    Pasta pesto

Perfect name of this business. I feel like these are grandmother recipes in this small, quaint restaurant. What I loved: light design. Small menu. Personable staff. I even appreciated that the food didn't come out in 2 minutes-it was definitely made fresh. What I liked: location is ideal if you're in the area. Parking wasn't a struggle. If you're in a rush be aware it is in a shopping plaza. But I could treat myself to lunch and then go grocery shopping for dinner next door. Honestly, nothing I would say they need to improve on. I ordered the spinach salad. Didn't think I would love the blood oranges in it. But I did. The pesto pasta I ordered because I hadn't had pesto in a while. I enjoyed it. When I first got it, I thought the portion should be more. But as I ate it, I was full before I could finish. I think because it was so flavorful. Great spot. I really want to go back and enjoy a couple glasses of wine.

This is a very cute restaurant you walk in and it feels calm relaxed and peaceful a great place to go for early dinner or Lunch . While the restaurant is small there are a lot of seating options for party of 2/4 including the bar . I ordered to go the Maccheroni Vodka with an add on of Meatball . The order was ready for pick up when I arrived and the cashier was very nice and welcoming . When I arrived home I was excited to dig in because it smelled so good but unfortunately after the first bite I was extremely underwhelmed . It looked wonderful but the pasta was very mushy in texture (I'd probably suggest cooking To-go pasta closer to al dente because with the type of container which is great and keeps the food warm it also has a lot of condensation when I opened the lid creating it to probably cook down more . Sadly the sauce was all but tasteless (while again I acknowledge it can easily be that it probably due to the extra moisture of the container ) I just expected more flavor everything just lacked seasoning even the meatball . The vodka sauce imo was more of a strong tomato sauce in flavor than the creamy lifted taste I'm use to in a vodka sauce and the meatball lacked seasoning. While I'm definitely open to trying other things on the menu it will probably be better to try it Dining in rather than ordering to - go.

I came here in July. I did not realize how casual it is. It is a very casual spot next to Willy's and Publix. I was initially seated, but no one acknowledged me for at least 15 mins. The place was packed, but no one even brought me water. The chairs bump into each other from different tables bc it's so cramped so I decided to order to go instead when the waiter finally came. I took my food home and was hopeful bc the Arancini was delicious. The pasta was harder than al dente, and the tomato sauce tasted like something from a grocery store. The tiramisu was a little dry. I will not be back, but other people seemed to really like it.

Service was perfect, one server taking good care of everyone. She let us switch out pastas, diavolo sauce was great, pesto spaghetti with green beans and potatoes. too, meatballs better than most. The Sicilian red was delicious. All the pastas are homemade. A find!

So this is a nice and small little eatery kind of situation. It's not a overly large chain, it's actually located in a strip mall so we only have so much space to work with. But it's still solid though. They have indoor and outdoor seating. If it's nice outside, I would suggest definitely sitting out while you dying. It's in an area that has a lot of businesses so you may come across the business crowd if you aren't going for lunch. But it's shopping center area and a street parking. So just keep that in mind too. You'll walk in and you can sit at the table bar area, which is only about four seats, or I'll grab one of us for the smaller tables. Since it's so small they don't really have a whole full staff, so the person who takes your order will probably be the person that serves your food as well. Last time I was there a lady who served us, wish I remember her name, but she was super nice. She explained the menu in great detail and gave her thoughts on the favorites and helped me customize my meal. Polpette - So the meatballs were good. There were about five of them and the ricotta cheese was at the bottom and everything was covered in sauce. Collectively. It had a really good flavor. She offered bread, so I used the bread to sop up some of the sauce as well because no flavor should be wasted. But the meatballs by themselves sounded really good flavor. Also to note, if they offer bread, the bread is not free. You know how some places will give you complimentary bread, no, this is bread service that you're getting. It'll come and a small loaf cut into pieces and come with oil. The bread is very hard and crisp on the outside but very flaky on the inside. Caesar salad - The Caesar salad was pretty good. Nothing special, probably wouldn't get it again honestly, but it was okay. Some of the lettuce wasn't as fresh that I thought it should have been but they had a lot of croutons and a lot of cheese so I guess it balanced out. It didn't have a lot of dressing on there so if you want dressing, you may have to ask for more or extra. Spaghetti fra Diavolo - now this was the star of the show for me. It was full of shrimp, and I can appreciate that. You know how some places will give you four shrimp for the meal. You just got to cut it into pieces, no I got at least ate shrimp in my dish. It was good, but it was supposed to be spicy. I asked her can I pick it up a little bit and she made it more spicy when she brought it to the table. And man let me tell you you can smell the spice when she put the plate down LOL. But it was good and it had a nice amount of pasta, sauce, and shrimp. Very good balance. Overall, it's a pretty cool spot. There are a couple of the things that I wanted to try, so I will probably stop by for lunch on another day!

