The pizza is great as expected. But the dish that keeps us coming back is the wings. They are a must try. Great bar buzz. 10/10.
Tried the Meat Head pizza and a sandwich called "Da Bomb." I wanted to order some wings, but at $15 for 6 wings, I passed this time. The menu has a decent selection of foods. The location is great, and the ambiance is cool and retro with background music. Inside, there is no TV at the bar, but they do have a few games you can play. The place itself has a cool retro vibe that anyone will like. The pizza was great fresh and hot. It's a thin crust, kind of greasy, but no big deal. It was great until about the middle part, where it started tasting a little too salty, so I stopped there but it's still good. The sandwich, though, I highly recommend. It's full of flavor and very tasty. I didn't get anything to drink, but people around me all had some nice looking drinks. Overall, the vibe inside is great. The pizza was okay, but the sandwich was the best. Great place to visit if you're a pizza lover definitely get the sandwich. the pizza $25 sandwich $18 Total about $47
So we visited this place, Nonna's because my husband wanted some pizza. And he loves thin crust pizza. You cannot get any thinner than their pizza. And it is delicious. But the first time we went in looking for pizza and we saw the menu we had to order the Osso Buco. You just hit it with a fork and it falls apart. It was so tasty and so tender. They had it sitting on polenta it was incredible. I got the mushroom risotto. That was really good. I love risotto and it had such good flavor and texture. Our little waitress Andrea, was so sweet. If you come in, ask for her, she was so accommodating and so helpful. And we went back a second time and we got the pizza. We got to do it half-and-half and it fed four of us. We also got the Badda Bing Wings. They were so good. Very crispy. We got the garlic and vinaigrette dip with the bread. That was really good, but it had big chunks of garlic in it. I loved the mozzarella sticks. They were huge and you get five of them. My picture only shows three because they couldn't wait for me to get a picture of it. They had to take them. And let me tell you that cheese was so light. Usually when I get mozzarella sticks it's thick and it's gummy and no these were delicious and big. For dessert the first time I tried the orange dream cheesecake. Which was like an orange dream sickle with a sugared orange peel on top. Yum. My husband got the big old brick of chocolate cake. It took him two days to eat it it was so good. Then on the second day, we got the potato chip chocolate chip cookie. You talk about sweet and salty and savory. And it was loaded with chocolate chips. So good. The parking is a little small, but if you can get in here, you need to go visit them. It's such a cute quirky looking little place. They have good wines and beers on tap. I got the last bottle of a very good Cabernet from Mexico. But definitely definitely worth the trouble to go see this place.
My love for Nonno's has no words, but here goes. Just know that I love tavern style, cracker thin crust. If I had a date night here, I'd make sure to lady and the tramp the mozzarella sticks every single time. It's just that fucking good. Add a little drizzle of ranch for that oomph or a dibble dabble of marinara and have a dance. Get it every time. The fungus among us has flavors that marry so well, that it's orgasmic. Definitely not for the weak. You'd need a palate cleanser after each slice. But it's just that good. Trust. Easily the top flavor that I've ever had in my life. Not into the fungus among us, no worries. You can't go wrong with the meat head or the wise guy. mwuah good ole crispy edges, perfectly portioned greasy pepperoni cup, on a cracker thin crust. The seasonal cheesecake is so good, that I think about it all the fucking time. All. The. Time. The vibes of Nonno's brings you back to the 90s of the Pizza Hut commercials of seated family dinners at the restaurant, but with breadsticks and pizza. Oh, and there's no phone. BUT, you can order online. It's kid friendly, so you gotta tolerate it, or you won't be able to understand the love for Nonno's. They have 4 old school games. pinball, Pac-Man, and a couple I can't think of the top of my head. But you get the gist. The lighting is so nostalgic, that it just hits right. I'd be devastated if Nonno's ever close. I'd lose my fuckin' mind.
Really impressed with everything about this pizzeria. Love the decor, from the Pizza Hut table lights to the arcade games. Everything was very clean. Service wise, one word... amazing. Very nice people. The food, I think I saved the best for last. The salad was very good. One of the better Caesar salads I've had. The pizza, well I rarely eat more than two slices and i demolished my half. The place was so good. Wish I was a local and could bring my kids.
