Veggie rolls were crunchy and delicious. Pho was not so delicious. We both got vegetarian Pho which came with an odd assortment of veggies. Onions, carrots, broccoli, cabbage and..... tomatoes? I am in town for business so I picked Nisa Thai based on yelp reviews. I was not disappointed with my decision. I placed a delivery order and it arrived earlier than the expected time. The fish cakes were spicy enough and fried tofu were not soggy. The pad see eaw was delicious and such a huge portion! The condensation from the plastic cover made it a little soggy but that's to be expected in a delivery order. The sweet sticky rice reminds me of how my mom makes it so that was tasty as well. Last but not least I am so glad that the Thai Ice Coffee was just as tasty. Sometimes some places make it too bitter without enough milk but Nisa Thai did it just right. Really good Thai with a lot of flavor. Dishes that indicated spicy actually WERE spicy! Usually they come "American hot" for our sensitive palates, and I hope Nisa doesn't adjust for that. I like some spice. I ordered cashew chicken and my partner ordered basil chicken; both were very flavorful and in portions that were well worth the price. The curry puff appetizer is unlike anything I've had before and is complimented very nicely by a slightly sweet cucumber sauce. The rice is pretty standard, but since it's what goes ON the rice that's important, it was no worry. Delivery took longer than expected, but to be fair I probably am at the very edge of their radius; I hope as they remain open they'll be able to get some faster delivery going. I've always had such an amazing experience here at Nisa Thai. The place is small, but it won't feel like it, since it's very cozy. The workers are very nice, friendly, and always make sure you have what you need and are satisfied! My favorite is the combination pho, but I've also had the red curry with beef and drunken noodles here before (also great!). The foods always have a lot of flavor and are never dull. I could die for their avocado boba. It is the perfect consistency of thiccness to quench your thirst on a hot day. The boba itself is the right amount squishiness, so I wish they would put a little more. Their pad see ew is seasoned super well and yummy too. read more

I'm so sad that I have to give a poor review, but we unfortunately had a really bad delivery experience. On the Nisa Thai website, they provide a link to order your delivery online through Eat Street. As a millennial, I of course chose the ordering option that involved the least amount of human interaction and proceeded to place my order for 1 order of fresh rolls, 1 chicken pad Thai, and 1 pork pad Thai. After my order was submitted, the Eat Street app showed a 90 minute wait time. I felt like that seemed long, but my husband had finally agreed to Thai food and I had seen such good reviews that I decided to stick it out. The order was placed at 7:26pm. By 9 pm we still did not have our food. I called the restaurant and they informed me that they had received the order, but had forgotten to put it in. They said it would be another 50-60 minute wait. I said that wasn't really okay and to their credit, they were able to get the food to us by 9:30. Unfortunately, the food was cold and they gave us two chicken pad thais. I've included a picture where you can see that one of the pad thais said "ch. pad Thai" and someone just wrote "pork" over the "ch." Furthermore, the "pork" pad Thai was missing its lime wedge (which is my favorite part!!). Overall, it was a really disappointing experience. Due to the nature of the app ordering, I had already elected to give an 18% tip but I desperately wish I could take that back. read more

I waited for my delivery order since 7:47PM. I did not receive my order until 9:55PM after calling them four times. It shouldn't take over two hours to deliver food. The manager was also out. I don't know if there was anyone in charge. I spoke to the driver about this complaint. You would think that if this restaurant valued customer service, a refund would've been issued. However, they profusely refused to refund. Terrible service. Pretty unfortunate because their food is great. If I had not called them, I don't think I would have received my order. read more

