I did a local move in Fremont and it was pretty smooth going for the most part. The two guys Manuel and Sebastian were really nice. They charge minimum 3 hours, as well as some "double time" for driving - check with them for full details. I had a small move so I wasn't worried about going over the 3 hours but if there is a long drive, there might be some extra minutes tacked onto your final bill. The beginning paperwork felt kind of rushed - They would say things like yeah everyone just signs here, everyone just puts this down - but maybe that's not the case for everyone! I think my move was pretty straight forward and I didn't have any excessively valuable but for others, this may be a point of concern. They also stopped in the middle for a drink. They don't charge you for that time but I thought it was a bit odd that they had a small pit stop! The guys wrapped all of my furniture (except for the lamps and nightstand) in cloth blankets. They also provided some (rather beat up) wardrobe boxes that were great for stashing clothes and blankets. The move went smoothly. They try to be as efficient as possible and use the dolly to move the majority of the items. The movers are much faster than a ragtag group of friends that's for sure. If I had to move again, I would call on Ninja Movers. read more

I hired Ninja movers to move my belongings on 1/30/2021. I had very few options since I needed to move in a hurry. I do not recommend using Ninja Movers. When the movers arrived it took them 40 minutes for them to start moving my furniture and boxes. The movers were disputing the amount of items that I requested to move. I explained in detail the items in my 2 bedroom townhouse to the sales representative named Jay. The supervising mover wanted me to speak with the Ninja customer service person on his cell phone. I had to explain the situation to the representative. He finally decided to move forward with the move. The supervising mover was upset at the decision. He said that "ninja mover always does this to him." He also told me to make sure that I take care of his movers after this is all done. Obvious he meant that I should tip them generously. His team did do a good job. The supervisor was lazy. I guess he was still upset. The quoted price was $480 for 3 movers, truck, 3 hours. It took them 1 hour and 40 min to load and 1 hour and 20 to unload. I ended up getting charged for the 40 min I spent explaining the confusion over the list of items to move. Add the fee for double driving and the total hours equaled 4. The moving supervisor also added $150 for packing materials. Total cost $790. I decided to tip the movers $30 each. Except the supervisor. He didn't deserve it because he complained and ordered everyone else around. Obviously he was pissed off about that too. He ignored me after that and as he drove away threw his water bottle out of the window. The same water bottle that I gave to him. Avoid the disrespect. Use another moving company. read more

I called in to get a quote for a move. Was transferred 4 different times before getting to the guy who could give me a quote. 3 of the people asked me the same information regarding the move, type of aprtment and pickup/dropoff zipcode. Was told the company provides a fixed price and that they don't charge by the hour which sounds nice so they can't work slow and run up the charge. Well the final boss I got to advised that they do in fact charge hourly and that they only allow a minimum of 3 guys for the move that are over $200 per hour! which is far above any other quote I got. This company seems to have gotten too big and is less concerned about providing a good service at a reasonable price to the customer and it's resulted in a poor experience from the get go and a waste of my time. Lastly, the quote person literally spent my time asking questions to itemize exactly how many nightstands, chairs, etc. I have. If charging hourly and requiring a minimum of 3 dudes to move the stuff, why do you need to waste my time asking about all the things that will be moved? Unnecessary and wasn't asked the same by any other quotes i've received. They might do a great job, but my review is purely about the quote process and pricing. read more

I have never written a YELP review but needed to for this. So. Slow. Which is quite convenient when charging by the hour. I have moved several times in the past few years. Each time a 45 mile drive. This time I moved literally 3 blocks and the Ninja Mover crew took longer than the previous 2 moves (by HOURS) with the same amount of stuff. They did not have the right equipment (2 tiny rickety dollies vs large bins to carry multiple boxes). They also stated that moving packed bags would cost extra and refused to move 2 cases of wine that were secured in taped up boxes. I was annoyed from the very beginning and continue to fume as I realize how much their slow performance cost me more than $400 more than my previous moves (which again included 1hr drive time). Don't use this company. 2 stars bc one of the 3 guys was pretty friendly. read more

Oh and they put one single wine bottle in a little box and called it AN ITEM. that is how it became 50 items. And the packing was terrible. Most of the boxes were half empty. STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE!!!!! would give zero stars if I can. Horrible company and ridiculous people. They quoted me $2000 for a long distance move and when they came in and packed stuff they asked me $3500. People who came were extremely rude. I hired packing service also. They calculated all small boxes as medium/large boxes and the packing was very bad. Above all when they delivered my stuff after 2 weeks my 60 inch $1000 worth TV is broken in a way that I can not use it anymore. Worst service I have ever experienced. read more

