Broke Piano and run ! We used Ninja Movers on 12/19/2021 from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm PST. There were 3 people who moved our furniture from east bay to south san jose. We had an upright Yamaha Piano that paid $150 extra to move it. After paying movers in total, I noticed the sustaining pedal is damaged and movers put a plastic wrap under the pedal to hold it ! During the last 30-60 minute of their service, I noticed they are in rush to leave and I had no idea why. When they left, I found the reason. They broke the sustaining pedal and scape without telling us any word ! We were so nice with movers, even bought them free lunch and tipped them pretty fairly. But, unfortunately they were dishonest and left us with a damaged Piano without disclosing it. This is really unresentful, embarrassing and unacceptable. This was my fifth cross-country move, and the third time I hired movers, however this was different. The first time I hired movers, I received a recommendation from a friend at the U.S. Department of State in Washington, D.C. when I moved to San Francisco. Given diplomats move all the time, the company I hired was trustworthy. The second time, my company paid for the relocation and hired the movers. This time, I was trusting exclusively on Yelp. I called and spoke to Angie in customer service, who seemed annoyed, but got the job done. Jay was more friendly. And Monica - who told me she'd been with the company for 11 years - was great. Maor conducted the in-home estimate for me and coordinate logistics. He was very friendly, and we had an enjoyable conversation, but he made me nervous with his powers of persuasion, given he was formerly a Landmark Forum facilitator. Though he explained to me their timelines and the associated costs to get my items to me in Texas, it was challenging, given my items required an 18-wheeler, yet I only had a 1-BR apartment, not a whole house, so I had to wait for two other 1-BRs to join me on the 18-wheeler. At times it was confusing to coordinate all these details with Maor, so I was appreciative when Dan, the owner/brother of the owner stepped in to help me expedite the arrival of my belongings, ahead of schedule. I changed the timeline once I was in Texas, waiting for my items to arrive. David (Golan) was the foreman in San Jose. Gerardo and Dennis were the packers. In only a few hours, the three-man crew packed up my entire 1-BR apartment, and now that I've unpacked here in Texas, I'm happy to report that all my moving boxes made it, and none of my items broke! This is astounding, given I trusted Dennis to even pack my British step-grandmother's WWII Nazi bomb surviving bone china family heirlooms from England, Germany, & Japan. I also appreciated that all of my wardrobe boxes were pointed facing out, so I could easily unload clothing into my new closet. And the movers who transported my items from California to Texas en route to NYC even arrived early! I would definitely hire and trust Ninja Movers with future movers, and recommend them to friends in California. Moving is a pain in the ass!! I had a traumatic experience a few years ago with movers when didn't show up. They didn't even call! And when I called them, they were like, "Uhhh,....sorry." So I frantically had to call another mover to get my things out by the end of the day. In the end, I was able to book someone reliable. Whew! The movers who saved me before were great, but I wanted to try a different company this time. I searched on Yelp, and after 89399089 responses, I booked Ninja Movers. Monica emailed me a form with an estimate that looked professional and legit. Well, I hoped and prayed... Monica told me the night before that they were coming around 7:30 am, but I told her I couldn't get my keys til 10. Which was also the time I had to log on Zoom for my class. (Oh and I was reminded about the class two nights before. Ugggh.) Moving. 3-hour Zoom class. Excited 7-year old. It was a hectic day!!! Three guys with masks came around 9ish- Joseph, Anthony, and Pavi. I'm glad they arrived before my class so I could give them directions. I also ran out of boxes, and didn't get to pack a bunch of things. Luckily they had complimentary boxes and were able to pack my stuff. I think they start charging after ten boxes, but I only needed 2-3 from them cuz my fambam gave me a bunch. I was a little apprehensive about them putting fragile stuff in one long box, it's like they just dumped everything in there. But surprisingly nothing broke. Not even a chip on the plate, bowls, and glasses. I was relieved the plates had at least bubble wrap. When I talked to Monica I told her I only wanted the movers for three hours. I didn't want to pay more than that. The movers were able to move all the big furniture and most of our stuff in about three hours or more. I thought it was a little longer, but they were true to their word. They charged me three hours + deposit. Edit 1: Heidi just called me and assured me they would call piano repair people and "do everything they could to make it right." I'll keep this post updated with what happens next. --- I've moved A LOT - 10+ times in the last 10 years. Sadly this was the worst moving experience I've ever had. It started with a great sales experience from Jay. He was smooth-talking and assured me that my stuff would arrive in 5-7 days from pickup and that they were professionals who knew how to handle long-distance piano moves (charged an extra $150 for the piano). The movers showed up at my house and were extremely rude. They added a bunch of extra money to my invoice (used a wardrobe box to store a bunch of small things, then charged me $24 for the box and another $25ish for a