The pineapple fried rice was also good, but there was an overwhelming amount of cilantro, and despite requesting spice, it came with no heat at all. The spring rolls were nicely crispy, though they could definitely do without the lettuce lining the bottom of the container, as it caused the wrappers to become soggy. Overall, the food was good, but it would have been better if soy sauce had been included in the bag and if the spice request had actually been honored. This time I ordered the drunken noodles ($17) with duck (+$4) with a spice level 2 and it came out in about 20 minutes. I was definitely much smaller compared to the last time I was here.. I remember last time it was about two full servings and this time it felt like just one size serving. The flavor was also not as good as i last remembered. The duck was also just ok. I'm not sure exactly how the squid was prepared, but it was tender, flavorful, and just delicious. The Phunket Noodle dish was the real showstopper--shrimp, salmon, and scallops all in one plate. The salmon and shrimp were grilled to perfection, and while the scallops could've used a touch more sear, the overall flavor harmony of seafood and Thai spices completely hit the spot. The server who was handling take out disappeared into the back for 5 or 10 minutes at a stretch with no update when she came out. I saw 3 delivery drivers give up and leave. In the first 25 minutes only 1 take order came out of the kitchen. They said the kitchen was really busy. The restaurant seating was maybe 75% full. Food kept coming out for the tables, so I suspect they were prioritizing in house diners. If your takeout is going to take an hour, then tell me that. Nuclear Hawaiian was fruity which I liked but I didn't think it had the right amount of alcohol in it. Calamari for appetizer could use some more flavor. Crab meat fried rice and soft shell pad thai were alright. They were not that flavorful. Our seats were a little far from the table (thr seats are fixed, little higher, and not adjustable). My group ordered several meals to try from, I ordered the Penang curry at medium spice level with their Thai tea martini. The curry was the perfect temperature and the portion was decent. I will note - spice wise - was the same as the mild so if you like heat, I would order up! The atmosphere was great, the patio seating was lovely, and our waitress provided excellent service. We enjoyed our drinks, with Mimi having a White Lady cocktail (5/5) and me opting for Riesling (4/5). I ordered the Pad Prick with fried chicken ($2 upcharge) at level 3, which was tasty but not spicy, rating 3.9/5. We had such a lovely experience here, I really cannot wait to go back. We came at a busy lunch hour on a weekend, and were seated within minutes. The service was so friendly and fast, I've never had a Thai tea come so quickly! The food was all excellent. We had a curry and a few pad Thais at the table, and everything had just excellent seasoning and spice. I love that you can customize the spice levels of (some) dishes from 1-5, and the 3 was the perfect little hint of heat! I also appreciate the spice rack/tower you can ask for at the table, a great way to mix things up or share across different preferences. It's interesting because the owners here also own Yaya's Cookbook and I prefer Yaya's. I'm only noting this because I like their Khao soi at Yaya's more (for the noodles and crunchy noodles on top). Their drunken noodles here are pretty good too. I'd highly recommend ordering the chef's special lamb chop drunken noodle. The flavors are really tasty in that dish. They have some really fun drinks here too, like a tiramisu shot or wasabi shot. The shrimp tempura was by far our favorite, the only thing was, it really should've been called veggie tempura with shrimp, as they were only 4 shrimp in it, and a ton of vegetables. The chicken wings were delicious, I usually always order that when I come. The fresh spring rolls were a little disappointing, they didn't have enough filling in the inside, and they were wrapped very loosely, so they were falling apart. Great local Thai spot. I was suggested this place by a local, and couldn't be more happy about it. The service was great, the food was tasty, the vibe was perfect, and the prices were on point. We stayed with the dumplings, and they were awesome. From there I had stir fry and my buddy had a noodle dish. Everything was cooked exactly as it should be, and had amazing flavors. I stumbled across this spot while roaming down Cary Street. It is very cool with a laid back, hipster vibe. It is sizeable with outdoor seating as well. I popped in for a quick bite but ended up ordering several dishes: fried calamari, curry roll, hoy jaw, and drunken noodles with chicken. Of course, I had to get my Thai iced coffee as well. The Fried Calamari was delicious and very well done with a good batter that is well seasoned. It came with sweet chili sauce, which enhanced the flavor even more. I was a bit disappointed with the curry roll as I expected it to be a bit spicy due to the curry with some more flavor. It was good but a bit underwhelming since I was expecting more of a curry taste. The hoy jaw was really tasty and very crispy. It was full of flavor and tasted even better with the dipping sauce. The drunken noodles blew us away! Juicy and spicy with the noodles cooked just right, it was an instant favorite. It is full of flavor and the "sauce" of the noodles made it even better! The Thai iced coffee was decent and was fairly strong. My only issue was the chunks of coconut milk floating around inside the drink. It was a bit weird to drink chunks of coconut milk. I went to Mamas on a Friday night with a group of 5 friends. We were seated in the back by the big windows that face Cary St. the restaurant was mildly busy and we were sat promptly. Ambiance on the inside is great. Lovely decorations and the staff were very friendly. The restaurant near the kitchen in the back where we sat had some kind of smell. It wasn't a horrible smell and I can't place what it was. It wasn't the food and didn't seem like cleaning products, but I forgot about it shortly. Another issue was the table being sticky. An employee overheard us talking about the table and mentioned that during Covid they used a bleach cleaner which stripped the tables, but I suppose were never refinished. Food was great and the kitchen sent it out in an insanely quick. The server and our party were very surprised. I had drunken fried rice with pork at their highest heat level. It was sufficiently hot and appreciated the server being forward about the heat scale. My friends got a chicken drunken noodle, pork drunken noodle and a pad prik. I can't recall what the final person got, but everyone seemed to have enjoyed their meals. Between us regarding drinks we got two 24 once PBRs. They taste like PBR, but are a large size. Per ounce you're better off going with the smaller one. We didn't notice that till we ordered. Maybe they should sell the PBRs at an equal price per ounce. We also got a Rum Punch which was in a fun cup and tasted great. Overall I would recommend stopping by Momma Siams and checking out some delicious food. We ordered the chicken satay, fresh rolls with tofu and steamed Siam dumplings for the table. Apps came out in less than 10 mins from ordering, piping hot and delicious!!! When ordering entrees our waitress shared a recommendation, the curry rolls, and they were out of this world delicious! Served with a sweet plum dipping sauce that we wanted to buy!!
