the interior of a coffee shop

Wanted a smoothie but not a lot of places were open. I went here and I loved it. I got a green smoothie and the other flavors looked good as well. Their food menu looked good but were only open from 6a-2p. It's inside a hotel and I was confused a little bit. They had plenty of seating and seemed quiet. The staff was friendly.

Had a very pleasant experience on Independence Day, 2023! As the only coffee shop that opened in town, it was very busy in the morning. And that only one barista at the back of the espresso machine really rocked! She kept her work station clean while producing high quality drinks. We got an iced matcha chai latte, a seasonal special apple cider latte, and a regular light roast brewed coffee. The barista even made a latte art in the middle of a million orders! Loved her attitude towards coffee! The apple cider latte was a successful latte - like a warm, slightly sweet hug. Milk and espresso got incorporated very well thus tasted smooth and rich thanks to the barista. The iced matcha chai latte and the brewed coffee were good but not like "wow". Don't get me wrong - it's very hard but important for a coffee shop to maintain consistent good quality during busy times. And ECDC did a good job. We will return next time when we visit Eau Claire!

The bec sandwich, avocado toast, iced coffee, and purple power smoothie

The bec sandwich is a great brunch option for those that aren't too adventurous, and the avocado toast is actually a good size. The coffee was great and my girlfriend thought the smoothie was good. The coffee shop is attached to a large common area so there is no problem finding seating. Definitely on the pricier side for what we ordered, but still a good place to try while in the area.

Eau Claire, Wi. They do have a nice rich latte here even if it is a bit on the small side compared to other establishments. Very nice espresso bean used, dark roast but no burnt taste. My quiche was just ok, way too eggy for my taste, and too light on complementary ingredients. Generous size but tasted like scrambled eggs. This is Wisconsin, give me the cheese! My wife egg dish was reported to be outstanding. Plenty of room to relax and get stuff done on the electronic device. The associated restaurant has granola and yogurt offerings, why not here?

Gluten free bacon sandwich and a latte. It actually came with two eggs but just opted for one. It's just a perfect size.

I stayed at Lismore for a couple of days and they have this coffee shop open. They have gluten free bread and muffins, frittata. More options than what I usually find for a coffee shop. I'll go here before Starbucks any day! Note: I'm biased because it's really hard to find gluten free options while traveling esp in Wisconsin.

Fanciest little latte I've ever gotten. This is the SPOT for caffeine in Eau Claire. They have some baked goods to fill your stomach. Lots of seasonal coffee options but the basics, too. Seems like a bit of a "hipster" joint but I enjoyed my coffee.

This is located in the Double Tree downtown and it has a great simple menu. The breakfast options are great as well! I was impressed by their smoothie menu. This is a must if you like good coffee, immune boosting smoothies, and a quaint area to get some work done.

Ate here for breakfast yesterday and today, so I'll combine the two reviews. The place seems very nice, and while I didn't get the coffee, it looks like a lot of people enjoy it, as it's usually somewhat busy. I did get the Northwoods Wrap on the first day. All in all, it was decent but could have used more sauce or some hot sauce to really help it out, as it was a little dry. The second day, I got the fried egg sandwich and that really helped improve my opinion of the place. It is a little pricey BUT the mixture of spinach, bacon, and fried egg, with some kind of sauce or pesto or something was delicious, and it looks like the bun was toasted or fried. If you're willing to spend around $9 for an egg sandwich, that's what got it an extra star.

This is a great downtown coffee shop. There is plenty of free street parking all across the block. It is attached to a hotel, so there is plenty of seating right in the coffee shop, or in the hotel lobby. It is a great working space, with large desks and strong Wi-Fi.

I'm already nostalgic for this place…read more A new day means a new morning to visit a coffeehouse. Tim actually suggested this place as he mentioned its something he's wanted to try for awhile. We hopped in the car and headed out. I wasn't sure what to expect from The Nostalgic Bean since I was going into this trip without much of a plan besides a few odds and ends. But what a surprise this place is. It's in a cute little building with some sweet snail art on the side. Inside is quaint and cozy. The staff was super friendly while we did some do-si-do with other patrons of the bakery. Inside is small and due to the layout, it can get a bit crowded if they are busy at all. Normally this is a hassle but something about this place makes it fun. I got my usual americano and a corn jalapeno quiche. With how busy it was, the food and coffee didn't take much time to come out and the staff, again, was super friendly and helpful. I wanted a specific t-shirt and while they didn't have it on their merch shelf, the young lady took the time to locate one in their back stock area. Keep your eye peeled for me wearing it in future reviews :). The americano was pretty good, just a bit below the bitter level I like but it made drinking it a breeze. The quiche was really good, too. I don't think I've ever had one before this and I ended up getting it the next day when we came back with Matt. The second time we came back, we had the same level of friendliness and same awesome deliciousness. All their baked goods looked amazing and both Tim and Matt were in love with the place, too. Tim dabbled in their baked goods but I don't remember all that he got. Matt got a coffee and a small thing to eat as well. The Nostalgic Bean has become a staple for us when we visit Eau Claire. I feel like we will hit it up every time we visit Tim because we all just fell in love with the place. Just look at their baked goods online and you'll understand just how sweet this place is.

A cozy end to a fantastic vacation…read more Tim described Racy D'lenes as what coffeehouses were like before they exploded everywhere. What he would consider to be a true coffeehouse. This got me excited as I do like a genuine cozy coffeehouse that does it's own thing and Racy was just that. We rolled in around 9am to get coffee and enjoy the quietness before Matt and I drove home. The sky was overcast with the constant threat of rain. The inside of Racy was nice and cozy. I got my americano, a giant chocolate chip cookie and a funny sticker for my final Eau Claire experience. Tim and Matt both got the Cadbury Egg latte. The place was a bit busy so we ended up sitting on this couch. We weren't crammed in there but 3 grown males put it to the test. I kid you not, this americano and cookie may have been the best thing I had during this whole trip. I know I'm easily excitable and tend to give high praise for most things but those two things were legit delicious. The cookie was so good that it made me wish I got a hot coffee just to dunk it in as that sounded divine. Both Matt and Tim said their latte were amazing and tasted just like a Cadbury egg. As we sat there and made small talk and went over the fun of the last few days, I couldn't help but look around and notice all the little things strewn about the place. There was a tank with a live turtle in it. There was a skeleton handing from the skeleton talking to someone (I couldn't see where the line went) via a can and string. The walls were painted or had stuff hanging up. This place must've been here for a long time now. Speaking of the cozy feeling, if this place had a fireplace, I would've fallen asleep so easily. I was already nodding off due to the weather and being perfectly content and settled in, it wouldn't have taken much more to slip off into a light snooze. Now that would've been a first for me, falling asleep in a coffeehouse... but if you've been here on a rainy day, you would understand. Eventually we made our way outside and were doing the midwestern goodbye when it started to sprinkle. That put a little pep in our step to get back to our cars and say goodbye to Eau Claire. Two things to keep in mind for visiting here is that its on the backside of The Nucleus and that since it's on the backside of a building, parking is very limited and you may need to park on the street if it's busy. Racy D'lenes... I will definitely be back.

They have tables available and also couches/chairs for a more comfortable experience! There are some parking spots available in the back or street parking is an option. Edited review based on business response: Based off of the Visit Eau Claire website for dog friendly places, I previously understood that Racy's was dog friendly. It indicated, "Racy D'lene's Coffee Lounge - You and the pup can enjoy a laid-back morning or afternoon at Racy's together. Their coffee and sandwiches and pastries will be a real treat for both you and your trusty four-legged sidekick." It appears that is not accurate and dogs are not allowed inside the building.
