This cute bakery nestled in the heart of DC was everything I look for in a cafe. My go-to order at cafes is a decaf cappuccino and a croissant. Here they had oat milk, which I opted for. The staff were friendly yet efficient. They had a pistachio croissant that I had seen pictures of on other reviews, so I decided to try it. I took my cappuccino and pistachio croissant outside to one of their three small tables (they did have minimal indoor seating but it was quite cramped inside). That was one of the best croissants I've ever tasted. The outside was buttery and flaky. The inside was slightly chewy and filled with a rich pistachio cream. Divine. The cappuccino was delicious as well -- well worth coming back for just that, let alone the heavenly pastry. 100000/10, definitely come check this place out!

Best butter croissant I have found in DC so far. I am so happy I have finally found the one! It is perfect. Crunchy, flakey, super soft and many buttery layers. This is an absolute treat. The place is very small and the staff were quite pleasant. They knew the morning I was going to have after my croissant. Thank you endlessly. I will be back.

This place kept coming up in my search results when I was attending a convention. The reviews said their gluten free pastries were good so I decided to give it a try. They do have a sign saying there could be cross contamination, so be aware if you have extreme allergies. The bakery has the ambience of a local hot spot and although there isn't much seating inside, they have a cute outdoor area. They have pictures of dogs on the wall which gives it a welcoming feel. I ordered the pistachio cookies, the only gluten free option and they were excellent - soft and chewy on the inside. The service was efficient and the people working were kind and friendly. I ordered house made vanilla syrup in my latte and you can tell they use good ingredients. Overall, I would definitely come back.

My friend was going on and on about ninos and brought me: Everything croissant - 10/10 - I didn't eat this right away and ending up reheating in the following morning for breakfast. I split it in half, scooped the cream cheese out and put in the air fryer for 3mins at 325. Can I cuss real quick ? B?!)H ! ! This is easily top 5 things I've tried this year. It was crunchy but flaky, slightly sweet but bitter and rich with the cream cheese. It was truly just a dream and something I thought about for the rest of the day. I reviewed their menu and have already told my friend I need to try the pistachio, chocolate and tiramisu croissants as well. If I lived within 20mins of this place they'd have to wheel me away like the Mayor of Sardine town (IYKYK).

Finally made it to Nino's Bakery! The pistachio croissant is heaven - best so far in the city. The chocolate hazelnut croissant looked so good and the man behind me snagged the last one around 10:20am on a Wednesday. Latte was good, but nothing incredible. They have a card for buy 9 coffee drinks get the 10th free if you're local. Tough hours if you don't work downtown, but you can pre-order! No parking. Tight space so no inside seating but they have a few outside tables. Super nice employees, too! Excited to come back and try their seasonal flavors!

This downtown bakery is small, and I stopped in when I had the chance because of the limited schedule. There were a couple of outdoor tables. My single pastry was perhaps overly packaged. Having said that, if the question is whether my chocolate hazelnut croissant could have been any fluffier, any flakier, or any more delicious, the answer is no.

Really liked the black sesame croissant- lots of delicious filling inside. We got some others for our family members to try who raved about the pistachio croissant and they said all of the other ones were delicious as well! There was a bit of a line on Saturday morning but it went pretty quickly.

I love supporting small local businesses so when I heard about Ninos I got excited. I like to think of myself of a viennoiserie connoisseur so when I saw that Ninos made their offerings from scratch I had to stop by. I decided to indulge in their pistachio croissant (4/5), chocolate hazelnut (3/5), and their sfogliatelle (3/5). I would come back for the pistachio croissant alone as not many places offer it, however the sfogliatelle filling was off for me and I was disappointed that the chocolate used Nutella (as I would've preferred a home made drizzle and less sweet if possible). FYI: this is a very small bakery with only two tables so plan to enjoy your indulgences on the go.

Went at 10 on a Tuesday and they were already sold out of maybe half their stuff which was a shame but ended up with the blueberry scone, black sesame croissant, and chocolate Hershey chocolate cookie type thing. While the scone was super fluffy it was entire flavorless, completely. The sesame croissant on the other hand was surprisingly delicious subtle and buttery and really enjoyable. The cookie was also good, used a darker more bitter chocolate and a larger grain almond flour/meal which led to it being a more rustic taste which was cool, enjoyable but not sure I'd get it again.

