Been going there for a long time and usually things are very good. Tonight however, I ordered a Philly and got it home and half the sandwich had nothing on it. I called and the guy who answered the phone proceeded to call me a liar and told me he cooked it himself so he knows it was not like that. I told him it was and asked him if he wanted me to send him a picture. He continued to argue with me so I told him he has now lost a customer and hung up. I wish I would have thought about this before because I would have taken a picture and posted it here. Really too bad because I pretty much overall like this place and their Philly sandwiches are usually pretty good. It still was, I just had to mix it together and respread it on the bun. It's mother day, people order online to get their food at set time. When the app says the order is ready I head right in. When I got there they say they are backed up. My wife and I went to Mom's Kitchen for a late breakfast today. We were there close to 11:00 and waited in line to be seated for around 15 minutes. This was expected since it was a busy Sunday morning. When our hostess seated us she took our drink orders and brought them right out. Our waitress, Jade, was also quick to take our orders. So far so good. After we ordered she told us the kitchen was backed up and could take longer than normal for our food to come out. In hindsight I think this was code for your meal might be subpar. And it was. I ordered eggs Benedict with ham and hash browns. My wife had bacon, sunny side up eggs and hash browns. Her bacon looked good. Eggs had nice runny yokes. The hash browns were begging for another 5+ minutes in the pan. Nothing brown about them. My eggs Benedict had a broken hollandaise sauce. It was curdled with pools of butter. Didn't look good at all. I'm surprised it made it all the way to the table looking the way it did. Eggs Benedict should have poached eggs or at a minimum at least have eggs with runny yokes. One yoke was broken and hard fried! I've had a lot of eggs Benedict in my day but never had one come to me in this condition. There was also nothing brown about my hash browns either. I ate a small portion but the broken hollandaise ruined it. Our once prompt waitress never came back at all after she brought our food. She was in ninja mode dropping the check off. While dropping something at the neighboring table she reached over and slid the check on our table. She did this without looking at us or even saying anything and "poof" she was gone before I could even get her attention. At this point I didn't want anything refired or any discount. We've been there an hour already. It seemed clear she wasn't interested how things were or if we wanted something else. The checkout gal completed our transaction without saying a word. That was a first. At this point I didn't want to bring up our poor experience so I didn't mention anything to her. She did tell us to have a nice day as we were walking away though. This struck me as funny how she didn't say anything until we were a couple steps away. Would I recommend Mom's Kitchen to friends? Probably not. Will I return? Not of my own free will. My parents like Mom's so we'll probably end up here again with them. Not looking forward to it though. Our visit was a disappointment but to be fair they must be doing something right. Mom's has been in town for several years. Restaurants in Eau Claire have a lot of competition but they are still going. read more

Customer service ~ The customer service was amazing! Right when my family and I walked in there was a warm welcome. Our waitress was very friendly along with the man who brought us our coffee. Food~ The chicken dumpling soup was amazing honestly. I got a side of fruit with my meal. One thing I would improve would be buying organic fruit. It would add a nice touch to the restaurant. Price~ I thought it was a little pricey for the ham and cheese sandwich a member of my family had ordered. It looked good though. Visual appeal is huge when ordering food. Positives~ When I went it was not very crowded and we got our food relatively quickly. They are also consistent on making sure that you have enough coffee and checking up on you. They are getting two stars from me because our sever was nice, other wise I was disappointed. We ordered cheese curds as an appetizer, and no only were they tiny, they were bland and didn't come with any type of dipping sauce. I ordered biscuits and gravy and hated it. The actual biscuit was a weird texture and the gravy tasted more like flour. So once again, too bland. My husband ordered a philly cheese steak and he said it was ok, but he'd go somewhere else for the same price next time. Overall we were disappointed and won't be going back. read more

We stop every Sunday for breakfast. We often have to wait for a table, but the turnover is pretty fast. Service is always very fast. The only suggestion I would have is to try to greet people when you are on a waiting list. People get confused about what to do when you are taking names and the doorway is full. read more

