Ive been here several years ago. I didnt remember much however it was not a negative experience. We made reservations prior without any issues. Its very quiet and reserved. Plenty seats and also patio seating. We chose inside seating. The waitress was very attentive and sweet. Unfortunately, I forgot her name. The menu is viewable from a QR code. We ordered, wood grilled octopus, wood grilled oysters, sampler raw oysters, charcutierie board for starters. Then scallops and steak for entrees. Sweet yeast rolls were placed on the table. And can I say they were mighty and the staple beginner. The spirited drinks were "She's one in a melon"(a very light drink that was almost like a spritzer), Tiger style (smoked D'usse), espresso martini with Bailey's and An Old Fashion. All were happily enjoyed with no complaints. The starters came out and of course they were great. The grilled octopus was paired with a sauce and veggies that complimented it well. It had the right charr that presented well. The grilled oysters were very tasty and well seasoned. The charcuterie board was well put together with a large variety of cheeses, spreads, jams, meats and crustini. The various raw oyster selection was great and without the grainy sandy feel. Meals came out and I indulged heavily into my scallops that was paired with risotto and carrots. The light well seasoned pan seared scallops were amazing. I left nothing behind as I normally do not finish my meals. The GRILLED HANGER STEAK FRITES seemed to be well prepared and without complaint. I however, did not indulge in that meal. So the wife and I finally made it to Gunther and Co!!! I'm thankful we did. We received a text from the restaurant asking if we would like to sit outside due to beautiful weather. We obliged as they have a wonderful courtyard. It was a little buggy, but nice nonetheless. We started with the hummus. The brick oven bread was lovely. I didn't much care for the green hummus. I have learned that I prefer the traditional hummus. There was nothing wrong with it, it just wasn't my favorite. I then ordered the pork chop. The chop itself was huge. It was perfectly cooked and super juicy. It could have been a little more seasoned but the sauce it was paired with made it a perfect bite. Our server was great. She checked on us just enough but gave us space to enjoy our food. I will be going back expeditiously. read more

Came back a couple times recently with friends for happy hour and dinner. This last visit for dinner, we got seated in the back dining area. My first time sitting back there - this restaurant is a lot bigger than it appears from the front! We ordered Fried Green Tomatoes for our appetizer. It was crispy and juicy with great flavor. For our main, we got the Thai Seafood Hot Pot and Tea Smoked Duck Breast. The hot pot was huge and full of seafood and deliciousness. I loved the duck breast and the sauce which tasted divine. Our drinks were great and our server was just attentive enough for our needs. Another amazing experience here as always. read more

This restaurant is much larger than I expected. There's a nice bar right when you walk in with plenty of seating, and tables extend toward the back of the restaurant. It also looks like there's a second floor for larger groups or events. The exposed brick gives it that classic Baltimore charm, and I loved the open kitchen because you can see a bit of the food prep while dining in the main area. The wine selection was great, and both the service and food were excellent. The octopus appetizer was my favorite. I personally would have liked a bit more spice in the seafood hot pot, but overall, it was a great dinner experience. read more