Delicious pizza! We came as a huge group quite late at night with no reservations, so it was so kind of the restaurant to accommodate us. All the pizzas hit! So tasty, perfect for our quick Houston visit
Nonno's was definitely a "no no" for me. The experience started off rough because we waited over 20 minutes before anyone even came to our table. I ordered the mozzarella sticks with ranch, but the ranch never came out. The portion was also pretty small for the price. The service overall was very slow, and while the interior ambiance looked nice, it was so loud inside that it was hard to even have a conversation. I ordered the pepperoni pizza and it took over 30 minutes to come out, and honestly the quality was pretty mediocre compared to other pizza spots I've had. Parking is also difficult since it's very crowded and finding a spot can be a challenge.
Came in on a wed night and was seated immediately. Dress code: casual, came in gym attire Food 5/5: Ordered the fungus amoung us pizza, chopped salad, wings and bean dip. Everything tasted great, wings were slightly spicy and very savory, probably my favorite tonight. Service 5/5: very friendly and helpful, super knowledgeable about the menu and very professional. Accommodating when we noticed some condensation dripping at our first seat. Ambiance 4/5: rustic Italian wooden feel, quite liked the overall vibes but docked a point for the condensation that dripped down on us at the table we were first seated at, but were quickly shifted to another table when we pointed it out Value 4/5: very good portion sizes for a good price. Overall 4.5/5: very much enjoyed it the 2 times I've been here. Will be back to try other pizza toppings. Great service and food and pretty good ambiance and value Parking: is a nightmare. Small parking lot that is always full as it is shared by a couple other restaurants that are pretty popular
All I kept thinking was Why are the chicken wings so good here?? I came here for pizza and left in love with the dang CHIMKIN. The white bean dip was good, mild flavor on the boquerones. Even gave extra chippies. Broccoli pizza was unique and we added the pepperoni for some extra saltiness and protein (this was def the move). Next time might just do a build your own pizza to make a pepperoni garlic situation. Overall I love the crisp tavern style is the Za. Wow the Oreo cheesecake. Nice flame toasted strawberry compote on top. But really Wow the chimkinnnnn!!! See y'all Monday for the chicken happy hour party time
Visited Nonno's Pizzeria while in Houston. The atmosphere was lively but overly loud, making conversation difficult, and the music only added to the noise. The service was inconsistent -- cocktails were slow to arrive, and we were told well after ordering that a Hugo Spritz couldn't be made, which should've been flagged much earlier. We tried a few of their tavern-style pizzas, which were thin and basic, more like a tortilla-style pizza at home and nothing memorable. One pizza with soppressata and mushrooms was especially disappointing, with the soppressata overly oily and a surprise $9 charge for mushrooms that were barely noticeable, bringing a $16 pizza to $29. Overall, a bit overrated and not worth a return visit. Saluti
We were in the area because we had visited the MFAH. I used the good ol' Yelp app and saw this place pop up. I had previously heard of it and knew that I'd eventually have to try it. The decor and atmosphere is awesome. It's very relaxed and has a cool retro feel with the Pizza Hut lamps and the arcade games. The food was so good. I have to come back. I need more of the tavern style pizza. So crispy. So tasty. So perfect. I got the Peter Lambo and it was exactly what I needed. We also got the potatoes appetizer, and we loved it. The garlic sauce was awesome. The bartenders were so awesome and so nice. They know what they're doing with cocktails, because they were really good. I also got to try Malort which everyone said would be really bad, but I'm a rare lover of Malort I guess. Very popular in Chicago. You definitely gotta try it if you come here. All in all, this is awesome. Come here. Now.