As a baker myself, I was so so impressed by nearly all of the pastries I tried here!!! It is very clear that all the staff are incredibly talented. From the perfectly laminated pastries to the vibrant unique flavors everything was delicious, and most importantly, not to sweet :). So glad I got to sneak in a visit before work! What I tried: - Fruit Danish: SO GOOD. Set a really high bar for the rest of the pastries; the natural sweetness from the berries perfectly complemented the tangy cream filling. - Black sesame almond croissant: Usually not a fan of black sesame but WOW. The nutty gooey filling just worked so well w the flakey pastry. -Pistachio croissant: Yummy, however not as pistachio forward as I was expecting. Would get again though - Mocha swirl croissant (limited edition): Subtle mocha flavor & great ratio of cream to pastry. - Sfogliatelle: Beatiful! However, I couldn't really taste the cinnamon or candied orange & found the filling to be a bit gritty. - Gruyère and Zaatar croissant: Loved this savory take. Thought the zaatar would be overwhelming but it complemented the cheese. - Hazelnut Kiss: Small bite for someone who doesn't want a whole pastry but wasn't my favorite. - Pistachio Sicilian cookie (GF): great gluten free option! Could really taste the pistachio here.

I went around 9:45am Tuesday and they had a fresh batch of pistachio croissants. I got one and it was quite good since it was so fresh, but the pistachio cream leaked out. I found myself scraping up the leaked cream with the pastry parts to try to get more pistachio flavor. The chocolate hazelnut croissant's pastry was room temp and not very flavorful. I assume it has to be cooled down for the Nutella not to melt off, but you might as well put some Nutella on bread. The financier looked like it was chocolate flavored so I got it as a chocoholic, but the chocolate flavor was faint and the raspberry topping overpowered it completely if it was also in a bite. Overall pretty good, I would go again if I lived nearby, but I wouldn't go out of my way. Prices seem pre-inflation, like only $5.25-5.75 for the fancier croissants. That's somewhat normal but I guess I expected more expensive since it's a specialty place. They're definitely worth the cost, just maybe not the distance if you live far away.

Next level croissants!! I had the chocolate, almond, and pistachio, don't judge. They were all truly amazing, so flaky, soft, and buttery!! I can see why they sell out and are rated so high. I got there right before closing and I was lucky they had anything and they made a couple more pistachio while I was they. Nice servers and cute little bakery.

I have heard absolutely legendary things about Nino's Bakery, but have found it impossible to get there with the hours. I finally was able to swing it one Saturday, but unfortunately I was too late to try the croissants. I had the blueberry scone, which was so flaky and light. I sometimes find scones too heavy or claggy but this scone was incredible. The cream puffs are also freshly filled, and they were generous with the custard, though I think a flavored custards would've been better.

We went for a late Thursday breakfast (~9:30) and were able to find some seating but they were at 90%+ capacity. We crammed our group of four into a spot normally meant for 2-3 people. Seating is at a premium as there are people using the restaurant as a place to work out of because they serve coffee. It's a bit of an odd dynamic since people need to sit to eat and sometimes tables are occupied by laptops instead of dining patrons. The food: Lamb Meatball Shakshuka - I had the regular Shakshuka the first time visiting, since I wanted to try the original. Stewed tomatoes with eggs served with toast. I think the lamb is a nice upgrade since the meat cuts the acidity of the tomato, and there is just a lot of tomato. Strawberry & Raspberry Cheesecake Cup - this delivers exactly what I would want for a cheesecake in a cup. Cheesecake is in the middle of for texture between fluffy and very dense cheesecake. Sesame Latte - an interesting drink fusion - coffee with black sesame. I think this is fairly well balanced with it tasting a little like black sesame and a little like coffee. Pistachio and Ham & Cheese Croissants - we asked these to be heated prior to eating. I thought they were slightly crusty on the outside, inside was soft without much structure (a little flat). They were ok and I liked the Pistachio one better. Overall, a solid, clean and modern place to get a beverage or meal. They offer some unique items to make things interesting.

I genuinely think social media has us all in a chokehold--one place goes viral and suddenly perfectly good spots nearby are just... ignored. Thankfully, I have zero FOMO, so I pivoted and walked into this place instead. Best decision. It was busy--don't get me wrong--but in a normal, "weekend brunch rush" kind of way. Not the "wait an hour to prove a point to Instagram" kind of chaos. We grabbed a cold brew, a pain suisse, and a croque monsieur. Everything was reasonably priced, and more importantly, everything looked (and tasted) ridiculously good. The backyard? Genuinely stunning. The kind of aesthetic that people think they're getting in those viral spots. We grabbed a couple of chairs, soaked it all in, and ended up having a really beautiful, relaxed brunch. They've got water stations, the staff is happy to walk you through the menu if you need it--just an overall easy, pleasant experience. Honestly, unless your main goal is to tell people you went to the Georgetown hotspot of the week, skip the hype and come here.
