We went for happy hour and tried the sliders (very yummy), the Caesar salad and the charcuterie board to go with a gin and tonic and an Old Fashioned . All were reasonably priced and nicely presented. We tried the grilled peach desert which was a slightly undercooked combination of streusel, peaches and ice cream. Have picked up food here twice now during Covid. The first time we got burgers and they were really good and enjoyed the home style fries. Bun was good and decent size burger and it was juicy. Tonight we went for fried chicken sandwiches which say they normally are just at happy hour. Maybe that should have been a clue. They had a normal sized bun and the flavor of the breading we really liked but they were tiny and over cooked. I think it would have taken three of them to equal the volume of the burger. So I sit here still hungry and still craving a friend chicken sandwich. Please keep ordering burgers and support our local restaurant but I can't recommend the fired chicken sandwich. read more

We are from California and so glad we ran into this place while visiting the Japanese Garden. The food was delicious! Best charcuterie board I have ever ordered. The Brussel sprouts were to die for. We ended up at Nick's because our Italian neighborhood standby was full, but it was a blessing in disguise! We sat at the bar, which is a gorgeous space. The entire restaurant is done in blues and whites, with a mirrored bar area, and features photos and art of the nearby lake. We were promptly greeted by the friendly bartender; the house cocktail I had contained mezcal and was delicious. We split a small charcuterie plate, which was very reasonably priced and had two cheeses, two meats, jam, mustard, crackers and pickled onions. My husband had the French dip; it was a large portion on crusty bread that stood up to the sandwich. The fries on the side were perfectly done. I had the mushroom pappardelle that also had pork belly and apples - perfect for fall and finished with the perfect amount of salt. I met a friend for HH and we sat at the bar. The staff was very friendly, seasoned and attentive. Loved the modern decor and the cozy neighborhood vibe. The HH menu was very reasonably priced. I had Cava, Caesar salad, and fried chicken sandwich. The Cava was a good glass of bubbles for $7. (My standard is Vueve to give you context of my taste)The salad dressing could have had a little more salt, anchovies and garlic, however the croutons were delicious. I had to try the fried chicken sandwich because it's hard to pass up friend chicken and it didn't disappoint; crispy, tasty goodness at a great value. My friend had an Old Fashion or two and the burger from the main menu. She said it was as good as it looked and didn't give me the opportunity to steal a fry. My friend had a pretty good painted hills beef burger that she gave me a piece of. It was very juicy and would have been great had it not been so over salted. The Caesar salad had nice crisp romaine lettuce. The dressing was light and tasty. I think they were rationing the Parmesan cheese. I would have liked more than a couple slivers. Ending on a more positive note...the hand cut fries were delicious and perfectly seasoned. The baguette with butter was good, like it ought to be. We're in town on vacation for our anniversary and we decided to check this place out on our last night before going home to AZ. And wow. I wish we would've gone here sooner so we can eat here again. Everyone has been extremely sweet and the food may be the best meal we've had in Seattle. And that's saying a lot because we've tried many places! We visited Nick's with another couple. It was our first visit. We shared 4 of their nicely presented and flavorful appetizers and then we each selected a different entree (skirt steak, hamburger, gnocchi, and a strawberry salad). Each entree received a 5-star rating for flavor and presentation. We finished the evening with grilled peaches and flourless chocolate cake, both with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Amazing new place. I have been twice. First time was for happy hour and I got the fried chicken sandwich and French fries. Both were amazing - the fries were some of the best I have ever had. staff is awesome. Our server was kind, friendly and professional. The ambiance feels homey light and airy. It's a bit loud but that also increases the feeling of community in the space. We both had the French dip sandwiches with the Brussel sprout side. The French dip at nicks is now one of our favs. And we are connoisseurs of French dip Sammy's. The au jus is so good I could drink it. Salty and deeply beefy. The bread was crusty yet soft and didn't get soggy as we ate. The beef was flavorful, sliced super thin and flavorful. The Brussels were steamed then seared so tender yet Smokey in a delicious sauce. My husband demolished the fries saying they were his favorite.
