I'm not giving a terrible review just because this wasn't my thing. I'm giving it a good review because of the experience. My bff treated me for a late bday gift here because she knew I have been wanting to come here for a while. The young lady at the front was very friendly and chatted with us for a bit before we went to the tanks. She explained the procedure to us. Put in your earplugs, shower to get any oils and such off with the shower gel/shampoo that's provided, wipe your face off till it's dry or if you try to get any droplet left on your face with your salty hand it will sting. My friend freaked out when she was told it will be completely dark so the girl brought her a light to hang on the inside handle of the door. I climbed into the warm water and closed the door. I slowly laid back and started to float. Wow, what a feeling! I was like a kid making 'water' angels and swaying in the water because it was just so cool! Too bad there weren't any stars to look up at. After floating, I took another shower to rinse off the salt. The reason I didn't care for it was because it's too humid in the tank for me. I don't like not having fresh air to breathe in. I like cool air on my face. I guess I could have opened the tank door but I think that would have turned the light on which I didn't want. The other reason was that I was a little nauseous afterwards. I didn't really notice it until I got home. My friend got nauseous during the floating so she said she had to sit up a few times. Tip: People who get motion sickness should take Dramamine or something before coming. read more

I've honestly never heard of floating until a new coworker of mine talked about it. It sounded pretty interesting to me and I definitely wanted to try it. This is the place he goes to and it was highly recommended. So far I've been here once and the experience was pretty good. I'm told that a 2nd or 3rd time is needed to really get the full benefits so I'll be back at some point. First of all, I don't think this floating works for everyone. My husband went with me and his experience definitely was not the same as mine. Not his type of thing to do but he tried it to see. For me, it was scary and awkward at first but eventually I was able to slip into a nice state. I've driven past this place many times as it's situated in old Torrance. Find the parking lot because you'll spend a good amount of time here. Upon entering it's already relaxing since it feels like you walked into a spa lobby.The people here are all really nice and ask if its your first time to make sure you get a thorough run down of what to do and what to expect. Indeed it was very thorough and I was glad I had all that information when I entered the tank. There are three tanks with adjoining showers and a separate toilet for everyone. Everything was clean, spa-like, and many toiletries were provided. Starting off with a nice shower really does help you get into the correct mindset before entering the tank. Okay, the floating itself. The hour and a half doesn't start til you get into the tank so you end up staying here for a good 2 hrs. It was extremely scary and freaky I have to say in the very beginning! The tank door is in the shower literally and you peer in to a shallow pool. Step in and its total darkness after you close the big door! The water temperature is very warm and as soon as you start sitting down and leaning back you float right away. Huge amounts of epson salt in the water. That part was pretty fun and I spent a bit of time bouncing round from corner to corner. I couldn't relax my neck enough and ended up using the provided neck pillow. After some time...in the dark....floating...without sound...I did end up slipping btwn sleeping and a relaxed consciousness. We were given earplugs (no salt in the ears) and gently awaken to softly rising music a the end of the sesh. Pretty amazing! I predicted that I would most likely fall asleep in there and that's what I did! I felt pretty relaxed at the end of the session, albeit sleepy (but I'm a sleepy person), so I was feeling pretty good. Everything was done as gently as possible and if it works for you, then it works! read more

