We ordered, wood grilled octopus, wood grilled oysters, sampler raw oysters, charcutierie board for starters. Then scallops and steak for entrees. Sweet yeast rolls were placed on the table. And can I say they were mighty and the staple beginner. The spirited drinks were "She's one in a melon"(a very light drink that was almost like a spritzer), Tiger style (smoked D'usse), espresso martini with Bailey's and An Old Fashion. All were happily enjoyed with no complaints. The starters came out and of course they were great. The grilled octopus was paired with a sauce and veggies that complimented it well. It had the right charr that presented well. The grilled oysters were very tasty and well seasoned. The charcuterie board was well put together with a large variety of cheeses, spreads, jams, meats and crustini. The various raw oyster selection was great and without the grainy sandy feel. Meals came out and I indulged heavily into my scallops that was paired with risotto and carrots. The light well seasoned pan seared scallops were amazing. I left nothing behind as I normally do not finish my meals. The GRILLED HANGER STEAK FRITES seemed to be well prepared and without complaint. I however, did not indulge in that meal. A setting for a perfect summer date night, maticulously curated for a Rom Com finalé. The air had a hint of passion filled culinary bliss before you take one step up into a space and are immediately welcomed(not greeting), welcomed and escorted to your table. Yes, I had a reservation. The energy felt different. Light. Blissful. A Background filled with laughter and exciting banter as if the food was infused with joy and people palates were levitating. Even the air was a perfect temp, intentionally set with the third bears bowl in mind(IYKYK). Once seated, I don't even recall the hand off because it was so seemless. The glass of water passed the smell test=No bleach-like smell. Just crisp. The experience curator, *ahem* some say host or waiter, but I'm going to call a spade a spade, they have curators!- offered to take our drink order and we threw all the curve balls, not selecting from the carefully designed menu, and only giving notes and feelings. There was only one "No" in a valley of "Yeses." I know, "what was the No?" yeaaaah egg whites in drinks are forbidden. Lol. He said, let the lickkkah speak for itself. They even remixed my signature cocktail and made it BETTER! By the time it came for the order I wanted a tasting menu of everything! Each bit was ingredient forward. Nothing tried to hide behind layers of complex spices and blends. They have the word LOVE in the name for a reason. Taste the food. I had Crudo and wanted to know, what kind of olive oil is THIS? Yep, I bought a bottle. Perfectly cut and topped with pine nuts. Only issue I had was the plate wasn't edible. I felt bad sending it back with the hint of olive oil that was left coating it. Ooooh, OK, so there was this Mellon right? (ohhhhhh that Mellon), that rested on a bed of vinegar(yes, I bought a bottle of that also), topped with thinly shaved BLISS and a hint of flake salt -that. will. change. your. Life. The Bomba Calebrese foeshezie (not the name) had mixed veggies in a Chilli oil that someone had the audacity to put on toasted focassia that was still soft, chewy and filled with that olive oil flavor. I know the chefs grandmothers grandmother is proud. THESE were only the snacks! You read that correctly, SNACKS. I'd tell you about the MAIN course, but this is a PG site and the main course are made for ADULTS only!!! I mean, one bite, close your eyes, chew, subtle moan & repeat. The menu is Italian but takes a modern approach to Italian food - it's not your traditional Italian menu. My husband and I shared their broccoli pesto (made with almonds, parmigiano, and olio verde and served with focaccia), a scallop crudo (with cucumber, za'atar, izak, chili flake, and olio verde), a porcini pasta dish (with garganelli malfatti, porcini and shiitake mushrooms, olio verde, and parmigiano), their bolognese bianco (rigatoni, slow-cooked beef and veal, white whine, and parmigiano), and their sgroppino for dessert (a scoop of lemon sorbet and a scoop of vanilla gelato in sparkling wine). Everything was delicious, but the bolognese bianco is outstanding - I've had it both times I've had dinner at Love, Pomelo, and it's just a great dish. Their pastas are made in house, but they have a lot more than pasta (seafood and meat main dishes). I had a couple of glasses of wine, while my husband enjoyed one of their many aperitivi/spritzes. Their beverage menu lives up to the quality of the food. The service has been great both times I've had dinner at Love, Pomelo - friendly, helpful, and very welcoming. Love, Pomelo is a great spot for an Italian dinner. It's beautiful and delicious and very comfortable. It feels a bit like you're having dinner in an Italian family's home, in the best possible way.
