We were jaunting about Lindstrom today (as one does). With friends who recommend we try Northwoods. And wow. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We loved the spot such unique and cozy decorations (we love a coffee shop that doesn't look cookie cuter). Stained glass was an adorable touch.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We tried the banana, strawberry, and raspberry smoothies and gracious, they were delicious. (The raspberry came with a surprise drizzle). One remarked that it was the best smoothie they ever had (high praise indeed). The moose in the front is fantastic, we had some good laughs at that antlered boy. Also quick mention to the girl behind the counter, she did such an amazing job quick, pleasant, poised. The lids stayed on the cups, for that we are relieved, with the straw they left a bit of paper at the top (really appreciated that). Unfortunately they messed up the drinks, if the menu says whip cream on a frufru drink I expect it to have it. The baristas were unfriendly and rather rude when I asked for my whip cream (which was their mistake). The coffee is ok, nothing spectacular or very sweet, but it's decent flavor if you want to support a small business and need caffeine. Note, the drive thru is very slow and they do have some off street parking available. Also, I'd like to comment that their idea of quality milk is kemps. read more

We "accidentally" happened upon Northwoods on a little road trip to Lindstrom to pick up something from Facebook marketplace, and what a happy accident! The shop is clean and beautiful, the staff were friendly and the coffee - spectacular! I had the raspberry truffle coffee and it was so full of flavor, really an excellent cup of coffee. We brought home a bag of their Northwoods blend coffee and I can't get enough. So good. We come to Lindstrom a couple times a year for a friend's get together and will definitely be back! read more

This is the third time in a row I've received DILUTED COFFEE from this place. This means the grounds-to-water ratio is way too low. They're serving people diluted coffee, and I'll bet most dumb Americans add so much cream and sugar they can't even tell. It's ridiculous how common it is to receive diluted coffee at these ritzy cutesy little Indy style roasteries/cafes. I think the punk emo 16yo girls behind the counter brewing it don't always do so with the utmost care and attention... I won't be going here again because paying over $4 for what is basically a cup of coffee-flavored water is a horrible feeling, I'm not taking the chance. read more

Ok this place has no business being as cute as it is... I'm honestly angry I didn't discover it sooner!! Three lovely & friendly ladies greeted me when I arrived and assisted me in choosing a coffee drink. There were many options to choose from and they offered almond or oat milk for dairy fre substitute. In the bakery case I saw a large sign indicating they'd have Gluten Free offerings. When I inquired what they'd be, they ran to the back to bring me a raspberry white chocolate scone and thank GOD! It was sooo delicious! Sweet enough but not too sweet, perfectly flaky and fluffy. Really cute coffee shop with cute moose/Northwoods decor throughout! They have tons of tables, chairs and even seating upstairs and outside on their very nice deck. Northwoods has easily become my favorite coffee place of all time. I am particular about my coffee, but Northwoods always does the job correctly. It's hard to pick a favorite beverage, but I am a sucker for the turtle mocha. If you have the opportunity, you should try to dine in. Although it's somewhat outdated, the interior of the Northwoods building is so cozy and cabin-like. In my opinion, it's been impossible (so far) for any café to top Northwoods. read more

The Dark Roast known as Black Forest is powerful just to let it be known. There is an option of a bottom less cup which they charge a little more and you can refill all you want. Taking advantage of the extra expense I had my cup refilled and I think a day later I'm still running, but getting a lot done. There is a limited menu and a select choice of pastries and roasted coffee bagged and ready to go. They roast their own so indeed it is fresh. I enjoyed a generous slice of Apple Pie which had a more crispy crust than others I've sampled. There are three rooms and an outdoor patio to sit and sip and talk the afternoon away. The back room is well windowed providing a great view of the lake on one side and a view of someone's back yard and driveway on the other, so I'm sure you'll want to opt for the lake view. read more

This is a delightful and completely unpretentious coffee house, yet they've got all the bells and whistles that you wouldn't expect in a small town like Lindstrom including: * organic ingredients * fresh roasted coffee and espresso * soy milk * hemp milk (I haven't seen that anywhere else!) * cozy atmosphere I was pleased to see many customers drinking out of real mugs, instead of wasting paper cups like they do at so many other coffee places. Most importantly, my soy latte was delicious and totally hit the spot. Located right across from the teacup in downtown Lindstrom, make sure to stop by here if you're traveling on 8 towards Taylors Fall or Franconia Sculpture Park. This little hidden coffee stop could be mistaken for something else. I've past this multiple times and always thought it was a local camping supply shop. I guess the awesome log swing in front fooled me. I can tell from the outside appearances that there's ample seating all around. From the front of the entryway to the back. Chairs are lined in front for those who would love to enjoy their coffee with some fresh air or take it out back with more seating and tables where you can catch up with friends. I didn't have time to go in today but there's a drive thru!! Its definitely a plus for me. A little hidden but once you enter the parking lot from highway 8 go around through a little driveway to access the drive thru. Forgot to take a picture but it consist of your normal coffee menu: Americano, latte etc. All drinks come in 3 sizes, 12oz, 16oz & 20z. The Turtle Mocha I had was perfect, I love that it's not loaded in sugary syrups so you can really enjoy a cup of joe with a hint of the Turtle Mocha. I believe there are sandwiches as well but I'll updated this review again when I visit again. This time I'll go inside, because it looks cozy! Definitely loving the cabin vibes. Overall, service was fast, great and welcome. So glad to know there's a wonderful coffee shop here. No more trips to find a nearby Starbucks here. read more

Excellent coffe shop for a local or if your just visiting. My wife and I are up here visiting the folks and decided to take a moment just the two of us to chat and catch up on her birthday. The staff are very friendly, the coffe is great, and there are lots of places to sit inside or out. We heard a group talking about the local politics in town. Always make sure to stop by when I'm visiting the folks! Good place to relax or to get work done. They have a great selection of brewed coffee and other drinks. Their new location is spacious and comfortable, more seating and keeps the northwoods vibe. They've always been accommodating for groups of people gathering for Bible studies and other meetings. I've been going here a few months as typically their coffee and service is good. But today my coffee tasted bad/weird so I went back up to the counter and asked if I could get a different blend. This horrible woman behind the counter acted as if I'd committed some kind of crime and with contempt spewing from her , she said "it's cause you're chewing gum."
