Now I understand why my daughter has used them twice already and now I've used them to move a recliner sofa and recliner chair from San Carlos to Cupertino. They were SUPERB! Adolfo got back to me right away and committed to a price and time and his guys showed up - wrapped up both pieces so PERFECT and TIGHT. I was worried about how heavy these were but they are so STRONG... they were able to safely bring it out of the San Carlos house and into the Cupertino house safely and pretty easily. Adolfo and his team are amazing! He understood our requirements, and sent a truck which was bigger than needed for our needs. The truck was an enterprise rental, but who cares! Ours was a cross state move (CA to WA) and he took care of all of our worries. We did not have to fret about volume and weight, which most of the national van line type of services were asking us to do. Chewy and Walter came with 2 of their colleagues and watching them pack our stuff was such a joy. They do their job with utmost seriousness and care. We required a FULL Service move, meaning they needed to pack everything from dishes and glasses, clothes. carpet, disassemble and reassemble. They were very efficient on how to load the load as well in order to deploy at new resident. They were so good, they finished under time with great results. One gentlemen pointed out a dish that had a scrap on bottom of dish which we didn't know. Make me feel they took on the job as if it was there own. Friendly guys and tight team! This moving company is the absolute best. I have never had such an amazing experience with movers before. They were able to load up their truck so quickly and get everything unpacked even faster. Both of my apartments were located on the second floor and they had to use stairs, so I know it was a lot of hard work, but they did so well and worked so quickly! We needed to move from our apartment in San Francisco to Union City, with a pickup at a storage garage in the middle. Most moving companies I called had insanely high quotes, either due to the 7th floor apartment we were moving out of, the long distance from the apartment elevator to the loading/unloading zone, the storage stop in the middle, or a high estimate for how many hours the job would take. So, I was a little skeptical when Trans-One said they could do the move at a lower cost and in less time than any of their competitors. But based on the Yelp reviews, I took the plunge and hired Trans-One to do the move. On the day of the move, the movers showed up on time and got to work. They expertly wrapped all of the furniture, quickly moved the items onto the truck, and then efficiently did the reverse when it was time to unload everything. We paid $85 per hour for two guys and a huge truck. I was expecting huge guys who look like our governor to show up, but two petite men showed up, which is completely fine because they were very strong and efficient. They were also polite and professional, and took great care in wrapping our furniture, including our $30 crappy Target bookshelf. Hector, the owner, is very prompt in getting back to us, too. Some tips for moving: * Do as much packing as you can yourself. It's the lifting and moving that most people need help with. * Ideally, place moving boxes in one central location so the movers can just get everything from one place. It adds a lot of time when they have to navigate your house to find other boxes. * Schedule the move on a weekend or early in the morning. traffic = movers sitting on their butts + money out of your butt pocket * Move your fragile or important items yourself. We hired Trans-One to assist with a relocation from the Bay Area to Sacramento. Adolfo provided an estimate prior to the move and was present throughout the process. He used a decent sized crew and two 26 foot trucks to complete the job which started at 8am in the Bay Area and ended after midnight in Sacramento. The crew was extremely professional and never slowed down despite the rain and high volume of work involved. Some items did get damaged--I guess this is somewhat inevitable with a move of this magnitude--but Adolfo took full responsibility and we easily reached an agreement re: how to address this. When Hector came to the house to do his assessment he was very friendly and seemed to be honest. Originally he quoted us $130 an hour for 3 guys. After assessing our house he said that it would be better to have a 4 person moving crew and that would cost $165 an hour or because it would take them at least 8 hours and possibly 10+ hours that we should do the daily rate, which would cost us $1650. He also stated that he would take as many boxes as he could fit. He also said that they would disconnect the washer and dryer and reconnect at our new residence. He said he would unwrap all the furniture and take the debris away instead they stuffed it in our recycling bin when they should have taken it with them. They arrived close to on time. They did a great job of wrapping and protecting our furniture. They worked hard. However, they only put on a few boxes and left lots of unused space where boxes could go. When we pointed out they could put more boxes on the truck, Hector said yes and then did not do it. They ended up being really fast and it took them 6 hours, however, he said it would be a minimum of 8 hours. When we mentioned that to him he smiled like he knew that it was not going to take that long. Then when we asked if he was going to hook up the washer and dryer he said they don't normally do that but he would do it. The dryer vent hose not installed correctly and fell of the dryer. Also, he did not did not connect the washer correctly. Overall, not satisfied. Great job with the furniture but completely feel like we were ripped off and that he knew it was going to take a shorter time than he quoted. He should not have talked us into the daily rate. SHAME ON HIM! We will not be recommending him to anyone. read more