crate, which I never saw). They were really bad at explaining all the extra charges and also upcharged me for an extra 300 lbs over the 2,000lbs that were included WITHOUT EVEN WEIGHING THE TRUCK. I called the office multiple times to try and get Jay back on the phone, to no avail. The office told me that instead of the 5-7 days from pickup, it would arrive 10-14 business days after the first available delivery date (e.g. I expected my stuff on Jan 16 and it could have not arrived until early Feb). That was really different than I was anticipating and I was disappointed at the bait and switch of timelines. I started to buy things anticipating my stuff would not arrive for a long time. Suddenly the stuff showed up a week after pickup (after I had already been prepared to wait a long time and had bought a bunch of replacement stuff). They subcontracted a company to unload the truck. The subcontracted company, Dynamics Movers, were incredibly professional, kind, and helpful. They moved the piano up a flight of stairs with zero complaint and pointed out to me how POORLY everything had been packed in the truck. The packing crew (different from the unloading crew) had dumped a ton of boxes ON TOP OF MY PIANO LEGS and it completely split the wood on both of the legs, making the piano unusable. They also snapped off two of the piano pedals, making it unplayable. I am devastated since I inherited this piano and it's 40+ years old and was in really great condition until this move. In addition to that, they broke a box that had all my wedding dishes in it and clearly just wrapped tape around it instead of checking the contents, letting me know, or putting it in another box for the long drive to LA. I suspect that the contents would have been totally fine if they had just taken a moment to put that box into another one. The box had "FRAGILE" written all over it and I told them to be especially careful with it. Now I'm missing things I'll never be able to get back. I am SO SAD and can't get them to even call me back right now, they're always "out to lunch" whenever I want to talk to someone. Whewwwww.. Where shall I begin? Moving sucks for the most part, but the end result is usually worth the headache. Called ninja movers to help me relocate locally. First let's talk about Monica who provided me excellent customer service with moving delays on my closing during the holidays. Every time we spoke she was of assistance. Fast forward to move day.. I damn near had a meltdown with all the emotions I had going on about moving in general (oh & it was raining = emo). Hussef, Rueben, and Ron were the triple threat I needed to calm my nerves. Contract was for 3 movers. They sent 2 and a really sick dude who could barely lift anything. It seemed like he was running a fever and really weak. He couldnt carry the weight of a dresser so he put it down before his partner was ready and broke the leg off... right in front of me. The head guy told me he was sorry. He should have not let that guy carry the heavy stuff becuase he knew he was sick. He wrote in the notes that it was their fault that the dresser broke, and he would have someone call me. When I called the headquarters the following day, they said they wasnt anything they could do since I didnt buy insurance, and conveniently everytime I asked for a manager there wasnt one in the office that day. Went back and forth for a while with the generic customer service email address. That person on the generic email wasnt helpful, empathetic or reasonable, and didnt sign the emails becuase they didnt want to be called out. Finally, after I had already given up, a real person got ahold of me. She reached out to me and listened and understood the issue. She took responsibility for both the unnamed emailer and the workers. One less star becuase of the unnamed emailer then the fact that it took 2 months to resolve. read more

Was a stressful move and got charged 66% more than the quoted price. I was quoted $420 and was ultimately charged $700. Mover was also unprofessional and yelled at me in front of the front desk who then called me to verify my safety. Mover went through a clearly marked emergency exit which caused the building alarm to go off. HOA charged me $250 for this violation. Never again. Don't do it. read more

If I could give them NEGATIVE stars I would. If you choose not to read my long-winded post just leave with this - SAVE YOURSELF THE HEADACHE. This company is AWFUL. Read ALL the reviews. Don't rush when choosing a mover and definitely find someone else... Very unprofessional owner to start but I'll get back to that. I had a full-service move from SoCal to NorCal. 1) Paid for packing - it took them 12 hours - it became a joke. These guys stuffed papers upon papers into oversized large boxes and barely marked what they were packing. They were acting like it was a chore instead of a job. Cost for pre-packing - not worth the headache and stress. I will never do that again. I will ALWAYS pack myself. They even spilled bleach on my air fryer (which I had to discard) because of their insane job of sealing bleach. Seriously, how difficult is it to seal a cap with tape? And forget about insurance - that's another racket I learned about very quickly in my move. 2) Completely not in line with what they quoted (not even close - buy they enjoy and even get a kick out of your desperation and trap you)- granted I did have a lot of heavy items but the point is they WAY underquoted on purpose, to get you to commit. It's a racket - I don't have a problem paying for good service and I was expecting it to be more - but this was entrapment. I wish I went with Northstar - not sure how their service is with moving but at least they offered to do a zoom review of our stuff. Foolish me for getting suckered by the sales guy. Lesson learned don't try to save money cause you meet sharks like these folks. 