Nonno's has been on our long list of pizza places to try in Houston. Nonno's is known for their thin crust pizza and nostalgic and retro interior. Service: service here was great! We came for lunch on a Saturday and the restaurant was not packed. We were seated immediately. Our server was great. They keep a pitcher of water at the table which is nice. Our food came hot and fresh and our waitress was very attentive. Parking: Nonno's has a small parking lot in front of the restaurant. The parking lot looks like it's shared with The Toasted Coconut which is right next door. Ambiance: the restaurant has a retro feel with arcade games and 80/90s looking decor. They have a nice bar area with countertop service. The restaurant is clean and well kept. Food: we ordered the Mozz Sticks as an appetizer and those were amazing. They are a little pricey at 5 mozzarella sticks for $15 but I think they are worth it. You can get a side of regular marinara or spicy marinara with the mozzarella sticks so we got both to try them out. Both sauces were very good! The mozzarella sticks were coated in a panko type crust and you could tell they were fried fresh and had a nice crispy exterior with a cheesy interior. For our mains we ordered the Peter Lambo and the Meat Head pizzas. The Peter Lambo had a white sauce with chicken and a pesto sauce on top. It had good flavor! Would recommend this for those who enjoy white sauce instead of marinara sauce. The meat head pizza had capicola, pepperoni, and sausage and a marinara sauce. This pizza was heavy and a little greasy. If you like meat, this is the pizza for you. This pizza was also very crispy. It got difficult to eat a lot of this pizza because it was crunchy and heavy at the same time. Overall Nonno's has very good pizza. I don't think it's the best pizza in Houston. This is easily the best thin crust pizza in Houston. I wanted to give it 5 stars nit when compared to other pizza in Houston, it's not there for me. Definitely come here if you love thin crust pizza! Also the mozzarella sticks were amazing! The interior is also really nice for those who love throwback decor. There are old Pizza Hut lamps over some of the booths. Nonno's brings the nostalgia and flavor. Come give them a try!
Parking can be frustrating. The mozzarella sticks are a big winner here. I was a bit mixed with the pizza, if the sauces match you can split the pie. I think they mostly have thin cust which is what I like. They have a nice bar, and a good drink menu. Retro interior with a couple of arcade games. It was a interesting place, I would go back.

My boyfriend took me here for a date night last Saturday. Neither of us had been before so we really didn't know what to expect. I'm already a fan of the food at Toasted Coconut so I figured it couldn't be bad. To start, we ordered the mozzarella sticks because our server said they're one of the restaurant's most popular items. They came with both a regular marinara and a spicy marinara. The spicy one wasn't really my favorite taste wise but the regular marinara was delicious. And the cheese pull on those mozzarella sticks was CRAZYYYYY! I see why they're popular. For our mains, we shared a buffalo chicken pizza and an order of the potato gnocchi. Honestly the pizza was large enough that we probably didn't need the gnocchi but we wanted to try a few different dishes. Their pizzas come in a thin crispy crust and are cut into squares which I actually loved because you don't end up feeling overly stuffed from all the bread. The buffalo chicken pizza was super tasty. The buffalo sauce had a nice kick and was super tangy! The potato gnocchi was also fantastic. It came in a pesto sauce with goat cheese which is always a winning combination for me. The flavors worked so well together and the gnocchi itself was so freaking soft and pillowy. The service was okay. Our server was attentive at the beginning but once the food arrived we didn't see much of her until we flagged her down to bring the check. Nothing terrible but it definitely was not memorable. What really stood out to me was the atmosphere. The space is super hip with dim lighting, cool decor, and great music playing. The vibe alone makes it worth visiting! Overall, we had a great meal and a really fun date night. I'll definitely be back to try more of the menu! read more

(3/5) Maybe it's just me, but Houston really knows how to hype up restaurants sometimes. First off, parking was a mess. To be fair, I think Nando's is in the Heights area, so that's somewhat expected, but it's still worth mentioning if you're planning a visit. The restaurant itself is super cute and definitely has a great vibe. The service was excellent from start to finish, and I can absolutely see why people enjoy hanging out here, especially if you're grabbing drinks with friends. The atmosphere was probably my favorite part of the experience. As for the food... it was just okay. We ordered wings, which had an interesting flavor. They were good, but not in a way that had me wanting more. We also got a pesto pizza, and while it was manageable, it was extremely salty. The second pizza was pepperoni with jalapeños, but the jalapeños were surprisingly dull and didn't add much flavor at all. The standout item for us was actually the Caesar salad. It was fresh, flavorful, and honestly the best thing we