We were jaunting about Lindstrom today (as one does). With friends who recommend we try Northwoods. And wow. We loved the spot such unique and cozy decorations (we love a coffee shop that doesn't look cookie cuter). Stained glass was an adorable touch. We tried the banana, strawberry, and raspberry smoothies and gracious, they were delicious. (The raspberry came with a surprise drizzle). One remarked that it was the best smoothie they ever had (high praise indeed). The moose in the front is fantastic, we had some good laughs at that antlered boy. Also quick mention to the girl behind the counter, she did such an amazing job quick, pleasant, poised. The lids stayed on the cups, for that we are relieved, with the straw they left a bit of paper at the top (really appreciated that). We don't know what we were quite expecting when we showed up to this coffee log cabin, but we are beyond pleased, and excited to go back. Still thinking about the drinks. -The Tight Squad read more

Super cute coffee shop! Both my husband and I tried drinks off the holiday menu. I asked for recommendations to make my drink lighter in calories and the team jumped right in with options. I had the cookie butter latte and my husband had a buddy the elf mocha. So cute and festive! Plenty of seating available and the perfect place to stop if you're exploring Lindstrom. read more

@northwoods_roasterie was our next stop for some local coffee. Super cute spaces to sit and have a coffee. Today was a bit windy but their deck out back looked so perfect to enjoy a coffee outside. Today we grabbed iced lattes with pistachio and vanilla to fuel our walk around town. read more

Northwoods Roasterie is a charming log cabin-style coffee shop that offers a cozy, rustic atmosphere perfect for a coffee break. The place is clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully decorated with hunting-themed touches that really fit the Northwoods vibe. There's tons of seating with great views, making it a relaxing place to hang out or get some work done. They roast and grind their own coffee, which is always a plus. We tried their Sleepy Bear specialty drink, and it was fantastic--smooth and flavorful. Another special drink we tried was a bit weak, but still enjoyable overall. They have a nice selection of pastries and quick breakfast items, and if you're into black coffee, they offer a variety of unique flavors that coffee lovers will appreciate. Not all drinks were equally strong, but everything else--from the setting to the service--was spot on. Definitely worth a visit if you're in Lindstrom! read more

Unfortunately they messed up the drinks, if the menu says whip cream on a frufru drink I expect it to have it. The baristas were unfriendly and rather rude when I asked for my whip cream (which was their mistake). The coffee is ok, nothing spectacular or very sweet, but it's decent flavor if you want to support a small business and need caffeine. Note, the drive thru is very slow and they do have some off street parking available. Also, I'd like to comment that their idea of quality milk is kemps. read more

We "accidentally" happened upon Northwoods on a little road trip to Lindstrom to pick up something from Facebook marketplace, and what a happy accident! The shop is clean and beautiful, the staff were friendly and the coffee - spectacular! I had the raspberry truffle coffee and it was so full of flavor, really an excellent cup of coffee. We brought home a bag of their Northwoods blend coffee and I can't get enough. So good. We come to Lindstrom a couple times a year for a friend's get together and will definitely be back! read more

This is the third time in a row I've received DILUTED COFFEE from this place. This means the grounds-to-water ratio is way too low. They're serving people diluted coffee, and I'll bet most dumb Americans add so much cream and sugar they can't even tell. It's ridiculous how common it is to receive diluted coffee at these ritzy cutesy little Indy style roasteries/cafes. I think the punk emo 16yo girls behind the counter brewing it don't always do so with the utmost care and attention... I won't be going here again because paying over $4 for what is basically a cup of coffee-flavored water is a horrible feeling, I'm not taking the chance. read more

Great coffee, good customer service and a super cute spacious cabin-y coffee shop. Great spot to meet friends or get in a little remote work. read more

Ok this place has no business being as cute as it is... I'm honestly angry I didn't discover it sooner!! Three lovely & friendly ladies greeted me when I arrived and assisted me in choosing a coffee drink. There were many options to choose from and they offered almond or oat milk for dairy fre substitute. In the bakery case I saw a large sign indicating they'd have Gluten Free offerings. When I inquired what they'd be, they ran to the back to bring me a raspberry white chocolate scone and thank GOD! It was sooo delicious! Sweet enough but not too sweet, perfectly flaky and fluffy. The perfect beginning to my long day of little league. I will absolutely make this adorable spot a stop the next time we are in Chisago! read more

Staff is always friendly and the location is great for hitting g up the little shops nearby. Love the bagel sandwiches!

