Fantastic find of a place! Excellent BBQ and reasonable prices. Not a full service cocktail…read moreplace but drinks made with their spirits were good. The first thing is coming in you get that rustic lodge feeling from the woodwork and decor as you get hit with that smokehouse aroma. No better way to get you hungry and set the mood for BBQ. Just yum! Our server was friendly and knowledgeable. She was attentive and checked in but never intrusive, hovering and did not ignore us once served. Tried a flight with Huckleberry, Berry, Cinnamon, Espresso and Walla Walla Sweet Onion (they "tree in" the espresso). Could take or leave the berries espresso and cinnamon were fantastic while the onion was interesting. Had a Bloody Mary with the onion and it was good. One table mate had the loaded potato with Mac and cheese and pulled pork. The noodles were bigger than skinny boxed and very tender. The cheese was creamy and flavorful and the pulled pork was tender and juicy and jam packed with flavor but could have been a bit more smoky. For the food: I got a small BBQ platter which came with 3-meat choices , a dinner roll and a single side choice. I chose baked beans for my side. Tri-tip, ribs and brisket for my meats. I tasted the beans nothing special but tasty. Same for the roll. The ribs were fall off the bone tender, juicy and meaty! I got three 3"-4" ribs. I also had a small pile of super thin sliced tender juicy and flavorful tri-tip and three 1/4-1/2" thick slices of brisket. The brisket was moist and had a good smoke flavor as well. I ate all the ribs, half the tri-tip and a slice of brisket. The rest went home with me as this was a hearty serving. To end our evening we were sent on our way with well wishes and thanks for patronage from our server and the bartender!

We finally made it into Cedar Rain Spirits in downtown Walla Walla, and I have to say -- this place…read moreis something special. From the moment you walk in, you can feel how much pride and passion goes into everything they do. This isn't just a restaurant; it's a family pouring their heart into their craft. The backstory alone is inspiring -- from perfecting a coffee liqueur recipe years ago to building a full distillery and now a restaurant that's quickly becoming a local favorite. On our visit, we tried a little bit of everything: the legendary Texas Twinkies, hearty Loaded Baked Potatoes, the signature Cedar Rain Sandwich, and the savory Brisket Dip. Every bite tasted like it came from years of practice, care, and a true love of good food. And the drinks? Absolute perfection. The Peach Green Tea Cocktail was bright and refreshing, and the Lavender Lemonade Mocktail was every bit as crafted as a cocktail -- thoughtful, balanced, and locally inspired. What struck me most is how dedicated Cedar Rain is to being part of the Walla Walla community. They've built more than a menu -- they've built a gathering place that celebrates local flavors, family, and connection. If you haven't been yet, do yourself a favor and go. Support local, eat well, and experience a family-run spot that truly honors its craft. Drove from Bend Oregon to Walla Walla Monday for work…read more My grandparents were from Pasco and my grandma went to Whitman and was on the board there forever so I used to come here with her sometimes. Hadnt been back in about 20 years. Walla Walla got bigger. So did I. Good to see everyone doing well. Checked into hotel. Had business Tuesday. It was Monday. Needed food. Salted Mill. Sat at bar. Ordered non alcoholic beer. Tasted like beer. No alcohol. Basically they removed the consequences. Could be big. First night at a bar I always order cheeseburger. Cheeseburger test. You can learn a lot about a restaurant from a cheeseburger. For example if the cheeseburger is good they probably make a good cheeseburger. Ordered Drive-In Burger exactly how they make it. Never modify the test. Half pound beef. American cheese. grilled onions. pickles. Mill Sauce. sourdough. fries. $22. There are cheaper ways to get beef but I was already there. Burger took awhile. Started looking around. They have these enormous wine barrels that have been hollowed out and they put a table inside. People go inside the barrel and eat. Didnt understand. There were regular tables nearby where you can see the rest of the room. Barrel people chose barrel. Kept watching them. They seemed happy. Maybe barrel is good. I dont know. I dont like ruling things out before I have all the facts. Drank more non alcoholic beer. Still sober. Product works. Might invest. Asked about burger. Burger coming. Good. Started talking to some people next to me. All bartenders. Asked where they bartend. Other restaurants. Apparently Walla Walla bartenders finish bartending and then go to another bar where a different bartender bartends for them. Then that bartender eventually goes somewhere else. Money basically stays in the bartender system. Very efficient economy. Asked what their group was called. Nothing. Couldnt believe it. They already had members. They had meetings. They had beverages. They had geographic concentration. No brand. Told them they need a name. They asked me for one. Had nothing. Classic consultant. Told them I would circle back. Burger arrived. Forgot about bartenders immediately. Insane burger. Crispy edges on meat. Very important. Sometimes the best part of something is the part where it almost burned. American cheese. Correct. People disrespect American cheese because it comes individually wrapped. I like knowing which cheese is mine. Grilled onions everywhere. Pickles extremely pickle. Mill Sauce got on both hands eventually. Burger was no longer really contained. Sourdough fought hard. Held together until almost the end. Respect. Fries were excellent. Ate every one. Found one underneath burger after I thought I was done. Huge night. Burger took awhile but I no longer cared. If something is bad and takes awhile thats waiting. If its good and takes awhile thats cooking. Cheeseburger test passed. Started talking to bartender group again. Asked about the barrel people. Nobody could give me a convincing reason to eat dinner inside a barrel. One guy might have tried. Didnt convince me. I am not anti barrel. Just dont know why I need to be inside one. Investigation remains open. Staff was awesome. Everybody knew everybody. One of those places where you walk in alone and 30 minutes later you're involved in a local bartender naming dispute. This is America. Paid bill. Walked back to hotel. Thought about grandma. She probably walked around some of these same streets when she was at Whitman. Different restaurants though probably. Hope she ate good. Tuesday night my work teammates were in town. Told them about burger. Built burger up pretty hard. We went to go get it. Closed. Wednesday tried again. Closed. Looked it up. Salted Mill is closed Tuesday and Wednesday. Very disciplined. Most restaurants try to sell food every night. Salted Mill willing to walk away from 28.5% of week. Power move. Scarcity creates demand. I wanted burger more. My coworkers never got one. Tough lesson but business trips aren't vacations. Thursday I left Walla Walla. Still no name for bartender group. Been thinking maybe Walla Walla Bar Association but apparently that name is already used by lawyers. Lawyers got there first. Typical. Could also call them The Pour Decisions. Too clever. They need something worse. Will continue working on it for free. Grandma helped Whitman for years. I helped 6 bartenders realize they need a name. Different generations serve the community differently. Great burger. Great people. Great fake beer. Barrel people appeared safe. If you are in Walla Walla on Tuesday or Wednesday I cannot recommend Salted Mill because you cannot go inside. Any other appropriate day highly recommend. 5 stars DM me if you have a name for the bartenders

