I would probably say one of my favorite breakfast spots in sac. Why? It's a no frills non experimental mom and pop shop. Yes they do have the unique pancakes and French toast with fruits etc but I came to see what a good old fashioned French toast, eggs benny and biscuits and gravy were all about. The mimosas were good both mocktail and and with liquor. They are kinda small I wish they were just a little bigger. And their servers were so sweet and brought up their yogurt which cleaned my palate after eating hearty comfort food. What we ordered below. You can check out the review I made on IG and tik tok @ TheFood.snob Drinks: * The "That's Pretty" mimosa--edible glitter, seasonal fruit, peach syrup, ginger beer--flashy, but surprisingly balanced. * For a spirit-free option: "It's Green"--kiwi, mint, jalapeño. Bright, refreshing, with a subtle kick. The mains: * Fried chicken & waffle--crispy, deeply savory, dialed in * Brioche French toast--rich, indulgent, soaked in maple butter * Biscuits & gravy--thick, creamy, unapologetically savory * Eggs Benedict--perfectly poached, with a house hollandaise that carries

Eggs Benedict with fruit

I'm giving this five stars because I love classic 60s 70s types of diners where they have just good basic breakfast.. Nothing special and fancy but just good comfort breakfast food like biscuits and gravy and Eggs Benedict with great hashbrowns. Their service was super attentive. We kept on getting coffee and water and nonstop. The interior is what you would expect of a basic diner with brown chairs and seating at the bar. It's what I would want in a place like this. I'll definitely be back.

Amazed that they have GF/V waffle... it was descent. Side veggies was great! Staff were friendly and helpful.

I'd say the service was pretty good and they had like a foh/bouncer employee at the front door, which was like shocking. Food came out relatively quick, and the mimosas were a nice hit in the morning. Prices were a little high for everything, mine was reasonable, but the other menu items were a little eh. Good food and staff though.

Maple Sage Fried Chicken

Haven't been here in years and didn't really remember my last visit, but we were walking around Midtown and wanted lunch. Luckily, we were seated without a wait around noon even though it was busy inside. My girlfriend ordered the Belgian waffle and I got the maple sage fried chicken. Food came out very quickly, and the waiter was a bit blunt but attentive. The country potatoes were really good, fluffy yet crispy. The chicken itself was great, crispy and juicy without being greasy. It was a solid fried chicken, but there was almost no maple or sage flavor, which was a bit confusing. The sausage gravy was absolutely stellar. Honestly, the best way to judge a breakfast spot is by its gravy, and theirs had a lot of layers of flavor, deep and rich. Eggs were cooked perfectly to order, and the toast was just standard buttered toast. I tried a bite of the waffle too, and it was super airy yet crispy, really nice. Overall, a solid spot and pretty fair pricing for being on the grid compared to other places.

My go-to #1 breakfast establishment in the Sacramento area! I'm here for Bdays, Mothers days, really any celebratory reason haha. From the service of the amazing staff to the sage fried chicken and waffles, the Benedict's, the mimosas. I also love the art they have for sale from local artist on the walls. Super incredible place. It is downtown so you should be used to the bums by now but they keep to themselves.

Salsa omelette (before )

Went for a breakfast before our sandbox experience. Friendly and welcoming staff. Our server was very pleasant to make recommendations based on dietary restrictions. I tried salsa omelette - it was mouth licking delicious! Potatoes were crispy, salsa had perfect kick to it. Nothing too spicy but flavorful staff was very observant as they did offer coffee refill on time. Nice and quick service. Would definitely recommend the place.

What a fun, hoppin' joint! Joined some out of town friends for Sunday brunch here recently. Friendly service and food was delivered pretty quickly. We shared chicken and waffles and the traditional eggs Benedict with loaded hash browns. The latter was quite good with tasty hollandaise sauce, but the loaded hash browns were a bit disappointing as the cheese wasn't even melted (cold hash browns?). The waffle was good but the chicken was on the dry side and I didn't love the corn meal crust. Friends had a BLT (looked good) and a single huge pancake with a side of sausage patties. Coffee was strong and delicious. I'd definitely hit this place again!

