Chocolate Ganache Heaven. Ok starting with dessert is ok in a Pastry Kitchen. We are all fans of the darkest chocolate but a great ganache is such a fabulously French thing the reason we love France and her desserts. Let Tobi Reign with eclairs or profiteroles or even a cupcake as long as the dark chocolate lasts. Homemade bread is good. Housemade Bread by fine dining chefs who live to do nothing else is as good as it gets. Let there be sandwiches all you want but it all starts with the housemade bread. Great sandwiches great bread. Grab some Pate, wine, and dine. Breakfast and Lunch and why not take stuff home for dinner. Love that aroma of someones in the kitchen cooking. This is the type of jewel that you can wear everyday. They are my neighbors and I love having them here despite the fact that I have gained more than a few pounds since they opened shop. This is the best pastry in Eugene hands down. their tarts, cream puffs, cupcakes beat anything at Sweet life. the bostock is an amazing piece of heaven. their croissants, all of them plain chocolate, almond are flaky and buttery. yumm....their baguette is crusty and has the right amount of chewiness. what else? This corner shop is the best in town, bar none. Noisette Pastry Kitchen could compete successfully in a much larger market (but please don't leave us!). Every other tired bakery using the same old same old Eugene formula or wanna-be hipster is on notice - this place is seriously good. They have many savory items (vegetable tarts, cheese biscuits, olive brioche, mushroom croissants) as well as sweet standards (brownies, cookies, cakes, pies). The crusts are light and crumbly where they should be, the bread is fresh, crunchy on the outside, light on the inside but not too much. The vegetable tart tastes of individual vegetables combined in a savory cheesy layer which is substantial enough for a meal and not anywhere near the leaden fritata/quiche/tart end of the spectrum. In from Portland for a night, and we were delighted by brunch at this sweet little spot! I've never had such a delicately authentic and delicious selection of French treats! We shared an incredible "savory tart" seasoned to perfection in the most delicate crust, a decadent tartine filled with ham and bechamel, and a perfect little cannele with a tasty glass of white Bordeaux. I could not love Noisette more. They have a selection of pastries and baked goods that you just won't find anywhere else. The almond Bostok is amazing. The savory brioches, the cookies, the mousse, and the pies at Thanksgiving, I could go on and on. They have a fantastic tea selection and I hear the coffee is good too. Nestled in downtown Eugene lies a cute and delicious cafe that many locals will rave about. I have been here a couple times since moving to Eugene and have also ordered a birthday cake online. When I first stepped into Noisette my eyes were instantly glued to all of the beautiful pastries they have in their glass case. Lemon tarts, cupcakes, cookies, macrons, and eclairs are some of the tasty treats you will find here but they are always changing their selection. They also have a different kind of bread every day and different savory items to choose from. I love their lemon tart! It's perfectly sweet and tangy at the same time. My boyfriend likes to order espresso drinks here. Noisette also has a catering department and you can hire them to come and cater your special events. Since I love how beautiful their cakes are I ordered one for my boyfriend's birthday. The decorations were amazing and absolutely perfect. While I appreciated the decorations, I was a little disappointed at how dry the actual cake was. The flavor of the cake was good but the frosting was a little bland and mostly tasted of butter. I had also wished there was more chocolate inside because the description made it sound like it would be more chocolatey. I probably won't order a cake from them again but I would like to order a big fruit tart or something along those lines. Also, I feel that their savory food is pretty expensive for such a small portion and not really worth it if you're on a budget. Something I've noticed in many restaurants, coffee shops etc is consistency. Went to Noisette for the first time and had a very enjoyable experience. Delicious savory croissants, decent coffee and nice ambiance. However it seems a little pricey for a latte and a pastry. My second visit was not so enjoyable. Arriving around 9 am - there's no one in the bakery and the staff was a bit snarky as we were choosing our pastries. Pastry was tasty but I must admit I did not feel well an hour later. Had an eclair on the first visit, melted in your mouth. Second time around it tasted like it had been sitting around a few days. I understand places that have no wi-fi service available, especially if you are small or don't want any squatters. However if you have a decent sized place but it's empty and no internet, I'll take my business elsewhere. If I owned a bakery I'd love for it to be bustling with people in the morning. Places like that can be energizing and create a sense of community. I love the idea of Noisette. I will try it for lunch or during the wine/beer hour. However a few morning adjustments could improve the overall experience. In today's day and age Wi-Fi is a must in my book especially in places like Noisette. read more