We loved everything we ordered from Nisa Thai (usually through Eat Street) - crispy spring rolls were delicious, pad see ew was on point (why is this such a hard dish for richmond thai restaurants?), pad thai was fantastic, and all the curries we tried were good. Just received my delivery order. Amazing! My food is still hot and the order came quicker than I expected. Fresh and delicious! The delivery guy was wearing a mask and gloves. He was friendly and professional. I can't say enough about the experience and quality of the food. I love this place! This is the best Thai restaurant in town. It's a little pricier than some other Thai restaurants but it's worth it! I usually come for dinner for get pad see ew and total comes to $12 or so. I've also tried their pad thai which is delicious as well but I prefer my pad see ew more. I've talked to the owner a few times while waiting for my takeout orders and he's super friendly and easy to carry a conversation with. Let me start by saying I've had better for cheaper. I bought Basil Fried Rice during lunch time and it cost me $12 because apparently getting egg in it cost extra which I've never heard of and she didn't tell me until I asked why it was so expensive if the lunch portion is listed as $9. I asked for low oil and when I got the rice, it was SUPER oily like the oil is coating my mouth right now which I'm not happy about at all. It didn't really have that fresh Thai feel although it took a while for them to cook it. I heard this was a great Thai spot, but Thai Top Ten takes the cake hands down. And, they added a little something extra for her, which I much appreciate (as did she!!). Love this place for their pad Thai. It's affordable and a large portion!!! I love the way that make it also. Their Panang curry is the right amount of spicy, sweet, and savory. Everything but their potatoes were undercooked and their beef chewy and stiff. It was a busy night for take out but that should not affect the quality of their food. Their sushi is reasonably priced but there's cheaper sushi and just as good quality. Their pad Thai is the best in downtown Richmond in my opinion. read more

I get mild and find it to be really really spicy but i'm also kind of wimpy to hot foods. I've gotten different sushi rolls too and all have been great. I really enjoyed this small hidden place. I can't wait to try again. Very UN-assuming. Parking may be a challenge, but u are on a campus so big deal. I had Tom Kha soup and yellow beef curry. Both nice. The soup could use more lemon grass or something, but not bad at all. I want to try the crispy fish next time. The best is that they deliver, so we can order fro the hospital some time. We ordered for delivery from this place. The delivery took 30 minutes which isn't that bad. The food was awesome. We ordered Basil Fried rice with chicken and drunken noodles with veggie and tofu. For the price, the quantity was good. Definitely got 3 meals out of two dishes. We did ask the owner to add eggs to our fried rice, and while he said Yes on phone, I suppose he forgot to tell the chef the message. The spices were on spot with right amount of spice level. Definitely recommend this place and will order again soon. Only wish again would be the person who takes order delivers the message to chef regarding the special instructions. Couldn't be more pleased! Tried them for the first time tonight for delivery. We got tofu red curry, mackerel nigiri, a California roll, calamari, and beef pad thai. Everything is pristine. Curry was ordered as spicy/hot and isn't very hot, but other than that, I have no complaints. read more

I am reviewing their vegetarian options. My wife and I have ordered 3 times from them. First off I want to say their delivery gets an A. They have their own drivers instead of using Zoomer. The food arrives quickly and it arrives hot. Their miso soup is a a bit saltier than I am used to. Their deep fried tofu appetizer is good. Wish they used more seasoning though. Their freshly made spring rolls are excellent. Request that they leave it in plastic wrap otherwise the pieces stick together. My wife likes the pad thai with tofu and I get the fried rice with tofu. The portion size is large. Get two meals with each dish. I would consider it one step up from fast food. Worth the price and delivery is excellent. read more

I ordered the food for delivery at 8:43PM and received it at 10:35PM. YES IT TOOK ALMOST 2 HOURS. When I called back to check where my food is, they said they left 10~15 minutes ago at 9:50 but the food still didn't come. I called back AGAIN at 10:25 and they said it would take 20 minutes to get to my house. I live 2 min drive, 7 min walk from the restaurant so I don't know why it would take 2 hours for them to cook and deliver the food. After receiving the food, I realized they messed up our order which was another negative. I ordered chicken pad thai, beef pad see eaw, and eel roll. When we ordered, we specifically told them the number and the name of the food from their website, but they still messed it up and brought us eel nigiri instead of eel roll. I called them back but they didn't do anything about it. The taste of food was alright and the portion was not as big as how I have imagined from reading other reviews. I was excited to try a new thai place because the reviews were so good but am super disappointed and frustrated how I wasted so much time waiting for food and didn't get the food I ordered. Looked for a good Thai place after going to Penzy Spices. Very glad to have found good Thai food here. Excellent Thai tea. Had some good crispy spring rolls and the a medium spicy beef Pad Thai with added tofu. Spicy was a perfect balance and the Thai tea was great with it.
