Peanut Butter Snickerdoodle butterscotch Chocolate Chip
Brian F.

Not sure why I didn't Yelp this one first. It was right across the street from where I was at and it was 12:45 so I was hungry. I thought I'd stop by and grab some cookies and support a small business. I wish I would've read reviews first as I hate bad customer service. But I can also overlook it if they have an incredible product. This place had terrible customer service AND a bad product. Older lady behind the counter was crazy unfriendly and acted like I was an inconvenience even though I bought a dozen cookies. And she was clearly angry that I asked for two separate boxes. I'm still not sure how she was planning to fit that many cookies into one medium sized pizza box, especially with the toppings on some of the cookies. As for the cookies themselves, I tried three and took the rest to a customer. The snickerdoodle and peanut butter were so dry I drank water with them to choke them down. The butterscotch chocolate chip was the only edible one and I still didn't finish any of them. Super disappointing place.

Yes I know I'm weird. But this cookie is straight outta one of my sweet dreams.

Do you ever dance a little bit in your chair while you eat? I do, when the food is really tasty. I'm doing it right now actually. I'm eating a turkey and cheese sandwich on a fluffy croissant, a bag of lays, a Pepsi, and a bomb chocolate chip cookie. For all 4 items, I paid less than 7 dollars. Price point is incredible here. A comparably sized meal from McDonald's would probably cost more. And this is homemade! Let's break down every delicious detail of the food I've just been served. The cookie- literally a perfect chocolate chip. It's thin, and gooey. When you break a piece off, the chocolate strings out in an almost erotic way. Food porn. I'm eating out front of her shop and the chocolate is glistening in the sunlight like a unicorn. I'm entranced. The sandwich- she makes a better sandwich than my mama! Please don't repeat that to my mother(she makes a fine one too). I work in the same plaza, and I'm tired of fast food. Which is all the other nearby options I have if I wake up late and don't pack my own lunch. This sandwich is served on a light, fluffy croissant, packed with turkey and cheese, and it's got fresh lettuce(not even lame old iceberg, I mean good lettuce like buttercrunch or something), and tomato. She puts on the perfect amount of mayonnaise; not too much, but I can still taste it. And it's served warm. And I can just TASTE the love she pours into her food. Have you ever tasted food cooked with love? There's no way to describe it, other than it's completely magical. Last but not least, the service. I saw a couple complaints on here about the baker's customer service. But honestly, I think her mildly surly tone is part of the charm. I love her personality. She reminds me of my crazy aunt who says she hates children, but always snuck me sweets and little presents when I was a kid. She's hilarious, and her personality is great. Honestly, she's never been even a tad bit rude to me, but if she was I'd still keep coming. She's got a heart of gold. When I had no cash for a cookie once, she just gave it to me for free because she didn't want a charge from my Visa card. I am a pretty regular customer, and I've spent a lot of my tips at her establishment. I can't imagine she'd give any old Tom, Dick, or Harry a free cookie(I'm special). But she's earned my business for life. The little things she does, whether it's the taste of love in her food, or her kindness when I'm having a bad day at work, really make me think I'd love to be blood related to the cookie lady. Anyways this turned out to be a really long review. Go to Cookies Cookies. This hole in the wall is guaranteed to put a smile on your face. 10/10 would recommend.

While we were on the wait list for dinner across the street at Gianni's we decided to walk around…read moreand take a look at the other stores in the area here by the UO campus. I had the intentions just to browse until I saw their cheese cake brownie. I had no idea what Gianni's had on their dessert menu and I didn't care to wait and find out. I chose that before we went to eat, and we had dinner I dug in and it was love at first bite. Since I'm not a coffee drinker I never step into small cafes on my own or look around to check out pastries, but I'm glad I made the exception here.

Sweet Life Petite is the mini-version of the original Sweet Life. This one's located on Campus…read more(well, not technically on campus but like right by campus). It is indeed pretty small; there's an "in" door and an "out" door so and since the line can form pretty quickly. They're pretty fast though, so even if the line is close to the door (which it was once when I visited) you'll still be out within about 10 minutes or fewer. One of my favorite things from Sweet Life are their morning pastries--specifically, their cinnamon roll and the lemon cream bun. Both are amazing, and whilst the cinnamon roll is my personal favorite, if you have to choose get the lemon cream bun. It's different from something you've tried before; you can't get one of these everywhere and it's amazing. Their tiramisu is good too, and the some of their other cakes. Check out their specials--there's always something good to choose from. This location has no dedicated parking, just a few spots on the street (shared with Prince Puckler's, the pizza place, and other businesses around). There's a lot of outdoor seating, nice for warm summer evenings.

The ice cream here is so creamy and full of natural flavor. In my ice cream, you can taste the fresh vanilla, bananas and the super gooey caramel sauce. Yum!

There are certain places that don't just serve food they serve time itself. Prince Puckler's Ice…read moreCream is one of those places. I'll never forget my grand adventures here as a teenager. We're talking early 80s... a whole different world. You had folks still hanging on to the 70s like it owed them money bell-bottoms, wild personalities, and people that were just downright funny without even trying. I swear, half the entertainment wasn't even the ice cream, it was just sitting there watching humanity stroll by in all its glory. But let's not get it twisted the ice cream absolutely hits the spot. This is that soul food for the student grind. When studying runs too long, when the day's been rough, when the Oregon heat sneaks up on you, or when you just need a little reset... this is the place. Scoop after scoop, flavor after flavor, it never lets you down. And being right there by the University of Oregon? Come on. There's just something about grabbing a cone on campus that feels right. Timeless. Like it belongs there. Customer service has always been solid, the vibe is iconic, and the whole place carries this charm that refuses to fade. Some things change over the years... this place just keeps being exactly what it should be. Five stars. Always has been. Go Ducks !!
