast tank of water alone and vulnerable (creepy) I felt totally relaxed and was able to go into a different state of mind. My mind was racing but at the same time totally at ease it was an interesting contrast. Time went by really fast it felt like only 30-40minutes has one gone by. Remember to go to the bathroom because it'd be a distraction if you have a full bladder! In my previous tank soak experience the place had a choice of playing music and lights, because it was my first time I felt more comfortable leaving it on. I had my eyes open the whole time and time went by a lot slower even though it was only a 60 minute versus the 90 minutes here in darkness and silence. At checkout I knew I would want to come back again soon so I asked to get the $80 for two session option saving $10 in total. This place is a good $10-15 cheaper than the average float tank facilities in LA and other countries. I can't speak for other places but I am more than satisfied with this place to be a loyal customer here. Such a gem in old Torrance! read more

As first time "floaters" my Fiance and I wanted a place that was clean, spacious and didn't feel too gimmicky. Float clinic in Torrance was perfect. We arrived about 30 minutes early due to amazing traffic and the owner was there to greet us. He didn't mind that we were early and just let us chill in the waiting room until our appointments started. The rooms were clean and spacious. You have your own room with a shower so you don't have to walk to a communal spot to rinse off. You feel totally at ease. The tank itself is large (no pods here) and I never had any claustrophobia. Everything looked very clean and the towels were fresh. I also wasn't rushed by the next appointment because they are spaced so far out from each other. I just recently had my first float on Saturday morning. I'm not really into meditation or holistic healing so I wasn't sure what to expect. I'm SO glad I did it because it completely changed my outlook on these kinds of natural treatments. The facility was super clean and very well-furnished. It had a really good vibe and as soon as you walk in, you'll immediately feel very tranquil. Speaking of vibes, the worker Nancy also added to my amazing float experience. I was very impressed with her knowledge of floating. She was super fun/ outgoing and like I said, she was part of what made my experience so great!!! :] The rooms are super clean and very nice. I chose room 2 just because it was my favorite. My float was amazing. The 90 minutes flew by and when I came out, I definitely felt a "post-glow" float. If you're even considering it, you should definitely try it. Some people may not like it for reasons such as that their "hair got too wet" or because "it's not their thing" but that shouldn't stop you from trying it. Everything at Float Clinic was great, from the service to the room to the actual floating. Everything was explained to me very well and I went in with zero apprehensions about the process. Just looking in from the outside, the tank seems overwhelming, but once you get in and allow your body to relax, you really do just sort of float away to inner peace. It really sucked that I had to come to the realization that I'm allergic to Epsom Salt (I got a little itchy, nothing too crazy). Best float experience of my life!!! Float tanks are kind of in their infancy as far as their cool factor goes. One of the reasons why float tanks have not fully caught on in the mainstream is due to the fact that the chamber in which you float tends to be quite small. As many of you experts will tell you; if there's anything about the actual establishment or flotation tanks themselves that make you uncomfortable, then it is very likely that you will not be able to reap all the benefits possible from a flotation experience. First time experiencing a sensory deprivation float tank, when I walked in I was kindly greeted by the staff and he explained all I needed to know to have a relaxing experience. The place is very clean! When I went into the float tank I was able to stretch my arms comfortably *I'm 6ft tall* and just relax in the peaceful darkness. Been wanting to Float for the last few years and finally put off procrastinating and decided to go. My best friend who I told about this spot and has chronic wrist pain wasnt free that morning but this spot has 3 tanks and is very easy to book online. Arriving there: Parking seemed a little difficult at first, as you need to park on the street ( the other nearby businesses had towing signs in their parking lot. A little background for myself: I had chronic back inflammation from my college olympic weightlifting days and now do yoga/ bodybuilding and meditate almost eveyday so the idea of doing a 90 minute session seemed pretty fun. Also I came in with no expectations. I did a lot of research and watched youtube videos beforehand but I realize that each person has a unique experience. Kristy greeted me, she seemed super amazing and friendly. She has great vibes and helped me get rid of any pre-float anxiety questions I had. She also mentioned that it often takes-2-3 floats to really get the full benefits and comfortable with floating as well as mentioning to just go with no expecations for your float to have the best possible experience. Each room has a different feel and lighting with the float tank on the left and a shower in front if you; I choose room 3. Took a clean shower with the organic shampoo to get rid of any oils which helps keep the float tanks clean. Then after I was fully prepared and got in, it took me about 20-30 mins to get over myself and my constant thinking. Nervious at first I started to stop worrying about work, relationships, expecations and focused on my breathing then everything got a bit easier. I dozed off a few times and eventually awoke to music in the tank indicating that the session was done. the 90 mins was quite an experience and it was well worth the money. I Will be back in a week or 2 for my second session and highly reccomend this spot for anyone who is seeking a more relaxed, positive mood along with any other benefits you may have heard of. That post float feeling is indescribable and I will say that my mediation and yoga session the next day was amazing, My mind felt less cluttered and I was able to be more in the moment. Intro took about 15 minutes. Then plug your ears, take a shower, (put vaseline on any nicks or cut), close the door and glide into 90 minutes of pitch-dark floating bliss.
