We also ordered the Beef Noodle Soup with knife cut noodles and the Beef Noodle Stir Fry with triangle noodles. Both super tasty, just the right amount of salt. We prefered the chewy texture of the triangle cut noodles, especially for the stir fry. We ordered the Juicy Pork Dumplings and potato wrapped shrimp which were good but we wouldn't order again. I would give this place 0 stars if I could! We arrived around 11am and there was 1 table seated with 2 people. We ordered inside and sat outside since they had patio seating available. When we ordered, the table that was seated came inside to inquire about their order. They wanted to make sure that their order was placed. I thought that was odd. So we ordered and sat and 45 minutes later... still no food. We asked the waitress and she said it was coming out. It would have been nice if she would have came out to let us know if something was wrong or their kitchen was backed up (which from the looks of it, wasn't.) Noodles are actually really good! I was surprised at how nice and chewy the triangle noodles are and the beef is nice and soft. The spicy beef noodle soup is really not that spicy (I have medium-to-high spice tolerance). But above all, the SERVICE is really great! Brought my 1.5 yr old son with me, and of course, he made a mess, but they were accommodating, even noticed I needed scissors and brought me some to cut the noodles for my kid, and was sweet to tell me I didn't have to pick up the noodle-y mess my son was making over the floors. I love this modern take on traditional Taiwanese food. The ambience is nice, servers always friendly. The noodles are certainly the star here. There is a huge glass window where you can see the chefs at work, often pulling the noodles or showing off other talented kitchen skills. The knife cut is so good, and so are the triangle and thin noodles. Depending on what dish you order, choose the appropriate noodle. The xiaolongbao are decent and juicy, cucumber salad is bomb, and kids love the scallion pancake. Only thing is...they took zhajiangmien off the menu...bring it back!!! read more

I went with a party of 8 and they said we had to wait to sit inside which we were completely okay with, then after waiting 20 mins another waiter asks us if we can still wait so we said okay. But, we waited for another 10 minutes and decided that it was okay to sit outside. So, we went in to let the server know. But while, I'm telling him, a waitress who was completely removed from this conversation (and did not help us before) jumps in to ask us if we were gonna sit inside or outside in an annoyed tone. Already offset by this interaction, I told her that we would be sitting outside. Noodle Saint is my pick for noodles when I get to choose (since my wife will pick pho and our daughter will pick ramen). The first time we went there it was a grand revelation -- a variation on our familiar ramen, noodles just chewy and thick enough, the first time for scallion pancakes in a while, not far from home -- but the second time, after all the excitement, and with take-out, it just seemed like another noodle place -- good but not extraordinary. Our daughter also wasn't so impressed that she preferred it over ramen. I've always been a big fan of Noodle St, but I've come to appreciate them even more in the midst of this pandemic. They have managed to figure out a way to pack up noodle soup seamlessly in thick paper containers (instead of plastic, huzzah!) that almost make you feel like you're eating at the restaurant, which is literally the sense of normalcy and familiarity most of us desperately need right now. I especially love getting their spicy beef noodle soup and lamb noodle soup. The broth always comes piping hot and packed separately, so all you have to do is simply pour it into their giant bowl full of noodles, veggies, meat...and it's ready to go! Besides their noodle soups, I love their green onion pancake, fried calamari, and stir-fried noodles. As I mentioned previously, their green onion pancake is easily one of the best ones I've ever had. All of their food is delicious and the quality is on point! You really can't go wrong with anything, considering they hand toss all of their noodles and each one has such a unique texture! They've also done an admirable job of keeping everyone safe during this time, as they only allow one customer in at a time, have sanitized pens separated from used pens, and their noodle making operation looks really clean. My first and only time here. Let me tell you I will be back. This is simple food done good. I ordered the Beef Ramen with Triangle noodles. The broth was simple and not too salty. Almost bland but the additional ingredients stood out. The meat (five thin pieces of beef were meaty beefy almost iron like