This review is long overdue. Back in April 2017 we used this company for our move. Although we only had a 4bd/3ba house we had collected a ton of stuff over the years. The moving crew was amazing. It was a FULL day event (two trips 15 miles away to and from) and they didn't let up. They were beaten and tired but they still did their best to make sure our things were taken care of and all put in the right rooms before they retired at 10pm. We did have a scuff mark on the dining room table which is why I'm only giving them 4 stars. Extremely friendly and hard working crew. We had our moving scheduled in between the COVID-19 pandemic for a local city to city move from peninsula to east bay. Adolfo replied within minutes of requesting a quote and had a timely communication. We had to reschedule the move a couple of times and Adolfo was very patient and did not charge any fees for rescheduling. :) The moving crew of 3 men came in on time and started packing/wrapping things that were loose and blanketed the furniture for safety. The whole move of 2 beds and a garage full of household stuff took 6 hours of packing and hauling, even though we had packed most of the things into boxes ourselves. I checked out several firms, all pretty much charging about the same, and settled on Hector because he volunteered information about storage facilities, had his own truck (not a rental) has been in business about 7 years and I got a good feeling about him over the phone. He wrapped many objects with a clear shrink wrap, completed the move in 4.5 hours and organized the storage facility to make it easy for me to find objects later. His Guatemalan worker, Edwin, smiled and kept at it until the job was done. Make sure you understand when the job begins and ends and what is and is not included. I had this review typed up and ready to post since March but decided not to after I spoke with Hector. Even though he was only somewhat apologetic after I brought my dissatisfaction to his attention. The reason why I decided to post this review is because every since the movers reassembled my bed, it has been squeaking... well, checked yesterday and found that they decided to not screw in any beam supports holding up the box springs.... "I understand that they and you make more money the longer it takes but 4+ hours to move a one bedroom apartment... that is pretty unacceptable. They would wait for the elevator to go up one floor(empty handed) instead of taking the stairs after they put items in the truck. I packed up everything before they arrived. All they had to move was: 1 king size bed 1 dresser 1 small file cabinet 2 very light night stands 1 2pc couch(very light) 1 coffee table 1 side table 1 tv stand 1 tv 1 small dining set 1 rocker chair 4+ hours to move this 1.5 miles... Oh yeah... and I helped move too. If I didn't help, I think it would have taken another 1.5 hours... maybe more. read more

I once helped a friend move. Let's just say it wasn't fun and I got to see what kind of crud a bachelor had in his former pad (his "smut" coffee table of men's magazines, aka Details, Maxim, GQ, geek literature, empty beer bottles, a vinyl collection, in addition to a f**kload of dust and junk). According to an older issue of Maxim magazine, a universally accepted form of payment for your friends to help you move, is beer. WTF?! I should have requested a $14 bowl of ramen, a meal at the HK cafe, or some nigiri sushizzle and a few handrolls. So when it came time to do my move, no way was I going to count on this beer paying friend and the folks that helped him move that day (yours truly included). We need pro's. And off I went to the YEL(low)P(ages) and sure enough these guys popped up almost at the top of the list under "Movers". Hector, the owner of this business, was extremely courteous, professional, polite, and answered all my questions prompty both via phone and email. He provided a very accurate quote and explained the additional charges on top of the hourly fee, which ended up being lower than the competition. And given the stellar writeups Trans-One already has (inclusive of question mark heads contributions), I felt it was time to give them a chance, rather than the suspicious competition. Hector and his crew arrived about 10 mins ahead of schedule, even better. While he didn't assist with the move as he had mondo project management duties, he instructed his team on what needed to be done after talking to us and finding out the big picture, and off his team went. They took good care of us and our stuff. Big item furnitures were wrapped (like in Saran Wrap, almost a BDSM Power Exchange like protection thing) and very quickly too. Very professional and hard working, and most of all EFFICIENT, unlike my compadres who helped our buddy move that one time (and we took a ton of breaks and rested quite a bit...what can I say, we weren't professional like Hector and his crew). Hector originally budgeted 4 to 6 hours, but the guys finished at the 3.5 mark! We got charged for a little over 4 due to the driving time, but we were so pleased that this wasn't that big of an issue. They made the moving process easy, and it all went smooth. For once where it really mattered (and not just restaurants), Yelp really did work for me and I'm uber grateful for that. We could have ended up with some corporate schmoe who didn't give 2 $hit$ about our stuff, or I could have hired some low brow illegals from China who only speak Fujianese (thinking I would save money like a typical A$N) when they would get lost because they wouldn't know how to operate a GPS (let alone bing or google maps), charge us for time that they got lost (or f***ked around) and demand more $ and tip$ afterwards (true story, it all really happened). I recently hired trans-one moving to help us move into our new home. They showed up on time and were careful about our stuff. They didn't really move that quickly, but I guess who does when you are carrying heavy boxes. Anyway, when they were done 4.5 hours later, the guys called Hector and he gave us our price. We were quoted, when I hired them, $95 per hour for 3 guys & 1 24ft truck, which is a good price. It included gas & mileage. What they didn't tell me was it was portal to portal. He told us our total was $500. Now if you do the math, its about $430. They tried to charge us $70 extra for portal to portal and they weren't even going back to their shop after our move, they had another move scheduled! Well my husband got all pissed off at Hector & only paid the guys $440. The guys were great, nice & efficient, but make sure you ask if they charge portal to portal on top of the hourly charge. I would use them again, since they were good, but hopefully I won't be moving anytime soon! it sucks! read more