ordered. We each had a Coke, ordered a few items, and somehow the bill ended up close to $100, which felt pretty steep for what we got. The food wasn't bad, but it definitely wasn't memorable enough to justify the price point. One thing I noticed: a lot of people were ordering the Funghi pizza. It's not really my thing, but it seemed to be one of the most popular items in the restaurant. Overall, I'm glad I tried it. I really like the atmosphere here. The service was really good. The pizza reminds me of pizza that I had in high school with the crispy crust. The dipping sauces were good. I'd go back just for the video games and retro feel. Definitely would ask for roasted garlic and a bit more sauce on my pizza. I feel like it would have been perfect if that was added. Really liked the atmosphere here--super chill with a fun, retro vibe. Service was great too. The pizza brought back high school memories with that crispy crust. The dipping sauces were a nice touch. I'd definitely come back just for the video games and the whole throwback feel. Only thing I'd change: I wish the pizza had a bit more sauce and some roasted garlic. That would've made it perfect. Came with 2 Yelpers. This place was on there list, and I too was curious so we decided on this. Parking- they have a some spots out front, it shares a lot with other business. But this was full. I followed my friend across the street and found the toasted coconut sign and you can park there. Service - was really the best. Our server Frank was fantastic, easy breezy, conversational, happy to help, and gave us a little taste of one of the cocktails, which was soo kind. Food- the 3 of us decided to split a pizza and it was the right move, as it was enough for us. If you do come solo, be prepared to bring home takeaway. Cutesy vibe with the throwback games and Pizza Hut Chandliers, and old timey wooden framing decor, and cool record player. Would I return? Most def. read more
Let me start by saying this restaurant vibe is so inviting and reminds me of my younger college days! It has a very nostalgic look but with a modern twist! The staff was great and super friendly. They provided superb service without all the extra fluff of big box pizza places. The menu is clear and prices are reasonable. I had the Mozz Sticks are great hefty size full of cheeese! The marinara sauce was on point! I had the spicy one and regular were super delish! Now, for main dish! I had the Pepperoni was soo good and like no other pizza I had. It was crispy and cheesy without the cheese falling off the pizza. It was flavorful and perfect for an earlier dinner without too much bread. I would definitely recommend to all my pizza lovers! We went with a group of eight and squished into a booth. I saw other areas that would have fit our group better but it's ok. The pizza was yummy and made to order so it took a bit. I feel like service was just ok. They charge 22% tip for large groups and the service didn't feel equal to it. Finally had the chance to check this place out after much hype and positive reviews, plus knowing their other restaurants made this a surefire win. It's all true, this place is solid, especially if you are a thin (and I mean thin) crust pizza fan. We started with their garlic confit (comes with the best focaccia ever) and the kale salad then had a pizza of half meat head and half wise guy. Everything was delicious, great flavors and interesting combinations takes this place up a notch from its competition. Excellent staff and cool vibes makes this a fun outing for any meal. The interior and vibes is so nice but the food we ordered was just alright. The first dish I tried was the mushroom cavatelli and it was a little too salty for my liking. The breadcrumbs also gave it a bready taste (in a sandwich type of way) that I'm not sure I liked. 3/5 stars I also tried the broccoli garlic pizza; and while good at first, I found myself getting tired of the lemon ricotta. I liked the freshness that the lemon flavor added to the pizza, but the ricotta just became too heavy. I feel like this would be perfect with hot honey instead. 3.5/5 stars read more
Truly a thin crust pizza that isn't cracker like but isn't soggy either. Really solid. Nice amount of cheese and was cooked perfectly. Mozzarella sticks were really good and crispy though the smoky marinara sauce wasn't for me. Service was really great. read more
My wife and I really love this place. Only complaint is that the parking is often extra terrible! The service is always great, very family friendly (important to us now that we are no longer DINKs), and it is very reminiscent of a modern take on the pizza parlors from my youth in the 80s. Highly encourage you to order the cheese sticks. These are the least greasy and likely the most delicious cheese sticks I have ever experienced. Definitely a spot work checking out! read more