The presentation of the food was great and taste was even better. The K-Sammy is VERY messy but so delicious. Calamari was tender and the dipping sauce was incredible. Not gonna lie, the Pork Cheeks wasn't me or my wifes favorite. But it really wasn't bad. *Lesson of leaving a 5 star before you leave the restaurant....the service was..alright..we had our card out waiting for the check for honestly about 30min or so and it wasnt busy. Room for improvement. We still genuinely enjoyed our visit.

We were seated quickly and it wasn't too busy so we were able to get a booth seat. The inside was nice and the booth was comfy. I decided to try a few items from the happy hour menu. Got an IPA for $8. Started with the k-pop wings. They were delicious and juicy and had a great flavor, and I enjoyed the sauces it came with. Also got the lamb burger. Honestly pretty disappointed. It was pretty dry, with barely any sauces and the bread made it more dry so it was hard to eat. The lamb was pretty good but wasn't the best. I also wish it came with fries or something else as a side. Finally got the Bibimbap with tofu. It was beautifully plated and had a lot of toppings but the rice was inedible. It seems to be at least a day old, not fresh, and it was not warm at all. The rice made it hard for me to enjoy as that was majority of the dish. The tofu was pretty good but overall I wouldn't return here unless for the k-pop wings. After dropping off the bill our waitress didn't come back at all so we had to wait a long time to get checked out, even another waiter had to come in and check us out because he realized she didn't come back. Kinda disappointed :/

If you're doing a proper tour of the Tri-Cities and somehow miss Tapp'd in West Richland, you…read moredidn't just take a wrong turn... you skipped one of the best stops on the map. Tapp'd hits that rare sweet spot where it works just as well for a date night as it does for a full blown game day hangout. The headline feature is the self serve tap wall, which is basically permission to become your own bartender without the awkward small talk. When your glass runs dry, you don't wait around, you pivot. Try something new, double down on your favorite, live a little. And if beer isn't your thing, the bar staff can mix a cocktail that reminds you why bartenders exist in the first place. Now, the food. This is where people get blindsided, in a good way. The Quesabirria Tacos, Asada Street Tacos, and Taquitos de Pollo aren't just "good for a bar," they're flat out legit. The kind of food that makes you pause mid conversation and reconsider your priorities for a second. Service deserves its own shoutout. We were there on a Sunday night, and our server didn't miss a beat, checking in, keeping things moving, and somehow making it all look effortless. Worth noting: same ownership as Tri-City Taps, which explains why the formula works so well, great drinks, great food, and service that actually cares. Bottom line, if you're local, this should already be in your rotation. If you're visiting, this is one of those "don't leave town without it" spots.
