    Side salad

Cute little Italian restaurant in midtown/downtown Sacramento. Recommended to make a reservation as they're often busy, no matter the day of the week. Friendly staff and they were able to accommodate our group of 12. Between the 12 of us, we tried a decent amount of the menu. Everything we tried (bolognese, Alfredo, salmon pasta, veal pasta, appetizers) was delicious. The standouts for me would have to be the octopus appetizer and bruschetta. And love the fresh pasta. Would come back and recommend.

We were able to be seated at the bar with no reservation! Arancini was crispy and bursting with flavor. House salad was a little bland and could have used a bit of oil a pepper or balsamic. However, the tomatoes that came with the salad were sooo good though lol The carbonara was okay...the salmon picatta was excellent.

Absolutely delicious spot! We didn't make a reservation but they were more than happy to accommodate for our party of four. Despite it being close to closing time, we did not feel pressured at all, along with other patrons who were still finishing their plates. The place is definitely a hole in the wall! I strongly recommend reading the history of the special place on the newspapers, placed on their outside windows to learn more about their history in Sac!

This is a small authentic Italian restaurant in Sac that was recommended by a coworker. Overall I liked how small and intimate the restaurant was (I don't like that I left there smelling like food though, that's my biggest pet peeve of smaller restaurants). Food: -fried octopus- 3/5 *I took away two points due to how oily it was. The flavor was amazing though and I loved how generous they were with the octopus portion -pasta- 3/5 quality noodles, good amount of meat but I just didn't love. It was overall a solid meal though

Adamo's is a great authentic Italian spot. I've gone many times over the years. In the last year or so, I feel like the service has been a little more hit or miss, but I think they have gotten back to solid ground lately. The food however is always spot on. Everything I have had has always been delicious - the stuffed pepper appetizers are especially good! They maintain such a cozy, authentic atmosphere inside, and I absolutely love dining in here. The topic of Italian food in Sacramento seems to be hotly debated, but I think Adamo's is consistently one of the best options. I will certainly continue to come back and stuff my face

I really enjoyed my solo date to adamo's! It is such a quaint restaurant. I love that it's a small and intimate restaurant and it was fun to have wine and pasta at the bar. I had the four cheese ravioli with the chili on the side and would definitely recommend ordering it like this if you want to control the spice level. The pine nuts on top were great and it had a great flavor. Portions for the pasta felt a bit small. The salad and bread were wonderful as well paired alongside it. The cannoli dessert was just okay. I felt it wasn't sweet enough and didn't really enjoy it. Id still be interested to try different desserts there and entrees. The waitresses at the bar were sweet and attentive and helpful with selecting which wine I should have with my meal.

We had such a wonderful time at Adamo's for their pasta cooking class! It was a fun and memorable experience, and a perfect way to celebrate mother's day. John, the owner, was an incredible instructor and guided us through some of the steps of making fresh raviol. We mixed the pasta dough, rolled it out and prepped the filling. The class was hands-on, engaging, and approachable for all skill levels. In addition to the cooking lesson, we were treated to a delicious cheese and jam appetizer, a fresh salad, and the opportunity to sample a couple wines throughout the class. The highlight, of course, was enjoying the ravioli we made ourselves, served with our choice between sauces. And it was honestly some of the best ravioli I've ever had! Between the fantastic food, excellent wine, and welcoming group atmosphere, this was such a special experience. We left full, happy, and excited to return next time for dinner!

Absolutely amazing time at Adamo's today. My husband and I along with our friends took the ravioli making class and it did not disappoint. Such an amazing instructor who was engaging throughout amd gave great instruction. We all had the opportunity to try each part of the process and got to eat our fresh made ravioli at the end of the class. We also got wine tasting during the class. We will 100% be back to take more classes. Thank you for holding these classes!!!

Honestly, I prefer this place over Paesanos. Had a great experience from the time I was greeted at the door to the time I left with a happy stomach. Got here at 6:30 party of 2 and was able to snag the last two seats at the bar. The waitress Jade was super friendly and awesome! Everything hit the spot: Octopus Appetizer 9/10. Super buttery, crispy, and delicious House salad 9/10 loved the chilled red peppers Bolognese 9/10 my fat ass honestly wanted to order another one LOL Garlic bread 6/10 was aiiite. Cannoli 8/10 icing on the cake! Will try the carbonara and the bruschetta next! Also wanna try that salmon pasta. I'll be back forsure!

I love freshly made pasta so I was excited to try Adamos. I had a reservation but they were busy so it took about 15 minutes to get seated. When I asked whether the carbonara or Alfredo was better our server was very confident in her response which I appreciated. I got the carbonara and really enjoyed it (though I wish the noodles were a little more al dente which I will ask for in future). My partner got the Bolognese, which he really liked. It had a good meaty flour, but wasn't a really overly rich. My friend got the pasta with the salmon and I had a taste of it. It was good, but I preferred the carbonara or the Bolognese. The side salad that came with the pastas was very fresh. We also had the arancini balls and the tiramisu which were both tasty but the pasta was the stand out. Staff were friendly and the restaurant had a nice relaxed atmosphere. I look forward to coming back again.

