Says it's tavern style pizza (which means Chicago thin crust) and even cuts into squares like tavern style. Also had giardiniera which I was excited about. Mind you, I'm from Chicago, so I was happy to see this pizza place. However, after eating it I will tell you there's nothing Chicago about it especially the giardiniera. It just tasted like vinegar vegetables with a slight kick to them. Sausage was horrible too. Not sure why they're referring to this as tavern style because it's not, but I guess it may be Houston's take on tavern style. The Texas pizza scene in general is horrible. read more

80's vibe music and decor- great service snd great food - we had caesar salad , potatoes, meat pizza and cheese cake to share. The pizza was my favorite if the evening. Highly recommend you checking this out. read more

The waiter was not great. He was very non-chalant didn't know anything. Told us pizza was sold out after we ordered already but said we could still order by the slice later came back and says those were sold out too. I was disappointed that a pizza place was sold out of pizza by 10 and they closed at midnight. The wings were good the mozzarella sticks were not! Ambiance was nice but energy was weird. read more

Starting with food I ordered the Italian sub, the potatoes and cheesecake. Italian sub was really good I ate about half of it and started to wish there was less acid. I usually have a pretty good tolerance for that and I really like the ingredients and taste so I'll say maybe it was just this time and definitely get another one. The potatoes are the reason I will always go to this place. Sprinkled with garlic and cheese and herbs enough butter for every potato. The sauce was the perfect compliment to any amount of the topping I managed to fit onto one of them. The crunchy pillowiness of each differently shaped large diced potato was addicting and I want to eat these all the time. I ordered the cheesecake and I guess I got the seasonal one because it came with a candy cane icing. I don't really like peppermint with my cheesecake but somehow I still ate the whole thing. The textures of the food at this place are amazing I think that the longer it's open the better it will get as they flesh more things out. I ordered a focaccia and couldn't have one because they were out a couple hours before they closed so either they need a Togo menu or tighten some things up. All and all the aesthetic of this place was very modern and the design was really nice to look at with the ambiance of an old arcade off to one side of the place. Can't wait to go back and eat it for their pizza! read more

I admit, I do like the pizza. The fries are also great! The staff has always been friendly. However, this place is too busy to effciently service to go orders. If you want something special added to your pizza, you can not order on line, they have no phone and no parking for to go pick up. In addition, there is no Huber eats, grub hub or any other way to get it delivered. They have no phone, so the only thing you can do is walk in. Satudrday at 5:30, they were already too busy for parking, which is valet. The crowds make waiting for your to-go uncomfortable. I felt as if I was in the way. I guess they really don't need to add anymore business, they are doing fine without it. That being said, be forwarned. Not sure if the pizza being good is worth the hassle:( read more

Ordered the mushroom pizza $24 for 14" pie - photo uploaded - crust quite crunchy, not much flavor besides lots of onions, burned crust. Service good, pizza mediocre. read more

Nonno's - mushroom pizza note crust - no juiciness- quite dry zero flavor - Pizza Near Me - Houston, Texas

My husband and I (empty nesters now) came here because a friend recommendation about the delicious Tavern style pizza. We sat at the bar, great/social fun atmosphere. We told the bartenders this was our first time here and they were so friendly and shared their recommend actions with us. The frozen porn star "Tini" is more yummy than your favorite margarita! Check it out, we highly recommend! read more

Great spot. Would possibly do 4 stars bc service was a little slower than I'd anticipated. Food was great, we had a friend meeting and wasn't in a rush so slower service wasn't a big deal. Environment is very nostalgic and welcoming. The early 2000s hip hop was fun to hear haha. read more

Shit was banging. Grandmas ribeye was one of the best things I've ever had. That garlic sauce with the potatoes are dumb and the wise guy was like a Nola muffuletta on another level read more

Best pizza in Houston, hands down -cracker thin crust - pepperoni tasted fresh and delicious -I'm already looking forward to the next time we can order 10/10 read more

We visited Nonno's based on recent brave reviews. The food and service were excellent but the music was uncomfortably loud. We asked 3 times for it to be turned down but it didn't happen. It is impossible to have a good meal with music this loud read more

Fun atmosphere, although music is a bit too loud. Get the mozzarella sticks. You can thank me later.

Nonno's pizza reminded me of home. Columbus pizza is typically square cut and thin, this took me back to what I've been missing. I'm so glad I found Nonno's, just wish it wasn't so far for me. The service was hospitable and they stay busy, which is a good sign. read more

i paid for a $20 pasta and it was literally so small. it tasted alright, but the serving portions are so small and it's not like amazing pasta, but gets the job done. the pizza was like ~$20 as well, and that was alright. nothing special tho. inflation be crazy. read more

I went the second weekend this place was open and I can't wait to go back. Our waitress gave great service and the food was delicious. We got a pizza, some wings, and an off menu pesto pasta they were testing out. Everything was excellent and the pesto pasta NEEDS to be put on the menu as a permanent staple. The sauce was perfect and the pasta was freshly made. You should definitely try this place! read more

I was soooo excited to try this place but unfortunately pretty aesthetic places usually come with a price with poor quality food. The pizza tasted like it was a frozen pizza just heated up, very salty and okay. The ambiance I have to give it, it was done really nicely and I love the 70s vibe to it but other than that it was okay. You are not missing out on anything plus the service was okay, a bit slow but you can skip on this restaurant. read more

My God was the food amazing here! They are always packed so you'll have to get there early. The service and the food were great! The ambiance was nice. They have arcade games to play while you wait and a full bar. I will definitely be back! read more

Great pizza, great cheese sticks, and great cookie and cheesecake for dessert. Great date night or chill spot.

