I am very disappointed with how this store treats people. My daughter's boyfriend applied many times, and I even spoke with staff, but they only gave him hope and never scheduled an interview. It seems the store manager and assistant manager do not care about people and are not kind. I used to shop there regularly, but I will no longer support this store. I will recommend that my friends and others shop elsewhere. Also, the produce quality has been poor. Several times I bought fruits and vegetables that spoiled within two days and had to throw them away. I hope the company takes customer concerns seriously and improves both the quality of the products and the way people are treated. read more

Vons has become better than it was when I first moved up here. More Organic, more non gmo, and adding self checkouts. The problem is like many have mentioned, missing ceiling panels and seeing many with water damage, just make it look so trashy. This is the main big name grocery in Atascadero. Santa Margarita, Creston, and Templeton don't even have one. Renovate this store corporate and get more higher end product. Your missing on a growing area. read more

Well this will be my second review of this Vons grocery store. And unbelievable that the issue I had was with the carts yet again. It was a rainy day yesterday and I walked up to the store and absolutely no carts. Again I asked like the last time, "where are your carts". And the girl says nothing to me but has to have guidance to ask her supposed manager what to do about the carts. Hallo, go gather some. And the manager seemed uninterested that a "customer" wanted something. All the while being ignored. Wow just wow. Grocery prices so high, it shouldn't cost to get noticed and have good service. On Wednesday, March 23rd I ordered their regular All Meat Deli sandwich at the counter. The girl was working 2 jobs, 1 at the salads & sliced meats and the other side of deli sandwiches & hot food, her co-worker was in the back frying chicken. It was 11:15 am and figured get it now before the lunch crowd comes in. I was next as she was at the meat/salad side. Looking over my options of the add-ons I noticed the metal bins of meat, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles, olive, etc. quite low hoping they had back-up in the below refrigerator and not wanting to cross contaminate. When she came over I ordered my sandwich and was told she had to slice some meat. I told her what I wanted on my sandwich and I was going to pick up a few things since she had to slice. I said to the guy next to me "lunch time is almost here" then thinking to myself 'should already been done since lunch is here and be prepared'. After returning, the sandwich was ready and the guy had left. Upon arriving home the sandwich was not cut in half. Totally forgetting about this was fine as I can cut it in half and eat the other half later and had pickles & cheese at home which was left off. Just a note to tell them IF you want it cut in half. I would of waited, but since the meat was not sliced yet I didn't know if she was going to cut everything each for the whole shift. There is 4 meats on this sandwich. All in all, such a great sandwich to order. read more

Vons is a large grocery chain. The store has most anything you would be looking for in a grocery store.

This Vons needs an upgrade and a facelift!!!Vons in Atascadero is the only major grocery store that services four surrounding towns. It is the dirtiest grocery store I have ever seen. The floors are always dirty. I've heard checkers talking amongst themselves, stating that some of their computers that they work with in the checkout need an upgrade and are very slow. I've been to other Vons and Safeways in other areas and they are so clean you look forward to going grocery shopping. Our communities deserve a clean upgraded grocery store. read more

Nice store and pleasant to shop at. Lance is definitely one of the hardest working employees I've observed, and always goes out of his way to help customers and is always friendly, pleasant and courteous. The epitome of a perfect employee . I particularly appreciate how he will personally escort me to what I am looking for- I'm hearing impaired and often have difficulty hearing directions, so I appreciate the extra effort, makes me feel was less frustrated and embarrassed . Give Lance a hefty raise!! The pretty blonde lady (can't remember her name) in the liquor department is a sweetheart and always so helpful and has a cheerful and positive personality. The lovely gal in the produce department is always a pleasure. The lady who makes the sushi is awesome! Best spicy tuna roll in town-better than local restaurants Steve the checker is always really nice and pleasant also, and always nice to interact with. I appreciate how he and Lance are clean cut handsome gentlemen. The Pandemic is scary y'all, but Vons has a smooth running pick-up service that makes grocery shopping just that much easier right now. Downloading the Vons pick-up&delivery app was very easy. Using the app was even easier. It had everything I needed right at my finger tips. Minimum for pickup is $30, after your Vons card is used. They have 6 parking spots available right near the front left entrance and all you have to do is call the number on the sign and open your trunk. I've gone a couple of times through pick-up and it's always been smooth sailing. The woman who delivers your food is incredibly kind and prompt. It's been the same employee for us twice and she'll always ask if you'd like your groceries in the backseat or trunk. I like that there is an option, but trunk feels the safest. There are a few things to note about using pick-ups with Vons: - The minimum for pickup is $30 AFTER savings. Maybe it was just me, but I wasn't expecting that. I ended up getting a bit more than I bargained for, but it's all good. - Always, always click yes for substitutions on popular items. I thought surely Vons will have their deli sliced turkey, they always do. I was wrong and ended up with no lunch meat upon pickup. Had I clicked substitutions I would have been given an alternative similar to that brand instead of nothing. - Carts generally tend to pile up in the assigned parking area. I don't know why people can't just put their carts in the corral. That's the responsible thing to do! It makes parking a little difficult and I've run into twice it now. With how hard the Vons employees have worked during this pandemic, the least we can all do is put our carts in the corral. - General wait-time after calling in a pick-up is anywhere between 7-10 minutes. read more

