[[HIGHLIGHT]]Great Food & Service with Friendly Ambience.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff greats You and seats You fairly quickly depending on how busy they are obviously. Waters are brought to table and beverage orders are taken, to which I usually order coffee and they have flavored creamer as well as regular and half and half. My family loves coming here and the food never disappoints even tho I always have the same thing, Steak & Eggs

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This place is a cozy cafe style Mexican inspired sandwich/burger/brunch spot.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Serrano burger: B+ Had pastrami and Serrano peppers on it for a little bit of heat. I liked it a lot. Pastrami on burgers is a trend that I think needs more love! Not a big fan of the crinkle cut fries but they're okay.

This is a great mom and pop cafe. The price is reasonable and the portions are huge. Took my dad and family there for Father's Day. It was the perfect spot.

We were served right away however our experience wasn't what we had hoped it would be. We were in the area and saw this place had a 4.4 star rating which is the only reason why we came here to eat. Let me start off by saying I will never eat here again or recommend it to anybody and here is the reason why: 1. The club sandwich meat was sub par + dry 2. The breakfast was over cooked & very dry 3. We had to ask for napkins + silverware after our food arrived 4. See picture glass of water [[HIGHLIGHT]]Inside the restaurant, music was playing while the television mounted about 10 feet on the wall was playing the Dr. Phil show.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is outside dining, which look very inviting[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] however, the whole food experience left a bad taste in my mouth no pun intended.

Serrano's is solid fare but their prices have gone up recently. =( But I'm glad we have them as an option in West Sac.

Always looking for a good breakfast burrito in town. If look on Serrano's Cafe, you won't see one on their menu, but you can actually request to change their omelet into a burrito! My man picked up two Miss n Browns as breakfast burritos. They had hash browns, mixed with ham, bacon, eggs, cheese, and sausage. They are thick and big! Definitely will fill you up. Really no complaints about it. It goes great with some hot sauce. I wouldn't mind coming here for dine in and trying their other options!

    Chicken Fried Steak

Phenomenal. Amazing. And more! Great service and the best chicken fried steak with biscuits and gravy I've ever had ...seriously and literally!! And while I consider this a luxury, it was super cool that the food arrived within 10 minutes!!

Perfect poached eggs the whites were totally done and the yolks were not! Bacon was nice and crispy and the French toast was delicious.

I had to go to IKEA for storage bins and I was hungry. I saw this place on Yelp and decided to try it out! My birthday last week moved me into the Senior category! So I opted for the French toast, bacon and egg combo. It was under $10! I ordered my eggs poached and they were poached too perfection! The bacon I asked for crispy and it was perfectly crispy. The French toast was also delicious. It came with coffee too! If I'm out in West Sac again I'll be sure to stop by and eat! You should try the place. It's really good. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's lots of beautiful succulents. I sat outside and enjoyed those.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Spice It Up Scramble (No Cheese)
    Kyra K.

My Pop was craving a Reuben so I tasked him with finding a lunch spot for us. Yelp led him to Serrano's Cafe. We were hungry and left satisfied. We arrived at the restaurant an hour before closing. We sat outside since I brought my pup. The restaurant is a casual, hole-in-the-wall spot, not the cleanest though. Inside had some tables and outside had a few as well. We were one of the few customers, our waitress was sweet and did a good job juggling parties. Our food came out relatively fast. I love eggs and hash browns. So I enjoyed the Spice It Up Scrambled Eggs, No Cheese. The scramble wasn't spicy and I have a low spice tolerance. Good variety of ingredients and a hefty portion (took half to-go). It was comforting and did the job, but could've used more seasoning! The hash browns were thick and crispy. My Pop enjoyed his sandwich even though they were out of certain ingredients. Wanting a no-frills brunch or lunch spot? Serrano's Cafe is a great option in West Sacramento. They're located in a shopping plaza that has ample parking.

Best kept secret in West Sacramento! This place is absolutely amazing. The service is phenomenal and the food is incredible. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I love their prices and can't say enough about how clean the restaurant is or how attentive the staff always are.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I usually order the special with two eggs over easy, hash browns, sausage, and biscuits and gravy, it never disappoints. My husband loves their French toast. The coffee is always fresh and hot, too. I truly enjoy coming here with my loved ones. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and enjoyable every time.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I recommend it to everyone! Just a heads up, your waitress won't bring the bill to the table; you'll walk up to the register to pay. We can't get enough of this place. It's definitely my favorite!

There's a nice little park outside where you can sit outside and enjoy your lunch as well
    Thomas B.