Went here for a date night with my husband and had a strangely awful time. - hostess said 30 min wait so we went to sit at the bar where the hostess said we could get drinks and apps - bartender immediately tells me we can only get drinks, no food. When I tell her what the hostess said, she says "well maybe you can get mozzarella sticks or a salad but that's it" which was not only confusing but rude? - my husband and I consider leaving and she comes back to ask if we know what we want to drink. She also says that they only have one oven working so all pizzas will take 40 mins to make. - we get up to leave but right as we do, a hostess comes to get us and seat us, so we decide to sit down and give it a try (this was roughly 5-10 mins after we got there so the 30 min wait was an exaggeration I suppose, not mad though) - we get seated next to the little arcade area. There's 5 machines stuffed into a too small area and kids are falling down these 2 steps nonstop. Parents and kids are coming over very close to our table to get to these machines and waiting to use them. It was loud and honestly very frustrating to deal with. They got into the waiter/waitress's way multiple times and caused a huge cluster. - my husband and I ordered two appetizers (the confit garlic & balsamic, the charcuterie) and a pepperoni pizza, expecting the pizza to take 40 mins even though our waiter said nothing about the wait - charcuterie was $14 for a little plate of 4 pieces of 4 types of meat, one that looked like the mystery meat from the grocery store... not worth it at all - pizza came out in 15-20 mins so I guess the bartender just lied to us about the 40 min wait time on pizza. Overall I liked the pizza but it was definitely thin crust and cut into squares (which I don't mind but my husband wasn't as thrilled by) My thoughts? Liked the pizza enough to get it to go but I will NEVER eat inside again. That arcade is a nuisance and not even really enough machines to call an arcade or tout on a website/marketing. Food was okay but not great and definitely overhyped. Love toasted coconut next door but this place is a No No for me. read more

Proper delicious Chicago tavern style pizza in a great atmosphere. Service was great. Everyone was friendly and fun! Highly recommend.

amazing food and the place is nice, service is great, pizza is deliciuos, had a great time here

I'll say this the pizza was good service bad & cost outrageous..... I'm sorry, I know the rent is horrible there... but there choice... and everything costs more these days... there is just no way 2 14" 3 topping pizzas, cheese sticks 1 small Margherita & 2 draft beers should be $110..... so if you have deep pockets this is the joint for you I guess.... read more

Worst pizza I ever had. $59,00 delivered by Uber eats. Arrived ice cold. Will never return

The food is really good and the waitress was very attentive with us even though it was a busy Sunday.

Outstanding and worth the wait. The decor is vintage, music is incredible. Pizza was amazing.

Such a fun setting - feels like you've stepped into a 1990s Pizza Hut, but the pizza is way better. Hidden nods to Chicago abound. The thin crust Chicago tavern pies are fantastic, and other mains like the muscles don't disappoint. Save room for dessert - same pastry chef as Nobie's. Our cheesecake was AMAZING. read more

I would give 5 star based on the food, service, and atmosphere except for all of the children running around. That's really a parenting problem, not a restaurant problem, but if the parents are not parenting their screaming children racing throughout the restaurant, the restaurant needs to step in and manage the situation for the other patrons. read more

This is the only pizza place in Houston, and perhaps anywhere, that doesn't offer take out. Don't bother trying to dine in either because there's nowhere to park. This one is a hard pass. There are plenty of other pizza joints in town that welcome the business. read more

This Thursday 8/1524 I walked from my apartment down the street to Nonno's to order a pepperoni/jalapeno. Went to the sliding outside door, placed my order the man was very nice and told me to come inside and enjoy the AC and while I waited. Proceeded to the front door and met the hostess who asked your typical hostess response. I told her I ordered a pizza from the sliding door and he told me to come inside to wait. I was holding a bottle of Fiji water because well we live in Houston it's bleeping hot. She denied me told me I couldn't come inside and to wait outside because of a stupid bottle of water while I waited for my order. Are you serious? This pissed me off. It's HOT here this time of the year. I honestly couldn't believe it. I would never do that to a paying customer, wow. Just felt like I had to post this because it really pissed me off. I doubt I ever come back her again just because of this. It gets 2 stars because I thought the pizza was pretty decent. read more

Food is good. Nothing spectacular music too. Hold a conversation at your table, it's a hype. Only open from 5 PM to 12 AM. Just won't be going back for overpriced food. Not really a date night spot unless you're ok with kids swinging from the walls and running around, let's call it a fancy Chuckie cheese.. wings were undercooked and rubbery. pizza was ok if you like the thin crust kind. Our waitress became very inattentive when we said we needed more time to order. They expect their bussers to keep your water full as they're trying to turn their tables over for them. If you like grated parm is $2 extra. I was expecting better. Just go to Tiny Champions or Betelgeuse for pizza. At least you can make a reservation read more

They do not do to-go orders and they charge $2 for supposed "fresh grated" Parmesan when it reality it looked just like Kraft parm that comes in the green bottle. The place has so much potential but it just comes off as pretentious. read more