This was pretty good! The staff was friendly and helpful. We were pointed to the goat cheese biscuit and the bostock by the person behind the counter and added in a goat cheese roll thing. First off, according to a quote from the owner in the Register-Guard, it's pronounced "nwah-zet," which "refers both to hazelnuts and browned butter that takes on a nutty taste." I just had a generously-portioned piece of quiche made with squash, fontina, mushrooms, and heavenly deliciousness. It was real, real good. The crust especially was buttery perfection, and I suspect I will be back to try other things. They had some savory croissants that looked really good. The location is convenient. Also, the staff was friendly and very helpful. They even had a neat touch screen register. They can turn the screen toward you so you can tap in your tip and opt for no receipt. The nerd in me was very impressed. My only complaint is the acoustics in this place make it noisy at times. A very minor, and probably fixable problem. read more

For me it's all about lunch here. They have a few sandwich types, pre made, and wrapped in paper. It's fast. I particularly like the Lamb Sandwich, but I'll try just about any of their sandwiches. The space itself is industrial chic, concrete floors and is perfect for lunch. I'm not big into the sweets, but the apple pie with crumble top is really good. Beware, they really don't know how to make a cappuccino. They serve it 12+ oz. with the meringue foam you will get at Starbucks. read more

My husband just brought home a loaf of Noisette's Spent Grains Bread, still warm from the oven, and I know this loaf and got myself a hunk right away. Pure bread heaven. Noisette has a couple of special breads that have the qualities we love as spoiled East-Coast bread connoisseurs: some whole grains, a delicately brittle crust with some crunch and chewiness to it, and a hole-filled interior full of good flavor. New in town but with a back injury, I was looking for places with nice standing room. The window ledge, with its giant pumpkins, can get crowded but empties out early afternoon, once the lunch crowd clears. A medium-sized place, nice ambiance, bright and warm, music never too loud or intrusive, service very friendly. Bostock and Chocolate Cream Cheese Coffee Cake are standouts. Most baked goods on point. Beef pot pie a bit run-of-the-mill. Not a ton of tables, but enough; ditto outlets. Wi-fi strong, parking--well, in the nearby blocks you have to move every two hours, but it's free, and competition for spots did not seem fierce. read more

Meh. First off, they need more product. Way more. The counters should be spilling over with baked goods and savories. When I walk into a bakery, especially one in a space as large as Noisette's, I expect to be bombarded with pastry eye candy. I only saw one type of cupcake, four types of cookies, and a few other things. If there are three bakers in the rear busting out goods (you can see them as the kitchen space is open) then there damn well be more than one type of cupcake (or whatever.) Also, I got here around noon so it wasn't as if there was more product earlier (there may have been), but the counters were in fact full, but they were small counters. Ditto on the case. Second, what's up with keeping the soups and salads in to go containers? Can your counter servers not whip up a salad really quick? I've worked food service for years, and I can tell you I've been required to wait on a 20+ person line, pour a pint, make a latte, and create a fresh salad. Also, I ordered a soup which I thought was one, and got a bowl of split pea that looked nothing like the soup labelled in the case. A joint as fancy and modern as Noisette should definitely keep their soups in a separate area, with only a handwritten sign indicating what the soup du jour is. So, meh, A for effort, but don't believe the hype. read more

The bostock pastry is divine. The coconut cream pie is stunning. The lamb sandwich is hearty yet nuanced. Everything I've had is delicious (better than Sweet Life, I'd say), and I like the open, airy space with natural light. The kicker for me, though, is that they have a bar-height table by the window that I can use as a standing desk... Surprisingly hard to find at coffee shops in Eugene. I just love Noisette! My initial experience almost five years ago wasn't good, but it was based on a mistake I made. I want to set the record straight. I love their dinners with carefully selected seasonal items. The wine selection is great, and the service is excellent. Their pastries are truly French in style and have no peer in this city. There are several other bakeries, but for me, the goods are too sweet and don't have the artisan experience that is offered at Noisette. I love the proprietors who are helpful, friendly and very knowledgeable. I love the sandwiches which are served on the best bread for miles, the salads of beets and cheese, and the smoke trout with potato salad. It's a great place for coffee, tea, wine, and people watching. I give it an A plus. Don't forget the fabulous cakes! read more

Noisette blows Sweet Life out of the water when it comes to desserts and pastries. And the baguettes, amazing! The mozzarella tomato sandwich (on the amazing baguette), scrumptious! Minus one star because they close at 7, often times right when I'm wanting to head in for a glass of wine and a sweet treat. Other favorites: the goat cheese biscuit, the eclair, and when they do the hazelnut crust cheesecake cupcake thing. Also awesome how they do pre order for Holiday favorites.
