They give a 10% Discount for seniors so my mother's truffle was on sale. They also had strawberry cheesecake on sale for 50% off as the truffle of the week. I essentially got a BOGO for free with the discounts. I think it was a little amount - about $4.25 for two truffles. The strawberry cheesecake one was large and served cold, much more delicious than I thought it would be. They have a variety of chocolate gifts and a great place to shop for a gift basket pick me up for a student or anyone worthy of a celebration. I really enjoyed stopping in. This is definitely a stop I would recommend to others.

They're clearly focused on the demographic, tourists of Eugene, parents and students of UO - we were both. Service on the other hand is lacking. There was no friendly greeting we've grown accustomed to from the locals even far from closing time. Going along with other reviews, we felt we were a hindrance rather than welcome guests to the store. We spent all of about 10 minutes looking and purchasing. If the atmosphere were less sterile, we perhaps would have tried some other items. The ice cream looked decadent but we didn't feel the need to linger. Ah well. We'll try another small business for Eugene gifts to take back to the office.

The marionberry chocolate had good flavor, very berry like. But I didn't like the chocolate outside too much, just the inside, because it didn't taste terribly cocoa-y. I didn't much care for the coffee flavored (truffle?) chocolate- they were labeled chocolates but filled like truffles. They were also enormous. Since I wasn't in love, I didn't try the other two, but that should give you a decent idea of my opinion of the taste. Still points for options, friendliness, and variety!

Sweet Life, to me, is like coming home…read more While growing up, we'd come here after pretty much anything positive to celebrate. Then, for years it was one of two places I both wanted to go to and take people to experience each time I visited. Now that I live here again, I strangely only get delivery. However, even saying the name brings on a childish grin (and possibly happy tears) to my eyes! It doesn't hurt that their key lime tart is my favorite dessert not called sorbet of all time. Oh, yes, they also have sorbet, and while it isn't on Wanderlust's level, I don't care. They execute every single thing with a level of precision and care that you just don't see often, and somehow do it in a way that feels welcoming! Thank you, Sweet Life, thank you.

I got the tiramisu and two pieces of chocolate. The tiramisu was a bit different from the ones made with ladyfingers. I think this one was made with chiffon cake instead, so the texture was a little bit dry for my liking. The flavor was good though, more on the chocolate side. I liked the earl grey chocolate, but man, I couldn't stand the little yellow dots on it. They reminded me of those little eggs from some insect that lays eggs on your clothes in the summer. The earl grey filling was nice, smooth and citrusy. The passionfruit chocolate was really cute, kinda had the look of a quail egg shell. The filling was a bit more sour compared to the earl grey one. But in general both chocolates were quite similar. My partner had the zucchini pound cake, and he loved it a lot. I don't know much about Eugene, as we were just passing through on our road trip, but I'd definitely recommend people come here when they visit Eugene.

She was wearing a mask, so I presume she wasn't feeling good. She was friendly when we checked out, but the mask made it difficult to hear and understand her, so we had to ask for clarification a couple of times. Because of the mask, we elected to only buy pre-packaged chocolate and nothing fresh, just because we weren't certain how sick the employee was, and I have been sick myself more often lately, and I didn't want to have it happen again. The store is small but always clean and easy to navigate. Would I return? Yes. We've been coming to this location for a number of years, and will continue to do so. It's a nice location that isn't out of the way. Review 15 of 2025
