Sassy Chick with a side of Monster Energy Balls (love that was available as a meal side)
    Angela P.

Made a Google search for "cute cafe" for our route back to Milwaukee from Minneapolis. This should as a option and we loved the name! Worth the little 8-10miles outside of our route to come here. Very cute cafe and coffee shop! Ordered the Sassy Chick super delicious! With a side of energy balls they have a flavor of the day which was chocolate espresso, we chose an every day option the monster "cookie". Very rich and delicious! For drinks we ordered the iced mocha extra sweet and the caramel kiss as a blended drink! Very rich chocolate flavor in both drinks and nice and refreshing in this 110 degree heat wave!! Our order was made very quickly- they also have quite little local shopping options throughout the cafe.

    Original ladder.

Service was painfully slow. Zero coordination happening. Don't go u less you have the entire morning to waste.

Not your everyday coffee shop. Food is above and beyond. You will not regret stopping in for breakfast or lunch!

Yes, if it's a very busy day of week or holiday you will have a 20+ minute wait for your food to come out but I sort of like...

First time here. I was in Chippewa Falls to see some family and found this place right next to the…read moreChophouse where we had dinner the night before. It's a nice spot, with a large windowed storefront and inviting signage. Inside is a large open area with the order counter toward the rear. An old brick wall, metal lighting fixtures, and a tin ceiling give it a vintage vibe. There are café tables with metal chairs for small groups. The noise level is reasonable, and it's easy to have a conversation. They have an extensive coffee menu, including tea lattes. But the one thing that really stood out was the bakery selection. They have items called Cornetto, which look like croissants. I was told they're similar and used in similar ways (fillings, glazes, etc.). We ended up getting a coffee, a London Fog Tea Latte (little lavender, little vanilla, extra foam), a Custard Danish, and an Apple Almond Scone. It didn't take long to get our order, and everything was amazingly good. The London Fog was made with loose-leaf tea and steeped well. The pastries were fresh, large, and very yummy. Everything was also very reasonably priced (you spend way more than this in most places -- and that's not something I usually fixate on). Excellent experience. Friendly service, excellent food and drinks, great value, and a warm atmosphere. If I could make one suggestion, it would be the metal chairs -- I just didn't find them very comfortable. Definitely on the "come back to" list!

Luckily we beat the crowd and I was able to snag the last piece of quiche. Lots of groups gather here. I got a coffee that I think was local. There were 3 servers ours was younger and newer, Alyssa. I had to ask someone else for utensils before we got the food. We split some great hash browns. Basil got A farewell to sausages omelet and juice. We both enjoyed a local coffee. This was a great start to our trip out East to the Chicago burbs. I think it will be our stop from now on and should be yours as well.

Review Visit: November 14th, 2024…read more Maybe not THAT grand... The short trip to Eau Claire was coming to a close and I needed some food before I hit the road home. Around the corner from where Tim lives is a cafe he's been to a few times. We took the short stroll there to get some breakfast and coffee in us. We popped in after the major breakfast crowd and before the lunch crowd made the small cafe packed. We took a seat towards the front by the window so we could get some natural light to go with our meal. Our waitress was a hoot. She was professional but really chatty and we all quickly got on the topic of horror movies, spooky things, and the love for reading. I got the house coffee with a biscotti stick to go with it. Tim got a latte thing. The waitress forgot my biscotti but quickly brought it over when I asked her about it. As for our meal, I ordered just the french toast and Tim got a full course meal. I wanted to eat somewhat light as I had the long drive but... when I say I got french toast... it was the most basic two slices of french toast I've ever had. It ended up tasting decent but for $8.49, it just felt like it needed to some with a side of protein or eggs or something. Tim said his The Grand Gatsby and Bread Pudding was good, even if he doesn't care for Mango, which is what his Bread Pudding flavor was. The biscotti was really good, even better dipped in the coffee. The coffee itself was your typical drip coffee that you'd find across the country. Not great but not bad. It served it purpose. While it was a bit of a letdown that my last meal before heading home was less than stellar but the memories made at the cafe (and the whole trip) are one you can't put a rating on. With that in mind, if we visit here again in 2025, I will definitely get a more substantial meal than two meager slices of french toast.