We sat outside in the parklet. Our server was very, very nice. She had explained all the options to us on the menu and I went for the Reuben sandwich because they make their own in-house pastrami. Can't get better than that. It was moist and tasty just like it should be sliced nice and thin. Service was pretty fast and always with a smile. And the omelette that my daughter ordered was gorgeous. I would recommend eating here. And the price is very reasonable for what you get.

One of the standout features of this spot is definitely the outdoor patio. It's beautiful, thoughtfully designed, and such a relaxing place to spend time. As a parent, I especially appreciated that the kiddos had space to safely explore while I could actually sit, enjoy my drink, snack a little, and catch up with a friend. Everything about this space feels intentional and welcoming, from the house-made syrups to the inviting atmosphere. Such a great local spot to relax, enjoy quality coffee, and spend time with people you love. Seasonal Menu Review: The maple pecan iced latte was smooth, flavorful, and perfectly balanced without being overly sweet. The strawberry toast was fresh, delicious, and paired so well with the coffee. Then I noticed they offered soft serve and immediately ordered the strawberry shortcake flavor, which was such a fun and tasty surprise.

Bread on the tuna melt was great and the Cesar salad lettuce was super crunchy. Beautiful avocado toast and a double- shot of espresso to top it off. Parking lot available, lots of spaces.

Just gave me the address and said "street parking bro... good luck." Pull up and this place looks like your childhood friend's house that grew up, got a little money, found peace and turned into a café . Super cozy, cool vibe and honestly just has personality to it. Walked in and instantly greeted by Elena and let me tell you... Elena wasn't taking orders she was basically an offensive coordinator drawing up plays for breakfast lol . I told her it was my first time and she goes "I got you." That's all I needed to hear. She hooked me up with the Berry Blossom Milk Tea, Ultra Violet iced coffee, blueberry muffin and the breakfast burrito with bacon and avocado. Now the drinks? Solid. That Ultra Violet coffee had lavender, caramel and honey all entering the chat at once like they were forming the Avengers . Somehow it worked. Then came the burrito... now listen... at first I'm sitting there like "alright everybody calm down it's just a breakfast burrito." WRONG. This thing came out throwing hands immediately eggs, potatoes, bacon, avocado all packed into this perfectly toasted tortilla. Then the salsa showed up like a surprise guest star and took the whole thing to another level. I almost looked around for somebody's grandma in the back yelling "make sure that boy leaves full!" Sat outside watching the A's game, drinking coffee, enjoying the breeze and honestly it was the perfect Sunday reset. Steve my brother... you absolutely crushed this recommendation

She had a pretty serious demeanor and gave the impression that she didn't really want to be there. It's not a huge deal and I understand I'm not at like some Michelin star place, but I do think the customer service could be improved. One thing I also noticed was that the customer who ordered behind us received their items before we did, which was a little annoying. I've also been here for a friend's birthday during their karaoke wine night and it was such a fun and memorable experience. This place is truly a hidden gem in Sacramento and deserves way more recognition. I highly recommend the tri tip sandwich with their au jus. It is so good. You order at the counter, grab your own napkins, and condiments are set up in a corner for you to get yourself. Not necessarily a bad thing, but something to know before going in. The biggest surprise for us was the portion sizes. I ordered two pancakes with bacon, eggs, and a side of fruit. The fruit "side" consisted of one grape, one small slice of pineapple, one blueberry, and one slice of strawberry ,it honestly felt more like a garnish than an actual side. The eggs were very small, and the meal didn't come with toast. Even the orange juice was on the smaller side. For two breakfast plates, we paid $47, which felt pretty expensive considering the portions. I'm an average-sized adult and left still feeling hungry... The vibe inside felt a little all over the place, but I did appreciate that they sell and support local products like breads. My drink wasnt too sweet which I prefer. The hojicha latte was great as well! You don't see this often if at all so it was a pleasant surprise. The service was friendly and they were patient when I had questions on the standard vs the "twice" drinks. They have a shared parking lot which helps as they are off a busy stretch of road. The cons: They do not have size options for their beverages. Which for the most part isn't an issue except when I wanted a large drink. Which is why I bought 2. They partnered with Pastry Cat and unfortunately the common theme was they never had pastries even in 9am window. Not their fault but maybe partnering with a patisserie that offers consistent inventory might be worthwhile? The ambience is less "come and enjoy your drink" and more "we don't have enough seating"and use the space efficiently. I think if they update the layout of the tables and chairs, it would feel more inviting to sit for a bit or meet up with friends. The parking lot. It's terrible, crowded and people don't know how to park. I saw a couple of cars almost back into eachother while waiting and I was grateful I parked on the street and walked. Overall, the quality of the drinks and the friendliness are great and that receives 4 stars. If you want a quality matcha drink then give them a try. But I have access to other cafes that meet my needs; enough that Offbeat will be more of an off the beaten path option than a regular one.