I really loved this place! We came for a date night and had an amazing time. It's nostalgic, 80s vibes in the restaraunt, which is really fun but done tastefully. Nonno's is such a cool, fun atmosphere. The retro feel and arcade games really add to the nostalgic pizza vibe. Service was on point, and the employees were so friendly. After loving Nobie's and Toasted Coconut, it was about time I tried this place out. Food wise, our table shared the Maui Wowee pizza (Hawaiian pizza w/ an added kick of smoked jalapenos), and the Meat Head pizza (capicola, pepperoni, and sausage specifically). Their pizzas are 14" Chicago tavern style, which has some of the best THIN crust pizza in the city. Don't sleep on the huge mozzarella sticks either. Paired with a couple cocktails, beer, and glasses of wine, our table had a great night of catching up over even better food. Would I come back? Most definitely! There is still a lot of the menu I want to try like the Build Your Own Pizza option, salads, appetizers, sandwiches, pasta, and for sure dessert next time. This restaurant much like it's sister restaurants is a full dining experience. The interior decor is very well thought out with a true 80's pizzeria vibe including video games and Pizza Hut lights. The service was spectacular! We truly enjoyed the garlic balsamic appetizer! It is something special. The pizza was good. Ask for ranch! It is amazing. I would pass on dessert. We did mini cookies and they were hard and flavorless- more like a small bag of Chips A'hoy. Overall I would certainly try this place again, especially to taste their pastas. This review is a little late as I went last month, but here it is. I went with a group of friends on a Monday night. Unsurprisingly a lot of the cool spots are closed on Monday, but this cool spot is not. As you walk in, Nonno's gives you an old school pizza parlor vibe - they have a reel to reel music player, arcade games, shuffleboard and more. We got sat in a comfortable booth, and got served promptly. For food we shared the mozz sticks, Maui Wowee pizza and Meat Head pizza. The sticks were huge and delicious. The mozzarella tasted fresh and the outside was crunchy. Both pizzas were delicious, but my favorite was the Maui Wowee - basically as the name suggests is their spin on a Hawaiian. Their pizza is pretty much tavern style - thin and crunchy. Other than food they also have a good cocktail list and of course beer and wine options. Overall this spot is a must try. The vibes and the food were just perfect. Also, we saw Chris Shepherd hanging out at the bar and I take that as a good sign! read more
Came to Nonno's to grab some drinks and have a little grub with friends after a movie nearby. Nonno's has been on my list for awhile and needed to be crossed off the list. Nonno's is part of the Nobie and Toasted Coconut family so I knew we were in for a treat. Located off Richmond, the place is easy to find but parking is challenging in their lot. They got street parking off to the side, but I suggest going to their lot across the street. The lot is a little rough though, so drive carefully. They don't take reservations, so expect a wait at peak times. When we came, it was busy, but we did get options on seating. We chose to sit off to the side where they have an open wall where there half your party can sit outside while the other half sits inside. There's also some bar seating as well as booths throughout. They have a retro theme going complete with record players, pinball machines and even old pizza hut lamps hanging from the ceiling. If that isn't enough, they blast some great retro hits as well. Frank was the man with the plan that took care of us that afternoon. He gave excellent recommendations and was friendly throughout. Nonno's has a variety of offering in both the drink and food categories. For adult beverages, they have draft and bottles beer and cocktails. The frozen Porn Star Martini was suggested to us so we got that. Vodka and passionfruit made up this drink and it was very good. Just the right amount of tart with a little bit of sweetness. It's a perfect hot weather drink. They got options for food as well ranging from sandwiches, salads, pastas, and apps. Their main draw is their tavern style pizza. I'm a pizza lover in general, but a thin crust pizza always has my heart. Tavern style is really the real Chicago style pizza. I've had it in Chicago and throughout the Midwest. There's something about that thin, crispy, cracker like crust that just can't be beat. It usually has a good amount of cheese and toppings all the way to the edges. A bad bite doesn't exist on this type of pizza. We wanted to share one pizza as we wanted to get a bite next door too. We settled on the Wise Guy which came with sausage and giardiniera (mixture of pickled vegetables). We also added pepperoni to one half of the pizza as well. This pizza was absolutely delicious. It came out hot and crispy as advertised. The toppings were spread out just right and every bite had everything. The pizza was 14 inches which was perfect for 3 people without being overly full. I've never had giardiniera on pizza before but that was a game changer. It also added a nice touch of heat to the pizza as well. Overall, this was a solid spot that we thoroughly enjoyed. I've had craving for the pizza here since. I was told the pasta game here is strong too so a return visit will be happening real soon for sure! read more

Really enjoyed our dinner at Nonno's. The white bean dip was smooth and flavorful (kid favorite), and the little green saag was such a fun, unexpected dish -- super fresh with great texture. We finished with the cheesecake, which was light, creamy, and just the right amount of sweet. Can't wait to come back and try the pasta and the "above average cabbage".