Close your eyes and you're in a cozy Manhattan neighborhood Italian eatery. Service was excellent, food was hot, fresh, and tasty. Highly recommend and we'll be back again soon.

Came in for lunch over the weekend and was blown away by all the delicious dishes we tried! My 6 year old loved the meatballs and the lasagna (so did I) and I had the chicken ravioli and caprese salad! I can't remember the name of them but the fried Mac and cheese balls are amazing and a great snack to share amongst the table. Great spot and can't wait to come back to try more of their food and desserts!

She also clued us into the fact that you can get all of their entree pastas in appetizer size! This means we were able to try more pastas as well as enjoy an app and dessert. We ordered a bottle of Nero D'Avola, which was smooth and delicious. We got the meatballs as our appetizer, which were super tender and full of flavor. We split the rigatoni alla vodka, fettucine ai funghi, and tagliatelle bolognese. All were perfection. I loved the creaminess of the alla vodka, which had a kick of spice from the chili oil. I loved the herbiness and freshness of both the ai funghi with its sage and the bolognese with its rosemary. The tiramisu was the only dish that was just ok. I would much rather have espresso drenched ladyfingers than coffee liquor. But it was still good so I cannot complain. The waitress also surprised us with prosecco with a lemon rind twist to celebrate the fact that we had just closed on our first ever home. All in all - it was a perfect evening.

We did arrive here a bit early for our reservation but were seated right next to the open kitchen, so it felt quite crowded and cramped. It's a very, very small restaurant and it was freezing where we sat because we were under the vents. Our server, Mary Catherine, was a treat and she took good care of us. She took our drink orders, though I didn't drink tonight. For appetizers, we started with the calamari and stuffed clams. They also offered complementary bread and olive oil basket that was served warm, yum! Our food orders came out pretty fast actually. The calamari was not your typical fried calamari - it was delicious and loved the mix of raw onions in it for that fresh bite. I'm not a fan of clams so I didn't try this, but heard it was just breading and can't really taste the clam taste. For my entree, I ordered the spaghetti pomodoro with meatballs. I had been dreaming about this since making the reservations and it did not disappoint. The pasta was cooked al dente and the sauce was wonderful. I did think the meatballs were a tad too salty for my taste and I'm glad I opted out of the freshly grated parm because I feel like that would have made everything saltier. After our meal, they brought out free dessert for the birthday celebrants. Nothing but raves were said after our dinner here and we're definitely looking forward to coming back here again.

We were seated in the back which is still festive but brighter and less cozy. Like many mentioned, the waitstaff wasn't interested in making the experience memorable and wanted you in and out as fast as possible. The portion size of their $18 olive and pesto appetizer was appalling. Six olives (yes, six!), four slivers of cheese, three artichoke hearts, and a ramekin of delicious pesto. This feels like a tourist trap in a quaint neighborhood. We both got pasta entrees and they were good, but expensive considering no meat was included. The drinks were festive and actually felt like a good pour considering how expensive they are. 2 stars for that. We ended with the crème brûlée which was somehow over cooked and not creamy. I'm sure the owner will be aggressive about this honest review. To be fair, my sister loved the experience but she's hardly traveled and is delighted by mediocre things sometimes. I really wanted to love this place because we just moved to the area and I wanted to have this be our new cozy date night place. It won't be. If you want to spend $100 per person for mediocre food and holiday photos, this is your place.

