I had no idea what to expect. No one recommended or referred them to me, I was in need for a reliable mover to move my furniture from Crate and Barrel to my home (12 miles 1 way. Arrived 20 min later than scheduled time (building only had two hour window for freight elevator reservation). Movers were cordial but inefficient. I had a one-bedroom in-building move from 5th floor to 12th floor so expected something quick and easy. Ended up being 3 hours. You could do a two-building move in 4 hours (as stated in another review here on Yelp). I was on a tight budget (expecting a baby on a single parent income) and ended up going over budget. Movers didn't bring or use a building-provided cart (for smaller, unpacked, irregular shape objects), despite me pointing out the carts which were right next to the freight elevator (see attached picture; I do not understand how they could not see them with their own eyes, even if they didn't hear me). I also suggested using the carts during the move, more than once, still ignored. They kept on carrying small objects in whatever amount that fits in one person's arm in each trip to/from the elevator on both floors. I won't use them again. THIS COMPANY TAKES CASH ONLY AND THERE IS NO PAPERWORK. One bedroom move out in an elevator building cost me almost $1,400.00!!!! I, a 61 year old petite female, had to help them lift and carry things because these 2 young boys moved at the pace of a dying snail. Viselli was obviously angry that he could not block the alley with the moving van to make their job easier for them and I really paid the price. This company has NO larger trolleys just one teeny tiny flat square roller and not a moving bin in sight. It seems that they don't understand that you should fill up the elevator completely before taking it down. Instead they chose to take a few items at a time and SLOWLY walk my belongings around the building to the open truck on the Chicago street. It took two healthy young men a little over 4 hours to simply to move the belongings of a small 1 bedroom apartment out of the building. I was penalty charged by the building almost $500 for them running overtime and disrupting everybody who lives in this one elevator midrise. Neighbors were angry. I kept telling the movers I would be fined by management for running late and they must pick up the pace. Suddenly they spoke only Russian . Every resident of this building was disrupted this day because the elevator was being used by two movers who saw me as a ATM they could rip off. They intentionally took their time so this move would run into rush hour traffic and I was charged for drive time. Then I had a problem with the storage locker and THEY WERE PISSED that it was running them late and they weren't done with their work day. THIS COMPANY TAKES CASH ONLY AND NO PAPERWORK. A lot of movers out there but, these were the absolute best bang for the buck. The first move I did with them, was a lot of confusion on scheduling but, they fixed it and made it right immediately. Having moved cross country a few times, into nyc, out of nyc- into so cal - out of so cal.... Moving SUCKS. If you're paying by the hour- you know it can be really stressful. These guys came in at a fair price... but more than anything they were so GENTLE with all of the furniture. They cared about not damaging the home or pieces being moved. I cannot recommend these guys highly enough. While I couldn't understand the instructions they were giving back and forth- it was clear they were avoiding hurting my stuff. Just moved my mother from Brookfield to Plainfield. Nice Guys Movers did a great job and had really reasonable rates. The movers were polite and professional. They wrapped the furniture if it needed it and they were very careful not to bang or scratch it. Natalie, the woman managing the office was also very helpful and knowledgeable. I checked at least four other moving companies and by comparison they were far more expensive and totally overpriced. I was skeptical when scheduling our move as we have a lot of heavy furniture but I couldn't have asked for better guys. They were so careful with our stuff and did not scratch any walls or furniture. Always talking it through before they moved the really big pieces. We even made a stop at our storage unit along the way to the new place in the city. They were hard working and careful. I had used the same movers for my last 2 moves, and they were great, but they were too busy to move me, so I was bummed I had to find new movers. I found this company on Craigslist Chicago. I like companies that charge by the hour, with no hidden fees. The truck fee was the only extra fee, which they mentioned in their quote. Everyone has a truck fee. Anyway, the guys showed up on time and ready to work. They got the job done in my 4 hour window ( I had freight elevators reserved at 2 buildings, 2 hours each). Very satisfied with two helpers that came to help move the heavy objects for our out of state move. Company was very flexible and scheduling around my needs and also at the last minute. I think that the team worked at a steady pace and we're willing to do more but my husband felt that he was done and dismissed them early but team asked several times if they could help with other tasks and again my husband was just done. Hired nice guys movers to move my stuff from one bedroom Apartment fully furnished to a storage - Alex and Sergei were two very nice guys - on time - very gentle with furniture and boxes. Over all very pleased with their work - keep in mind it's only two man working so it took 6 hours total - reasonable priced- polite profession guys and very nice. Only one complain - they didn't bring enough furniture wrap - even tough I asked for all furniture to be wrapped - good thing I had clean Sheets that they were able to use to cover up furniture in the storage- also they stacked everything very nicely. If you're looking for movers then these guys are a great pick. We needed movers to help unload our truck when moving from out of state. They are a small company and when we called them someone answered the phone only said "hello", we weren't sure if we had the right place. That made us pause for a second but we decided to give them a try. We selected them based on the fact that we only need help moving and not a truck or any extra and their positive reviews and then one of the few companies willing to do that. We paid for a deposit with Venmo, which was also a little different but at the end of the day none of that matters. These guys were all business, they arrived early, they didn't talk much but that doesn't matter b/c it saved us time. They worked really fast without being at all reckless. There were also one of the most economical options we priced, so that was a nice bonus. This was only the first half of of our stuff, we will be hiring them again when we move the rest of our stuff later this year. read more
