Ordered takeout and got an avocado toast. I did want some utensils and napkins but it did not come in my bag even though I did request that. They had napkins by the counter so I did grab some but still no plastic utensils. They had cute decor and it was semi busy. I will be back again to try other items on the menu. My meal was about $14 which was a little pricey but I was in a hurry so I had to eat something.

I love this place. Great menu, lots of tables, always busy. Great place for brunch or coffee.

We eat here every time we come to Eau Claire and I'm happy to support them. Everything I've ever eaten here has been fantastic and I actually can't believe that I haven't written a review already, so here it is. The French Press is located in a little strip mall The french press coffee was good and kind of a unique experience, which is somewhat expected given that it's their namesake. The meal that stands out the most in my mind is the Green Goddess. it's an amazing breakfast. Honestly though, I've not had anything bad here. They have an entire case of various pastries and there are always people here. The staff is super nice and it's always clean and cute. I'd highly recommend The French Press as a cute place to stop and grab a bite to eat!

Hubby and I went to The French Press for the first time on Saturday early morning. The restaurant was a welcoming, clean, cozy, warm, bright & spacious place. We were so excited to see their various baked goods and extended coffee menu! Food & drinks were ready within 10 mins. My raspberry scone & banana chocolate crumb cake were yummy and went very well with my creamy, flavorful hot dirty chai. The chocolate croissant was not like a typical croissant - didn't have layers in the pastry. But the restaurant filled it with lots of creamy chocolate inside. If you liked chocolate or had a sweet tooth, you would be very pleased! Hubby ordered the French Country Scrambler. The size was perfect. The sausage and scrambled egg tasted really good together. The potato were okay - could be more crispy with more seasoning. The other thing was that it was served warm, not as what we expected (a hot breakfast). The cold brew was on the light, berry and fruity side. If you are looking for bold, strong and heavy-body cold brew, this may not satisfy your expectations. The restaurant got busy after 8:15AM. I guess if you have concerns about social distancing during the pandemic, you should consider going early in the morning (before 8. They open at 7:30). Otherwise, just mask up and get ready to wait a bit for a pickup.

Wow!!! In the rotation , a must stop on the way out of MN!!! Lemon Ricotta pan cakes and artichoke quiche were great. Pick up cookies too for the road. We'll be back!

First customer at 6:30 this morning, he took the time to make a snowman on my latte in the middle of a snowstorm.

Wonderful place, big menu for breakfast & lunch, and lots of tantalizing pastries. I stopped here right at 6:30 on a TH morning when they opened after an overnight job before heading back to St Paul. We're in the middle of a snow storm and the barista made a fun snowman on my latte, says we gotta have some fun with all this snow. I had the lemon ricotta pancakes with fruit and a side of bacon. They we're good, tho the whipped cream on top was a fair bit heavy...ate it all up though.

The coffee was ok and food was so so service was really nice. Great atmosphere definitely want to try other things but meatloaf sandwich was not even close to as good as my mom's and can't remember what I had the second time I visited during my weekend visit so must have not been too bad but also just okay. The Atmosphere was extremely inviting family friendly but also very cozy coffee shop vibe. Worth checking out when in town and close to some other fun places such as The ceramic place down the road Cheers Pablo.

Made a quick stop at the French Press this afternoon for coffee and snacks. The service and food was outstanding. My kids loved their sweet treats, my coffee was strong and bold, just the way I like it. If you're passing through the area you need to stop by and try dine in this cafe.

Amazing breakfast. It is a small little place. Very cute and the food is amazing. The service was incredible, since it was my first time and they helped me decide on my breakfast. everything we had was over the top. All the food was amazing but the ricotta pancakes were bomb, and the sweet potato fries were also amazing.

Fresh selection of breakfast items. I recommend the Green goddess - eggs spinach and their in-house Apple sausage. I had a great cappuccino.

Do they have coffee for sale in either ground or whole bean? If so, is it made by them or do they carry a different brand?

TLDR: creative cocktail and good menu with a Wisconsin twist…read more I brought my group of 8 family and friends here and everyone loved what they ordered! The menu features a lot of local Wisconsin produce and Wisconsin favorites with a twist, like Baked Cheese Curds (the tomato jam is SO GOOD) and Portobello Poppers with a wild rice and cheddar filling (it was so tasty I couldn't believe it was vegetarian!). Everyone really liked the Chicken Fried Rabbit (obviously, not our veg friend lol). The buttermilk-brined rabbit leg was so juicy and tender. The red cabbage slaw on the side was a perfect pairing. The Candied Pork Belly just melted in my mouth, no joke! And I love that it was seasoned with hoisin sauce and came with some baba ghanoush, which you'd think wouldn't go together--but it so does. For my main, I had the Grilled Ribeye and my bf had the Roasted Lamb. Both were cooked to perfection (medium rare) and both were phenomenal! The chimichurri on the side had some sweet kick to it but the steak didn't even need it bc it was plenty flavorful and tasty. The lamb was so tender and the mint gelee was *chef's kiss*. The Great Lakes Walleye was served on a nice tomato confit brodo and my bf's parents absolutely loved how imaginative it was. We all thought it'd just come out with a side of potatoes or something but the presentation blew us away AND they said it was very lovely. The kids loved their How 'Bout Them Apples pizza, which wouldn't have been my first choice (apples on pizza?!) but it did look tasty! For drinks, I ordered the Seamus (which is basically an old fashioned with Irish whiskey) and my partner ordered the Watermelon Mojito. I couldn't believe he liked the Seamus bc he usually hates old fashioneds but tbf it was a very well balanced cocktail! His Watermelon Mojito was refreshing and yummy (but a little too sweet for me). My bf and our friend both loved it tho! We'll definitely be back again the next time we pass thru Eau Claire!!

I think we had approximately 20 people and a couple joined last minute. I know this is not ideal for servers, but it worked out well and again, we so appreciate it! The Informalist was super convenient since many of us were staying at the Lismore Hotel. Since this restaurant is located in the lobby, it was just super easy and the menu has something for everyone. We ordered from both the pizza and regular dinner menu and many of us shared a bit of everything! The truffle fries may have been the biggest hit of all, so don't miss out on those! Pizza is fabulous too. We saw elote fries, a burger, caesar salad, steak and so many other things at our table. My favorite pizza was the Yellow Jacket, which includes red sauce, mozzarella, cheddar cheese, pepperoni, and spicy honey. My least favorite item was the salmon crudo, but the salmon entree was not bad. Ambiance is hip and trendy and feels a bit fancy, but we were all dressed casually. Interesting due to the name of the restaurant, but it works! If back in the area, I'd absolutely return. Enjoy!

This was while multiple other parties who arrived after us were served their food, ate, paid and left. It was quite obvious they forgot to submit the order or the kitchen lost the ticket. These things happen and I would never fault someone for an accident when they acknowledge and apologize. But they acted like nothing was wrong when I asked (after 35 minutes of waiting), and I was also quite surprised that they didn't offer any discount or food while we waited. The food was good, but definitely not worth the wait or the $65+ bill for 4 people just ordering breakfast and nothing else.