3) Absolutely the worst attitude - The guys working the move were kind enough when they arrived and then as time passed, they got greedy. They knew how their boss was going to react so they started creating scenarios. They started telling us stories about how their boss made some past customers cry after the price changed once items were already in the truck. It's was a shameful way to put you in the corner and feel helpless while in the middle of a stressful situation. They even said "take care of us" and we won't tell the boss about the "extra" distance we had to walk. Seriously? Extortion. 4) And then there was their boss or owner. Just felt like I was speaking to Mr. Despicable. His tone was condescending, assuming I didn't have the money when the price went up (200%). Never "assume" my dude - Money was not the issue as my company was paying for the move but giving even one penny to ungrateful and arrogant souls who get a kick out of watching people squirm is painful, to say the least. Hopefully, there is a special place in hell for this gent. 5) Delivery - you have to take what they give you date and time-wise which they give you a two-week window. Oh, and you better believe you'll be nice to them at the moment. They're holding your stuff hostage. They are not communicative and the drop-off crew didn't even show up to the right location and tried to say they were waiting too long when in fact they were just not following instructions. Honestly, there is more heartache in this awful experience but I will stop here as I am sure you get the point. And it took me three months to write this review because I wanted to make sure I wasn't speaking from emotion. I really hope I can save someone from making the horrible mistake we made and trusting this awful company. Good luck with your move. Don't use NINJA MOVERS - they also falsely use a third party company in SoCal and lie about it (I saw the logo and questioned it - the extortionist's movers also said they were a contracted extension. They showed up on time and were very friendly, however when I began to unpack things I started noticing damages to our furniture. They were very careless while moving the furniture down the stairs and broke a few things (broke a leg off a dresser, scratching walls, breaking off of a piece of the mantle, the fence, and top of the blinds) out of the place we were moving. Had a great experience with the sales representative Jay, but there was a serious disconnect between that and the service of the team that showed up on the day of our move. They failed to meet basic moving standards of wrapping furniture and treating us professionally. One of the team members that was working with David behaved totally inappropriately, berating and flipping us off. A shockingly bad experience, and we had to cancel the move half an hour after the team arrived. The operations team was apologetic and refunded us our deposit completely, but we were left on the day of our move without an acceptable moving team. Ours was not a standard move and we explained to them in advance. We wanted them to pack our stuff in boxes and take them to fedex for shipping. Right from the beginning, there were signs they were not suitable for this job, yet they wanted our business. I regret giving them a chance. They are very rigid in ways not suitable for this kind of a move. First, they did not have boxes larger than 24*18*18. I had to buy my own u-haul extra large size boxes: fedex cross-country shipping rates are not much different for larger sizes: so it makes sense to pick larger boxes. I asked them if they can bring u-haul extra large size for me but they declined. Those boxes didn't easily fit in my sedan and I had to make multiple trips to get 20 u-haul extra large boxes. Then, they showed up without bubble wrap. I had to make another trip to buy them bubble wrap. They came in and said "they are professional movers" and would do things their own way. I told them to ensure that each box should have less than 70lb in it: told them to put clothes and blankets as fillers to fill boxes with heavy items so that the total weight of the box does not become too high. They said they are "professional movers" and they would go from room to room and not jump between rooms to get clothes from other rooms. They also said they would not measure the boxes on a scale. So, at 2 hours, I told them I don't want their services because they wont do things they way I need to get done. They told me that they would take the 3 hour minimum anyway. So I let them work for 3 hours. Worst of all, after they dropped the boxes at FedEx and the FedEx guy was done weight the boxes, some of the boxes where already opening up (insufficient tapes) and they FedEx employees had to spend 15 minutes re-taping all the boxes: this is a mistake not expected from anyone who calls themselves a processional. In summary, if you want them to pack stuff into boxes for FedEx delivery, run away from them. I have done such a move before (NY to CA) and a random guy I got from Craigslist did a much better job than these "professionals": all boxes were delivered by FeDex undamaged with contents intact and the fedex guy did not had to put additional tape when picking up. read more

