Definitely come here! One of the better Pho spots I've been to in a while. I love it when the broth is good enough as it is, you don't have to add anything to the broth to try to make it better. That is the case with District 9, just need the regular basil, lime, beansprout garnish (jalapeno if you like spicy). The meat and the tendon also good quality and very soft. Their spring roll is super fresh and filling and I like their peanut sauce that goes with it as well. Oh and their housemade chili oil? Also one of the better ones I've had at a pho restaurant, good consistency and has a lot of flavor instead of it just being chili and oil. I bought a bottle so I can eat that with other food at home. The service is excellent the staff are nice amd explain all the different options for the pho, spring rolls and other menu items. Speaking on the food. It was top notch. Our household has had District 9 Kitchen twice in the last week! When picking up takeout, the restaurant has been busy but we picked up our order quickly and the staff was friendly. It isn't that big inside so it's a cozy spot to eat a laidback meal in, which we hope to do shortly. The food is really delicious! I'm vegetarian and they had ample offerings. I liked the tempura tofu and the vegan broth in the pho was very flavorful and aromatic. Next time I want to try the garlic noodles, I think those would be especially yummy with tofu! I think since they just opened they've been extra generous so we got a complimentary Thai tea which was good and the most adorable jar of chili oil (which I put into my pho to make it even yummier!). We originally planned to visit another pho spot, but it didn't look very appealing, so we searched for an alternative and discovered District 9--what a great find. Located in an unassuming shopping center, the exterior already stood out, and once inside, the space felt modern, warm, and welcoming. The lighting, brick accents, and furniture all created a thoughtfully designed atmosphere--no harsh fluorescent lights, which made a big difference. It truly feels more upscale than a typical pho restaurant. The service was excellent from the start. The staff member who helped us was friendly and attentive, always smiling and accommodating any requests without hesitation. The food arrived promptly, and everything--from the dining area to the table settings--was spotless. I especially appreciated the details: black and gold utensils, stylish entrée plates, plastic cups paired with a stainless steel water carafe, and even the chili sauce served in a gold container with a saucer. These touches elevated the entire experience. The ambiance was also well managed. When we first arrived, the door was open, letting in fresh air, but once a larger group came in, the staff quickly adjusted by closing the door and turning on the AC. Even the music improved--what started off less appealing was quickly switched to smooth French jazz, adding to the refined atmosphere.
