    Ham & Cheese & Pickles

Great find just off the interstate! Stylish, clean building - bright & modern seating area - fresh food & drinks. They did have some Gluten Free options though the staff didn't seem super knowledgeable about gluten, I'm sure they would have helped us investigate if asked. They were very friendly :) I do wish there had been some more classic kid-centric options. That ham & cheese sandwich was fantastic, but it was a bit too "fancy" for our picky eaters who shy away from "green stuff" - They loved the bread though ;) The salads were so fresh and flavorful, and we got some tasty Oat Milk Lattes to go. We'll definitely be back! Grateful for any place that has fresh food, good coffee, and can feed us in a small timeframe while we're passing through town.

Menu offered very few options for a specific food allergy. Didn't meet our expectations based on previous reviews.

We don't drink coffee, but it's always highly rated in the Volume One's annual Best Of. They have continued the Coffee Grounds legacy and continue to excel. You can eat in their dining area, outside, or next door at Modicum brew pub. It has a great ambiance all around. Meet friends. Meet new friends. We highly recommend their restaurant.

My only complaint is that they put the sunny-side-up eggs underneath the biscuits and gravy. I didn't realize it at first, and once I cut into everything, the yolk started running all through the gravy. Some people might like that, but I'd rather have the eggs served on the side so everything stays separate. Other than that, the food was solid, the atmosphere was great, and I still cleaned the plate. I'd definitely come back--next time I'll just be more specific about how I want my eggs served.

If you like things saucy ask for another side of the sauce - the pita and falafel on its own was very dry.

This was while multiple other parties who arrived after us were served their food, ate, paid and left. It was quite obvious they forgot to submit the order or the kitchen lost the ticket. These things happen and I would never fault someone for an accident when they acknowledge and apologize. But they acted like nothing was wrong when I asked (after 35 minutes of waiting), and I was also quite surprised that they didn't offer any discount or food while we waited. The food was good, but definitely not worth the wait or the $65+ bill for 4 people just ordering breakfast and nothing else. Sadly may be our first and last time here, even though we had heard great things about it.

By the time we left there were a lot of people waiting for a table. The hostess and waitstaff were very friendly. Water glasses and coffee were kept full. The coffee was a little watery. I had the ham and cheddar omelette. I didn't want the hash browns so they substitute a salad instead. The salad was good. The omelette was very different. The eggs were extremely soft. It had sliced ham which was a little hard to cut through and the cheddar cheese was very sharp. The sourdough bread was good. My husband had the biscuits and gravy which he said wasn't very hot. My daughter in law said the hash browns were very good.

Very good spot to sit and get work done! Outlets at every booth/table area! A great local spot. I'd def visit again my next time in town. When I got to the counter the girl taking the order just stared at me blankly... which felt extremely awkward. So I spoke and stated what I wanted. To which her response was an empty, "ok" or "yep" as I went through my order. I sat down and waited on my order. Plenty of spaces to sit so that was a plus. My coffee order was a ln iced lavender latter with regular milk and an extra shot. It tasted bland like water, yet burnt at the same time. Did not enjoy. Also my drink was warm and the ice melted before I left the store. disappointed to say the least. Spicy hog sandwich was great. I will give them points where it is due. The sandwich was perfect and what I was hoping for. But again, the service from the girl that dropped it off at the table really needs to work on her energy because it was not pleasant to interact with even for the split second she came to drop off my food. I was thanked on the way out. I appreciated that! Note this was from the other girl behind the counter that was making the drinks and had some life to her.

For entrees we had the bacon burrito jalapeño and classic steak fajitas. The burrito had a nice kick to it and the Mexican sausage added a real depth of flavor. The steak for the fajitas was cooked perfectly (too many places lately overcook theirs and it's like gnawing on shoe leather) and the dish was flavorful, from the tantalizing meat & veg on the sizzling platter to the rice and beans. The staff checked in regularly to offer refills and see how we were liking our meals. We can't wait to stop in the next time we're in town!!

Complimentary chips and salsa almost beat us to the table. The salsa was great! A lot of cilantro which I love. (Fair warning to those that don't!) I was super excited to see they had great breakfast options available until 3pm. If I see huevos con chorizo on a menu, that's what I'm getting. It was fantastic here! Served with rice and beans which is certainly typical for most Mexican restaurants. The beans and rice at most places usually just seems to be plate filler. At Rancho Grande, I thought the beans and rice actually added to the dish. The rice was actually still fluffy and had good flavor instead of being dried out like some places. My husband had a chicken chimichanga that he really liked. We had to have margaritas too, of course. Lime on the rocks with salt and the perfect lime slice. We both thought the margs were great. What could be better than a margarita and huevos con chorizo for a quick lunch stop? How about the service and attention from the staff?! They did excellent. We had 4 different people tag teaming the service and all were super friendly and attentive. There was always at least one server either making the rounds or at least overseeing the dining area to observe and identify anyone that may have needed something. I wish we lived closer! This would be a regular spot for us, for sure! If we're back in the area, we'll stop in again. If you are in the area, do yourself a favor and check it out! Bonus info if any of this interests you: gambling machines with ATM payout, yard of margarita on tap, early open for breakfast.