Truly an amazing experience. I first learned about float tanks / sensory deprivation through a buddy and then got a ton of info from Joe Rogan's podcasts and other vids on YouTube. I cannot recommend this place enough. It's super clean, well-designed and the staff is great. David was very helpful, answered all of my questions and he really helped set the stage for what to expect. I've long been looking for a way to relax, reflect and recharge my batteries and nothing to date has seemed to work; not massages, yoga, meditation, etc. etc. etc. Float Clinic is a truly unique and profound experience -- I've lived in LA for 10+ years and it's a hard place to escape. You're never really alone. There is alway some type of distraction; people, traffic, sirens, street lights, whatever. When you're in the tank, you're worlds away from everything - you're truly floating in what feels like outer-space quite honestly. If you're able to let yourself go, find your breath and embrace your time in the tank you will walk away feeling more relaxed and more recharged than you have ever felt - GUARANTEED. I felt like a giant spaghetti noodle after. So loose, so relaxed. I felt high to be honest - euphoric - I felt in tune with myself, with my thoughts. It was life changing in many ways. Beyond the mental / spiritual aspect - the physical benefits are AMAZING. I've spent the better part of my life training, competing and putting my body through hell; three knee surgeries, two elbow surgeries and plenty of bumps and bruises later, I'm always stoved up and sore. While Yoga has definitely helped, the tank was a game changer. I walked away with ZERO pain. The epson salt combined with 90 minutes of weightlessness basically aligned my spine, hips and allowed my muscles to just "release" any tension. It's hard to explain. It's not like a massage or ultrasound or anything else I have tried. You feel like mush. I'm going back once a month. Already made my next appointment. I have set some lofty goals for myself in 2014 (both personally and professionally) and one is to work through mental barriers, insecurities, and other issues that I believe hold me back from my full potential. This was such a unique experience and I'm really glad I tried it! I was definitely a little hesitant at first because while not exactly claustrophobic, the thought of being in a dark enclosed space for 90 minutes was still kind of daunting. I'm also not the best at meditation or keeping still for long periods of time. So many people have said that it's a really relaxing experience that allows you to find inner peace but that it may take a few tries to achieve it. You can feel how serene it is as soon as you walk in. The owner gave us a full run down of what to do, what to expect, and tips for the best floating experience. There are three tanks. Before you take a shower, put in the provided ear plugs because they're more difficult to work with if they get wet. Once you're done, open the door to step into the tank. The water is at the exact temperature of your body and is filled with Epsom salt so try not to get water in your eyes. The start of the floating experience was the scAriest part because the shower is joined to the door to the tank so as soon as you step into the tank and close the door, it's total darkness and you can't see or hear anything. You just lie down slowly and breathe and this is where the meditation experience begins. I may or may not have fallen asleep but the 90 minutes actually go by really quickly and they queue music when it's time to get out. Overall I really enjoyed it and my skin felt great afterwards too! read more

I first heard about sensory depravation tanks a few years ago from my best friend. Recently my back pain had gotten so bad I decided to try it out. I came to this one since I wanted a location with easy parking, close to a freeway, and close to me. This place had all the logistics out so I tried it. The environment is very relaxing when you walk in. Everything is clean both in actual cleanliness and design. They have 3 tanks with a shower in each. David, one of the owners, is very welcoming and patient. He goes over everything in detail once you get there. Essentially you take a shower, go into the tank, come out and shower again. This place is really into the details which I love. Bottle of water for you in your room, shampoos are organic I believe l, and they even have a hair dryer and lotion as well so you don't have to walk out with wet hair. My experience here was superb. We came in at 8pm and not once did I feel rushed. As for the experience itself as you can see from other reviews, those are different for different people. I was hoping I'd get spinal decompression benefits and I totally did. The feeling is indescribable, all I can say it back feels amazing and I was ready to train the next day. Best nights sleep in a long time after that. Either way, this clinic is worth the drive from wherever you are. The owners are all about making this a personal customer experience and their professionalism and warmth is what is taking me back next week. Definitely try this place out! read more

My husband and I did our first float! It was a different experience.. I wouldn't recommend if you are scared of dark small places lol it is very relaxing, but I can see it taking some time to get used too. I only lasted 60 minutes because i got congested as their isn't much air flow in the box. The place is very clean and staff is nice and knowledgeable, they will answer any questions you have. For the ladies; The Epson salt will dry out your hair a bit I would recommend a shower cap of some sort or wear your hair in a bun. Lastly, that night I slept like a baby! Checked out Float Clinic two weeks ago, and now I'm hooked. Heard about floating from the JRE podcast like many others. The place was very clean and had a good vibe to it. Main reason I went was for physical therapy, and it definitely helped. Anyone who works a desk job needs to check this out. I will definitely be throwing this in along with my chiro. I am officially hooked after only two float sessions!!! This is the deepest most relaxing meditation that I have ever had! The float tanks put you in total and complete darkness and they are nice and spacious so once you are settle in there is no bouncing of the sides! This experience was amazing. Just did my first float last night after an extremely stressful week. The rooms are nicely decorated and very zen. The guy at the front desk was very nice and explained everything in detail. They provide you with body wash, lotion, q-tips, conditioner, a towel and earplugs. Inside the tank I tried to meditate and I did get to a place of no thoughts but eventually fell asleep. When I woke up in the dark I was like wtf...oh yeah im in the floaty room. Lol! I left feeling so relaxed, my body felt rejuvinated and my stressful thoughts were gone. I would highly recommend and plan to go back asap. read more
