Came back a couple times recently with friends for happy hour and dinner. This last visit for dinner, we got seated in the back dining area. My first time sitting back there - this restaurant is a lot bigger than it appears from the front! We ordered Fried Green Tomatoes for our appetizer. It was crispy and juicy with great flavor. For our main, we got the Thai Seafood Hot Pot and Tea Smoked Duck Breast. The hot pot was huge and full of seafood and deliciousness. I loved the duck breast and the sauce which tasted divine. Our drinks were great and our server was just attentive enough for our needs. Another amazing experience here as always.

This restaurant is much larger than I expected. There's a nice bar right when you walk in with plenty of seating, and tables extend toward the back of the restaurant. It also looks like there's a second floor for larger groups or events. The exposed brick gives it that classic Baltimore charm, and I loved the open kitchen because you can see a bit of the food prep while dining in the main area. The wine selection was great, and both the service and food were excellent. The octopus appetizer was my favorite. I personally would have liked a bit more spice in the seafood hot pot, but overall, it was a great dinner experience.

Great brunch spot. Really cute, good food and drinks, and spot on service. Everyone at my table did espresso martinis and we loved the cute designs they put in the foam. We split oysters and they were great, very fresh. I got the chilaquiles and they were very good. It was a good portion size and not too heavy like the dish can be at some places. I would come back!

We came here for the first time this Sunday for Father's Day brunch and really enjoyed it! Our server was fantastic and everyone we interacted with was super friendly and welcoming, even on such a busy day! I had the Killa Bees: The Swarm, it comes in a cute bear honey glass, it was so refreshing. We also had the Prickly Pony Club, which was delicious. The lobster rangoon was so delicious, and the presentation was lovely. The shrimp and oyster gumbo was spicy and savory. For entrees, I really enjoyed the shrimp and asparagus risotto. The shrimp was a bit overcooked but really well spiced, and I think the risotto could have been creamier but that didn't stop me from eating it all. My husband had the Thai pork ribs over rice noodles and it was so good! The pork was tender and it complemented how light the noodles were. I think it could have come with more sauce! I am looking forward to coming back and trying more of the menu!

Great experience here. Came for dinner on a Friday. The bar was packed but the restaurant wasn't. Started with the Parker house rolls. They were great & made me want more. The steak frites were cooked well. Had one drink (can't remember the name) but it was pretty and had edible glitter. Also shared a bottle of wine that was recommended by the waiter. Great recommendation and wish I would've written down the name. Would definitely revisit.

Bday dinner ( 7/23/2025 -5:15 pm)Our host was kind and so very charming and attentive. We sat in the beautiful outside area. The ambiance was WONDERFUL. There is a bar outside also; they have a happy hour. The food and drinks were great. There is parking near by at no cost. I will return to Gunthers!

Came here for my friends birthday and it did not disappoint. This was my third time at Gunther & Co and each time has been memorable. The open space in the dining area is truly one of a kind. The service was very attentive and polite. Our waitress was very helpful with menu choices. I had the pork chop and the steak tartare. Both were excellent. The pork chop was a huge portion which was perfect because I was starving. The tartare was very dijon forward but I love dijon so it was amazing.

Basque cheesecake was amazing- not too dense and had subtle flavors that made the dish interesting

I've been really impressed with the reliability of Gunther & Co service and food. They have a great space and service for private parties and events. On top of that, the brunch and dinner services are great. The menus vary seasonally and there's a good variety of dishes to meet anyone's dietary needs and preferences. The drink selection never disappoints either!

