The facility is clean. I did not use the hot tub. I use the shower. I went here initially for a facial treatment and body massage. However, it appears the website was a little misleading and learn that they don't do facial extractions only after I had already book both treatment and already did the first half then when it came to the facial treatment and asked for clarification the clinician stated they don't do extractions or have the tools to do so - the staff was friendly enough to provide a refund. I did have high expectation for this place considering the reviews. It would help if there wasn't a language barrier with the front desk lady because I had ask for clarification only to arrive and services was not as expected because this visit costed me my day and no facial was completed. Instead of honoring the time I had reserved, the staff suggested I should book a shorter session next time if I need to leave on time. Why should I be penalized for another client's tardiness? This place is not like it used to be. My massage was so-so and I wasn't wowed by it. I felt like the masseuse spends a lot of time getting hot towels and spreading on oil. Not much variety in strokes. Very standard. I also wondered if they bothered to write down my special areas of focus mentioned in email. The service is just ok as well since there is a language barrier. There was too much back-and-forth with emails plus phone messages with repeating information. I'm fine with a short email. I had already uploaded the gift certificate online but I was called to bring the gift certificate with me. I had to remind her I already uploaded the certificate online. I had mentioned this in an earlier call. I believe they've had some turnover so the staff must be new. There's room for improvement so I can't say I'll come back soon. I received a Spa Week gift card and found this place accepts them. I also liked that they have a jacuzzi and dry sauna. I called the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and fortunately they had a lot of openings for the day after Thanksgiving. I also checked on their website and they give 30% off a service a month before and after your birthday, luckily I was in that window. Booking an appointment over the phone was easy, I did have to give my credit card information because they have a 24 hour cancellation policy. They open at 10AM so my appointment was for 10:10AM for a 90 minute combination Swedish and deep tissue massage. I arrived exactly at 10AM and the place was calm and quiet, I think I was the only one there. Before you enter, you have to remove your shoes near the entrance. They provide a locker with a key for your shoes. There's a locker inside with a robe, face towel and body towel. Koko was my masseuse and she did a great job. She recommended Shiatsu on my neck and upper back, the parts of my body that were really tight. It was my first time having a Shiatsu massage and I enjoyed it. After she was done, I looked for a clock in the room but didn't find one. I had my phone on me and noticed she finished 10 minutes earlier. I was a bit disappointed with this. I used the other amenities after my massage. One down side is that they don't provide extra towels in the locker room. I didn't like that I had to reuse my towel from the shower and sauna. I also tried to relax in the hot stone room but it was way too hot for me. Another lady in the room had a thicker towel underneath her but I did not see where those were provided. When I checked out I did mention to the lady at the front desk that my massage was good but I did not get the full 90 minutes. She went to another room to speak to someone then came back, didn't say anything not even an apology. This was a little upsetting for me, however, because I had a gift card and the birthday discount, I decided to just let it go. I really wanted to love this place. They have the coldest jacuzzi ever. We asked if we could have it warmer but learned that the hotel regulated the temperature and it cannot get any hotter. Okay. First, I went online and booked a 60 min message before the store opened. I was expecting them to confirm my booking once the store opened but they didn't. I didn't wanna risk myself going and not have the masseuse be there so I called and thanks to that they told me the masseuse will be there only from 1:30 that day. Then why are you opening slots for people to book when the masseuse isn't even there? They need to fix that. Second, right after I got out of the shower, my hair was soaking wet but the receptionist came and said " Hi, I'm leaving so there will be no receptionist for awhile so can you pay your tip now? Can you give me your credit card? Oh nvm, you need to sign it so you have to come to the front desk. You can relax and stay as long as you want" How the f**k am I supposed to relax when I just got out of the shower, I'm in my robe with soaking wet hair and you're asking me to bring my credit card to the front desk??? So I rushed myself, changed and brought my CC and paid. Then the next receptionist came and I left. I was walking toward the parking lot and hear someone scream my name, look back then the receptionist is running towards me so I thought I left something at the store and ran towards her. Then she said " Did you pay the tip?" I was like wtf is wrong with this place? I politely said " Yes I paid the receptionist earlier " but this just ruined my day! This spa is in the Japanese Hybrid Hotel. I took my mom here on her birthday and we received a discount- which was an