Pros -reasonably priced and no hidden fees. $85/h for 2 guys and a truck, $95/h for 3 guys and a truck. -movers were nice and worked diligently -they came with their own dollies and a few wardrobe boxes Cons -Arrived 2 hours late. To a 7am appointment so it's not as if they ran late on an earlier job. Having been forewarned by earlier reviews, I called at 8am, at which point Hector answered and told me that the movers were "waiting" at the office because they didn't have my address. Seriously, this is what Hector says. Let's break this down for a moment. I sent two emails and signed a contract which was emailed to him, all of which had my old and new address clearly marked. I don't mean to be harsh, but let's be real here. Either he is incompetent and disorganized or lying. Not an auspicious start. -10 minutes after I text him my address, I get a return text saying that the movers will arrive in an hour. Does this gel with his earlier statement that the movers were "waiting around" at his office, a mere 1 mile away from my house? Ah. Lying it is. Or maybe both? Not cool. Other people didn't seem to have this problem so maybe something was going on this particular morning, and he made a poor choice of how to deal with it? Who knows. Luckily, it got better from there. They do end up arriving at 9am, and the work did get done solidly. The movers did soil our carpets and one of my sofa chairs which was not properly wrapped, but that's about what I expected for the price and wouldn't have in and of itself cause me to drop the rating. Overall took 5 hours to complete the move of a 700sf bedroom from one place in RWC to another in RWC, with two movers, for your reference, which also felt appropriate and reasonable. So overall, Trans One would not be my first choice when I move again, but if I were in a spot and needed a mover, I would consider giving them another shot. I hired movers to make my life easier - both physically and stress-wise. The physical help they did well, but being inconsistent and a poor communicator during the process actually added to my stress. Contributing to the feeling of unsettled-ness at the beginning of a move negates some of the purpose of hiring a mover. read more

These guys parked their big truck right in front of my driveway, blocking it off completely for several hours, to move the next door neighbors. Neither they nor the neighbors had the common courtesy or decency to knock on my door to let me know or to ask for my permission, which I would have gladly given them. Since this was the fifth or sixth time my rude neighbors had blocked my driveway, even though I had asked them not to, I finally ran out of patience. After the community service officer spoke with them, and my neighbor told me to "screw off," I called Trans-One to complain. No office--just spoke to a guy in a truck. When I told him what happened, he didn't seem to know anything about where the movers or the truck were. The neighbor had told me they just use day laborers, and although I respect their need for work, I doubt that they are experienced movers. In future, I hope they will have the good sense and consideration to warn folks before they block private property, even when those they are moving don't. read more

These guys are fantastic. They helped me and someone else move from Sunnyvale to San Mateo. They were prompt (7am!) and didn't start billing until they arrived. They were professional and polite, put blankets down on the ground and wrapped everything. They politely accepted water and didn't take any real breaks that I could tell. They moved two 2-bedroom houses and spanned about 50 miles in 7 hours. That's huge. Oh, I forgot to mention the fact that it was POURING rain the last two hours. They kept going, they didn't stop, they didn't mess up. They did such a great job, we gave each of the 3 guys a $50 tip. We almost gave more. Sadly, I will be needing them again in a few weeks.