tasty. The green onion and cilantro made the dish. It had two slices of tomato but since I hate them, they were not eaten by me. The surprise dish was the Cucumber Salad. It was excellent in a far different way than expected. Nestled in this strip mall with nary the parking space, you find this little noodle shop. It was a Satruday mid day and it was pretty busy. CSUF is nearby so I gather they do brisk business with the college folks. I love the glass window that lets you watch the noodle maker practice his craft. It's amazing to watch how he makes noodles by hand and slices slivers of dough into the pot of boiling water from a couple feet away. The noodles are really good as are the side dishes that you can get. I got the Japanese miso ramen whilst my wife got the more traditional Chinese Spicy beef noodle soup. It's part of our culture and no matter what way we cook it whether it's in a stew or skewer, seasoning is key definitely. But when you have good quality Lamb you don't need that much seasoning and the last thing you wanna do is charbroil your meat before you throw your season on it!! That's what it felt like I was eating, the lamb seasoning was falling off each time I tried to have a bite. I looked down, and my plate was full of crumbs of season. It didn't feel right! Most importantly, it did not taste right They put too much Mediterranean Indian seasoning and it was so strong. It did not make sense!! But their noodle soup never ever disappoints me. I ordered the spicy beef noodle soup ($10-) which is not bad for the price. And it comes with beef shank and spinach and knife cut noodles. So good and the price is very affordable and can at least feed two people. And the fact that all the noodles are handmade makes this place 10 times better. And I give you different options on how you would like your noodles to be cut. I like my noodles knife cut and al dente and they come out so perfect every time. Got two noodle dishes, the dan dan noodles and the spicy beef. Both were delicious! The broth for the spicy beef had so much flavor too it. The dan dan with spicy pork was also delicious. They put the chili on the side which i think is very smart because you can control your own level. Got two rices, the kimchi fried rice and char siu pork fried rice, both were very good. Tried one of their kind of dumplings, the juicy pork bun (commonly known as soup dumplings/ XLB / xiaolongbao) and boy were they juicy and full of pork! Last thing was the scallion pancakes and no surprise, it was delicious as well. The food was ready by the estimated wait time from our phone order. Restaurant was very clean and well kept. Beef was relatively tender. Spicy beef pancake: Also not spicy. This kind of fell apart when I picked it up. I'm usually not great at picking up rolls, but I think this wasn't rolled too tightly. I expected more layers of outer skin rolls. The beef was thin and well-layered, but it could have used more spices. This has cilantro in it, which I love, but I know there are people who don't like this. I don't remember if they put that in their menu. Juicy beef buns: Not really juicy, but well-tasting. There wasn't a lot of juices that I would expect from this, but it was decently flavorful. It wasn't greasy, so that was good, and they gave us a good portion of buns. It's really umami and probably cooked with pork fat, which is why it tasted so good. My chicken noodle bowl was fantastic too. Pros: - One of maybe 2 decent noodle places in Fullerton. - Good Noodles; all made inhouse. - Good parking - Next to a Seven Leaves and Starbucks. So buy your drinks from there instead. Cons: - Overpriced for the quality. The market rate for a bowl of noodles right now is around $13-$20 post-tax. Noodle St's prices float around the middle of that spectrum at around $16 a bowl. - Broth is sad. Try Dun Huang in Rowland Heights, Cô Giáo Thảo Quán in Garden Grove, or Kitakata Bannai in Buena Park if you want good broth. This place is just lacking. - Appetizers are extortionately priced. Usually they'd go for around $5 (reasonably right?) here they go anywhere between $8-10 per app. - Ironically, the meat in the soups are dry. Overall: I get it. It's Fullerton, if you're paying below $20 in this town you're not going to find anything worth eating. Fullerton is just not a great place for eating out. If you go to one of the Colleges in the city or if you just got off of work and you don't feel like driving 10-20 min, Noodle St. is ok if you're really craving noodles. But if you can make the drive, there is just significantly better food in all the cities around Fullerton. Go to Rowland Heights for Chinese food, Garden Grove for Viet food, and Buena Park for Korean food. Please don't come here. It's underwhelmingly average. 5/10 read more
