Oyster with wagyu beef; I highly recommended; good for sharing as an appetizer
Serena L.

Both the quality and taste of food exceeded my expectations, but the portion was small though. My family of 4 (14&12 y/o) shared a complimentary bread and dip, 6 entrees and a dessert. I highly recommended the oyster with wagyu beef for sharing as an appetizer. It was my favorite dish of the night. I also liked the chicken and duck breast. The shrimp was my least favorite because the sauce was thick and cheesy, but this is just my personal preference. Overall, our family enjoyed the fine dining experience at Casa Amate.

World class. From the ambience, service, drinks, and most importantly food, Casa Amate exceeded all my (girl friend's) astronomically high expectations. David made our night particularly special with spectacular service. 5/5 stars... no question.

Very good restaurant in Andaz Hotel Mayakoba. They're have a happy hour 5-6 PM, that I believe everyday 50% off for all drinks but not including drink over 400 Peso. We here for happy hour and dinner 2 times and we really like it. The foods is amazing I love seafoods soup and Mole. If you come here you should order that. That service is nice here and very friendly. I recommend you to reserve before you come in and try to do happy hour in beautiful bar area and enjoy dinner after with a nice view.

Really interesting and delicious dishes from across Latin America. We got the pork belly and fish salad dishes as appetizer, and then got the oyster with wagyu and duck breast with mole as our mains. Everything was so yummy and fresh. I especially loved how crispy the pork belly is, and how cohesive the duck breast dish was. We also got some cocktails, which were very refreshing. Will absolutely recommend, especially if you're staying at one of the Mayakoba resorts!

Love the architecture and design of the space! Really felt like I was in some Spanish house....but the food is hit or miss....nice presentation and interesting favour for some. The best thing I had was the bread and the spread! The Brazilian cheese bread and the brioches were so good, esp. accompanied by the red spread (i forgot what it's made of...some sorta chill pepper). i even ask if they sell the spread so I could take it home!

Amazing bread basket!

This restaurant is located on the andaz property at Mayakoba, and I was so impressed with the decor in all the different room didn't realize how big with restaurant was at first. To start let me say the bread basket yes! It was incredible the cheese bread was amazing and the brioche roll wow everything is incredible, and it come with 3 amazing dipping sauces. The service was incredible at this place I was so impressed with all the dishes so much my stomach was smaller than my eyes lol. My favorite dish would have to be the red snapper steamed in a banana leaf this is the dish everyone has to try incredible. My husband had the seafood bisque, and it didn't disappoint it tasted so fresh, and full of flavor. Everything was delicious here a place I would go back for sure.

Latinamerican fine dining. The menu is diverse with Mexican and South American foods taken to the next level. The Peruvian tiraditos (sashimi), duck in mancha manteles mole with fruits, and the pastry with goat cheese and dulce de leche filling were espectacular. The restaurant has several dining rooms representing each room in a house. Perfect dining for any foodie.

Carboncitos was a really enjoyable experience overall. The food was genuinely delicious. I started…read morewith the chicken soup, which had great flavor, but the portion was pretty small. For my entrée, I had the skirt steak, and it was tender, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The sweet potato with honey and cinnamon was absolutely delicious. My only real complaint is the portion sizes on a couple of items. The salad was very small, and I would have loved a more generous serving. I also ordered an amaretto sour. It was a little weak at first, so I asked for more amaretto, which made it better, but it still wasn't quite as strong as I prefer. The service was phenomenal. The staff was attentive, kind, and genuinely friendly throughout the entire experience. I felt well taken care of and truly enjoyed myself. I would definitely return.

My girlfriend takes food very seriously so it's hard to find good spots and this place really impressed her. We came back two days in a row to try different plates and they all slapped. (Chile Rellenos, quesadillas, salsa wheel, tacos, ceviche). The drinks were amazing as well. (Pina Colada, margarita - they have happy hour 4pm- 6pm) All of the above would be enough in itself but the staff was really friendly and accommodating without doing too much. I.e They don't come across as fake. Anyways, if you are looking for a spot to try in Playa Del Carmen, eat here at least once and see what's up.

My husband got sirloin tacos off the rotisserie. I got a pollo plate. So good! We also added on guac, chips and a potato taco. Everything was great. Will come again. No gimmicks, just seriously good tacos. The tacos were packed with flavor, perfectly seasoned, and served hot and fresh every time. You can taste the quality and the technique especially in the way the meat is cooked and carved. Everything felt simple but done right, which honestly is what makes a taco stand out. The atmosphere is lively and busy (for good reason), but service moves quickly and efficiently. It feels like the kind of place locals actually eat at, not just a tourist trap with hype. We fully intended to try different taco spots around Playa del Carmen... but after our first visit, we couldn't resist coming back. When a place makes you change your food itinerary, you know it's worth it. If you're in Playa and debating whether it lives up to the hype it does!!