Glad we came during the week. Less busy. Excellent service. Delicious food!!! Cute fork wall Husband loved the chicken & waffles. Kids loved their pancake. Big enough to share

Ughhhhh wish this spot was closer to home!! To keep a long story short, this is your diamond in the rough, classy, mom and pops, one of a kind, hole in the wall breakfast joints. Parking? Good luck. It's down town Sac so it is what it is. Our server was sassy - but sassy in a very good way because that's precisely how we knew this was a TOP breakfast spot! Iykyk. Service was fast, friendly, prompt, and accurate. Pancakes were delicious, fluffy, and filling. Corned beef was made with perfection. Now the highlight - their egg benedicts are the BEST we've had near and around the Roseville area! We've had our share around Lincoln, Rocklin, Roseville, and Sacramento. Now THIS is how you make an egg benedict. Wife had crab egg benedict - was hands down the BEST dish we had for breakfast in quite some time. Forget the fancy spots. This is it, your search has ended. Decor brought me back to the good'ol days with nothing but simple, good food that'll send you loving the rest of day no matter what. Highly recommended for everyone, families, friends, and even solo solos! Follow your nose and it'll lead you right over to The Morning Fork.

We started the day at opening at Morning Fork for a good American breakfast in a diner setting. The place fills up quickly, so I recommend arriving right at 8:00 AM for no-wait seating. The staff was very attentive with coffee refills and the food arrived quickly. My salsa omelette was excellent, featuring nice slices of avocado and a tasty touch of pesto sauce.

Combo (2 sides): fruit cup + roasted veggies

The skinny: Bacon waffle was decent Chicken and waffles is still excellent Super fast seating even on a busy day The lengthy: Too much eating out and sickness pushed our Thanksgiving treat to the very end of 2025! But we made it- the service as always was attentive and kind. The hustle and bustle of a busy yet successful restaurant was ok with two kids and a baby stroller. The art on the walls allows for plenty of good question and answer, "What are the paintings for?" "What do the numbers mean?" We elected to give the children more choice which they used on a bacon waffle. We also ordered the chicken and waffle, with extra chicken, a biscuits and gravy and seasonal veggies. Chicken & Waffle: crunchy and flavor Chicken, fluffy and crispy waffle Bacon Waffle: "not too salty, not too sweet" (i.e., Goldilocks) Biscuits and Gravy: a bit salty and less meat in the gravy than expected Seasonal Veggies: asparagus and mushrooms well-flavored with salt, onions and garlic There are no pictures for this meal because we learned from the last time: it's amazing when it's hot! Biscuits and gravy could go down a few notches on saltines and up on protein. We will be back next year

Chicken and waffles

There's nothing particularly awful about this place but it wouldn't be my pick for breakfast or brunch in Sacramento. The service here is good. There are many staff ready and wiling to help you. So much so that I had three individuals ask for my drink order and based on the loud nature of the restaurant received an extra drink that we didn't really need. No worries though, we were fine paying for that mistake. The food is good, but I haven't found my favorite thing yet. The chicken and waffles is a hefty plate and both done really well. I will say the breading on the chicken is very unique, perhaps a cornmeal? The same breading comes on the country fried steak which does not adhere as well. The meat in that was also very tough and hard to cut and chew. The hash browns were fine and the biscuits and gravy were a bit better than average. The chai I ordered came extremely sweet, but I still enjoyed it. The breakfast burrito also looked good and came with two sauces. I would say if you had to come, the best item would be the chicken and waffles.

Do make sure to make reservations before coming in, luckily a table opened up and the host was able to get us seated promptly. Again we get it was the bartenders area but you would think since it's the weekend you would have two bartenders working that area. When it comes to the food, my wife's brisket Benedict was pretty solid nothing crazy but my meal was probably the worst one.... When I hear the words " anything scramble" i think of a bunch of ingredients mixed together as a scramble. This was more of just scrambled eggs with some fried avocados on top. These breakfast "potatoes" were also dissatisfying and flavorless. I've worked in the restaurant business and can tell you that I hated when people sent plates back so I'm not one to send my plates back and make complaints, but this one was very close to me breaking that personal rule. Personally I don't think I'll ever come back at least not for their breakfast hours.

However, it was a special occasion, so we committed to it on a holiday weekend. The wait was estimated at 1.5 hours for a party of 7, but it ended up being closer to 40 minutes, which honestly wasn't bad at all. The patio and waiting area are gorgeous and make the wait worth it on a beautiful day. Great shade from the trees, solid service, and a really nice ambiance overall. The menu is massive with a little bit of everything and huge portions, so it's quite hard to decide. I settled on the Madame Cristo because it sounded decadent and somewhere between lunch and breakfast, which felt perfect for brunch. And decadent it was. The cheesy ham and béchamel blended into this super rich, fatty bite balanced by the French toast it was sandwiched between. The eggs on top were almost overkill, but still a welcome addition for some protein. The chipotle raspberry jam was surprisingly good too, almost like a smoky raspberry salsa that added sweetness and helped cut through some of the richness. The potatoes were standard and nothing to write home about. It was definitely a lot, but pretty good and exactly what you expect from a brunch spot like this.