I love the products at bobs and the ability to do curbside pickup . However I have decided to finally write a review , which I don't do to often. I waited to write this to make sure that it was a consistent problem and it has been the same every single time I have used the curbside services. Not once have I waited under 30 minutes after checking in on the app. I get to about 20-30 minutes then I call in. Idk if something is wrong with the app ? Or if the service just takes that long for curbside. After I call into the store it usually takes about another 10 minutes. I will have to see if not using the app and just calling changes anything or not . However it really sucks waiting for so long . read more

Bad customer service. Employees are rude and ignore customers. The only reason they stay in business is because there are no other grocery stores nearby to compete. The deli sandwich maker is never at the deli, the asian girl preparing the food refused to help customers, looks at me and says no she wont attend the deli that she's standing behind and she said she will not call her employees for service. Welfont is definitely one of the nicest stores in town. They have updated their interior in the last year, and this includes some updates to the shelving and the addition of Starbucks. How you take everything being a little cleaner in a little room here, had in the hot soup, head in the sandwich bar, had in the deli counter, had in the bakery and the cakes and all of that stuff including Bagels of course, tie this up with the great meat counter it always seems to have really nice prices, then go over to the fruits and vegetables and find exactly what you're looking for, then come around to the flowers, some lottery tickets oh, and I just noticed today there is a DMV kiosk. One sure seems to me like it has everything you could want. Lots of stuff here as with any big chain. Organization leaves a bit to be desired. Many things just seem to be in random places or in multiple places. When I went searching for my favorite BBQ rub I found that they have spices in 4 different places in the store. Finally found it in an end cap display. Pretty good produce but the meat/seafood counter just doesn't smell very good. COVID-19 protections are in place but seem a bit weak. A sign at the door says no entry without a mask but I saw at least 10 customers walking around unmasked. Aisles are marked on the floor as one-way but no one seems to be pointing that out to the customers when they don't look down prior to entry. On the plus side they have controls to avoid customers bunching up in line to check out. I go when I have to. read more

The Atown Von's has a 'Customer Service' desk open from 8:00am-8:00pm. I came in to return glass milk bottles from a local dairy as part of a program they have with Von's that gives $2 per bottle (great program!). This was at 11:00am and I asked the girl if I she was open (there's a big sign with the hours right in front so I knew she was) and she tells me I'll need to go through the checkout line. It's obvious she wants to continue her convo over cookies with her co-worker who was on a break. SO, I get in one of the heavy traffic checkout lines in between families trying to buy food. I spot a manager and ask him if I should be able to do my returns at the CS desk and he says "you should be" and I explain the interaction I just had and he says "oh sorry about that" in a nice way but then turns away and carries on with stocking shelves. Not exactly sure what the purpose of your "Customer Service" desk is but maybe make a sign of what you CAN do there or consider changing the title. Thanks for the help. read more

I called Vons Bakery & asked for something VERY specific -in a short time frame. She delivered a "cupcake cake" that was worth double the $30 I paid. I received nothing by compliments on them, which leaves me even more impressed. She did a fantastic job! And the cupcakes were perfect. The people behind the counter at the deli area are always in a horrible mood. The worst customer service throughout the store. I wanted a sandwich made today and the girl behind the counter acted like it was really inconvenient that I ordered a sandwich with bacon on it. Other times, if I'm just getting deli meat or chicken, the people act like they hate their jobs and talk about their personal lives with their coworkers behind the counter. (Not that you can't talk to your coworker about your personal life. But in front of a customer is pretty rude). But, Nick was my cashier and he was very friendly! I shop Safeway enough to know that Vons' prices are not going to be low, but if you shop carefully and load your card with store specials, you can often save money.