BEWARE: this company has you sign a simple straight forward quote before they arrive and then on moving day they show up with a lengthy and complicated contract that you have basically no choice but to sign. We hired a 3 man crew to move out 2 bed/1 bath from the marina to Potrero hill. David, the crew leader, tried to pressure me to sign for a $1,500 limit and work over 8 hours at 1.5x. We had even moved all our small boxes (over 50 boxes) the day before so it was really just furniture and clothes. I refused to sign for more than 8 hours and $1,000. This is when these guys started moving slow. Of the 3, 1 was always standing around or having a cigarette. I complained and they told me to take it up with the office - which I did. This really set one of the guys off. He was profane and aggressive - telling me I had made a mistake and that if he "wasn't on parole he would f me up." At this point, they had half of my stuff in their truck, a signed contract and my credit card on file. So I decided to manage through it - what else could I do? David then announced to me that they would be closing the truck by noon (they arrived after 9) and that I would have to figure something else out for anything not on the truck. In the end, they quit at the new house after 7 hours on the clock. They left many boxes on my porch and refused to arrange the boxes or furniture as we wanted. As I was paying, the guy who had previously threatened me was ranting and raving in the street - swearing at and threatening passers by. I ended up back at Uhaul with a truck and a couple laborers to finish the move and spent all of the next day arranging things in the new house. After discussing the situation with Ninja and informing them of all the circumstances, they did give me a $300 refund but it isn't nearly enough for the extra cost I incurred or the horrendous experience I had. The move is happening as I write my review. One of the movers was rude. "You can take it yourself" when asked about a mirror. I asked about mattress protector, they asked for 20$$ extra. Ruined my mattress, caught it all on video. The people on the phone also have a bit of an attitude. Absolutely condescending way of talking, borderline humiliation. And this is because I told them it was not okay to ask 100$$ extra for putting a TV in a box, and that I was caught off guard. Apparently I was the one who didnt read the fine print, but I have a choice to risk moving with just the blankets. That's not what the movers said, they just refused to move the TV first, and when they heard me talking to their management, said they will do it and asked to be "taken care of". The "senior" employee basically asked me to carry fragile items in my car because he couldn't guarantee them in one piece. Thieves. Their license has been revoked by California Public Utilities Commission already. Ninja Movers were helping us to pack and move for our relocation 2 days ago. They arrived at around 8a and left 11a. They were clearly instructed with items to pack / move and which ones not to. The items lost were stored in the baby room closet during the move, along with other jewelry and personal items. Ninja Movers packed/moved the crib in baby room, but was instructed not to move anything else. We found out this morning that the items reported were lost from the baby room closet while everything else are still there. So the items couldn't have been packed away by accident. No one else approached the baby room closet between Ninja Movers left and now. It's only possible that the movers stole them. read more

First and most importantly we believe it's highly likely that at least one of their movers stole some of our credit cards and then used them later that same day of the move (we live in a secure building and they were the only ones who had access) They tried to bully us into signing the contract even though we had questions about it. When we asked for clarification, the lead mover refused to answer or call his boss, yelled for a few minutes and then stormed out of our home saying he quit. Eventually the lead mover returned with his boss on the phone, who was also rude. Eventually they did the job, but charged us for the initial hour when they hadn't officially started, and for their hour long lunch break. They did a great job in getting everything wrapped, loaded and unloaded. It was a new home that we were moving into and they were so careful to not scratch the floors or walls. They sent 3 guys to move my stuff and in the end there are several boxes missing. I didn't realize the boxes were missing until we were looking for certain items. What's worse is I do not know exactly what was lost during the move. Also, they wasted the first half-hour on hanging around. They also charged me "double drive" time to the new place. Positive experience overall. Daniel & Geraldo was a team who helped me to move from apartment to a house. Everything done quickly and professionally. One strange thing about process: they don't assign a timeslot for the move until the day before so you don't have scheduling flexibility (my appointment was set for very early hours (8am) on Sunday and I was told about assigned timeslot only mid-Saturday. The scheduler was very helpful (Although he probably should've recommended 3 movers since I was being moved to the third floor!) I requested the moving service based on the Yelp rate trust for 2 bed 1bath townhouse moving from Santa Clara to east bay including one hour driving. But It ended up $960 bill with a broken vanity leg and scratched wooden floor. The broken leg I saw them they drilled the leg secretly, but they didn't say anything to me. They put the vanity up side down when they drilled, so all my cosmetics and stuffs on the draw were mixed and broken. Also, there were moving material charge that I didn't know when I got the pre estimate. I'm not really picky for the service so I feel like.. ok it's good lesson with the high amount of bill, but!!!! I want to let other people know they offer $30 discount on writing review on Yelp right after finishing moving. Means the rating on the yelp can't be trustable. read more
