The weather was beautiful, so we were able to sit outdoors. I ordered the coconut shrimp, and it came out in a coconut shell! That meal has lived rent free in my mind ever sense. I tried a bite of my mom's meal and husband's meal, and both were absolutely delicious. Portion sizes were generous.

You can tell that the waiters love what they're doing and all help each other. This place is by the lagoon so every table is a picture-taking location. But be careful of the crocodilo... of course, it's by the lagoon. The place itself is clean.. and the lagoon is clear water too. Now the food... it's as simple as, I can dine in this place everyday! It's not that expensive but the presentation, the service and the taste is like a 5-star fine dining restaurant. Even the drinks! I ordered their clam chowder (you can see in the attached video on how they served it), lobster tail wrapped with bacon, my hubby ordered salad (which was also excellent presentation), and steak. Let's not forget the chips that is on the house with 3 different taste buds sauces... tamarind (sweet), avocado (salty) and chipotle (spicy). Love love love! I should say, your visit in Cancun is not complete without visiting this excellent restaurant!

I didn't like that I smelled like burnt wood cuz the whole time their wood grilled oven is on. The service is good. The waiters are fast and checks on us frequently. Presentation is good, but I'm not impressed with the taste. I ordered lobster bisque. It's kinda watery, not creamy at all. Very regular. Then I ordered lobster in coconut curry and basmati rice. It was served in fresh half pineapple.,Unfortunately I was not able to taste the coconut. i was expecting that it will be kinda sticky since the rice was cooked in coconut curry... but no, it seems like it was just soaked in water, it's lacking the taste of the coconut and taste of curry.,Also, for awhile i thought i was eating chicken instead of lobster. Yes, I was expecting that it will be pricey since it's fine dining, but it didn't meet my expectations to it's palatability. I was not even able to eat half of it. I was forcing myself to eat it, but i really can't cuz it was lacking taste. I still gave 3-star cuz of the service and the ambiance.

Many of the dishes have strange ingredients that the regular gringo hasn't heard of, which makes this even more exotic! I consider myself a mexican food expert, to some degree, and they're serving dishes that are so inventive, so wild, so fresh, so delicious! The dining area is split between a covered outside area, and seating on the grass overlooking the lagoon. Be careful, there's alligators in there! The service was fantastic- the waiter was patient, spoke English, and made excellent recommendations. I got fish with peppers, octopus ceviche, and some mezcal, followed by a honey and anise Mayan drink. All of which were delicious! My dining companion had a strange pepper with some fish- also nom! Coming here was like a history cuisine lesson, mixed with delicious food, wonderful scenery and a pleasant meal! My favorite part of this place is the artwork when you come in. They've got a Mayan god in a cenote at the doorway that just is amazing!

In the past this place has always been a staple for us, but each year we go we like it a little less. This year majority of the group was disappointed in the entire experience from the service to the food. To start, the service was lacking compared to what we get at other local restaurants nearby. Our servers did not frequently come back to ask if we needed anything and we were constantly having to ask to get our waters refilled. The drinks are good, but nothing we can't get elsewhere. Half of our group enjoyed (but not loved) their food and half did not enjoy. My SO and I split the al pastor meal. In the past we have loved this, but this time it felt like they rushed to make it and the flavors we remembered just weren't there. It was still good, but I think it could have been better. I do love the churro cart here, but you can get good churros several other places. Overall, this place has gone downhill in our opinion, and for the price it isn't worth it when there so many better options close by. I'm sure we will be back, but I think we might skip a year stopping here.

You have the option to sit outside or inside which both are excellent options. To the right is the open kitchen and in front sits the fresh Italian meat and the most impressive is the leg of prosciutto (unfortunately did not have it on this trip). The waiters were attentive and gave wonderful recommendations. The insalata d'uva was pairs perfectly with the Gorgonzola dressing and balsamic reduction. Even better was the insalata d'asparagi which may have been one of best asparagus dishes I have had. The first thought of oranges with asparagus may be odd but just trust the chef and jump in. The Quattro formaggi may not sound that like a home run from the menu but with the copa and the smoked provolone the flavor is lifted to a place where you are wishing for a couple more bites as the dish comes to an end. The pavlova was just the right amount of sweet to end the night. Overall a very welcoming and well thought out experience and I would recommend if you have the time to stop by. We loved it so much, we ended up here twice in the same week. The service is outstanding here and you can tell they pride themselves on customer service. Before the meal, they do drop off bread with dipping sauces, garlic, and butter. The perfect appetizer. One reason I love this place is the salads. They are big enough for split for 2 and I don't think you can go wrong with any of the options. Personally, the cesar salad is my favorite. What I love about this salad, is they make the dressing right in front of you. Definitely a cool and unique experience. The first time, I ordered the tuna steak. It comes with a soy sauce and a garlic butter. These two sauces on the tuna makes for an incredible meal. I cannot say enough good things about this entree! The second night we went my boyfriend and I split the Cesar salad and the skirt steak. We also added on a side of mashed potatoes and grilled veggies. The whole meal was delicious. I couldn't pick a favorite part because everything tasted so good. Splitting this was the perfect meal for two people and we even had a bit left over to snack on the next day. I always have a wonderful experience with even better food when I come here. If you happen to be in the area this is a must stop.
