I'm trying to find the best popcorn chicken in the OC, and sadly did not find that here. This is the first time chicken has left my mouth dryer with every chew. You must be thinking I'm exaggerating right? Look at the attached photo and just imagine that in your mouth, as almost every piece looked like that inside. The shaken beef was also dry, though not as severely, but fortunately the rice provided redemption as it was deliciously fragrant and pleasant. The combo vermicelli had noodles that tasted so waterlogged that it lacked flavor overall despite the fish sauce coming in punching. Ordered a crunch egg roll, rice with fried chicken and meat with fried rice and noodles. Our food was served within 10 minutes. The food was outstanding! It was really delicious! Very cute spot conveniently off the freeway and across from the Honda Center. We were looking for a little snack before a long drive and this hit the spot. Good price for some simple popcorn chicken. Thought this was a more casual boab tea shop but it's a full on restaurant. They have a pretty large menu and actually when you walk in, the server will take you to your seat and bring you menus. The best part of the dish for me was the eggroll. Also, the the plate that it was served on had a lip and when I tried to grab the pork or eggroll, it would slightly tip the plate over. The eggrolls was good. I enjoyed how crispy and light it was. Lastly, the star of the show is the popcorn chicken. Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. This business was not our first choice here but the best choice. One restaurant reeked of Pinesol. Another only served breakfast. Another had a confusing menu and no servers. Non's was welcoming with a single person working in front. I ordered the glazed salmon. It tasted ok, I devoured it. It was not really "Glazed" with the wonderful coating applied to salmon that I'm used to getting at other establishments. This was a VERY small piece of salmon that just had a somewhat sweet application of sauce brushed on after it came off the grill. The spring rolls were just ok. Nothing special. Contained a mystery meat that was probably pork. The ice tea was very good but served in a disposable plastic cup. The ice cream thing from the freezer was an oddity of dessert and packaging. Great experience! I went twice and both times I was helped by two different ladies who were both so nice and welcoming. The first lady was patient with me as it was my first time ordering. I read the reviews ahead of time to see what was popular. There were so many options to choose from so I couldn't decide! I ended up getting the combo vermicelli and shrimp spring rolls and they DID NOT DISAPPOINT. The second time, I saw a table with some popcorn chicken, so I HAD to order that and another order of the shrimp spring rolls. The lady recommended that I tried the pork spring rolls so I got that as well. I also got the green Thai tea. It was different than your average Thai tea but still good nonetheless. Non's is located in a section of a business-commercial complex that holds events. If an event is going on, then avoid the event parking and look for the signs for restaurant parking. There are numerous Tesla charging stations at this location. Parking can be limited due to popularity of the many restaurants in this lot, but one can find a spot. Non's has limited seating, but their business seems to come in waves, so there is a good chance of getting a table. It was about average noise level for most of our visit, but got a little loud when a lot of ppl came in at the end. We got the spring rolls, calamari, grilled salmon, a seafood noodle, and pop corn chicken. The salmon was the best dish and came with ketchup rice, which was nostalgic. The seafood noodle and the rolls were the next best dishes. All the fried dishes were just ok. Other places have far better pop corn chicken. The calamari was a little greasy, but seemed fresh enough. The salmon and noodle portions are probably a little small for most people and most will probably want an appetizer and/or drink to go with it. The best part of the experience was the service. The two ladies working at the time we were there were super nice, attentive, refilled our water numerous times, and didn't complain when we stayed a long time to talk. There is a code for the toilet on the tables or else ask the servers. Overall, 4-4.5 stars is about right for Non's. I ordered the vermicelli with shrimp and it was probably one of the best vermicelli dishes I've had in a while. The fried shallots added a nice flavor to the noodles and the veggies. I also liked the portion size of this dish because it was the perfect amount for one person, so it was easier to finish everything.