awesome surprise! We both got massages and we enjoyed them. The spa itself is clean but I felt like it was small. I love that you take off your shoes at the front- this makes me feel like everything is super clean! The hot stone beds were hot but I felt like they were a little too hot. The rooms were not vented well so it felt like a hot yoga room where I couldn't really breathe. Some people may like this and it is purely just personal preference that I did not enjoy it. I have done other Japanese hot stone beds and they normally cool the room. Relaken was a wonderful treat for a tired body to relax and regenerate. The dark and peaceful ambiance took me away from the hustle of the city and gave me space to recuperate. Furthermore, the Gambanyoku "bedrock bathing" was extremely therapeutic and healing and was a perfect prequel to my massage by heating and softening my muscles. There's a huge lot (no charge) across the way, if you don't mind a short walk. If you drive a hybrid, there's a special parking area (complimentary) for you, just ask a valet attendant! Staff is very professional and hospitable. I feel relaxed the second I walk in. Ben is my go to for a deep tissue massage. He's incredible!! He cares to listen to my needs. Thanks to the special offers hotel package by Miyako we had a great pamper day weekend here it rejuvenated our body and spirit. I had the Swedish massage for 50 mins- the massage therapy uses oil to ease all my stiffness and muscles strain and promotes a feeling of relaxation. Hubby wants the deep tissue massage . We were able to use the hot stone spa room (called Ganbanyoku) -in Japanese culture. With a heated SGE stones (super growth energy) it improves blood circulation and detoxination. The Japanese massage therapist was super nice well trained and very professional. Super clean Spa you have to walk barefoot in the facility they provide everything from bath towels to robe, shampoo,conditioner,deodorant,hairbrush etc. they also have the warm Biden toilet super loved it!!! Well I wasn't able to use the spa jacuzzi & sauna because I was watching the kiddos. But overall great Spa !!!! They also offers numerous treatments like facial massages, shiatsu, Swedish ,Reiki, deep tissue massage, and other aroma treatments. The bedrock spa is general population and can fit probably 8 people, but i'm guess they don't force too many at once. So bedrock you are with you own people and others. The men's and ladies' locker rooms each have its own jacuzzi and dry sauna. No coed for those items. The way the locker rooms are, the men and women come out into the bedrock spa. They give you towels and pjs like set for the bedrock spa. Everything else you are naked. We will be back for sure!!! read more

Came here a few times for various treatments. The facilities are usually not crowded at all because apparently no one knows about this place or it is too upscale for this area. The staff is great, very polite and accommodating. Recommend the Balinese aroma treatment, it was very relaxing and I knocked out. You walk in and put your shoes in a shoe locker. Then you take the key for the shoe locked with you and go to the locker room and change. You get different sets of clothing depending on what you are going to do. There are robes for showering, robes for massage, and clothes for the hot stone sauna. There are small jacuzzi and sauna areas, but this has never been an issue for me because usually there are only 2-3 people there. They provide the usual spa amenities as well. Only complaint is that the hair dryers are very weak. read more

most amazing day today! There's nothing like the Japanese experience and a great shiatsu massage. My friend and I started out in the hot stone room to relax our muscles. Get rid of stress and detox. We then took a nice shower and got into the hot tub. Next was the relaxing, waiting room where we were served green tea, some mini muffins and fresh fruit. Finally, we went into the massage room and had the most amazing relaxing, yet strong she had to massage. this place gets a 10 out of 10. Very clean, very polite, very professional, and very authentically Japanese. When it was over, we went back to the resting area and we're given a new cup of tea. Way to spend a couple hours. I always utilize their Hot Stone room for detox and once in a while treat myself to their massage specials, which is above amazing. I love how quiet and relaxing this spa is. It's rare to find more than 2 or 3 souls there. Usually, I find myself alone in hot stone room, sauna, Jacuzzi and shower area. Once in a while, a staff will drop in on you in hot stone room and give you a cold wet towel for your face. The only draw back is the Hot Stone room is shared by men and women and sometimes the male patrons makes me uncomfortable though most of the time it's all myself in the room. Just had another restful 90 facial & lymph here with Riko. I have always been a light sleeper but every time I come here, I find myself falling asleep faster and easier and as sound as possible. We all know Miyako is a hybrid hotel so the spa is also "green". She told me that everything there is green including the flooring and the expensive wallpaper. They offer aromatherapy, massage, facial and nails service. There is a jacuzzi, sauna, and stone spa (ganban-yoku) area. Grand opening special $10 off is going on now...not sure until when. The specialty of this store is the stone spa. The owner explains that it improves body circulation, great for your hair and skin. The aromatherapy ball