DIRTY AND UNPROFESSIONAL. My partner found an insect in her meal while we ate here recently. Mistakes can happen, but what made this experience unacceptable was how the situation was handled. When we brought it to the owner's attention, she dismissed our concern by saying, "I don't know where it came from. The broth is very clear." There was no apology, no accountability, and no effort to make things right. We were not offered a refund, nor was the dish replaced. Finding an insect in food is unacceptable in itself, but the complete lack of responsibility and customer care made this experience far worse. A good restaurant acknowledges mistakes and addresses them. This one did not. Safe to say I will not be returning, and I strongly urge others to consider this before choosing to dine here. read more

We went to Noodle Wrap for lunch on a Saturday. Our bill came to $30. We had the noodle wraps, stuffed wings, sweet n sour chicken and ka poon. The GOOD - the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. The food tasted good and it was fresh. The BAD - the Coke that was served to me was extremely flat, almost the opposite of the food, which was odd. There is no restroom or one that is properly labeled and visible. Lastly, none of the tables have salt or pepper and it created an odd conversation to have to ask for it. I would go back if I'm ever in the area. Most places in the Twin Cities do not serve this kind of food this well. read more

The gentleman (probably the owner) who served us was so sweet! His first greeting was to thank us for coming in. He was happy to answer any question we had and seemed very grateful to serve us. Incredible. The green beans in my meal (green bean with chicken lunch) were obviously fresh and the meal was delicious which gives me high hopes for the rest of the food. I couldn't get over how good the green beans were. Waiting for the check was slow. We needed to get going to we just walked up to the counter and asked to pay. read more

Frustrating!! That's the only word I have for this restaurant! Everytime I want to have a difference experience and end up frustrated!!! 1) Incredibly slow service! If you drink more than 1 glass of whatever, they never come back to refill. 2) The dishes come out 1 dish at time. That's ok if you're dining alone. But not so much if you have 2 or more in your party! 3) If you want substitute something in your order, they act like they don't know English. 4) Restrooms are locked! You need to ask for a key... A little irritating when you have to go and they're too busy to get you the key!! 5) Lunch time your order is a smaller portion but same price as supper, nothing letting you know on the menu. Noodle Wrap is an authentic Hmong restaurant, of which there is a sizable community in the Eau Claire area. The place is owner-run by a Hmong couple and everything is made to order which gives an understandable wait compared to other quick-order Asian restaurants. You can see the fresh vegetables in the kitchen which aren't cut until you place your order. The menu isn't too expansive, but all the dishes sound very good and I've always been happy. The item prices are reasonable and portions are large. Note: The address listed here isn't their current location. They've moved to a new building next to Festival Foods and Hom furniture in SE Eau Claire off of Hwy 93 and US 53, though I can't find the new address to post. read more

Had some take out today and was not very impressed. Their Noodle Wraps are EXCELLENT!! we had chicken and shrimp and the sweet dipping sauce is very good with them. However, the Fried Rice is very bland in comparison. Also, their version of "pad thai" is the FURTHEST from what Pad Thai is supposed to be. None of the ingredients used are in a traditional pad thai and ironically based on the ingredients in other dishes they could probably come up with a closer version or even a Pad Woo Sen (using glass noodles). I may revise this once we dine in and try the soups which are NOT available for take-out. read more

I wanted to love Noodle Wrap, I really did! I came here today with a hankerin' for some hmong noodle wraps. In my previous experience hmong egg rolls are made with a rice wrapper, (I'm a wheat-o-phobic gluten intolerant) but the noodle wraps here are made with a wonton shell instead. Since this is a personal issue related to my genetic misfortune, I'm not going to dock them points. But still, it resulted in a little sadness. Instead, I ordered the Garlic Ginger with Chicken which came to $10.95. For an asian restaurant in Eau Claire, WI.. that seemed a bit too much for what was an enjoyable but not impressive culinary experience. The ambiance is pretty stale and the place was freezing cold! When its 35 degrees outside, it's typically not a good thing to go into a restaurant and still feel like you are outdoors. The owners seemed very friendly but I don't think that's enough to bring me back again. Next time i'm in town and craving asian.. it's going to have to be Pad Thai on Barstow. read more

OMG, the Pad Hmong. Yes, yes, yes. This was our first visit but definitely not our last. Highly recommend the noodle wraps (egg roll wrapper filled with veggies, meat, and as a starter - you have your choice of veggie, chicken, or shrimp, and the dipping sauce they're served with is just the right combo of tangy, tart, and refreshing. The portions were generous & service was quick and friendly. Though we don't live in the area, we'll definitely be back next time we're in Eau Claire or passing through. read more

