Traveling home from a trip to Montana and decided to spend the night in a motel about half way home, we were tired from driving all day and after checking into our room we decided to have dinner in the Mexican restaurant that was in the same building even though it didn't look real exciting. We were very pleased to get excellent, authentic Mexican food at a decent price. The waitress was very polite and helpful and checked on us often. We would definitely stop and eat here on our next trip through the area.

I will never go back here at all. We stopped in after dropping of our son to his grandparents. I saw the sign and thought we'd give this place a shot. Walked in and there was no one inside. We had to seat ourselves which is fine but waiting for almost 10 minutes to have a menu and water wasnt the best way to start off. I ordered the nachos and was absolutely disgusted. All they served was some store bought chips (which is fine) and then shredded cheese and a few other toppings so much so that there was pools of grease on top of the cheese. I had a few bites and just paid and left.

    NBA action!

Tried this Mexican restaurant several times in last 3 years. Kept hoping for a good meal but always came in a pool of grease. We quit going.

The bar is long, with pictures of all the Pendleton Round-Up lining one wall. The place is a fascinating time capsule. Way in the back, beyond the bar and the pool table, a very small dining room with counter service and several humble booths are tucked away next to the kitchen. It's old, and proud of it. I've only eaten there twice; I once had a great breakfast there many years ago with my son. The portions were generous, the service was excellent, and as American style breakfasts go, it was about as good as they get. It's not "inspired food." It's the standard stuff, and there's something comforting about that. It's Americana at it's best. The second time was my birthday, and again, I was there with my son. It was evening. When we got there, we were the only ones occupying the cafe. It looked exactly as it had 20-plus years ago. My son ordered a hamburger and fries. Again, no trendy toppings or fuss, just very fresh, very well prepared hearty fare...exactly what we were looking for. I had their "famous" fried chicken. it was without hesitation, some of the best I'd ever tasted. It came with jo-jos, a salad, and garlic bread. It was all excellent, and almost too much food. If you enjoy old school dining in a small town cafe, it's going to be hard to beat the Rainbow Cafe and Bar.

Tapp'd hits that rare sweet spot where it works just as well for a date night as it does for a full blown game day hangout. The headline feature is the self serve tap wall, which is basically permission to become your own bartender without the awkward small talk. When your glass runs dry, you don't wait around, you pivot. Try something new, double down on your favorite, live a little. And if beer isn't your thing, the bar staff can mix a cocktail that reminds you why bartenders exist in the first place. Now, the food. This is where people get blindsided, in a good way. The Quesabirria Tacos, Asada Street Tacos, and Taquitos de Pollo aren't just "good for a bar," they're flat out legit. The kind of food that makes you pause mid conversation and reconsider your priorities for a second. Service deserves its own shoutout. We were there on a Sunday night, and our server didn't miss a beat, checking in, keeping things moving, and somehow making it all look effortless. Worth noting: same ownership as Tri-City Taps, which explains why the formula works so well, great drinks, great food, and service that actually cares. Bottom line, if you're local, this should already be in your rotation. If you're visiting, this is one of those "don't leave town without it" spots.

I could easily see myself spending a few hours here and lounging, maybe writing or grading papers, and just enjoying the ambiance. It does have that local-pub type feel to it. Easy to find parking right out on the street. I selected the seasonal cocktails Demeter to drink. Gin is my spirit of choice, and the addition of black currants and blackberries was intriguing. The Cassis Noir De Bourgogne was the dominant flavor, rich black currant flavor from the liqueur. I do also appreciate that the drink was a very nice balance between mild tartness and mild sweetness, I could easily drink four or five in a sitting and still feel good about it. I do enjoy the terpene notes from gin and was unfortunately not able to taste them since the black currants were some dominant. The blackberries and the rosemary both struck me as there for the visual appeal more-so than the taste. If the berries were muddled more, then they too could add depth to the flavor. As they were in the mostly intact state I drank around them, a straw would not have been appropriate for the drink. I think one could cut the ice in half, it would still stay cold, and the ease of drinking would go up. I could probably also get more blackberries into my mouth for an additional sensory experience. Lastly, I did wish for more bubbles, more effervescence. Keep a neutral flavor (like carbonated soda) and let the Cassis shine.
