The food is delicious and we look forward to making this our new stop off while traveling north. Also, when leaving the restaurant you can go over the bridge and get gas at Woodmans-cheap. My husband kept raving about his Asian chicken salad. I ordered a cup of lentil soup which was more of a bowl for me and it was flavorful. I had tabouli which was not what I was expecting. I was expecting more of a grain mixture with herbs but what I got was basically a bowl of chipped parsley sprinkled with a grain. But, it was tasty. I don't know if I would order again unless I was really cutting calories...lol. I took a dessert to go. It was a custard/coconut type and I loved it! They advertised hand pressed lemonade on their specials board but when I went to order I was told that they didn't have any. Also, on the menu when I ordered my tabouli, on the menu it stated it came with flat bread. I went back to the counter to inquire about the flatbread I was told no, it doesn't come with the tabouli. I pointed it out on the menu and she proceeded to cross it off telling me it shouldn't be there. These two little things that happened were a turn off but not enough to stop me from going back. But if there are more of these types of bad customer service happenings I will exit and not return.

I walked in and was greeted with a warm smile and asked what I liked, which is always a good sign. I ordered a cafe mocha breve ( blended) which was creamy, smooth and just the right amount of coffee and chocolate the only complaint was that I could they only offered a 16ounce. The barista was nice, the coffee was good, the vibes were good, but we have to discuss the scone. I am not sure what the thinking was behind the scone recipe but it was not good! In fact, I would venture to say that if probably the worst scone I've ever attempted to eat. The texture was kind of like cornmeal and flour with chocolate chips in it. The caramel drizzle couldn't even save this thing. Cool coffee shop, super nice staff, cool name, bad scone. You guys can do better, I know you can.

To which her response was an empty, "ok" or "yep" as I went through my order. I sat down and waited on my order. Plenty of spaces to sit so that was a plus. My coffee order was a ln iced lavender latter with regular milk and an extra shot. It tasted bland like water, yet burnt at the same time. Did not enjoy. Also my drink was warm and the ice melted before I left the store. disappointed to say the least. Spicy hog sandwich was great. I will give them points where it is due. But again, the service from the girl that dropped it off at the table really needs to work on her energy because it was not pleasant to interact with even for the split second she came to drop off my food. I saw this place when I first visited Eau Claire but never got the chance to go. I told my friends that when we hang out for vacation, my only one real request is hitting up ECDC at some point. Not because I love rock music but because I love the ingenuity of the name... and maybe because it reminds me of AC/DC every time I think about it. We popped in on our quiet day and were greeted with a really nice coffeehouse and some really nice baristas. I ordered my usual americano while Tim and Matt got drinks and a small baked good. We took a seat at one of the tables and just chatted and talked about our plans for the day. My americano was really good. I noticed americanos up around Eau Claire were more subtle and subdued versus back home, which by this point I was getting used to it. Tim and Matt both got a latte that sounded good to them and a baked good. Matt got a macaroon and Tim got a tiramisu cake square. I don't have much to say about this place that I haven't said a million times already. It was really nice inside. It had a very black theme to it. Maybe inspired by being somewhat named like this one hard rock band? There were some Star Wars meditating posters in one corner of the dining area. We didn't stay long before we slowly sauntered on to our next destination but I am 110% glad we stopped in and finally got to check it out. It was definitely worth the wait. Check it out sometime if you are in the area and need a break from the chain places (or try one of the other good places to get coffee in the area, which is what I suggest). Rock on and stay caffeinated.

Will, Megan and their staff are happy to answer any questions you may have about their food, cheeses, kitchen ware (pots, pans, knives, and other items), wine, beer & hard liquor (& coffee & cigars). We don't drink coffee, but it's always highly rated in the Volume One's annual Best Of. They have continued the Coffee Grounds legacy and continue to excel.