Service was slow: took about ten minutes for the waitress to take our order. Did greet us promptly, but then began hauling heaps of food to a table of four. We both got "Thai Iced Teas". Very tasty. My wife got crap rangoons, and I got a veggie spring roll. Hers was as it sounds; mine was pretty decent. For our dinners, my wife got the Pad Thai, and I got the Lo Mein. Hers was not good. It tasted like a fart. Mine was ok. The peanut sauce on mine was pretty peanut buttery, and seemed pretty amateur, like it came out of a bottle from the Gordy's on Birch St. We each ate about half of our meals, and brought the rest home. The next night, my wife ate my Lo Mein, while I took her dish, threw it in a strainer, and rinsed it off. I'm serious. Tossed some teriyaki on it and more or less (mostly less) enjoyed the reheats. This is my absolute favorite restaurant ever! I crave their pho beef daily, and their noodle wraps are the best I've ever had. You can't go wrong ordering anything on the menu. I've tried almost everything on the menu. Not a fan of the pad thai (it's too peanut-y for my taste) and the kao poon noodle chicken soup is a bit too spicy for me, but that is all personal taste. A lot of people complain about slow service, but I've never had an issue. It's a mom and pop restaurant so I really appreciate that the same person taking my order and serving me is also making my food. Hidden gem. We always get take-out, so we avoid the biggest drawback--the strip mall location. And it is a little pricey. BUT, the Hot and Spicy Chicken is my favorite local meal. And I have no idea about the "authenticity" of their Hmong offerings, but the food is unique and tasty, and the family who runs the place is dedicated and hardworking. Big time recommend. read more

We had lunch at Noodle Wrap and we left pretty disappointed. We started out with appetizers, which were egg rolls and the stuffed chicken wings. The egg rolls were good but the wrap was different from the kind of wrap usually used for Hmong egg rolls. The chicken wings were really good, so if you order that, you won't be disappointed. The pho dish was a really huge let down. It came seasoned with the sauces already, which is not standard when serving pho. The broth and meat were bland, and there were no ingredients provided to change the flavor to one's liking. The lo mein did not resemble lo mein at all. The sauce was strongly flavored with peanut butter. The noodles were not lo mein noodles, so the texture was off. Overall, the prices were pretty high considering the quality of the food. If I were ever to go back, I would only order the chicken wings. read more

It's pretty tasty, and they don't skimp out on the veggies and chicken (but then again it's $12). Sometimes, their stuffed chicken wings are bland. Wow. Yummy food. Friendly service. Chicken fried rice - lots of veggies and chicken. Sweet and Sour Chicken - not super sweet, just right. Large chunks of pineapple, plenty of sauce. General Tso Chicken - just a tiny bit spicy (less spicy that other places I have visited), plenty of sauce. None of the chicken was breaded, so you could see immediately the high quality of white meat. Everything was cooked to perfection. Crab Rangoon also very good, different colored sweet and sour sauce than I am accustomed to but very tasty. Decent prices. Pretty clear that everything is made to order (super hot and fresh). I thought it was alright. Owners were friendly, service wasn't half bad, and the restaurant was clean. You don't get too big of servings and they don't bring everybody's food out at once, just when it's ready. But the food was VERY good. The soda was warm too, but luckily there was ice in it. Wasn't very crowded. I'd say this is more of a lunch place than a dinner place. read more

Noodle Wrap is our go to restaurant for stir-fry and all fresh Asian food. We have gone here for years and the food is always great. Also,the owners are very nice. Recommend to all our friends. Just be prepared to wait a little while for your food as all is made fresh which takes a little longer but is worth the wait. read more

Hmong Noodle Wrap is one of my favorite places to eat in Eau Claire! The stuffed chicken wings are addictive. (get the sweet sauce) I usually get the chicken lo mein which has a wonderful peanut butter sauce, the garlic ginger chicken is another favorite of mine. I have never had a bad meal here. Anyone that knows Hmong or Asian cuisine knows this is not the place to eat. They all go to other places in Eau Claire. I laugh when I read some of these reviews that say it's an "authentic" Hmong restaurant. No it's not, I'm Hmong and it is not "authentic". It's "Americanized" just like most other Asian restaurants. The food is average to below average if you're going to compare it to the other Hmong and SE Asian restaurants in Eau Claire. If you want to know where all the "authentic" or best Hmong food is, go where the Hmong people go for food. I rarely if ever see any Hmong dining at Noodle Wrap. I experienced racism at this restaurant and never went back. Yes I'm Hmong and they are Hmong too. My GF at the time and I went there for dinner, there was a rush but we were clearly one of the first tables there. About 5 tables came after us but we were served last. The server/owner said "I hope you understand why we served you last." No, I do not understand. Is our money not worth as much? Is our business not worth as much? That was the last time I was there and though I was not a regular customer I did give them my business at least once a month. Now onto the food. I haven't had all the dishes but I've had many of them. The egg rolls are ok, they are very dry and the wraps are not typical Hmong style egg roll wraps. They are drier and flakier than the standard wrap which I personally don't like. The stir fry is generic and when you ask for anything spicy or order a spicy dish it's loaded with Sirachia sauce. It's not bad but it's also not something I want to pay for since I feel I can do this at home, most people with arms can do this at home. The pho is average, not bad but nothing to write home about. I would keep going to this place for the cleanliness and when I'm in the mood for pho but don't want to make it except for the racism. I don't know if this is just the M.O. of Asian restaurants but I've experienced this at another Asian restaurant in Eau Claire as well. read more
