Although they were closed, the place was very serene and the flowers and autumn decorations outside made it extremely whimsical. The next day, (Monday) I ventured back to check them out. They give a 10% Discount for seniors so my mother's truffle was on sale. They also had strawberry cheesecake on sale for 50% off as the truffle of the week. I essentially got a BOGO for free with the discounts. I think it was a little amount - about $4.25 for two truffles. The strawberry cheesecake one was large and served cold, much more delicious than I thought it would be. They have a variety of chocolate gifts and a great place to shop for a gift basket pick me up for a student or anyone worthy of a celebration. I really enjoyed stopping in. This is definitely a stop I would recommend to others.

If the atmosphere were less sterile, we perhaps would have tried some other items. The ice cream looked decadent but we didn't feel the need to linger. Ah well. Then, for years it was one of two places I both wanted to go to and take people to experience each time I visited. Now that I live here again, I strangely only get delivery. However, even saying the name brings on a childish grin (and possibly happy tears) to my eyes! It doesn't hurt that their key lime tart is my favorite dessert not called sorbet of all time. Oh, yes, they also have sorbet, and while it isn't on Wanderlust's level, I don't care. The earl grey filling was nice, smooth and citrusy. The passionfruit chocolate was really cute, kinda had the look of a quail egg shell. The filling was a bit more sour compared to the earl grey one. But in general both chocolates were quite similar. My partner had the zucchini pound cake, and he loved it a lot. I don't know much about Eugene, as we were just passing through on our road trip, but I'd definitely recommend people come here when they visit Eugene.

Because of the mask, we elected to only buy pre-packaged chocolate and nothing fresh, just because we weren't certain how sick the employee was, and I have been sick myself more often lately, and I didn't want to have it happen again. I believe I've also seen their candy at stores like Market of Choice. For a few years this was my go-to place for caramel apples, so I was sad to see them close. They were a great local alternative to something like Rocky Mountain, and their candy and chocolates were better, in my opinion, than the somewhat overrated Euphoria. BTW, Larson's Candy has not been in this location for years but you can call them and they will deliver it to one of several stores in the Eugene/Springfield area; this is what I do. They primarily sell at fairs and festivals. I know they are always at the Lane County Fair in the summer.