Really cute coffee shop with cute moose/Northwoods decor throughout! They have tons of tables, chairs and even seating upstairs and outside on their very nice deck. They do have some options for food - breakfast sandwich, soups, yogurt. I came for the coffee and their white mocha was delish! They also have chocolate covered coffee beans!! These are a life saver when you are feeling tired and need a boost of energy! read more

Love, love this family business. They roast their own coffee. There have home baked treats, gluten free scones, limited sandwiches. Sit inside or on the back covered deck. read more

Northwoods has easily become my favorite coffee place of all time. I am particular about my coffee, but Northwoods always does the job correctly. It's hard to pick a favorite beverage, but I am a sucker for the turtle mocha. If you have the opportunity, you should try to dine in. Although it's somewhat outdated, the interior of the Northwoods building is so cozy and cabin-like. In my opinion, it's been impossible (so far) for any café to top Northwoods. read more

The Dark Roast known as Black Forest is powerful just to let it be known. There is an option of a bottom less cup which they charge a little more and you can refill all you want. Taking advantage of the extra expense I had my cup refilled and I think a day later I'm still running, but getting a lot done. There is a limited menu and a select choice of pastries and roasted coffee bagged and ready to go. They roast their own so indeed it is fresh. I enjoyed a generous slice of Apple Pie which had a more crispy crust than others I've sampled. There are three rooms and an outdoor patio to sit and sip and talk the afternoon away. The back room is well windowed providing a great view of the lake on one side and a view of someone's back yard and driveway on the other, so I'm sure you'll want to opt for the lake view. read more

Cozy coffee house with lots of space to have a visit with a friend. Good coffee. Good food.

They are a great family owned business. The roast their beans on site. I am not big on breakfast sandwiches but I do love theirs.

This is a delightful and completely unpretentious coffee house, yet they've got all the bells and whistles that you wouldn't expect in a small town like Lindstrom including: * organic ingredients * fresh roasted coffee and espresso * soy milk * hemp milk (I haven't seen that anywhere else!) * cozy atmosphere I was pleased to see many customers drinking out of real mugs, instead of wasting paper cups like they do at so many other coffee places. Most importantly, my soy latte was delicious and totally hit the spot. I also bought some dark, strong, organic coffee to take back to my in-laws' home to replace the Folgers swill which I just couldn't swallow. read more

We stop here whenever we're headed north, it is such a good coffee shop! LOVE their lavender coffee drinks. It's also got such a cute atmosphere, very cabin like. Highly recommend stopping here! read more

I don't recommend. I've only ever been here once, I stood at the order spot for 5 minutes, the two employees working didn't greet me or ask what I wanted so I left. What a joke of a place read more

Always a great cup of coffee, friendly faces, great spot to sit and visit. Great with special orders due to sensitivities.

Great coffee with all smiles! Love it! First stop in the morning for that fresh cup of coffee cinnamon loaf.

