I am not a chocolate lover but do like a really good piece every so often. Always up for a bargain, bought a small box. The chocolate is excellent. I have purchased truffles, bars, buttons, and ice cream bars numerous times from each location during the past seven years. The service has always been courteous and the chocolate delicious. Yesterday I visited the website, then a retail store. After eating a few pieces of a dark chocolate bar with raspberry filling, the taste did not match that of previous purchases. Today after reading the ingredients on two remaining bars--milk chocolate with peanut butter and dark chocolate with sea salt caramel--I was horrified to discover corn syrup, modified corn starch, xantham gum, anhydrous milk fat, hydrogenated oil, and artificial flavors. The only item with less alarming ingredients was a white chocolate snowflake. Of course, white chocolate is not chocolate. Their version contains sugar, cocoa butter, milk, nonfat dry milk, soy lecithin, and vanilla. The bars, previously over two ounces each, now weigh 1.85 oz. At the regular price of $3.79, that is over $30 per pound. The real eye-opener is a six-ounce box of chocolate covered caramels. At $27.99, that works out to over $74.00 per pound! Now I also wonder if their chocolate is lab grown. I don't know, but I do know that I will look for chocolate elsewhere. read more

I've been buying from Euphoria since they first opened. I've always loved their products although the past year or so I've noticed a lot of the chocolate has bloomed, so I don't know if that's due to storage issues or lack of chocolate expertise. It doesn't affect the taste, just the aesthetics. But in the past year I've been to several different locations and I hate to say it but they really need better help. I have purchased multiple boxes of truffles at a time and only been charged for one. This happened twice in one week. Both times I told them so they could charge me the correct amount. There must be so much product going out the door for free. The staff almost always seem to be older women with (hopefully prior) substance abuse issues who are having difficulties remembering even how to ring up orders. It just happened again the other day. It takes forever to get purchases rung up because the staff can't remember what to do even when it was just explained to them over the phone by a supervisor. Interesting collection of everything chocolate EXCEPT hot chocolate drinks. They have hot cocoa powder. I got a box of truffles. There are way too many choices and they all look delicious. I went with the regular flavors of mint, strawberry shortcake, raspberry and peach. I liked all of them but they were a tad too sweet for my taste. I would like to try their wine flavors next time. Got 3 truffles - 2 birthday cake and 1 Oreo. They both had the exact same filling. Just different types of chocolate dipping on the outside. There was no birthday cake on the inside. And no Oreo on the inside of the other one. And they were $4 per truffle. You can't just add rainbow sprinkles and call something birthday cake... Expensive and disappointing. read more

It's located in the Oakway Center (right around the corner from Pottery Barn). It's a great name and you'll have that feeling of great happiness after trying their small batch, hand-crafted chocolates! Some of their flavors are unique. Several truffles are flavored with Oregon centric wine & beers: Syrah, Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris & Port were in the case on my visit. Wine not your thing? They also had beer truffles such as IPA, Hefeweizen & Stout. If you're not feeling adventurous, more traditional chocolates are also offered. They also offer hand dipped vanilla ice cream and frozen bananas. You can choose one topping to roll the chocolate in such as almonds, toasted coconut, cookie crumbs & toffee bits (among others). I came into this store on a Wednesday afternoon. The associate named Chelsea was finishing up with a transaction. After the guest left. I continued to look around for gifts to bring home for my kids. She never once greeted me. It was extremely AWKWARD!!! I was looking in the chocolate cases and still after minutes of being in front of her. No eye contact, no smiles, NOTHING!!! I ended up asking her a question. I purchased some chocolates for my kids, BUT never again would I go to this chocolate shoppe. Chelsea was having a bad day or didn't want to help me. The chocolates here were good, but far too expensive. I stopped in while doing some shopping, and tried a few of the truffles. I tried the dark Oregon mint, dark amaretto, dark cardamom, and dark ginger. The mint was my favorite, and the cardamom was a close second, both of which had strong, wonderful flavors. I didn't really taste the amaretto or the ginger, so they were disappointing, but the big truffles were 2.75 each, and the smaller ones were 1.75 each. Definitely not worth the price, especially with See's candies right across the street. read more

Euphoria is a Eugene institution since 1980, and they've made quality products for a very long time. They have also contributed generously to the community. It surprises me, though, that they largely disregard folks who don't do dairy, whether it be for health or ethical reasons. Currently, the few non-dairy options are quite plain. A Google search for vegan truffles turns up many shops, including chocolatiers in other Oregon cities. I wish Euphoria would take a step in this direction, adding several interesting vegan truffles to their line. Obtaining an alternative to the cream from cows would be easy, whether it be coconut, cashew, oat, almond or soy based. Sure, it would take some time to perfect the recipes, but the reward would be a flock of new customers. read more

You can buy truffles, but if you want them in a box vs piling them in a paper bag, it will cost you at least an extra 1.50. I bought 6 truffles and was charged 1.50 and .80 for boxes. This seems ridiculous when purchasing candy that is premium price to begin with. This wasn't explained before or during the purchase, only after I later called to question the charges. There is a thing called customer service and putting your truffles in a box should be part of the service. Decent candy is not exclusive to Euphoria and I'll buy mine elsewhere next time. read more

I am absolutely shocked that no one has yet rated this fabulous store! I stumbled upon Euphoria while I was doing some retail therapy and I am so glad I did! Euphoria is located in the beautiful Oakway shopping center. The store is filled with delicious chocolate delicacies including malt balls (peanut butter!), chocolate covered espresso beans, and AMAZING truffles (the Oreo is my absolute favorite). The store is neat and items are easy to find. They have a wide variety of chocolates to choose from. The staff are super friendly, helpful, and knowledgable about the chocolates. The best part? Euphoria is local! Their factory is located in West Eugene... Like I didn't need another reason to support this company! I walk by Euphoria nearly every day, but finally decided to stop in during the holidays to pick up a few last minute gifts. Euphoria is truly a sweet local shop whose delicious chocolates and truffles have become something quite special here in Oregon. I picked up some holiday themed truffle boxes for out of town family, and decided that I DEFINITELY needed to try a few for myself....you know, just to make sure they were okay. They have quite the selection of milk, dark, and white chocolates, chocolates infused with local beer, wines, and liquors, ice cream dipped in their chocolate, chocolate bars, and the list goes on. If you live in the area and have never been to Euphoria Chocolates than you might need to reassess your life. It's one of Oregon's treasures. While I've liked everything I ever tried from there the truffles are by far the best. My recommendations are Oregon mint, hazelnut, and double dark chocolate truffles. read more

I dream about Euphoria Chocolate. They have the most flavorful and decadent chocolates in this shop that would make any chocoholic swoon over. The large front counter contains beautifully crafted chocolates consisting of your classic dark, milk and white chocolates while also having whiskey, beer and wine infused chocolates for those over 21 years old! I tried the mint milk chocolate truffle and the whiskey dark chocolate truffle. Both were velvety smooth and made me wish I had a whole box. The whiskey one had a faint aftertaste of whiskey and was perfectly flavored. We purchased some chocolates for our friends for Christmas and they really enjoyed them. This is a great place to get gifts for others or treat your sweet tooth. While they aren't cheap chocolates, they are definitely worth the money and you can tell that they take pride in what they are making. They have ice cream that they dip in chocolate right there in the store and the little kid inside of me cannot wait until I go back for one of those! read more