We came here for the first time this Sunday for Father's Day brunch and really enjoyed it! Our server was fantastic and everyone we interacted with was super friendly and welcoming, even on such a busy day! I had the Killa Bees: The Swarm, it comes in a cute bear honey glass, it was so refreshing. We also had the Prickly Pony Club, which was delicious. The lobster rangoon was so delicious, and the presentation was lovely. The shrimp and oyster gumbo was spicy and savory. For entrees, I really enjoyed the shrimp and asparagus risotto. The shrimp was a bit overcooked but really well spiced, and I think the risotto could have been creamier but that didn't stop me from eating it all. My husband had the Thai pork ribs over rice noodles and it was so good! The pork was tender and it complemented how light the noodles were. I think it could have come with more sauce! Great experience here. Came for dinner on a Friday. The bar was packed but the restaurant wasn't. Started with the Parker house rolls. They were great & made me want more. The steak frites were cooked well. Had one drink (can't remember the name) but it was pretty and had edible glitter. Also shared a bottle of wine that was recommended by the waiter. Gunther & Co is a great spot in Canton that I'd highly recommend. My boyfriend and I dined here for date night and we had a lovely time. The service was great, everyone was attentive to us despite it being very busy, and all of our food was delightful. The seating arrangements for two-person tables are a bit cramped, but that's to be expected at most places in the city. We started with some cocktails at the bar while we waited for our table to be ready - both cocktails were delicious and not too sweet, I could tell they really thought these drinks out. The prices for the cocktails were pretty average for a nice drink at one of these places, so no complaints there. I got the miso cod and boy, it was delicious. Absolutely no complaints - it tasted fresh, was cooked perfectly, and accompanied by great sides. My boyfriend got the duck and it was delightful, too. Something that we both loved was how fresh the ingredients really were. All the produce had great flavor and quality, well worth the price points of the dishes we got. We ended with splitting the cheesecake and it was amazing. We had a fabulous meal here for our first visit ever. Emma was our waitress and was absolutely fabulous. Her recommendations were spot on and she was the perfect level of attentiveness. We had the beef tartare appetizer and the duck spring rolls to start. Both very good. Then my daughter had the kids pizza which was HUGE and I had the miso cod. Super impressed with Gunther & Co! Parking can be great if you luck up and find a spot literally in front of the door like I did. Whew! Service was truly top notch! The place was bigger than I expected and felt elevated. The Parker rolls were delicious, maybe not $12 delicious, but delicious nonetheless. I got the butternut squash farrotto with shrimp, and it was full of flavor. Loved how all the ingredients complemented each other perfectly. I basically licked the plate. We celebrated birthdays, and they brought out a complimentary dessert for each of us that likely was just for birthdays (couldn't locate on menu). Some sort of brownie-ish bottom, ice cream middle, and meringue-ish top. It was deceptively good!! As an aside, we stayed late to catch up and talk (ensuring the restaurant wasn't full and folks weren't waiting for our table; it was end of evening). We never felt rushed at all. We were there on a weekday and shuffled off into a corner table for two. Food was first rate! The Tartar was EXCELLENT. We are suckers for cold chopped beef and this was great. Fun cocktail menu shines as well. Service was very professional, attentive and supportive. Well trained on the menu and service approach. Two Con's Its pricey.. they must have an exorbitant rent so I get it but... wow.. Apps as entrees and creative ordering helps manage that. It loud inside. Had reservations for a Friday night and enjoyed the whole experience. Parking was easy, the service was great, bathrooms were clean, and the food was tasty! We arrived early so we had some drinks at the bar and watched oysters being shucked. One of the drinks, I forget the name, had a cute presentation. The bathroom, which is at the front of the restaurant, is not separated by gender. First time I've seen that in the U.S. and it works! When our table was ready, they seated us on the back side of the restaurant where there are upstairs and downstairs sections. The restaurant is bigger than it seemed at first. Our waiter provided excellent service and shared some of his food favorites. We got the Thai Hot Pot and Steak Frites. The hot pot had a great spice level, was HOT (temperature), and was filled with seafood! The steak frites was as expected, and seasoned well. Overall, we had a great experience and would defitely try this restaurant again. This spot is so inconspicuous! I love the open space and sunlight that showers the dining room. This was my second visit to catch up with a friend over brunch. The one thing I will say is I wish the menu had more to offer. It's a bit limited. This visit I had the eggs Benedict, cheesy grits (again), and a side of sausage. Everything was good, but nothing really stood out. Well, the cheesy grits were very cheesy, which I like. My bestie had their french toast with a side of bacon. That bacon was cooked to perfection! What I will brag on is their craft cocktails! I remembered that from my last visit. This time we both ordered the Gangsta's PEAR-adise! Although we arrived slightly before our reservation we were warmly welcomed by the hostess and provided a seat at the bar. The bartender was very helpful in providing information about specialty drinks. The restaurant is very nice. We were seated upstairs and had slight views of the kitchen and bar atrium. Our waitress was very kind and had helpful suggestions regarding the menu. I had chicken, ribs, Mac and cheese and collard greens (it was Father's Day... Lol), we shared charbroiled oysters, my wife had chicken Alfredo, and both kids had steak and fries. I had a drink called the "tiger style" which is a mix of bourbon, Cognac bitters and other magic. Gunther & Co is a charming spot that has a modern rustic vibe going on. It's much bigger than it appears from the front and has a very nice outdoor area in the rear. I visited this venue today for a baby shower. We had a prefix menu, including orange juice and cake. We were allowed to set up some decorations at our table before the shower actually started. All the staff was SUPER nice and tended to us like beloved children. This place was impeccably clean and it was a lovely restaurant to have this event. The drawback? The food. I was pretty underwhelmed. The sweet breads before the entrees were just ok. I ordered the French toast and thankfully I ordered a side of bacon because the entree was measly. The toast was too toasted and I had to cut off the edges. And finally, the cake was very...bland, and a little on the dry side. Came in with a group of 10 for a work lunch. I loved the interior of the restaurant, it was classic Baltimore red bricks with greenery on the wall. The patio was also very cute, but didn't have seating for our party size. For apps, we had the hummus and the burrata, which were good and large enough for all of us to get to try. For my entree, I had the Squash Flatbread and added prosciutto. I probably wouldn't get it again, there wasn't much flavor to it and the bread was pretty charred. We came here for a weekday holiday dinner. It was crowded but that's to be expected this time of year. It was nicely decorated for the holidays. Very open atmosphere and layout. We got a Caesar salad, halibut ceviche, scallops, and fries. Everything was fresh and seasoned well. The sauce from the scallops was delicious we dipped the fries in it. Next time I would ask for a side of the sauce for the fries it was so good together. We loved the seasonal menu! We only got wine but the choices were abundant. My fiancé and I had dinner at Gunther & Co for the first time tonight and absolutely loved it! Service was prompt and attentive. The restaurant itself is gorgeous with a very industrial feel. We both had bourbon cocktails, both of which were excellent! The Rye'd or Die may be one of my new favorite drinks downtown! We started with the Parker House Rolls and Charcuterie Board. The board was phenomenal and a great amount of food for the price. The rolls were a bit pricey at $12 for 4. Tasty, but probably not worth $3 a piece.