they use is from Thailand. Wow!! Absolutely Wow!! My buddy turned me onto this place, so I finally decided to go because he wouldn't stop talking about it. Now I understand why. I usually get a pretty good massage at other local Southbay parlors at least once or twice a month, so I'm a bit picky about trying new places, especially if a friend "builds them up" really high. However to my surprise, this place blew me away! 1000 x better than the proverbial "bar" I had mentally set before going. For starters, this place is VERY quaint and VERY Japanese style... something which was a brilliantly pleasant surprise. The front staff and spa workers were extremely attentive and courteous from the moment I walked in the door. After a few minutes of this treatment, I began to think they mistook me for a celebrity or something), based on the fact that I have NEVER received this type of extraordinary service before at any other massage, acupuncture, or day spa The staff had me place my shoes in an old fashioned shoe locker built into the wall, and then proceeded to give me a tour of the relaxing areas, hot stone room, jacuzzi, showers, and my own spa locker with robe. They even give you clothes to wear in the hot stone room, so you don't soak your own clothes with sweat. EVERYTHING, and I mean EVERYTHING was clean, tranquil, and peaceful. Even the Japanese bidet toilet was a nice touch (literally.) Aside from the massage, I thoroughly enjoyed the hot stone most. I had no idea what "hot stone's" were (aside from the literal translation), but come to find out that its very therapeutic for you as well. It was powerfully relaxing, and I'm upset with myself for not trying it sooner. Next up was my deep tissue massage. I was a bit worried when an older Asian lady (Fumiko) introduced herself as my masseuse... assuming she wouldn't be able to successfully complete a deep tissue massage to my satisfaction. And then she shook my hand. It was like shaking a brick. My worries then turned into fear as I was considering the possibility she was about to break my body with her stone-like hands. Again, I was wrong. Fumiko gave me one of the best massages in my life. It was perfect! The massage room was also very traditional Japanese, with soft tranquil music, and probably the BEST massage table I've ever been on. (It was like a tempurpedic mattress that was already warmed up before I even stepped into the room.) After everything was complete, and it was time to return to reality... I dreaded leaving. It was honestly the most serene experience I have had in years. If you don't at least try this place... then you're truly missing out on an amazing experience, and will eventually kick yourself for not coming here earlier! This spa is the best! We were guests at Miyako Hybrid hotel, and had made appointments ahead of time for one day in the spa, but after that initial experience, we loved it so much we literally spent three days in the spa. The customer service is exceptional. From the moment you walk in, you are well treated. The receptionist greets you and helps guide you to your locker room and shows you around the hot stone room, and the sauna/jacuzzis (men and women have separate areas). Then she sets you up in a peaceful waiting room inside the spa with ice cold water with lemon and orange slices until your therapist comes to get you. The showers are huge, with Rain heads, the towels are thick organic cotton, there are several water dispensers with ice cold water with citrus slices, and (my favorite) ice cold wash cloths sitting by the jacuzzi to wrap around your neck to prevent your head from getting too hot while you soak your muscles-genius! They even provide you with bamboo slippers so that you don't slip while you walk from room to room. The spa as a whole was extremely clean and beautiful, with very relaxing and soothing music playing in the background with small fountains frequenting the rooms. Throughout my three days at the hotel, I had two Swedish Massages, a Japanese Aromatherapy facial and a Balinese Aromatherapy treatment. I had two different therapists for the treatments, and both were very good at their jobs, friendly and professional. I especially enjoyed the facial--I actually fell asleep I was so relaxed. In between, I spent hours soaking in the Jacuzzi, in the sauna, and using the hot stone room. Once you are done with your treatment, your therapist leads you back to the waiting area, and brings you hot tea-a perfect ending. My boyfriend is a tough man to please when it comes to massage, and he ended up getting 3 massages while we were there because he enjoyed them so much. He always asks for the deep tissue, and usually he is not given the level of deep tissue he prefers, but his therapist was very strong and experienced and he had no complaints at all, and returned to get a deep tissue the next two days. I thought the pricing was good; it was not cheap by any means, but I expect to spend at least $100 per treatment at a full service high end day spa. Spa Relaken was well worth the money I paid, especially with the bonus unlimited hours you can spend in the sauna/jacuzzi/hot stone room the day of your treatment. They even had specials--for locals I assume, you could get an hour massage and a healthy cleansing lunch for $60 during the weekdays. If I lived in LA I would become a member of the spa--for a monthly fee you can come and use the facility any day any time. I cannot wait until we are back in LA again so I can go relax and rejuvenate there. It was amazing. read more