Located right across from the teacup in downtown Lindstrom, make sure to stop by here if you're traveling on 8 towards Taylors Fall or Franconia Sculpture Park. This little hidden coffee stop could be mistaken for something else. I've past this multiple times and always thought it was a local camping supply shop. I guess the awesome log swing in front fooled me. I can tell from the outside appearances that there's ample seating all around. From the front of the entryway to the back. Chairs are lined in front for those who would love to enjoy their coffee with some fresh air or take it out back with more seating and tables where you can catch up with friends. I didn't have time to go in today but there's a drive thru!! Its definitely a plus for me. A little hidden but once you enter the parking lot from highway 8 go around through a little driveway to access the drive thru. Forgot to take a picture but it consist of your normal coffee menu: Americano, latte etc. All drinks come in 3 sizes, 12oz, 16oz & 20z. The Turtle Mocha I had was perfect, I love that it's not loaded in sugary syrups so you can really enjoy a cup of joe with a hint of the Turtle Mocha. I believe there are sandwiches as well but I'll updated this review again when I visit again. This time I'll go inside, because it looks cozy! Definitely loving the cabin vibes. Overall, service was fast, great and welcome. So glad to know there's a wonderful coffee shop here. No more trips to find a nearby Starbucks here. read more

I was so happy to have a coffee shop in town when I moved here. Sadly, I do not really care for their coffee beans. They do make up for that with how amazing their mango smoothies are. They always brighten up my day! read more

Northwoods has great coffee and good food. The baristas are friendly and must enjoy their jobs, because there doesn't seem to be a lot of turnover. They added on a new roasting room and expanded their seating, so it's easy to relax and enjoy a good, socially-distances cup of coffee. read more

Excellent coffe shop for a local or if your just visiting. My wife and I are up here visiting the folks and decided to take a moment just the two of us to chat and catch up on her birthday. The staff are very friendly, the coffe is great, and there are lots of places to sit inside or out. We heard a group talking about the local politics in town. There is wifi, food, and some great drinks. I recommend the Raspberry Truffle with and extra espresso shot or the sleepy bear breve. read more

I like this coffee shop. It's cute and delicious. The only downside is it's kinda pricey, and they are always out of cold brew.

Neat north-country-themed coffee shop, have come here for years. They started across the street where we would gather with friends for their Friday night Pie and Coffee special, then the owners bought the existing structure (old single-family house) and renovated it to include a spacious back deck overlooking North Lindstrom Lake and a drive-through. read more

Ordered the Turtle (espresso with caramel and chocolate) through the drive up. Really great tasting espresso - slight buttery flavour, not burnt at all - and it wasn't overpowered by the sweetness of the syrups. A little pricey but, for a small town local business, it can be expected and for the great taste it's worth it as a treat. read more

amazing staff, great coffee, best sandwiches and a beautiful location. This place makes my heart happy

Ahhhh-Mazing! Was passing through for work and stopped in for some caffeine. I had the lavender honey latte with soy milk and it was so freaking delicious. If I lived closer I would drink one every morning. The staff was wonderful. The drink was fabulous. The bathroom was clean and nice. If you're in the area, put this stop on your list. read more

I would give a 0 if I could. We sat in the drive through line for 10 minutes and never got service. Not even "we will be with you in a moment". The car in front of us also drove off without anything. I can't imagine providing such terrible service to customers. read more

Best coffee shop in the Chisago Lakes area. You won't find better coffee, prices or friendlier smiles in town. I've been a semi-regular. Grew up in Lindstrom but live in Duluth. Always make sure to stop by when I'm visiting the folks! Good place to relax or to get work done. They have a great selection of brewed coffee and other drinks. Their new location is spacious and comfortable, more seating and keeps the northwoods vibe. They've always been accommodating for groups of people gathering for Bible studies and other meetings. As of the time this review is being written, the patio is still being constructed in the back. It looks like it'll be just a little under the same size as the main seating area. read more

This was my first time out in Lindstrom a few months back and I must say, this place made us feel welcomed. I've been going here a few months as typically their coffee and service is good. But today my coffee tasted bad/weird so I went back up to the counter and asked if I could get a different blend. This horrible woman behind the counter acted as if I'd committed some kind of crime and with contempt spewing from her , she said "it's cause you're chewing gum." She was shockingly rude and highly unprofessional. I will not be returning here and will support my colleagues in NOT returning there as well. So much for Minnesota nice!! read more

John and his team have built a wonderful place to relax and enjoy freshly roasted coffee and goodies.