Gunther & Co is a great spot in Canton that I'd highly recommend. My boyfriend and I dined here for date night and we had a lovely time. The service was great, everyone was attentive to us despite it being very busy, and all of our food was delightful. The seating arrangements for two-person tables are a bit cramped, but that's to be expected at most places in the city. We started with some cocktails at the bar while we waited for our table to be ready - both cocktails were delicious and not too sweet, I could tell they really thought these drinks out. The prices for the cocktails were pretty average for a nice drink at one of these places, so no complaints there. I got the miso cod and boy, it was delicious. Absolutely no complaints - it tasted fresh, was cooked perfectly, and accompanied by great sides. My boyfriend got the duck and it was delightful, too. Something that we both loved was how fresh the ingredients really were. All the produce had great flavor and quality, well worth the price points of the dishes we got. We ended with splitting the cheesecake and it was amazing. The cheesy, rich cheesecake with a fresh chantilly cream, crunchy hazelnut praline, and gooey, thick blueberry compote was a divine combination ! We'll definitely be back!

The service was really nice here. We went on a Wednesday without a reservation and were seated pretty quickly. The food was delicious and it's a nice spot in the canton area. We left the restaurant feeling very satiated and wanting to come back for more :)

This is a great brunch spot in the Canton area. I'd love to come back for dinner since the menu offers more variety.

We had a fabulous meal here for our first visit ever. Emma was our waitress and was absolutely fabulous. Her recommendations were spot on and she was the perfect level of attentiveness. We had the beef tartare appetizer and the duck spring rolls to start. Both very good. Then my daughter had the kids pizza which was HUGE and I had the miso cod. The coconut sauce it was in was fabulous. For dessert we had the peaches and cream and flourless chocolate cake. Both really good but the Peaches was my favorite. All around a great meal!

My friend said I had to come here. We did. As soon as we stepped out of the Uber the adventure began. The building is so out dated but the entrance door held its charm. Neon lit Edgar portrait reading from a book his Annabel Lee. Complete with a bouquet of flowers. To the right more words of the writer surrounded with a few tables and chairs for those willing to chill in the cold. Inside was no different. Several crows, skulls everything you'd expect. And a well stocked bar. Many writings on the wall, articles, awards, etc all added to the vibe and theme. And of course dimly lit but you could still read the menu. We were guided to the back for our party of 5, in a corner away from everyone else. That made it easy for us to converse as we perused the menu exclaiming this and that of the dreadful names used and deathly ingredients mixed in. It definitely made it more appetizing. After working all day I was ready for a drink and settled on the To Isadore; gin, lavender syrup, lemon squeeze topped with segura cava. That hit the spot. Unfortunately, I had eaten quite a bit on this trip and forced myself to order the Chef Salad. Nothing more to say there. My wife, though, ordered the seafood lasagna. Never had that and it didn't sound like something I could get into. I was wrong. This is Baltimore. The seafood here is astounding. It was delicious and had to take a couple spoon fulls. My friend ordered the double beef patty burger. I was jealous until he offered me a bite. That was really good too, and juicy. If you're looking for an experience and are not too afraid you may want to visit Annabel's. I do recommend it and do insist coming after the sun has been well down.

A few of us came early and got drinks at the speakeasy upstairs which I definitely recommend! It had a great drink menu and cool vibe. For actual dinner, the restaurant itself had an eclectic menu and swanky decor. The service was spotty. I had to ask for water refills 2x. Also for a group of 12, it took about 7 mins for everyone to be served food. Yes, this is a large party, so you must have several servers come bring the food when you're charging these prices. It should've been a seamless experience but we had several friends waiting on their food while others were halfway through. The food quality itself was hit or miss. The pork belly app was delicious! Crispy and tender. But the octopus was overly chewy and weird. We had 2 dishes with it and both were cooked like that, it wasn't good. The lobster poutine was delicious and went quick. Paella was okay - the shellfish was overcooked and seemingly dried up. Drinks were good and staff was friendly. Overall, there are a lot of kinks to work out. I'd like to come back but at the price point, I wish our experience was better and wish the food was more consistently good.