I only heard positive things of Adamo's and after a friend said they wanted pasta decided to come here. They have limited hours, so recommendations are highly suggested as it is a smaller restaurant. You may be seated at the bar if you dont have a reservation. We started off with risotto arancini with a cheese sauce, which comes in 3. I ordered the four cheese ravioli, which had a nice spicy kick to it. Not pictured, but included with our meal was a house salad and the bread. The ravioli was very cheese, and the pesto sauce was good as well. The drink menu consists mainly of wine, but we also ordered the italian cola which was refreshing. There were a lot of people but not too noisy where you couldnt have a conversation.

Adamo's Kitchen feels like a real neighborhood treasure -- cozy brick walls, warm lighting, and that "come-home" charm that instantly puts you at ease. The moment you sit down you know you're at a place that cares: handmade pasta, house sauces, and a vibe that blends casual comfort with real Italian spirit. The dishes here deliver big: the pappardelle Bolognese is rich and slow-simmered, the gnocchi or four-cheese ravioli melt with flavor, and the "sucio fries" -- crispy Kennebec fries topped with bacon, cheddar, poblano sauce, and sour cream -- are a surprisingly perfect start to any meal. The staff is welcoming and attentive, and even when the place fills up, there's a sense that each plate lands with care and honesty.

What are the best vegetarian options?

Hard to comment because their menu changes seasonally. Most of their dishes can be modified vegetarian. I really like the bruschetta and winter mushroom gnocchi.

Is it good for vegetarians who eat dairy and wggs?

I believe they have a margarita pizza. The servers are very helpful. I suspect accommodations can be made.

Do they offer gluten free options?

Yes we do our best to accommodate all food allergies. We currently offer both the risotto and meatballs with polenta as gluten free options. We do not have the capability to make gluten free pasta at this time.

BEST. DINNER. EVER…read more Picture This: We are one of those obnoxious couples who have the audacity to hold hands and sit on the same side during dinner. Maybe steal a kiss. Yep. That's us. We arrived at Ella just before our 9:15 reservation and were promptly sat at a beautiful table. And wow, this table was gorgeous! The beautiful design of the space keeps your eyes entertained on every level. Both beauty and intrigue. It is a feast for the eyes before you get to the actual feast. However, we were hoping for a more intimate date experience so we asked for somewhere a little more secluded. Without hesitation, we were moved to another, equally beautiful table. Enter Kelly and Hunter. These two help to make our evening even more spectacular. The ambience was perfect. We started with their signature cocktail, gin and tonic with their homemade tonic and a martini. Hey-ooo! Dang that was a good drink. And efficient ;) We moved onto the heirloom tomato starter. Here is where I realized it started to get a little difficult. I was trying to look polished and refined, and really, you could've licked the plate. My handsome man is a vegetarian so he got the Barada spaghetti. I'm assuming he liked it because he ate every last bite. That, and he told me it was delicious. I ordered the lobster risotto. I have a hard time with food that looks too pretty to eat. But, I stopped staring at the beauty of the plate once the delicious smell rose in the air. Best risotto I've ever had. Hands-down. Makes a second place look pretty sad. No dessert but that can be remedied the next time we visit. We ended up having one of those dates where we ordered the appetizer and an hour later we hadn't finished it because we were still talking. I realized we hadn't even finished our appetizer course and yet, the restaurant was almost empty. When Hunter came by to refill the waters, I apologized that we hadn't even started eating yet and asked what time they closed. Hunter proceeded to provide the most amazing interaction. Making eye contact with both of us, he very kindly explained how they wanted this dinner to be an utterly unique experience and not worry. That we are here to enjoy ourselves in this beautiful restaurant so drink in every moment. And so we did. Kelly was awesome. We chatted for a bit about the musical tattoos on her hands. Just kind and sincere. Incredibly diligent service. At no time was I in need of anything. Waters were kept full, table kept cleared, food served exactly on time. It's a well oiled machine underneath the vibrant atmosphere. The food was spectacular. The ambience was one of a kind. A feast at every level. PS - I'm positive the open kitchen in the back would've been fun to watch, if I could have peeled my eyes off of who was in front of me.

For my main dish, I ordered the Crispy Fried Half Chicken with roasted garlic. It arrived with a small bottle of their house‑made hot sauce and was served in generous cuts: two drumsticks, a wing, and a breast (or thigh). The batter was beautifully flaky without falling apart, and the chicken itself was juicy, tender, and perfectly cooked. The crisp coating practically melted before giving way to a light crunch, and the hot sauce added just the right amount of subtle heat. I enjoyed it so much that I found myself wishing for a dim corner where I could privately eat every piece straight off the bone with my hands. This is my first classic martini (unlike lychee martinis I've had before at other places). My server asked how I like it, with olive juice or with lemon twist or another option I don't remember. To be honest I don't know how I like it because it's is my first classic martini. So I was honest with him. I said I'll do whatever you recommend because I wanted to try a classic martini cuz I've been watching Gossip Girl. I felt silly admitting I wanted a martini because of a tv show. But my server actually did his research and found that Blair (a main character in the show) likes her martini with a lemon twist. And that is the martini I got. He brought frozen glass and poured the drink on the spot. It was such a vibe and a great drink. For food I got the grilled prawns. This dish is delicious and goes so well with my martini! This would help avoid the need for staff to present a dinner menu (which admittedly, I was confused by) and acknowledge that the first course options are all available but at no happy hour discount (which felt a bit awkward for all involved). A standard burger build but done perfectly! Beer was cold, food was great and the ambiance is a perfect local bar. Great spot to go if you don't mind hunting for a parking space.