Upon checking around quotes through yelp, Ninja Movers were not the best in price. But I went with them because Jay made me feel like we would have the best experience. On the day of the move. ONLY 2 movers showed up when there was suppose to be 3. NO phone call prior to coming. Just "oops" someone called out sick. THIS IS NOT OK. Then promised to look around for a 3rd mover that never came. AND I had to call back to check on the status. They adjusted the rate from $150 an hour to $130. A whole $20 discount per hour. This is a NOT proper adjustment. I called and tried to have Jay help me with the problem. Only to be promised they'd adjust the final bill accordingly and be fair. (They lied again) Then instead of following through he transferred me to someone else. I am saddened by my experience with Ninja Movers. This is not a professional moving company. I truly hope that NO one else will have to go through what I did. A blatant SCAM. In the end they took of an additional $40. Are you kidding with me?????! Two stars because the 2 actual movers worked hard. Also, the yelp discount offer does NOT work. It doesn't allow you to check out. Jay told me "oh yeah, you're not the only one that has brought that to my attention. We will have IT look into it." I cannot say enough good things about Alan, Edgar and Geraldo. They worked incredibly hard and fast and had amazing attitudes the entire time. Fast, professional, super hard working. Arrived on time, we had a LOT of stuff in two bedroom apartment. They didn't bat an eye. They just got right to it from the minute they arrived. I cannot say enough good things. I am so happy that we went with Ninja movers. I did my homework. I got 5 estimates, 4 in person and Ninja was incredibly well priced. I couldn't not go with them. I was worried about choosing a company that charged less but I read reviews and most people seemed happy so long as they moved locally. I was blown away. People who came to appraise my apartment said it would take 8 hours or more. They did it in 6 hours. And both apartments were full of stairs and elevators and long walks. These guys were amazing. On top of that they put all the boxes in the right rooms, assembled our big and bulky beds, and were friendly and professional the whole time. I felt bad asking people to do so much work but they were just so wonderful about it. Hard working, thorough, careful, neat! Agh! I'm soooooooooooooo happy I chose ninja movers!!!!! I also spoke with the office staff several times and asked lots of questions about what to expect and how to pack and they were so generous with their time and answers. I haven't even unpacked yet but I feel like I just I really really chose well and I'm so thrilled. My husband was reluctant to hire movers but even he was impressed by their work ethic and how much they accomplished so quickly. I would call ninja movers again in a heartbeat. UPDATE: The Ninja customer service team reached out to me and was great to work with. They refunded me for the time they took to go back and get my forgotten couch and a little extra to cover my damaged items. I really appreciate their efforts to rectify these issues. I've added back a star because for the most part this was a positive experience. I hope you'll give them a chance and don't use my experience as Bible. There are plenty of excellent reviews for this group. The moving crew were all very nice and strong. They even went back when they misunderstood my instructions about my old couch. But they dropped large furniture items scuffing them up and they broke my barbecue - which has been moved at least 5 times before this move with no issue - I am disappointed in the care of my items and I'm disappointed that I was charged for the extra hour when they had to turn around and go back for my couch. I'm reviewing a years old move, which was led by Barak. Our experience with Ninja Movers could have been better and we were mostly pissed off by the dishonest behavior. We had hired Ninja Movers to move out, store our goods for four weeks and move them in a new place. Moving out was ok apart from the fact that Ninja estimated the size of needed truck incorrectly and they had to go empty the car once and then come back. First bad sign: Barak proposed this was our fault when booking the move. Obviously this took another 6 hours of our time and it was very late when complete. Moving in to new place after storage had the following issues: - movers brought in also goods that were not ours. Seemingly they had no idea whose stuff they were carrying. - movers broke a piano stand, Barak promised to bring in a new one which never happened - movers dropped and broke my sauna wall elements in front of me without saying a word about this - movers had lost some of our goods but Barak never completed the claim or visited us for details as promised - movers took our new U-haul dolly and Barak promised to return it, which never happened. Ninja movers are more like wizards because they magically made all my stuff fit in a pod. I was 100% convinced all my stuff wouldn't fit, but they figured it out! Pick-up: 5/5 Joseph, Ron, and (I forgot the third individual's name) were all professional, friendly, and efficient. They made the process easy. One surprise was how forms were printed, on paper. It's not something you expect this day and age, but I guess it worked. A concern I had was when they loudly read my credit card information, over the phone. Lowering their voice would've been less nerve wracking. Communication (leading up to delivery): 2/5 Since they picked up my stuff, I didn't get any confirmation call or any email of when to next hear back. I had to proactively call them to ask about the status over the course of a few weeks. It was ironic how they were so prompt and responsive about the quote emails--not so much once I got in the middle of the process. Delivery (dispatcher/partner, NOT Ninja Movers): 1/5 Delpro.org was the company that reached out to me about