I actually found Union Hill while planning my friend's 40th birthday dinner from another state, and from the moment I reached out, everything just flowed. I inquired about hosting a dinner and one of the owners, Matt, got back to me within a day. From there, the planning felt effortless. He answered all my questions, stayed in communication, and really helped bring the whole vision together. We had close to 30 people for the dinner in one of their private dining areas, and when I say the staff was impeccable... they were ON IT. My friend had no idea where she was going, so this was a full surprise. Once we gave the staff the green light, they were ready and immediately started accommodating everyone. Everything just flowed from there. We did family-style appetizers, which I loved because everyone got to try a little bit of everything. Everything was flavorful and came out at the perfect pace. For my entrée, I had the salmon and it was so good. And listen... I hosted the whole thing, ate there that night, AND still had leftovers to take home. That's always a win. They were also super accommodating leading up to the event. I was able to drop off the cake and cake pops the evening before, and I was even able to decorate the private dining area, which made everything feel really personal. What could have easily been a stressful experience ended up feeling seamless. The restaurant atmosphere is beautiful. The private dining area worked perfectly for our group, and they even have an upstairs outdoor area as well as a downstairs outdoor space, which I didn't get to experience this time but definitely want to the next time I go back. As you can see from my previous review, we did not have the best experience the first time. But tonight was absolutely amazing. I think we must've just caught them on an off day the last time. This time everything was perfect. The entire staff was kind, warm, welcoming, and helpful. Our waitress, Greeta, was absolutely amazing. And when I say amazing, I mean really stupendous. We got the chicken fingers for my youngest daughter, and they came with a marinara sauce. But of course she wanted ketchup. We asked Greeta if they had any ketchup and as it turns out, they did not. But Greeta went to another restaurant nearby and brought back some packets of ketchup. If that isn't going above and beyond, then I don't know what is. The food was absolutely stellar. We got a lot of things and shared them, but some favorites even amongst all the deliciousness were the whipped ricotta, the Caesar salad, the chicken marsala, the diver scallop entrée, and the tuna appetizer. The cocktails and wine were also fabulous. Absolutely deserving of 5 stars and now we can't wait to go back!

Whenever I see a local restaurant/chef nominated for such an award, I try to get there to see what it is all about. Unfortunately, my first visit was not good. It began with our seating. For this outing, I was with my wife. We arrived and were immediately seated at a small two-seated table directly in front of the main entrance. The restaurant was extremely busy, and the table we were seated at was basically at the crossroads of all the traffic. Also, the location was very cramped and made it hard to move. With that, the worse of the problems was actually being so close to the main entrance on a cold evening. The door was constantly opening and closing allowing blasts of frigid air each time. That made our seating exceptionally uncomfortable. I can sometimes look past bad seating, understanding that it is important to get as many people in so the restaurant can make money. Many times great food can make up for shortcomings in other parts of a restaurant. Moreover, amazing service can really make me forget about those seating issues. To start, we got the Arancini Funghi appetizer. To my concern, it seemed to come out exceptionally fast: about 4-minutes after we ordered. And wouldn't you know it, the arancini was frozen most of the way through. It took a decent amount of time for the server to return, he was very nice, and took the frozen appetizer away. It took over 10-minutes for a new one to come out. At that point I was agitated. When I tried the new arancini appetizer that was brought out, it was cooked well, but had almost zero flavor. Needless to say, I was done for the night. After another long break of waiting for the server, who was very attentive to a four-top a few tables away, came back, I told him to cancel my order. My wife did get hers. Now, back to the service. We went for long intervals without our server coming to see how we were doing or trying to actually remedy the situation. He was constantly focused on the four-top that I guess was going to be the better tip. I guess since I had canceled my main course, he knew the tip would not be as good. In any case, the service was lackluster for the whole evening. My wife got the Ricotta Cavatelli that came with lobster. To me, it looked too soupy. She said it was a little soupy but was good. Personally, I did not try it and was ready to go. In the end, we were also charged for the arancini appetizer that had to be re-fired. I was not happy about that. If a restaurant makes a mistake, the customer should not be charged for it even if they receive a re-fired replacement. Our server, even though very nice, was not very attentive to us and more worried about a four-top. The frozen arancini was frustrating. The re-fired replacement was flavorless. Our table was in a terrible location and we were constantly blasted by gusts of cold air the whole time. In the end, the experience was not good. Will I return to give Marta a second chance? Yes. I don't like writing negative reviews, but the experience was bad enough for me to write one. When I return, and the experience is much better, I will write a new positive review. Until then, 2 stars is all I can give.