I ordered Lasagna for lunch which came with a salad and what I think was an attempt at garlic toast. I had it delivered by EatStreet. The lasagna was nice and cheesy but tasted a little bland. The salad was actually pretty respectable, it came with diced carrots and tomatoes with shredded cheese and ranch and french dressings. The garlic toast seemed like regular toast, it needed more garlic. I'm really splitting hairs though. Extremely disappointed. Haven't eaten here in a long time and wanted some home cooked food tonight. 1/2 of the charbroiled chopped steak dinner was missing. Only received the steak and salad. No potato, vegetable, or bun. Sauce missing for the wing dinner. Chicken dumpling soup had no flavor. We ordered through Eat Street and the mess up wasn't their fault. Moms Kitchen used to be my favorite little gem to eat breakfast at. We'd go religiously. It was getting so busy for a while in the mornings that we quit going. Recently this past couple months I started doing pickup/takeout. The last 3 times I've picked up my food it tasted like DIRTY GRILL each time. Soggy toast. Mushy hash browns. I could go on, but moral of the story I was very unimpressed. Last night we thought maybe it was just breakfast they're struggling with, so we ordered chicken dumpling soup, cottage cheese, fries & chicken tenders in the evening. My cottage cheese was beyond warm, soup wasn't anything to rave about like it used to be. Fries were soggy enough to make me think they'd been microwaved. That was their last chance for us. Been a customer for a very long time. Recently the business was sold. As a result there is all new staff. No complaints about the staff they work hard. Menu is the same as before. What was lost is the old staff knew me and my friends and they knew what we liked and wanted when we came in. We didn't even need menu's. Went there for breakfast with my wife food was horrible, she ordered a cheese omelette hardly any cheese and omelette was not homemade it was a frozen and warmed up no taste and the hashbrowns were Luke warm and rubbery like they were sitting on the grill for awhile, mine was OK I had bacon and eggs not to hard to screw up. read more

Stopped into Moms for breakfast. Despite some of the reviews, I went in with an alert focus to see if I could find some of the 'flaws' that others seemed to complain about. Let me break it down: Entrance: clearly marked and clean entranceway. It's a seat yourself place so we did. Hostess: very pleasant and attentive! Breakfast: we both ordered omelets and their homemade bread (toast). I ordered the Mediterranean omelet but asked for no tomatoes and added sausage and bacon, dry wheat toast and a side of corned beef hash. A lot to my order and very specific. My order was delivered to the letter. The homemade bread was great, the omelet was stuffed with the ingredients and the corned beef hash was cooked perfectly and there was a lot of it. Usually when ordering a side of corned beef hash the restaurant would provide a small dob of hash and charge you a lot. This place was the opposite: a lot of hash and the price was very reasonable. The coffee was good and our waitress made sure our mugs remained full with fresh coffee. The cost is worth it for sure. Absolutely a great deal for a great meal. Lastly, I have read comments about the food and about the cleanliness of the restaurant not being the best but what I witnessed (being a server in a restaurant myself many years ago) was a very clean restaurant. The floors were clean, no dust on the angles, no built up gunk where the floor meets that baseboard/wall, no unpleasant aromas, nothing. The dishes were clean, silverware same and the only thing that I could say that is not 'stellar' is just that some of the seat coverings were torn and worn. That being said that just tells me that many happy butts have visited Moms and enjoyed a great meal! For those who posted a negative review I implore you to revisit and try another meal. If it changes your mind then update your critique. If you just want to complain about everything you do, then I feel bad for you because you will never be happy. I love this place. Real home cooking, incredibly friendly staff, and good prices. I'm hooked on their hot roast beef sandwich with mashed potatoes. Great place for breakfast but if you get a cinnamon roll be prepared to share it with somebody, they're enormous. Well taking my wife to this place that I used to frequent was embarrassing to say the least. We looked over our greasey dirty menus and made our selections as I notices 3 white cloudy things floating in my water glass. We had flies buzzing all over us as we ate a really greasy breakfast. The lady that waited on us seemed ok so we tipper her well but, we didn't feel well later in the day. This place has taken a turn for the worse. Eat here every week with my mom. We both love it. The service is awesome. The coffee is the best. We usually have breakfast, but occasionally eat lunch/dinner. The food is the best! Someone complained about "bland" taste, but since the clientele is mostly older, I don't want my food overly spicy. I'd like to see a bit more selection on the menu, but other than that, it's a great place to eat! read more