my delivery. tl;dr: my point of contact miscommunicated. She was confusing, uncaring, rude, and disrespectful. So was the entire team. I'll be leaving an in-depth review on their page of my experience while it's fresh in my mind. Stressful, anxiety-inducing, and disrespectful are the three words I'd use to describe Delpro's customer service and business. I wonder if Ninja Movers can find another company / partner on the east coast. Thanks to Heidi, I was able to navigate this confusing situation because of Delpro and feel less stressed. The driver and mover, Andre, was professional, friendly, and swift with the delivery. I was so thankful that I wanted to tip him, but he wouldn't take it. Bless his good heart. I with everyone got their deliveries from someone like Andre! Overall: 4/5 Nothing was missing. A few boxes were bent, scratched, and smooshed. Nothing unexpected. SHADY, DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. THEY STOLE MULTPLE PAIRS OF VERY EXPENSIVE PRESCRIPTION NAME BRAND SUNGLASSES FROM ONE OF OUR TV STANDS. Called the manager and they said that they "couldn't locate those belongings" even though we called them within a few hours of the delivery. Reason they couldn't find the stuff was because they stole it. Shady AF and Im in process of starting small claims court with arbitration. Also the manager who said his name was Ash has a diff name on hid voicemail and never followed up after talking with him once. CANNOT TRUST THIS MOVING SERVICE. read more

I recently hired Ninja Movers to help me move from SF to Menlo Park. I had 3 movers (Alex + 2 others, I wish I could remember their names!!). They arrived right on time at 9am, with all of the packing materials, and they got to work! They packaged up all of my fragile stuff, took great care to disassemble and reassemble my furniture, have careful attention to small details - asking me how to arrange my son's new room, etc. They were prompt & professional, and their price was reasonable considering how stress-free my experience was. This was the first time we signed a job with Ninja Movers after looking at great 4 star reviews. We signed the job after talking to Jay who confirmed that the job will start between 8-10am, the next day i.e. just a day before the move, one of the team member called back and said that the job will now start at 11am because they have another priority job (so i was not priority). I called Jay again and asked him why would this happen to me and he said i should not worry because the other job was a very small job and they will start asap around 11am. I had already declined all other quotes and because i was left with no other option i asked Jay to go ahead. Day of moving: The team arrived at 1pm and looked very tired already. They said we have a lot of stuff and i do agree that i might have missed a few items like blankets and some chairs in my original discussion. The guys asked me that i will have to call 4 people if i had to do it today and doubled my price from $140 per hour to $240 per hour. With all this drama i refused the service because it just dint go well from the start. Ninja movers decided to keep my security deposit of $140 saying it was all my fault. read more

Alan, Edgar, and Gerardo were fantastic - super professional and efficient. They made quick work of my move and helped put everything back together on the other end. They even put up with my rambunctious puppy who thought the whole thing was playtime. My only reason for not rating this five stars is that I requested an afternoon move a week in advance when making my reservation. Jay acted like that would be no problem but did say something about dispatch but didn't make it seem like it should be an issue. He said they would call to confirm the day before. When they called they had me scheduled for 7-9am and told me if I wanted to have them come at a specific time I would have to pay $135 extra but still the latest would have been 11.30. I had made arrangements with work to take off the afternoon plus it impacted my travel arrangements to and from work so this was frustrating to me. Yesterday we hired Ninja Movers to move us into our apartment which was located on the 3rd floor of our building! It was so nice to have them there to help! Not only did they wrap everything up with blankets to keep it up being damaged but they were soooo fast! We had the help of Ramon, David and Gabriel and they were very efficient. They helped us with everything from breaking things down to quickly setting things up. They even helped us to unload our personal car. It was really nice to have them help because it would have taken us forever to get everything all the way up to the third floor. I will definitely use the ninja movers moving service in the future. Don't be deceived by their high star rating on yelp! I was deceived by their 4.5 star rating on yelp and my experience with them was one of the worse experience I've ever had. I had a horrible experience with Ninja Movers and posted a negative HONEST review on Yelp. The owner called me the next day requesting that I remove my bad review in exchange for removing all these hidden extra charges. He called me several times asking me to remove my yelp post and change my star rating till I did. However, upon further investigation and as I was unpacking, I discovered that they left my furnitures chipped and broken and failed to mention it to me. They chipped a corner off my dining table which was a very expensive piece. Also my lamp's leg was broken. My bookshelf fell off when I picked it up. I learned a VERY expensive and frustrating lesson....don't trust Yelp review when it comes to movers and go with the word of mouth. read more