I asked him if this was the same sent back plate of food and he said "yes" and said the added the avocado. They UNWRAPPED the original wrap and just added the avocado and brought the entire plate back. I immediately questioned how that follows food handling guidelines. If they weren't going to redo the order, they could have just brought avocado slices to the table! The MANAGER had a very dismissive, RUDE attitude and so I sent everything back and left. I did tip the waitress cash because she was great and had got us drinks by that point. Again, she was nice and side-eyed the manager agreeing what he did was not acceptable. Apparently he also had a rep for being rude and nasty. I will never eat there again. You have a kitchen with seafood and meats and have no food handling controls? I came here to have dinner with a friend around 5:45 p.m., and the atmosphere was honestly one of…read morethe highlights of the night. The restaurant felt very romantic and intimate, and it wasn't crowded at all, which made it perfect for a relaxed, cozy dinner. I ordered the lamb shank with vegetables. The lamb was tender and satisfying, and the vegetables were especially delicious. The dish could have used just a little more seasoning, but overall it was still very enjoyable. My friend ordered the lamb wings, which he didn't love he felt they were a bit tough but he didn't send them back or make a big deal about it. The restaurant itself is really cute and tucked away nicely in Fells Point. It has a warm, inviting vibe that makes you want to linger and enjoy your meal. I'd definitely come back again, especially for a low-key, romantic evening or a chill dinner with a friend.

Hey friends! We were in Baltimore for Monster Jam and wanted a nice brunch nearby. It's a nice…read moreoption as it's less than 10 minutes(driving) from CFG Bank Arena. Twist is a Mediterranean style restaurant that offers a BYOB brunch. They have few overpriced options for juice if you would like to make mimosas or cocktails. We ordered a pineapple juice pitcher($15) to go with our bottles we brought in. I ordered the breakfast burrito, it came with a side salad & potatoes. The food was satisfactory! Service was slow and poor. Yes it was busy, but, the amount of times we had to call for service was unacceptable. Our server brought a cooler to place our bottles in then we were forgotten about. Our server finally came and took our order with no machine or notepad. We were skeptical about our order being wrong, and SURPRISE, it was wrong. My boyfriend ordered the Twist Royale with pancakes but was brought French toast. We informed our server and Not only did he only bring ONE pancake back, he also took the French toast slice. What's the point of taking it back? It cannot be re-served so it would've gone in the trash anyway. He also never apologized for the inconvenience. -Beware of the $8 corkage fee per person for BYOB. -Parking can be rough especially on weekends. -Prices are high. We spent about $90 for two people.

We popped in right at 7 one morning before work and actually beat the server and the hostess there. The staff was friendly and mostly left us alone but for frequent coffee refills, and the food was about what I expected from a restaurant that is basically a different version of IHOP. The bacon was thick and crispy and way better quality than anticipated and the over easy eggs were cooked perfectly, which is rare. The protein and buckwheat pancakes were nice surprises on the menu and were quite tasty. The neighborhood has a dearth of true weekday breakfast places, and this is a nice option. It's also huge and could easily accommodate a large crowd.

Ordering the Florentine Benadict fresh tomato, spinach, and the best hollandaise sauce I've tasted. It comes with a side of french toast, made with fresh brioche brought it daily from a Baltimore bakery. Thick cut and the center tasted like creamy custard, paired with homemade strawberry syrup and fresh whipped cream. We also tried the Shrimp Skillet, fresh jumbo shrimp on potatoes with avocado, spinach, peppers and two eggs your way. There is a wide selection of all things delicious on the menu that will definitely have us coming back for more!! Our server Kate was awesome!! She made excellent and honest recommendations such as the Florentine Benedict hyping the up French toast as it deserves. OPH closes daily at 2:30 but you'll want to get there early, certain menu items are made to order and will be a 30 - 45 minute wait. They are also happy to accommodate large parties!
