This place is relatively new and took over the old Central Coast Café off of Traffic way. I was really excited to hear about a new sushi restaurant in Atascadero. I will say the food was delicious, but the quantity of what you get for the high price was not worth it. We spent close to $50 on a a few small plates and were still hungry after lunch. Maybe this will be a nice sushi date night when restaurants are back open but the prices were steep for a takeout lunch. read more

Oh. My. God. This sushi was DELICIOUS. They don't have a lot of novelty rolls because they are NOT MESSING AROUND. The quality of the fish is outstanding. I am huge fan of traditional Japanese sushi. My husband and I were the first customers on the day Goshi opened in Paso. Before Goshi opened in Paso, we dined regularly at Tsurugi in San Luis. We even used to dine at Sushi 101, which was Goshi's original restaurant in L.A. The one dish that can only be enjoyed at these restaurants is their tataki. If you like sashimi, you have to have the tataki. The sauce is unlike any other restaurant. It's got the usual ponzu flavor, but it's also smoky with a balance of garlic and ginger. Nogi owner Chef Hiro came from Tsurugi and Sushi 101 and he knows the recipe. Atascadero is so lucky to have this expert, traditional Japanese restaurant. Besides the tataki, all the other fish we had was super fresh. The rice is perfectly flavored and the texture is spot on. The seating is very limited currently and even when they do open indoors, expect it to be in high demand, so plan ahead and be patient. read more

So I ordered the 6 piece nigiri and shrimp tempura for lunch 43$ completely wasted money on this place. The nigiri was warm, fish not fresh and rice over seasoned and hard. How do screw up a shrimp tempura roll??? It was so disgusting that I could only eat two pieces and then just tossed it. The place is too small and never had seats but today I ordered to go because the hostess pointed out no seats. However there were two guys who asked to have there food to go because it was taking so long which freed up a table and the host did not even offer me the table. This has been a regular occurrence and I am beginning to feel like this restaurant only wants to seat a certain type inside if you know what I mean.... will never recommend or return to this place service bad, food bad and I feel discriminated against. read more

This is hands down the best sushi place I have been to in all of SLO county and it's 5 minutes away from my home right here in Atascadero! We've only been able to get takeout so far because of the pandemic but I can't wait to dine in here. The food is fantastic, and they put SO much attention to detail in their carry out orders. Each sauce and garnish is packed separately, and even my unagi don was served in this great little plastic nesting bowl that kept the rice and unagi/sauce separate.
