I've been eating breakfast in Sacramento most weekends for the greater part of a year (covid permitting). This was the best breakfast I've had thus far. I'll talk about the food. I had a polenta dish with Chile verde, two eggs, and some corn tortillas. Everything was cooked perfectly and the polenta still had corn kernels which made the texture perfect. The place is cash only and the coffee is average at best. The service was good and simple with 6-7 total tables. The meal I had did not disappoint. I rarely get excited about coming back for a meal (let alone the same meal), but there's a good chance I'll be back tomorrow. Paid $15 with a meal and coffee. Worth it read more

I got the vegetarian chili nachos which were good but not the best I've had. The nachos underneath were dry and could have used more chili/cheese. Overall was tasty and I enjoyed the nachos. I appreciate all the vegetarian options and want to try the others! I loved how they wrapped it to go so it wouldn't squish the nachos. read more

OMG! I 100% agree with all of the amazing reviews. I have been wanting to try this amazing place out for a long time, but I'm never in that area. I happen to be today and said why not try?! I LOVE nopales and it's so hard to find places that use the ingredient well, or at all in the area. I think this breakfast changed my life, lol. I got half and half on the enchilada sauces and everything was incredible. I cannot wait to try their machaca and other items! Also, I called in about 15 times and the line was busy, I thought, ok I'm just going to keep driving in that direction and order when I get their, I have a little time to kill. I am so grateful to everyone and yelp for helping me find this place. One word.... Amazing! The Chilli Colorado ..... Oh, the Chilli Colorado.... Every single component of that dish was Perfect! The eggs were spot on with all of the whites cooked through but the yolks spread out their golden love perfectly into the beef and potatoes. I picked up my bestie, and she mentioned this place, which I agreed to try. My first impression was that it was small and crowded with people, which is usually a good sign, but I prefer a bit less chaos. We stood in line in the tiny crowded place, not really knowing the menu. I quickly chose the chorizo omelette, and my friend went for the green chile cactus omelette. We also saw a child eating a pancake with bananas and decided to order one too. We went outside to sit at a table, and while waiting for our food, a table inside opened up, so we grabbed it. My family and I have been going to Nopalitos for YEARS, so we're frequent customers. The staff are so personable and it's so easy to like them. The service is so impeccable, I can't even put it into words here. It's that GOOD. The resturant stays busy, as it should, so the ambiance may be a little louder than normal. The flavors are great. Great potatoes, great eggs, chorizo is okay (it's lean so it doesn't taste like a classic chorizo but it's good for what it is). However, I highly recommend getting a plate and not getting a burrito. The tortilla was very large with not very much filling, and it was very loosely wrapped. It was messy. Get a plate. This place is always VERY busy, but the service is still really great. Came here for breakfast. I had the machaca with eggs. Hubby got 3 pancakes with bacon. The beef in the machack was very tender and moist. Eggs were cooked just right. The pancakes were very large and very fluffy. Hubby thought the bacon was chewy. He likes it crispy. Next time he should order crispy. My go to meal is the chili verde plate. Very clean place with about 6 tables. Order at the counter (cash or check only) and William brings your food to the table. He is very hospitable and friendly. I try to go about once a month. My boyfriend and I were in the area on a Friday so I knew that would finally be our chance to try Nopalitos! My coworker told me about it but they aren't open on weekends so it's been bookmarked for months. You order at the front counter and they give you a number to take to your table. When we arrived around 8:30am it was already pretty full since the place isn't that big. It took about 15 minutes for our food to arrive. I had the Huevos Rancheros and it was DELICIOUS. The eggs were perfect and still runny inside. The beans were flavorful and the green chili sauce and pico brought everything together. The melted cheese and sour cream went well with the dish also. It came with three corn tortillas on the side which were hot. The potatoes themselves were delicious. They were soft but slightly crispy and well seasoned; the onions and peppers were cooked down nicely as well. My boyfriend had the smoked bacon scrambled egg plate and he loved it. The bacon was thick and crispy but still had some chew to it. The scrambled eggs were fluffy and went well with the pico. Overall, delicious Mexican breakfast for a fair price! I believe it was under $20 for the two of us. Unfortunate that it's out of the way for me, they aren't open weekends, and they only take cash. Great food for a great price! We've been coming here for several years now and the quality of the food is always perfect. The burritos and tacos are a great size and come with chips. The chicken is my favorite! Parking at times can be difficult but I usually just park on the adjacent street and walk. Be sure to get to the restaurant before it closes as their times are different than your normal restaurant. The inside is always clean and there's always a worker cleaning up tables once a group is done eating. Overall, the interior is small but has an authentic design that goes well with their food. I've seen many awards and certificates on their wall which is impressive. Staff are very friendly! You can tell they care about their business and customers. If you're looking for something different than your normal Chipotle, you have to try this place! I only wish they were open on the weekends or for dinner! read more

First time here and had the Little Cactus Special with half and half ranchero sauce and chili verde sauce, with a Mexican hot chocolate to drink. Note, it's cash only! And they do not have an atm on the property. Little Cactus Special was delicious and I would hands down order again. I particularly enjoyed the corn kernels for the popping texture and mild sweetness when eaten together with all the soft, savory elements of the dish. My only critique is that I wish the tortillas could have been a little crispy, again for the texture contrast. But that won't stop me from ordering it again. Mexican hot chocolate wasn't good. Very watered down chocolate flavor and I didn't detect any hint of spices or anything else to make it stand apart from a typical mediocre hot chocolate. We went here after 2 and the lunch menu was Ordered the nopalitos taco which tasted like canned chili with only 6 pieces of beef cubes, with wilted lettuce and old guacamole. The shell was fried in old oxidized oil. Hubby ordered the chicken tostada and it was drenched in canned beans and dried chicken with the same wilted lettuce and guacamole.