Free small parking lot in front. Free extra parking across the street. The total was about $150 for 2 appetizers, 2 entrees, 2 drinks, and a dessert. Pros The quiet, intimate, and classy atmosphere was exactly what I needed for my family. When we first arrived, our table was not ready and we had to wait outside. However we were given continuous updates on when the table would be ready, they apologized, and they were very understanding. Considering we were a large party in an intimate space, we understood and only waited about 20 minutes before the table was ready. You could tell the food was fresh, the orders came fast, and the service was amazing. The fresh in house pasta took everything to the next level. It was the perfect night out. Cons The establishment is intimate so I do not think it would ideal for extra large parties. I had a party of 8 at 8PM but I dont know if they could have accomodated us if it was any earlier during prime dinner time. I wish they had a better parking situation but its not bad and its free. I randomly decided that I wanted Italian so we decided to check them out for the first time. Mezza Luna is located in a very small plaza with a tight parking lot. I'm so glad that I read the reviews in advance about parking, but I still wasn't prepared for what we saw. Surprisingly, there were 2 or 3 open spots when we visited around 7pm. We had reservations and were quickly seated after being greeted. The restaurant itself was quite intimate, offering only a few tables that were laid out in a manner that had us all quite close. But it worked! Since we had our son with us, they already had a high chair ready for us but he slept through the entire dinner, which also shows how peaceful it actually was in there. I started with a glass of chianti and it paired perfectly with the complimentary starter bread. That focaccia was so fresh! The crust had a great crunch but it was still soft and fluffy inside. We went with the meatball appetizer special which included 4-5 meatballs covered in marinara, fresh tomatoes and burrata. They were delicious, although the tomatoes being cold was a bit of a surprise. For dinner, I went for the chicken piccata and my partner opted for the chicken marsala. Both were great and packed with flavor. Such an unassuming place with tons of flavor waiting inside - perfect for date night or just a nice Italian dinner!

This place is hard to miss as it's right on Roswell Rd. There is complimentary valet parking available, but there's also free parking at a deck just a few steps away from the restaurant entrance. We were greeted by the hostess as soon as we walked in and the restaurant was already very busy for a Saturday 6 pm dinner. Our server was fine, and the food was decent. I opted for the blackberry fiz mocktail, which was super sweet at first, but with a good mix, it was super refreshing. For starters, we shared the eggplant balls (a must get here!) and the bread service. The eggplant balls were definitely shareable and were probably our favorite thing we ate. The bread service you could probably skip - we wish it was served with vinegar instead of just oil and an olive tapenade. For entrees, I ordered one of the dinner specials, grilled branzino served with broccolini and potatoes. My husband ordered the ravioli. I really enjoyed the branzino, it was tender and the skin was cooked crispy. I loved that the broccolini was charred enough, but wish the potatoes were cooked a bit more. The capers added the needed saltiness to the dish, though I wish this was served with lemon or something to balance out the flavors. My husband enjoyed his ravioli but found it too heavy with the cream sauce. We thought this was a decent place for dinner, but nothing really stood out besides the eggplant balls.

In my photos you can see what we ordered, but my recommendation is to simply ask your server what they like and you'll undoubtably get something stellar. However the server we had tonight was one of the worst experiences I've had especially for a place that is trying to sell an upscale dining environment he greeted the table by saying (after we asked how he was doing) "I'm doing f-ing horrible I'm tired and feel like sh*t we had such a busy night last night" he was not very knowledgeable about menu or drinks and his overall appearance gave very much unhygienic he also forgot to put in our food order so we waited double the time and said that since we already had appetizers and the other table did not have any food that we could wait to order food, also just assumed how someone in my group wanted there steak cooked so had to wait for that to be redone, he was all over the place and did not check in on us very often we needed things like refills or salt pepper etc. and went without because bad service I don't think he should have been working he obviously did not want to be there he also failed to mention that the kitchen was closing so we did not get to try the desserts. There were a couple of other things but don't want a 5 page review I cannot remember his name but a taller white guy with a messy bun and tired eyes. We still left a tip because that's what you do when you go out but if he treated his other tables like he did us I wouldn't be surprised if we were the only ones that tipped. I suggest not going on a busy night to get good service I guess. My group was 4 ppl 2 couples trying to enjoy a nice double date without the craziness of v-day next time we will celebrate days before. Will for sure be going back and hope you give them a try but if that's how the waiter greets himself please go ahead and ask for a different server!!!!
