I love this place. It's not too busy, great seating options and cozy place. There's a fake fire area, music isn't too loud, staff if super nice, and feels like your at a cabin. Coffee is great.

We have enjoyed coffee here as we travel and stop when in the area. This trip we had lunch and the sandwiches are good. Love the overall vibe here. Can definitely due without the bravado of then"we don't call 911" seat.

The Mississippi mud frappe. I love the espresso powder on top! I do recommend if you have a sweet tooth.

My breve latte is perfect every time. This is usually not the case for me! I'm extremely picky about my coffee. They have great food as well. My weekly treat to myself I highly recommend this place.

Cutest lil place to meet a friend and enjoy a coffee & breakfast. Service is top notch. Also a rooted Christian place with scriptures written on the top of walls throughout the place.

Kids said the mixed berry smoothie was a 10 out of 10. The place was super cute, lots of seating, quick service, and delicious coffee.

Very overrated and expensive. Coffees are way too sweet and don't taste like coffee. Pastries are very plain and average

I came in on a Sunday morning and there was a little line of people ahead of me but it moved pretty quickly! Interior-wise, there isn't a ton of space for seating but luckily, there are plenty of tables/chairs at The Yard Container Park that's ~40 second walk from the bakery. I got the strawberry passionfruit cruffin, chocolate almond croissant, lavender vanilla shortbread, and a latte with sugar-free caramel. First off, I was very impressed with the variety of flavors that were displayed (i.e. passionfruit, rhubarb, cardamon, kimchi, etc.) All the baked goods I got were fantastic- especially the cruffin. I was initially hesitant to order it because I'm not a fan when the exterior doesn't have that flakey/crunchiness. But I'm glad I tried the one here because the texture was perfect. As for the filling, it was a good balance of sweet and tart. Same thing for the croissant. When I ate the cruffin, I already knew the croissant was about to hit- and it did. Perfectly flakey and had that beautiful crunchy exterior. They definitely didn't skimp on the chocolate/almond filling either! Personally, it was a little too much for me but that's just a me thing Last but not least, the lavender vanilla shortbread was wonderful. You can actually taste the lavender and they added a perfect amount of salt to bring the flavors out! Aside from the delightful pastries, the coffee was lovely and the staff were super friendly. Nostalgic Bean is definitely a Altoona gem!

The food is delicious and we look forward to making this our new stop off while traveling north. Also, when leaving the restaurant you can go over the bridge and get gas at Woodmans-cheap. My husband kept raving about his Asian chicken salad. I ordered a cup of lentil soup which was more of a bowl for me and it was flavorful. I had tabouli which was not what I was expecting. I was expecting more of a grain mixture with herbs but what I got was basically a bowl of chipped parsley sprinkled with a grain. But, it was tasty. I don't know if I would order again unless I was really cutting calories...lol. I took a dessert to go. It was a custard/coconut type and I loved it! They advertised hand pressed lemonade on their specials board but when I went to order I was told that they didn't have any. Also, on the menu when I ordered my tabouli, on the menu it stated it came with flat bread. I went back to the counter to inquire about the flatbread I was told no, it doesn't come with the tabouli. I pointed it out on the menu and she proceeded to cross it off telling me it shouldn't be there. These two little things that happened were a turn off but not enough to stop me from going back. But if there are more of these types of bad customer service happenings I will exit and not return.

My coffee order was a ln iced lavender latter with regular milk and an extra shot. It tasted bland like water, yet burnt at the same time. Did not enjoy. Also my drink was warm and the ice melted before I left the store. disappointed to say the least. Spicy hog sandwich was great. I will give them points where it is due. The sandwich was perfect and what I was hoping for. But again, the service from the girl that dropped it off at the table really needs to work on her energy because it was not pleasant to interact with even for the split second she came to drop off my food. I was thanked on the way out. I appreciated that! Note this was from the other girl behind the counter that was making the drinks and had some life to her.

Delicious drinks, done dirt cheap!…read more Situated in a hotel is Eau Claire Downtown Coffee. Or better known as ECDC. I saw this place when I first visited Eau Claire but never got the chance to go. I told my friends that when we hang out for vacation, my only one real request is hitting up ECDC at some point. Not because I love rock music but because I love the ingenuity of the name... and maybe because it reminds me of AC/DC every time I think about it. We popped in on our quiet day and were greeted with a really nice coffeehouse and some really nice baristas. I ordered my usual americano while Tim and Matt got drinks and a small baked good. We took a seat at one of the tables and just chatted and talked about our plans for the day. My americano was really good. I noticed americanos up around Eau Claire were more subtle and subdued versus back home, which by this point I was getting used to it. Tim and Matt both got a latte that sounded good to them and a baked good. Matt got a macaroon and Tim got a tiramisu cake square. I don't have much to say about this place that I haven't said a million times already. It was really nice inside. It had a very black theme to it. Maybe inspired by being somewhat named like this one hard rock band? There were some Star Wars meditating posters in one corner of the dining area. We didn't stay long before we slowly sauntered on to our next destination but I am 110% glad we stopped in and finally got to check it out. It was definitely worth the wait. Check it out sometime if you are in the area and need a break from the chain places (or try one of the other good places to get coffee in the area, which is what I suggest). Rock on and stay caffeinated.
